He stretches himself tall, barefooted in the sand. The midday sun burns hot, but he relishes in it, glows in it. His hair, tousled by the wind, smells faintly of salt. The waves slowly creep closer to cover him ankle-deep in water and withdraw again. He looks far away into the horizon, into the vastness of the ocean and breathes deep. He takes in the moisture, the breeze, the salt and the fish – the smells of home. He exhales slowly through his mouth and smiles. He feels alive. He feels at peace. He is a son of the sun and the sea.
