oracleofkairos:
The distraction is enough, The Oracle hopes.
Immediately he raised his sidearm, firing three shots. Hoping to catch her torso enough to knock her over, at least.
But he doesn’t wait to see, leaping forward in a glide to bring his light to bare once again.
Her body jolts with each bullet and she stumbles a step, then collapses, wheezing and moaning in pain. That's not how she wanted it to go...
The cage falls to the ground, something cracking in it, and Zorya can feel her Light back. It doesn't stop the life seeping out of her though, and Sviat doesn't dare move just yet to help her.

Like Lemmings
Closed starter for @of-snakes-and-men
Oracle sighed, adjusting his coat as he made his way down the stairs to the parts of the tower he would've been happy to call "unlawful" and purposefully ignore the existence of.
But here he was, knocking on the Drifter's door like the office of a colleague. Which he was, theoretically speaking.
In practice? Not so much.

@oracleofkairos from here
Apostle could tell an uneasy smile from a relaxed one. He knew that the Warlock didn’t fully trust him, one letter not repairing the damage just his reputation could do, but he hoped that change was possible. Taking the seemingly scattered and always Warlock out for a bite to eat seemed like a good start.
Noticing the distance, Apostle made no move to close the gap, knowing full well that would likely do more harm than good, but he did motion for Oracle to follow him with a much more genuinely relaxed smile on his lips. “It’s this way. And it’s my treat, so feel free to eat as much as you’d like.”
The restaurant really wasn’t all that far; down the Tower to inside the City walls, across to streets and then a left turn, and they were there. On the way there however, Apostle couldn’t help but ask, “What is it you’re working on, if you don’t mind me asking? Rest assured, if it has anything to do with Vex, I have no knowledge of them and am simply asking for my own curiousity.”

Roses Set On Fire
closed starter for @oracleofkairos
The hospital was dreary in the way hospitals were. As nice as designers and the people behind it could have tried to make it look, it was still an extremely bleak space- white halls, brown and white walls when they weren't grey, glass and metal doors...Neutrals only ever broken by the blue and white of uniforms or flowers
The upper floors of the Hospital were reserved for any members of the factions, as keeping some out of public rooms maybe quell any hostility that might pop up from it. It had started with any Future War Cult members..but soon moved to keeping any person from any of the factions up there.
Visiting hours were ending soon, people were being ushered out by nurses and doctors. The upper floors were not exempt, one of the murses shooing The Oracle out of the room. It was just protocool, of course, keeping certain patients under much stricter hours of course... which made it so easy for someone who knew the exact times to hunt him down.
The halls outside were empty despite the fact there had definitelt been people there. Visitors but it seemed they all...dissappeared, the only noise in the air being the repeated noise of shoes against the floor.
"You, Warlock..." A voice called out. It lacked emotion, very flat in a way and the look of the Man it belonged to matched. Fancy clothes, a suit- most likely someone who worked there... a smile that took its place on his mouth but never quite reached his eyes and alongside it, curled horns curving out on either side of his head, symmetrical. The matte look of them made them seem real, and Golden Age experiments were never hidden yet.. there were so few remnants left, all with adverse effects.
"You're The Oracle, right?" The stranger greeted, coming closer. "I've heard a lot about you. My....friends, have noted you more than once." Was it odd to call the Vex his friends? It painted a better picture for himself, thens something creepy immediately. They were still in a public place after all, somewhat. He held a hand out, cocking his head. "I'm Roanoke."

See!
Some people get it!!!
Thank you!
OBSESSED with the vex’s nickname for guardians. “those who wield that which we cannot simulate”. ghost was right, that is catchy. it’s also endearingly poetic…

🦋 Oracle Of Kairos
Modern ‎AU
We've talked abt modern AU before but I think it'd be interesting to see how Scout n Oracle meshed in that, seeing as Scout is still pretty involved in Crime Stuff. He's not super different compared to destinyverse, but he's probably slightly more insufferable lmao. Really thinks a lot of himself in this AU bc he thinks he's invincible (and in some aspects he p much is)
Vampire AU
Ok I lov vampire stuff but I've already written for Scout so. Ivy instead. I think he'd be pretty good at being a vampire I won't lie, he's not super threatening and although he's bad at just straight up seducing people, I think he'd still be able to get their attention and drawing them away. If he's not the vampire in this situation I think he'd be pretty damn fascinated, though maybe slightly hesitant to have his blood be drank lol

9. Dredgen, Snitch, or neither? Why?
Oracle is absolutely a Snitch.
He never liked Gambit, especially with it's habit of luring in New Lights.
After learning more about the Drifter, he trusts it even less.
It's legalization and Vanguard endorsement is something he considers a great mistake.

19. What's in their pockets?
Despite the presence of his ghost and a library of transmat options, Oracle keeps a few physical items on him.
A pair of pens, a notebook, a small metal charm taken from the Exodus Black, and after the Red War, an ancient earth made pistol, known as a Saturday Night Special.
Just in case.

"Hey, Scout."
The Oracle gently pats the blanket mound.
"What's the plan for when Taniks gets resurrected as a Guardian?"
Scout is once again hiding beneath all his blankets. He had to fight Nightmare of Taniks three times today. That is more times than any single Hunter should have to kill Taniks in their lifetime.

6. Did they struggle learning to use their Light?
The Light came slowly to Oracle, but not as a challenge.
His first few years as a Guardian were spent remembering more basic abilities, and a focus on his Arc light came after.

The look Oracle gave him was flat, as he crossed his arms gently with a pointed sigh.
"So worried for my students safety you'd attend personally?"
Absolutely not what the point was, but given that the Oracle had a sum of zero wins in the crucible to his name, he wasn't really in a position to complain about it, given that it was in all likelihood a free excuse for the drifter to put some slugs in him.
"It'd certainly put me at ease, assuming the whole apparatus doesn't just explode the second you step away from it."
oracleofkairos:
Oracle’s carefully maintained polite smile deteriorated as the Drifter continued to speak, a simple “Sure” or “Nope” would’ve been ideal, but alas.
At the rogue’s suggestion, the smile shattered completely, replaced by a tight frown.
“As much as I want to make sure my students get the experience they need, I’m not about to participate.”
He swallowed, gears turning.
“I suppose I could cut into class time in order to spectate in person. I wouldn’t partake, but it would ensure I’m on hand when something goes wrong.”
Not if. When.
“What, are ya scared? Gambit’s not that bad, Brother.” Drifter snickered, not buying into this deal just yet.
“If ya don’t want to get bitten by the enemy, how ‘bout I join in too?” He didn’t say on which team he would be joining, so it was up for debate if Oracle shouldn’t be more afraid of getting bitten by Drifter himself.

“Mmmm, fair.” She smiled warmly, running her fingers through Oracle’s hair, and leaned over for one more kiss.
“Did you feed Amber, by chance?”

💄A lipstick kiss or 😇 a surprise kiss for Zorya and The Oracle!
[why not both :3] @oracleofkairos
It was an event equal to a miracle when Zorya wore lipstick, but she put it on that day. Seeing Oracle in the armchair, reading something, she snuck closer and leaned over the back of it, tilting his head back.
"Morning, Bookworm."
Zorya didn't wait for Oracle to react, though - she placed a couple loud kisses all over his face, giggling, her dark lipstick leaving stamps. Then, she cupped his face and gave him a soft, sweet one, right on the lips.
"You're up early."

Harness Your Hopes On Just One Person
Starter for @oracleofkairos
Shrike wasn't one to stalk random Guardians through a forest-
Or so he would say.
Maybe it was the fact it was a Warlock, or maybe it was just The Oracle's general vibe. Or was it that he felt his "territory" had been enroached on in some way in the Pacific Northwest's forests? He wasn't sure, but here he was, trailing the Warlock slowly through the trees. He weaved like any seasoned hunter, back and forth easily through every piece of foliage. His footsteps were quiet, covered by the birds and other wildlife roaming through the dark forest.
The forest opened to a small clearing though, and Shrike hesitated at the edges, ducked low to the ground. He waited to see if The Oracle would see him- or if he'd be mistaken for a wolf. With all the fur he donned, it wasn't that far of a stretch that someone could.
