#or stop ignoring the mass of negative feedback they get

Hi, I saw your "Fear of Negative Feedback/Reviews" reply, and while everything you said is definitely all true, I think the anon was more referring to interactions within the online writing community and on social media, rather than reading reviews on their work. I could be wrong of course, since I'm not that anon, but that's how I read it. With social media allowing people to gang up on creators en masse and destroy their careers over a tiny, imagined slight, it's definitely a relatable fear.
Dealing with Social Media Dog Piling
It seemed to me they were talking about reader feedback, which also includes reviews. Here's why I say that:
Anon said: "Do you have any advice on how to deal with the fear of bad-faith readers?"
Keyword: Readers
Anon said: "I’m quite worried about random online users discovering my writing..."
Key phrase: discovering my writing
Anon said: "... complaining that my writing is not good enough, not diverse enough, not social justicey enough, etc."
Key phrase: complaining that my writing is not... So... Anon is concerned about readers discovering their writing and complaining that it's not good enough... aka feedback and "reviews on their work."
I did lean into reviews on that post, which was just my ND brain falling down a bit of a rabbit hole, but that advice applies to any unsolicited feedback on your writing. If you didn't ask for it, it's not there for you, so you can ignore it.
However, we get into a very different area when we talk about people dog piling on an author due to a perceived issue with their writing. But, I can tell you, viewing this phenomenon as occurring due to "tiny, imagined slights" is problematic. If that many people feel slighted by something you said or did in your story, it isn't "imagined." It could certainly be a misunderstanding, but it's not imagined. If that happens to you, the thing to do is listen to their concerns, acknowledge them, apologize, and do better next time. That's it. That's all you can do.
And that's the reality of being part of a society. Humans aren't perfect. We're a big complex web of emotions, ideas, mindsets, and experiences. It's impossible to live on a tiny spinning ball with 8-billion other people and not constantly step on each other's toes. If you inadvertently step on someone's toes, you apologize and move on, being careful not to do it again. If someone accuses you of stepping on their toes when you're sure you didn't, there's no point in arguing... you own it, apologize, and move on, doing what you can to make sure you're actually not stepping on anyone's toes. And that's it. That's what you can do. You don't let it stop you from being part of the crowd. So don't let the fear of it happening stop you from creating or sharing. Just be prepared to apologize and do better if it happens. If you're genuine, they'll move on and so can you.

Rumors of Von Kaiser
TW/CW:Yandere behavior, unhealthy behavior, unhealthy relationship,abusive behavior,abusive relationship,very toxic,being kidnapped, Stockholm syndrome,
Rumors say that Von Kaiser is a strict, heartless, and cold man. Rumors say that the guy in his house isn’t his son like he’s telling everyone. Rumors say that the boy is Bald Bull’s Son,Marcus Ozdemir. Rumors say that Marcus was kidnapped and has Stockholm syndrome but those are just Rumors everyone says about the strict military boxer.
Von Kaiser was getting annoyed hearing the rumors about him and his son,he didn’t kidnap the boy, he just simply took him to his real home. Marcus was safe. He didn’t have Stockholm syndrome,he was just forgetful, that's all. He just needs him to remember that he’s home. Currently he was at the minor circuit talking with the other two as king hippo could not speak and eats most of the time. “Did you hear? Bald bull and his family are still looking for Marcus” ''poor fella,I hope Marcus is safe and that they find him soon” “so do I. Veronica and Mass are getting really affected by this and haven’t been themselves at all” “I know I saw when Mass was fighting they had less spirit and was much more angry than usual” Von Kaiser gripped his hands tightly luckily no one saw he was much more angry but he calmed down quickly to not seem suspicious. “Yes I saw that too. The WBVA are considering putting them on stand by until they’ve calmed down or the case calmed down. They don’t want any negative feedback” “Yeah poor buddy,Mass is really upset by the news” “I must go,my dog Bruno is waiting for me” “of course. Tell Bruno we said hi” “will do”
Von Kaiser left early because if he was there even a second more he’d blow his cover and snap. He was about to lose his temper hearing more about those frauds of a family that Marcus called once. He was taking the long way home so that he could be calmer. He should probably get some medicine for Marcus as he did injure his leg pretty bad, might be broken which scared him. Stopping by his pharmacy he grabbed some painkillers and stuff that would probably help a broken leg. “Good morning sir! Did you find everything you need?” “Yes ma’am” “I’m guessing a friend broke a leg recently?” “Mhm,he fell pretty badly” “Ah well if it was down the stairs I suggest letting their leg rest and probably have someone near them just in case they get injured more but I am no doctor!” “Thank you I’ll keep that in mind” “Your total comes to 5.02” Von Kaiser handed the money as he got the bag she handed him. “Have a nice day! I hope your friend gets better” “You too and I hope so to” Von Kaiser began walking back home as it wasn’t to far away from the minor circuit surprisingly.
Marcus was petting Bruno sitting on the floor. His leg ached badly but he ignored it and just continued letting Bruno. ‘I’ve had a dog before,I think his name was rufu’ Marcus stopped at the thought confusing Bruno. “Arf?” “Hm? Sorry Bruno got lost in thought for a while” Bruno nodded before laying his head back down on Marcus’s legs. His leg ached. Marcus pet Bruno looking at the TV,it was playing Charlie and the chocolate factory. His leg ached. Soon the door knob twists, alarming Marcus and Bruno, mostly Bruno, as he stood up ready to attack. “I’m home!” Bruno calmed down upon hearing his owner's voice as he trotted over to Von Kaiser. “Hello” Marcus used the couch arm stand to help him stand. The aching was now a stabbing pain causing Marcus to wince at the pain. “You alright Marcus?” “Leg hurts a lot…feels like it’s being stabbed now” “Hm is that so? Maybe some pain killers will help with the pain” Von Kaiser was just going to give him one for now as he wasn’t sure if Marcus was faking it.
“Okay I’d like that…” “How about you sit down. I don’t wanna risk it” Marcus nodded his head and sat down on the couch still watching the movie with a emotionless face. Bruno jumped on the couch laying his head on Marcus’s lap which got him head oats. It was a routine for the dog and boy. One sits down the other lays their head. Von Kaiser walked back with water and a pain killer which Marcus took quickly as he didn’t wanna miss a scene of a movie he’s seen about twenty times counting. “You really love this movie” “Mhm…I like it because of the designs and the characters outfits. Tells you a lot of a person” “is that so?” “Mhm,if you saw Charlie in real life you’d guess he’s a average boy,a bit shy and anxious, heart of gold, and very kind not much of a risk taker” Von Kaiser sat on the other side of Bruno listening to his son talk about the characters if you saw them through the eyes of a normal person not knowing them. It was a normal day for the son and father.
Rumor says that Marcus is wanting to leave every day bit by bit. Rumor says Marcus is slowly going insane day by day. Rumor says Marcus is forgetting himself and other people each passing second.

Blame Plumbella for inspiring me to write this today!
I'm so happy so many simmers (especially larger YouTuber Channels that normally only focus on the positive parts of the game and gloss over the flaws) are finally noticing/pointing out the pitfalls of TS4 that have always been in the game but have become less and less easy to ignore. Misery loves company they say, but I have been hyper aware of the empty, shallow, nonconsequential A.I. that is TS4 for many years and it was painful to watch YouTubers enable EA to continue to mass produce these packs. So I'm sorry that ppl are heartbroken now that the A.I. is finally getting the negative attention that it deserved so many years ago and still today, as a poorly executed Life Simulation system. I am hopeful that EA will stop trying to recreate the wheel when it comes to the foundation of The Sims as a Life Simulator. The A.I. was such an irreplaceable aspect of the game until we got to TS4 when EA decided she only needed to look pretty as a game and nothing else mattered. This is why, in my opinion, TS4 has always felt empty and soulless for me because it's quite repetitive both in animations and in objects added to the game. Many corners were cut in the manufacturing of TS4 and it's very obvious today. The A.I. has no metric system by which to differentiate one sim from another, no memory system to attach consequences and no animations to build onto so that the player feels that the sims have emotions other than the same surface animations that were shipped with the game over 8 years ago. I feel they need to end TS4 and listen to all the feedback when making TS5 rather than continuing to have ppl invest money into this game. We are still going to spend money on The Sims. I know ppl don't want to start over but, would you continue to put money in your old broken down car that's on the side of the road every weekend, or just get a new car and spend less money on a car note but love your new car. It's time to put TS4 out of it's misery. She's finished. Honestly, her fate was sealed at day one to be shallow when EA launcher her without the A.I. capabilities of her predecessors. LOL All I can keep hearing in my head is that scene in Jurassic Park where he screams, "SHOOOOOOOOT HERRRRRRRR!"

Hi! There is a show: ZYW and some other guy travel for 3 days. From what I've seen, it's his morning routine to warm up his vocal cords Also ZYW is hugging trees and basically most of the time they eat lol Also they talk a lot, so I guess it should be cool to understand. When you have two minutes, could you tell us what this show is about in general? The name on youtube: 《仅三天可见》[第六期] 姜思达 周一围|一个冠军给我带来了无妄之灾 Perhaps they're visiting some place important to ZYW? Thank you so much for all your help!)
Yeah, so in brief, the show is about the host, Jiang Sida (JSD), who spends 3 days with a celebrity in each episode to try to understand them better.
ZYW in particular is a celebrity who really interested Jiang Sida because of how quickly ZYW gained popularity after Birth of an Actor, and also because of all of the negative rumours swirling around his personal life. ZYW is often insulted by the media for being 油腻, which means greasy. Greasy is an insult used to describe older, middle-aged men who are sleazy, self-absorbed, and on the heavier or chubbier side, although sometimes this insult can be leveled at younger, in-shape male celebrities too who come off as kind of douchey.
It’s sad because even though ZYW doesn’t often express it, you can tell that the rumours do get to him. For instance, during the first meal in the show, he wanted to use a toothpick, but he was wary about using it in front of the cameras so he pocketed it away. The host noticed this and sympathized and playfully said, “Ah, too protective of your image. Stop the camera. Let’s go upstairs to the third floor, I understand you.”
The vocal cord warm up (that occurred during the hike before that meal) happened because ZYW asked JSD “you studied production right, not broadcast? If you studied broadcast, this would be a good place to practice your sound”, to which JSD replied, “show me” (or, “give one”). ZYW proceeded to demonstrate a dantian qi exercise.
In the voiceover during the hike, JSD said that even though they were friendly, things were still a little awkward and distant between them since they hadn’t gotten to know each other yet.
On the third floor rooftop, JSD opened up to ZYW about a film he wanted to write about. JSD shared his ideas to ZYW, saying that the film would tell the story of his father who spends a year away at sea fishing. ZYW then shares his feedback, saying that it’s a really meaningful story because it’s about the loneliness of a man out at sea. Basically, this conversation is what finally allowed JSD to connect to ZYW because they were finally talking about deep and thoughtful topics like the art of storytelling and life lessons. ZYW said to JSD, you need to think about what kind of perspective you want to show. Is the story about the son’s feelings about his father’s return, or is the story the father’s story at sea, and the son is just an observer meant as a stand-in for the audience? ZYW then said that he was pleasantly surprised to learn about this side of JSD because he now knows that JSD is able to understand him. He also encourages JSD to keep pursuing his dream of wanting to make this movie. It doesn’t matter whether the end result is good or not, but it’s a joy to be able wake up everyday and pursue your goal. JSD says that he spends everyday thinking about this story he’s creating, because he wants to get to know the story better since it’s still so unfamiliar and foreign to him.
During the tea segment, JSD asked ZYW if he was bothered by the things the media says about him and he kind of just shrugs it off and says that it grounds him. They talk about how he used to love karaoke (KTV) when he was younger, JSD asked him what his wife likes about him, and ZYW said that you have to ask his wife why. ZYW mentioned how people would call him PUA, or “pick up artist”, and then JSD if those things bothered him. ZYW said that he learned to ignore those things, but they do bother his wife. The tea segment ends with them noting that it looks like it’s about to rain soon, and ZYW says, when it rains, you can choose to stand in the rain, or avoid it and go indoors.
During the evening meal, ZYW is asked again about how he feels about what people say about him and why he doesn’t address the rumours. ZYW says that it’s pointless because his voice alone isn’t going to make all the rumours stop. JSD says that it could be cathartic to be able to yell back at people, and ZYW laughs and says it’ll only be for a moment’s satisfaction but it won’t change anything. When asked if he is a person who likes to win, ZYW said that he likes to finish things, but does that make him someone who likes to win? He doesn’t compare himself to others, but he just wants to do what’s expected of him. JSD then tells ZYW that the director of the show asked him if he was worried that netizens would accuse him of trying to use this show to try to rescue ZYW’s image (洗白, which means to “wash white”, or clear someone’s name). JSD tells ZYW that his goal is to present celebrities in an honest and genuine manner, and if it just so happens that the celebrity is actually a better person than what netizens thought, then that’s the truth and he’s not fabricating anything.
The following evening, they have a conversation about happiness. ZYW says that he doesn’t compare between the years in his life or classify certain years or decades as being bad years or good years. He doesn’t wish to forget the bad years. He says, why would you need to forget the bad years?
By the river, ZYW asks JSD if he ever thought about what kind of animal he wanted to be. JSD says that it doesn’t really matter what animal, but if you asked him if he would rather become someone else, he’d say no. ZYW says that not wanting to be another person is a pretty good answer.
During the final sit-down interview, JSD starts off the conversation by saying that ZYW looks relaxed most of the time, but he’s actually 绷 (”beng”) on the inside, meaning stretched-tight. ZYW asks how so. JSD says that ZYW is constantly noticing things around him, and avoiding things and people and cameras. ZYW says that it’s part of his job to notice more details more than the average person. In terms of avoiding cameras, he’s constantly being scrutinized, there are always cameras around him. Even during this interview, they have to put on a show of being relaxed in casual conversation, even though there’s a whole sea of cameras and people with mics and earpieces around them. So it’s only natural to want to try to find a balance between reel and real life by being a little aversive towards cameras and people’s scrutiny.
JSD then says that ZYW seems like he has a lot of thoughts that he keeps to himself. JSD says ZYW is 拧巴 (”ning ba”) , which kind of means uncomfortable, awkward, restless, wanting to do something but not doing it, like for example, being uncomfortable with rumours but not addressing them. ZYW says that what’s the point of explaining? How is it meaningful? Will explaining something change you as a person? You are still you whether you choose to explain something you not. Likewise, you are still you despite the rumours. The rumours (no matter how bad they are) don’t change who you are. Only you know who you are.
This really reminds me of what Xiao Qi said in episode 64 of TRP: “If there’s anything that needs to be explained, then no matter how much you try to explain it, it’s never going to be explained away. Let them spread the rumours.”
ZYW explains that there is no way that a single word or statement from him can possibly fend off the tens of thousands of words from netizens, so there is no point. In addition, rumours are only momentary and they ebb and flow. The netizens are always going to look for a new rumour or scandal to talk about anyway, so the uproar about him is only temporary.
ZYW also says that there will always be rumours. There’s no truth. He will never expect that a single interview can change people’s minds. First of all, the viewers can’t experience the conversation in the same way the he and JSD are currently experiencing the conversation now in this moment. The audience will be watching it through a screen. The audience will only seeing an edited recording of the conversation, but they will never be able to know or understand the “true” nature of the conversation that he and JSD are having right now because the audience isn’t here with them. This is actually some really deep and philosophical insight from ZYW lol. What is real? What is the truth?
JSD asks ZYW is this means that he’s disappointed and lost faith with the audience. ZYW says no, this is just reality. We can only hope to influence people who are able to influence, like people in our immediate circle, but when it comes to noise or mass opinions, you don’t have control over that.
JSD then asks about fatherhood. JSD says that most men would talk about how fatherhood has changed them. ZYW says that most of his friends talk about this, but he doesn’t. But if he doesn’t talk about it, does he think about it? ZYW pauses to reflect. In another interview, ZYW noted that all kids have their own life “scripts” that they act out and deal with (this was in response to how he doesn’t seem to be home often to be with his kid). In that interview, he said that that was the way in which he had to grow up, figuring out his own script (and essentially not relying on anyone), so he doesn’t expect it to be any different for his own child. This once again result in the media backlash against him and questioning his role as a father. Which is why when faced with this question from JSD now, ZYW has to pause to think carefully about how to answer.
JSD asks why can’t ZYW give a straightforward answer for the audience. The audience doesn’t want to hear an answer buried in layers of meaning, but they just want a simple answer to things. ZYW says that sometimes he isn’t completely sure of what the answer to something is, and so he can’t give a straight answer. It would be easy to give the answer that the audience wants, but he needs to be able to give answer that is genuine and resonates with him.
JSD asks how ZYW would respond if the audience calls him self-absorbed. ZYW turns the question back to JSD and asks him to provide a response for him because he doesn’t know how to. ZYW said that he would just not respond and let it pass. On top of that, ZYW says that he doesn’t think of himself as being self-absorbed at all. He’s actually dissatisfied with himself in a lot of ways, and all he wants is for the audience to not pay attention to him so that he can be peacefully left alone.
JSD asks if ZYW is he is more afraid of being criticized or being forgotten. ZYW says that being forgotten would mean that there is a problem with his acting skills. In terms of being criticized, it would depend on the criticism. He would mind criticism towards his acting because he would want to improve any problems in craft. However, if it’s personal criticism, then he doesn’t care.
ZYW says that someone he admires once said, it’s a complicated world out there, so find a comfortable position, change positions, and learn to live with it.
JSD’s second last question to ZYW is whether he’d rather choose a comfortable position/posture or a beautiful position/posture. ZYW said that he would choose a comfortable position. JSD asks if ZYW thinks his current “posture” looks good (i.e., if his current standing and image is favourable). ZYW asks that you’ll have to ask someone else in order to know.
The last question asked whether ZYW can predict how this interview will be received by audience. ZYW says that they touched upon many deep topics, but it’s hard to say what kind of effect it will have on the audience, or how the audience would choose to interpret it. He’ll welcome thoughtful discussion, but it would regretful if the audience took away very superficial things from the discussion.
JSD asks if ZYW is happy with the discussion today. ZYW says that if it weren’t for the cameras, they could have gone deeper into some topics, but because there are cameras, he has to have impose boundaries on the things he’s willing to reveal. But he says that he would be interested in having more private conversations with JSD.
JSD ends the episode saying that ZYW is an old soul who knows himself, knows what he wants, and already has his own “world” (meaning he already has what he needs).
lol I was at first only going to summarize the first few minutes of the episode, but I ended up watching the whole thing because I was so memorized by ZYW’s insights, so here you go, a scene by scene summary of the episode.
For those curious, you can watch it here:

For the ask a writer thing, how do you deal with negative feedback? I write and post both exophilia stories and fanfic. I have a multi-chap fic that's been going on for years. On one update I got a comment basically saying that the quality of the writing wasn't good enough for how long it was taking me to get chapters out, and it kinda hurt! I've started to feel guilty about my writing lately. Any tips for keeping motivation up while we're at it? Thanks, no hard feelings if you don’t answer this ask ♡♡♡
I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to get to this!
So...I’ve never actually received bad feedback on my writing here or on the fic sharing sites (ao3, FFN, etc) but I HAVE received terrible feedback in some critique discords, as well as unasked for/unsolicited commentary from a fellow creator once, so I definitely think the kind of feedback/venue matters.
Feedback on work you post here/on a fic sharing site—unless you specifically *asked* for feedback, those people can fill their pockets with rocks and jump directly into a lake. This is FREE ENTERTAINMENT. If you don’t like something you’re reading, move the fuck along. No one wants to hear your bad opinions, Madison. There are a million other things you could be reading, so if you don’t like what’s in front of you, keep scrolling. And before anyone needs to tell me about the golden days of fic writing when writers weren’t such snowflakes and readers could critique freely in the comments, let me stop you right there, Debbie. I’m a fellow fandom old and I remember those days too. You were an asshole then, and nothing has changed. We all know the quality of fanfic is all over the board, but here’s the thing: most people are doing it for fun. Maybe it’s the first thing they’ve ever written. Maybe it’s the tenth piece they’ve written and they’ve already begun improving. Maybe they don’t give a whit about improving their writing because this is just a stress-reliever hobby. All of the above are valid.
As far as your updates not coming as quickly as they’d like, or the quality not being what they want or or or—my advice is the same. Fuck ‘em. We all have stuff going on. This is 2020, the year of our lord, the year of all terrible things. We all get a pass. And even if it weren’t, unless this is a job and you’re being paid a fair, living wage for your work, you take all the time you need, and don’t feel guilty about it. People’s entitlement goes from 0 to 1000000000 the second they can post something anonymously to a creator, so please know we’ve all dealt with that, and they can piss right off. Write your story to the best of your ability today, do right by your characters and your narrative. That’s your job as a writer. Not to please the anonymous, unwashed masses.
Now, as far as the terrrrrrrrible critique I received in a critique group—that’s on me. I asked for it, I knew what I was signing up for. I still HATED IT, but I accepted it gracefully. I applied some of the things that were suggested: some things worked, others made it worse. After I gave myself sometime to be frustrated and angry and sad, I reread the critique with fresh eyes and threw 98% of it out the window because I had given myself enough distance to consider the source and realize I had asked for critique from the wrong audience. Now I’ve started working on it again.
Ultimately you need to give yourself permission for some things. It’s okay to feel hurt when your work is criticized, because it’s personal for you. It’s not personal to the person giving the critique. Give yourself permission to get mad at and then ignore the people who have the audacity to leave their greasy fingerprints on the work you’re providing them for free in an entertainment setting. Give yourself permission to write as fast or slow as you need to. We’ve all got stuff going on. It is what it is. YOU need to enjoy it. Serve your characters and your story, don’t feel guilty, and most importantly—don’t give up.

Most Popular Singer In India Raahi Rana

Best male singer in India Raahi Rana was born in his native village name Jalouli in Panchkula district in Haryana. The child was a simple and yet naughty kid of a middle-class family who was loved by all. During childhood, he changed schools in Barwala and Panchkula without understanding his ability and perspective of life. Then in the 11th standard, the student recognised his love of writing and began to write for himself. The boy began to spend hours writing his feelings. When the youngster joined engineering college, then he decided to go hand in hand with studies and his skill. Raahi Rana had to fight an inner battle for choosing one from concentrating on academics and his desire of writing. As a result, the obedient son decided to fulfil his parents' dream to see him as an engineer. So, he stopped writing to give dedication to education without knowing that he was going to be the number one singer of India in the future.
During the two years of being away from his hobby, he felt an emptiness in his life and tried very hard to execute his decision of concentrating only on studies. But when he reached his third year of college, the youngster lost his patience and finally, he resumed writing as before and also tried to focus on academics. Later Raahi Rana attempted composing the poems written by him in the form of songs, and it became a successful outcome. Then, the writer decided to write lyrics instead of poetry, and it made him happier. The talented musician completed his first song, ’BTECH’ in the 4th year of engineering, and he recieved appreciation from his friends for the amazing track and his melodious voice. All his classmates encouraged him to pursue singing and work harder as they believed he could become the most popular singer in India. The talented vocalist became part of the college event where the star enchanted the audience with his voice.
While tasting success in music, Raahi Rana faced difficulty handling the pressure of engineering. Thus, he had to give around 20 supplementary exams to move forward into his career. The student studied hard and prepared for all examinations. Finally, the boy managed to clear the backlogs and graduated with an engineering degree. Then, he joined Panacea Biotec for an internship to step towards a stable career. But during this period, his writing became more secretive than before as he would not show the write-ups to anyone even after preparing them. Raahi Rana finally wrote the song, ‘Pyar Nahi Karda’ in 2016, and he showed it to his close ones, who encouraged him to complete the beautiful track. After receiving support from his friends, he determined to be the best male singer in India with his skills.
The singer started singing songs at malls, restaurants, cafes and many more places and reached out for feedback to polish his ability. The melodious voice of Raahi Rana was appreciated by everyone and encouraged him to complete his songs and release them on a bigger platform. Then the vocalist shared his decision of taking his talent in front of a larger audience to his family and to which they gave a positive response and supported him to pursue his dream. Then, the boy worked with dedication for several months to complete his track. He nourished each word of the track, then composed the music, sung the melody from the bottom of his heart and gave the required changes to complete the song. Then in January 2017, the musician launched his debut track to step into the world of famous singers. Raahi Rana received good feedback, and it made him the best singer in India.
Raahi Rana had a difficult time as nobody was ready to take the opportunity to a newcomer as it was risky. He worked during the night shift at the workplace and managed his singing during the day. The singer would create plans and prepare plans for the chances that he might get. Raahi Rana would have heart breaks for not receiving what he expected but still would participate at the events in his region to reach out to the audience. The strong man would grab hope even after being hurt. But several people around the struggler demotivated him for choosing a singing career. Raahi Rana took time and ignored all the negative comments, and took suggestions from well-wishers for improving himself. Then the musician left his job and began to introduce himself to the masses and the classes through his skills. Slowly, he began to rule social media platforms such as Instagram and YouTube with his mesmerizing voice and became India’s Best Male Singer. The boy from the small town created his path in a big city and became an inspiration for newcomers to the industry.

I really feel like my interest/passion for Zim has just died lately. This wasn’t something that built up or anything like that - it just happened, and I was actually afraid this might happen. Part of me was always 50% about returning to the fandom, while the other was 50% was against it. I was worried about going back to the fandom because it was quite toxic back in the day. I dealt with some nasty people and I was driven away from the fandom due to them. While my experience has been much more positive, it’s mostly the antis this time around that have prevented me from wanting to indulge into this fandom as much as I originally wanted to. Not that I give a shit about them - I just don’t have time for internet drama anymore. I’ve basically ‘been there, done that’. I just wanted to go back to the Zim fandom to enjoy it, instead it’s just the same garbage over and over. I’ve even feared posting for a while due to accounts being mass reported. Antis suck the life and joy out of everybody. I don’t feel comfortable as I did when I originally returned and bad memories constantly resurface. There’s people I just don’t want anything to do with on here, especially ones with venomous attitudes (the whole ‘ZADRs DNI or I’ll break your kneecaps’ type of shit). Tumblr’s blocking system is such a joke. Even third party apps are not enough to hide some people's posts I really don’t want to see. I just want to enjoy what I love and be happy doing so for once, not have to face the drama and negativity on a daily basis. It’s got to a point even ZADR doesn’t make me feel happy anymore. Anything Zim related even. I cannot handle constant strings of non-stop negativity from some people in the fandom as well and it’s draining me mentally to the point I’ve started avoiding the fandom and anything Zim related in general now. I live with severe anxiety disorder and have been seeing a psychologist because my anxiety gets to a point I can’t even walk outside to get my own dog sometimes. Seeing the drama and negativity of the fandom is not what I need or want to associate with. I started the year of positive and returning here makes negative feelings/vibes return, hence long periods of breaks/silence. While I’ve made a wonderful friend in the fandom since returning that I hope to speak more to this year, I just am not prepared to deal with only being liked for ‘Zim art’. I have other fandoms I enjoy. I feel like I’m just wasting my time trying to interact sometimes because nobody answers and I get scared to even post other art I want to share because I just think it won’t matter. If it’s not Zim related, people won’t even bat an eye. I don’t want to only be cared about for the sake of Zim artwork and I feel that way when I’m on here sometimes. I’m not trying to be petty or anything - it’s just obvious to me as a long time artist. I’ve been in the field long enough to know that if you want something to work out, you have to please the audience above yourself and well... sometimes I just want to please myself I guess. I put out a lot and rarely get back. That includes supporting people. I think if I were to remain in the fandom, it would be for my own sake and happiness. I don’t have it in me to want to make friends anymore because I’m sick to death of trying to be supportive only to be ignored or used in return. Last summer I spent a night trying to help somebody that had major depressive issues, I stayed up crying and making sure they didn’t harm themselves because they kept hinting at it and worried the hell out of me, and instead I was thanked by being flat out ignored straight afterwards despite them begging for my friendship and to join their discord server. I’ve not spoken to them since because I don’t take too kindly to those sorts of attitudes and eventually I did call them out on it. There’s people I want to be friends with but I just don’t have it in me anymore, to either be supportive or to want to make friends. People leave me on read so much that I just gave up. I’m guess I’m just happier keeping to myself and sharing my artwork. My trust has been damaged over the years by being lied to repeatedly, so I’m selective about even wanting to talk to people in general. Hell somebody crossed a line with me recently by telling me something extremely inappropriate then started saying they would prove I could trust them. Just... no. I guess what I’m saying is please don’t take it the wrong way if I don’t respond or don’t talk much - I just don’t have it in me to and if I see constant strings of negativity it just drives me away. I’ve had too much negativity in my own life to deal with. By that I don’t mean I don’t care to answer messages - I just mean that I can’t hold long conversations like I used to be able to. I have little energy. As for my Zim fic, I don’t know if I have it in me to continue with how I feel now. I see how many people have read it but little feedback makes it hard for me to gauge how people perceive it and if I should continue. Maybe this will pass but right now I’m sure not feeling any reason to want to continue. I’ve felt happier/better focusing on my other stories, honestly. I really do hope this passes. My spark for this fandom has dimmed quite a bit. If it comes back around I’ll delete this eventually. Sorry to sound negative but I feel apprehensive about remaining in the fandom and I can’t shake it. :( If you have any positive vibes to send my way, please do so. Maybe Zim will grow on me again. :(

In light of recent events and the pouring out of despair that I’ve seen on here among the various anarchist/insurrectionists/anti-civ individuals for the inevitably reformist recuperation of the uprisings in response to police brutality and white supremacy in America, I want to highlight a passage that I read in ‘ Critique of Chrisso and Odeteo’s Barbarians” by Frére Dupont, one of the authors responsible for writing “Nihilist Communism”. It may not be something we want to hear right now in response to what is transpiring, but there are some crucial points of critique being expounded here: “On what level does the militancy that C+O (Chrisso and Odeteo) validate signify to the self yes, we feel good to come off best after an encounter with the authorities, but to the authorities themselves and beyond them, to the existing structure, what value does any instance have? A burnt-out bank is a boon for builders, cleaning companies, cops, security advisers, property developers. A riot, like a forest fire, is good for business, cleans out the old, shock and awe. Capitalism makes capital out of conflict and disaster. Rioters and insurrectionists are not the most resistant elements in society, they are perhaps the most conscious, the most confrontational but they are also the most spectacular, the most self-conscious, the most prey to delusions of ‘people power.’ The insurrectionist is fine in his moment, and so many of them fall away exhausted, but they act only for themselves, they are not creating a better world, they are not at the front. They act for themselves, the extreme acts of a few will never be a substitute for the small acts of becoming human of the many. to acknowledge this, to accept the essentially selfish and subjective nature of the ‘black block’ is not to say we must not resist. On the contrary, we must continue. It is only to say, that there is no necessary connection with the outside through our desire for it. It is likely that our resistance, in the end counts in favor of existing authority and against the possibility for revolution. All we can say with certainty is that we can recognize what is not outside.” At a first glance of course we could dismiss this as counter-insurgency misrepresentation of insurrectionist action that has no purpose but to undermine the efforts made by the anarchists really out there throwing down. However, I think what Dupont is doing here is highlighting the burnout that anarchists feel time and time again is due to their failure to acknowledge that a few intensely radical individuals simply cannot through their own will annihilate a system as all encompassing as capitalism (and by extension the state and civilization) without acknowledging the efforts needed from those who are not already radicalized. Throughout my time spent on here the last couple of weeks I see pro-insurrectionist anarchists (myself included) giddy with excitement that because of riots/looting/precincts being burned down that we were on the cusp of a true apeshit moment in America. Unfortunately, within just over a week corporations, media, and the innumerable activist/careerist/opportunist rackets captured the virulent rage spreading throughout the metropolitan areas of America and beyond in order to reform us back in line once again. Due to the fact that (as is all too obvious) the vast majority of people do not have any ideas of a world “outside” the one which has ensconced all life within its totality (insert discussions on domestication, spectacles, the hyperreal, desire etc etc), the reformists are gaining the upper hand and the radical potentials are fizzling out due to counter-insurgency propaganda and worries among leftists and centrists of “de-legitimizing the movement”. However, getting excited about violent rebellion is one thing, but the subsequent crash into the reformist rackets shouldn’t lead anarchists into disappointment and defeatism, but rather revaluating and transparent criticism. Hence, this is why I want to launch deeper into what’s being said here. For one, the beginning of the passage discusses the emotional high radicals get off of clashes directly with the state and the institutions that protect them. Of course, this is a predictable reaction and one that should inspire more and more people to embrace their rage against the state. However, if the only places where these actions take place is in a few dozen large urban territories around the country, and if only an isolated number of businesses/police stations/institutions are attacked, how can we expect that this wound sundered in the death machines of capital will not close up in the blink of an eye? @corvid420 pointed out that cops that are resigning from large city police forces (NYPD for example) will likely move into the suburbs or smaller districts and be hired as cops there, suburbs which house the petit-bourgeois/bourgeois sectors of society (not to mention majorly white). These places have seen far less action in comparison but still encompass many of the characteristics as the big cities (shopping malls, police stations, jails, courthouses), and while these spaces of society still remain untouched there will not be any significant strides in working towards an abolition of capital.
To build off the previous point, insurrectionists run the risk of spectaclizing their efforts as we have already seen the media continue to use the rioting/looting argument to discredit the most angry portions of the revolt. The ontological problem of “becoming-imperceptible” in an age of smart phones, mass surveillance and police helicopters continues to pose an immense obstacle in struggles such as these. Isolated incidents of a burned AutoZone or shoe stores being looted in New York make it easy to highlight and demonize a subset of “unlawful individuals” who are “not paying honor to the legacy” of the state sanctioned murders of black people in America. More importantly, due to the ways in which people in capitalist society create identities based on brands and commodities, they will empathize with business that have suffered from the riots and looting first. They will mostly ignore the economic crisis brought on by COVID-19 that is influencing a lot of this action in the first place (and even if this devastating crisis wasn’t occurring, why should we care if we deny the surplus value from corporations and engage in our own excess?). Insurrection needs to be treated as an all or nothing affair, otherwise its integration into the spectacle is only a matter of time. Of course, as Dupont points out later in this passage, he doesn’t want the banks to stop burning, but rather wishes to point out that smaller actions against the logic of capital by the majority will do far more than a few insurrectionists trashing a Target (or other similar large displays of disobedience). Fortunately, I have seen more and more anarchists highlighting the importance of this lately on here as of late, although at times like these those suggestions get buried under the desire to go out and break shit (I’m guilty of this as well).
Finally, and perhaps the most controversial portion of this excerpt, is Dupont’s discussion on the insurrectionist’s position in the overall revolutionary potential against capitalism. They highlight the individualistic nature of insurrectionists, and how in the moment they act mostly for their own desires. They are not, as Dupont argues, the “most resistance group” among those that suffer under capitalism, but rather the “most conscious”. This consciousness is perhaps the greatest strength insurrectionists have, in that these anarchists will embrace the most violent and extreme measures to go to in order for the current order to collapse. However, it is what also leads anarchists to feeling burnout when revolts and protests continue to get recuperated. This is where I agree the most with Dupont and see this passage as mostly coming across from a point of empathy rather than contempt. However, wanting to attack the state/capitalism/civilization from an individualist perspective is a necessary means to act within the context of the current struggle. This I think is a misunderstanding on Dupont’s part. The individualist tendencies of insurrectionary anarchists does not stop at the singular level but creates trajectories toward molecular forms. Through individuals enunciating their own struggles in the various spaces of the capitalist world, we can found relationships unmediated by the haunting specters of civilized life and use each other to the advantage of all. However, to the credit of Dupont, the desires of most people do not align with a revolutionary trajectory and therefore those individualistic tendencies can come across as impotent and ineffective. This of course is where future struggles and crises will have to compound on each other in order to make a push toward a different direction. The sobering observation of the crisis still being out of sight for most of those around us does not mean it can always be pushed to the periphery forever. Insurrectionists cannot be at a “front” because simply put there is nothing to be in front of, and they cannot create a better world because it isn’t up to them alone to create it. This is the real struggle not just for anarchists but anyone who rejects the current state of things. It is the struggle to form a movement, a revolutionary trajectory, when at the present there is hardly anything to mobilize.
Overall, I find Dupont’s insights to be valuable at a time like this, despite some of the points I found a bit off. Using this passage as a way to focus on the response to not only what’s going on now but the inevitable crises of tomorrow will allow some necessary reflections on how things went down undesirably. I welcome any positive or negative feedback/commentary to this response and how it fits with the unrest going on currently in the United States and abroad. I do not wish to speak on behalf of anyone else, only from my own perspective and how I see the current movement unfolding and how other anarchists around me (who have much more experience in this than I) are reacting.

Bullying
I’m not about Beemoov and their games — I play but I’ve stopped making a deal about everything they do because I’ve learned it’s pointless.
This is something I will make a big deal about.
Most people have had to deal with bullies at one point or another in their rls. We all know how bad it can be when it happens online, too. A place we thought was safe for our thoughts and feelings is suddenly not.
We know what it feels like when we find out a fandom we love has a special toxic corner filled with nothing but hate for anyone who doesn’t follow their herd. These people especially, it seems, think they have a right to bully anyone who isn’t exactly like them. The homogenous mass is the ruler, and they shun the individual — give so much hate they question why they even like the thing they’re in the fandom of.
Beemoov’s fans aren’t the exception. I’ve had plenty of hate thrown at me for not liking their terrible scripts and daring to say their anime boyband line up of love interests isn’t absolute perfection and everyone should want to marry them rn.
I hate that we’re used to this. It’s become acceptable for fandoms to hate anyone different to them. You all love the damn thing, so why can’t you accept that not everyone loves every part of it?
Beemoov’s attitude towards bullying is what’s more disturbing and worrying for me. As someone who had to deal with bullied on the site and off it, their response was to change their TOS to avoid responsibility. Their reply to anyone bringing to light bullying between players is “not on our site, so not our problem.” I’m here saying, “YES IT IS!! It began because of their game and because their attitude is to ignore it and hope it goes away, they’re unconsciously encouraging people to hate on players. It also hurts they have their own prejudice towards people who dislike aspects of the game, so it then becomes outright encouragement for people to attack and bully people until they stop expressing themselves or leave. We’ve seen proof of this from the main artist and creator, who hints to her fans to go after people who’ve upset her with their justifiable criticisms of some of her art — justifiable in the fact she altered the images after feedback. That didn’t stop her setting fans on people like they’re her personal attack dogs.
The thing that really worries me is even after people leave and go quiet they still get hate. They’re still bullied. They’re questioning who they are and whether they have value as people because surely they wouldn’t get bullied if they were decent? Only people who “deserve it” get bullied. If they hadn’t said something mildly negative about a thing, then they wouldn’t be the target of attacks now.
This kind of spiral is how people end up suicidal. And Beemoov’s reaction is “Not on our site so not our problem.” YES IT IS. It originated from you and because your attitude is to look the other way and not take responsibility for the people playing your game — that you drew in and take money from — they’re the ones who end up in vulnerable positions. The more I see from Beemoov the more I hate them as a company. They know this happens and instead of protecting people — many of whom aren’t even teenagers yet — they brush everything under the rug and say, “not on our site, not our problem.” YES IT IS. It’s your problem because you brought these people together and created an environment for bullying and then sat back when it happened and tried to excuse yourselves of guilt and blame. Instead of altering your TOS to protect yourselves you should protect the people playing, some of whom are emotionally and mentally vulnerable and will take the bullying to heart and it will affect them long after you’ve gone bust.
What’s it going to take for you to stand up and say, “we do no tolerate bullying on our platform or any other”? Will someone have to die because you let people bully them?
BE BETTER.
And @staff this goes for you, too. Just because you pretend it’s not happening, or argue that it’s going on in asks doesn’t excuse you from taking responsibility.

A self-reflection on current issues and trends on Digital Marketing Communications
Digital marketing communication – Social media marketing
Digital marketing has gained significant importance over the last 2 decades but since the inception of social media, digital marketing has become one of the major media for marketing the products and services. With the increasing trend of social media usage, the importance of social media marketing has increased as well. There are currently 3.48 billion social media users all across the globe showing the power of social media. Social media marketing does not cover the relevant masses only but it is a highly effective tool to convey the message and convince potential customers regarding the products and services. The interaction with the customers through social media is not only convenient but highly effective as it provides an easy way for customers to contact the product or service provider. The content for social media marketing is crucially important as the attractive content is something that inspires the viewers to stop scrolling, open the advertisement and gives it a proper read (Felix et al, 2017).
The trend of social media marketing is getting hyped up day by day and it has become an essential part for all level businesses to market the products and services through social media in an effective way. Social media marketing allows the company to market the product in a cheaper way. It also has the ability to customize the target audience for the advertisement in terms of demographical, geographical and other relevant variables for the companies. There is 77.6% of the small business in the US in 2016 that uses social media marketing for promoting the business (Mansfield, 2018). The percentage is 70 for large while 68 for medium-size businesses (Statista, 2019). The division of using the different platforms in the US by small business is shown below
According to global statistics, Facebook marketing is one of the most influential and it has influenced 52 percent customers for different companies across the globe. There are more than 4 million videos added to Facebook with the aim of marketing rather than casual videos. For Twitter, 78% of the total customers that have contacted the company for any purpose got a response within an hour. In the case of Instagram, the media brands are most active on Instagram making it an effective platform for media brands. YouTube has more than 40 billion views on the official channels of different companies and products showing the strength of social media marketing in this modern age of businesses (Hainla, 2018).
The role of the environment is crucial and significant in any activity and its importance and contribution cannot be ignored in digital marketing communications. There are many micro and macro level factors that create a positive and negative impact on the effectiveness of digital marketing communication as those factors are part of internal and external marketing environments. Most of the environmental factors are not controllable and the organisations have to come up with the strategy that neutralise the negative impact and optimises the positive impact arising from the uncontrollable environmental factors (Saura et al, 2017).
According to Lipiäinen & Karjaluoto (2015), companies have been successful in different regional environments for digital marketing communication. The key to their success is the understanding of the marketing environment and deriving the marketing communication strategy accordingly. Without understanding the regional culture, behaviours, psychographic and other variables of the target audience, it is not possible to desire and implement an effective digital marketing strategy that produces a high return on investment. The basic element that plays a crucial role in the effectiveness of digital marketing communication is internet literacy. Despite the massive level of internet usage, there are still many regions in the world especially the developing countries that have potential to business but low internet literacy. The companies have used a simpler method to communicate and improve awareness for the importance of digital marketing communication.
One of the major factors that have its influence is the social and ethical acceptance of the content of digital marketing communications. One content that would be attractive in a particular society would be unacceptable and unethical in another society. The advertisement of beer openly through digital means and communicating about it in Muslim countries is not considered good but unethical while in developed countries; it is completely fine (Karjalouto et al, 2015). There are many countries in which the selling of a particular brand is allowed but the public advertisement is not allowed. Taking the example of Pakistan, companies are allowed to sell beer but the digital marketing communication and advertisement cannot be made for the product as it is unethical, socially unacceptable and illegal as well in the country (Husnain & Toor, 2017).
The literacy level and the technology used by suppliers also differed from region to region and the organisation needs to understand the change in technology for communication as well as the culture. According to He & Pedraza (2015), the Chinese supplier relies more on WeChat for casual communication rather than the WhatsApp or other forums.
The website conversion rate is the rate of people that visits the website and fulfils the desired action. The optimisation of this website conversion rate means that the rate of conversion needs to be maximized and most people that visit the website should take the desired action. The desired action can be fulfilling a form, making a purchase, rating a product, giving feedback, signing up, and making a request for quotation and many more. The companies have understood the importance of website conversion and taking effective steps in order to optimise the website conversion rate for the success of the company (Chawla, 2018). The calculation of conversion rate is not a complex procedure but the optimisation of website conversion is a difficult and challenging task for the companies.
The rate can be calculated simply through the following formula
Website conversion rate = Number of people completed the desired action / Number of people visited the website
There are certain ways in which the companies can improve and optimise the website conversion rate by working on the website design, content, and first impression. The company needs to make a clear and specific goal of their website and then plan the whole website and conversion rate accordingly. The first impression of the website should be positive and attractive once the person visits the website (Cotton, 2019). It is highly important for the company to understand that the first impression should be attractive enough that the person should stay there and search for more rather than just close the website due to a bad first impression. The website design of the company should be matching with the overall theme of the company. If the visitor has seen any advertisement and visiting the website as a response, there has to be an alignment between the website design and the advertisement design (Severn, 2016). All the information needs to be displayed in a clear and proper manner in order to create a positive image of the company. Most importantly, the desired action should be having a proper way and complete details. As most websites are developed for making sales and contacting the company, the website should be having complete product information, pricing, payment methods, and delivery options along with a confirmation message for the order (Patel, 2018). Strategies like these would most probably optimise the conversion rate of the website to achieve the desired action on a regular basis.

Tentacled (1/2)
(I tried to think of a clever name, but then figured people would want to know what they were getting into!) Anon asked for tentacles. On a Rick? On his partner? Well, you’re getting both. I hope you like it!
NSFW, naturally. Rick/reader. Swearing and dirty talk, and wonky science. Enjoy!
Round 1
Foreplay was hot and heavy, even though it was in the Smith’s kitchen: Rick coming up behind you and groping your tits, slipping one hand under your waistband to your pussy, whispering indecent things in your ear as he nipped your neck. You’d let him finger you while your hips grinded against him. When he put a little too much pressure on your clit, threatening to undo you right here against the counter where any member of his family may just walk in and see, you disengaged and dragged him to his bedroom.
Once there however, things took a decidedly weird turn.
The door slammed shut behind him and you were already on your knees in front of him, working the buckle of his belt and the zipper on his trousers while he pulled his shirt off over his head. He felt incredibly hard and large under the fabric, and you cracked a joke about how many Viagra he must have popped tonight--
It wasn’t his dick. Well, it was; he had an erection of course, but there was also a nest of tentacles in his pubic area, surrounding it. Mottled maroon and pale pink, they moved sluggishly at first, but exposure to some light and less confinement seemed to wake them up and they writhed through the air as if testing it.
“Jesus fucking christ!” you exclaimed, moving backwards so quickly you fell on your butt.
Rick laughed and reached for you. Your panicked movement attracted the tentacles some more, because they also strained towards you. Rick ignored your obvious concern and grabbed your shoulder.
“Don’t-don’t-don’t freak out,” he recommended, like that was a viable option.
You had a hard time unlocking your eyes from the mass of squirming appendages to look up at him. “What the actual fuck, Rick?!”
He used his leverage to start hauling you off the floor. “This is just something, listen this is just a friendly little alien who--well, they kind of rent them out, on this one planet. It’s all for sexual pleasure. They’re like living sex toys, baby. They kind of suction cup onto the host. Then they, they feed off the energy expended during sex, they get a huge boost from orgasms--”
“They feel our orgasms? They’re like a parasite? You’re its host now?”
Rick managed to combine a nod and a shake of his head at the same time as he tried to pull you closer. You resisted.
“I’m its host for right now, baby. It’s not permanent. I just thought that it’d be, you know, fun.”
He shuffled closer to you as he spoke. Once again your eyes were glued to his groin. It was weird seeing his familiar cock, balls, and silvery pubic hair framed by independently moving tentacles, each of them still nosing the air. One snaked up his abdomen and dipped into his belly button. He closed the last little bit of distance between the two of you, wrapping his arms around your waist.
The . . . alien . . . was squished in between the two of you. You could still feel its movements, although they were less active now. One of the tentacles probed between your legs.
Rick leaned down to say close to your ear, “I know how much you like hentai, baby. And I’ve seen your browser history--you check out tentacle porn! So come on. Wanna give it a go?”
You shivered, and it was due to his voice vibrating and telling a secret truth next to your ear, and the fact that that rogue tentacle had managed to slip a little upwards, against your pussy.
Wondering how in the hell you actually expected anything to be remotely normal when you started hooking up with Rick Sanchez--and wondering even more what it said about you, to keep doing it--you hesitantly agreed.
With a grin of triumph, Rick captured your mouth and shoved his tongue against yours. The tentacles couldn’t be any more invasive than this!
Shuffling you backwards as he kissed you, the backs of your legs hit the edge of his cot and you sat down heavily. This put you face to groin with his cock and the extra appendages. You’d been ready and willing to blow him before, but now . . .
“Come on, baby,” Rick urged, “open up!”
In for a penny, in for a pound, you recited to yourself. You held your breath and leaned in to take his cock into your mouth.
Instantly the tentacles surrounded your head. This wasn’t anything much worse than when Rick held onto you while you sucked him off; as a matter of fact, they didn’t grip you tightly. There was just enough pressure to remind you they were there--as if multiple smooth, muscular ropes weren’t enough!--but they didn’t clamp on suffocatingly. They wound themselves in your hair. Their tips probed endlessly and while you pulled and sucked at Rick, you had to bat them away from your nostrils and ear canals. They seemed to learn those orifices were off limits.
While Rick groaned above you, you paused to take a breath, and a tentacle used the moment to slip into your mouth.
Startled at first, you gagged and automatically tried to spit it out, but your actions didn’t dislodge it. Once the initial shock of it wore off, however, you realized it was like a combination of cock and tongue: thick and solid, but lithe. Experimentally, you applied some suction to it. That made the rest of them quiver, and Rick cried out.
You glanced up him. His jaw was loose and drool coated his chin. He cranked his eyes open.
“Th-th-that’s it, baby, th-that’s good,” he groaned. He cupped your jaw. One of the tentacles left the side of your head and wrapped around his wrist. “They-these aliens do some-some biofeedback, and your mouth is really fucking amazing--”
You sucked again, harder this time, and Rick’s head lolled backwards. That was kind of interesting, making him feel so good without actually touching any part of him. To see how far and how fast you could go, you steadied the tentacle with your hand and blew it in earnest. The sounds of pleasure Rick made skipped higher and higher, just as if you were sucking his cock. The tentacles still holding you squeezed gently in time with what you were doing. You wondered if they’d orgasm too; what would alien semen be like?
But Rick shoved you away from his groin before you could find out.
“Jesus,” he sputtered, trying to catch his breath. “Gimme a second, baby. This wasn’t all for me!”
He pushed you backwards onto his cot and wedged himself between your legs. Holding himself up with one arm, he used his free hand to finger your pussy, just like he had in the kitchen. You giggled as he rekindled your arousal, rotating your hips to help direct him to exactly where you wanted him to be. He drew circles on your clit and teased you by just barely dipping a fingertip into your cunt.
For a second, you’d forgotten the tentacles, until you felt them probing you as well. One copied him and slipped a tiny bit into you; you gasped and glanced down.
It was still exceedingly odd and borderline creepy to see a familiar body with the addition of extra parts. Rick laughed at your expression.
“It’d fuck you, if I let it,” he explained. “But as good as that feedback loop was, I want to fuck you!”
You dragged your gaze back up to his. “Then what are you waiting for?”
Rick smirked and didn’t say anything negative about your needy, trampy demand because he knew you’d just throw how desperately horny he was back in his face. Instead, he grasped the tentacle easing its way deeper into you--you groaned at the loss; you hadn’t realized how much the writhing muscle felt like a cock--and settled into a more proper position between your thighs.
The tentacles readjusted themselves to not be crushed between the two of you. Two wrapped themselves around your thighs, one on each. They were strong enough to spread your legs, just like every tentacle porn hentai you’d ever seen. Another one snaked up your side and draped itself around one tit, giving it a gentle squeeze.
As Rick steadied himself and slipped his cock into you, opening you up, the one at your chest curled its tip around your nipple, and tightened.
You gasped at the combination of nerve endings firing in pleasure. Rick groaned too, and fucked you slowly at first. You had the fleeting ability to wonder if that whole biofeedback thing was allowing him to feel what you felt, but then he picked up his pace and you couldn’t devote time to thinking about something like that any longer.
As always, Rick fucked you well. He varied his tempo and thrusts to keep pleasure building in your gut by teasing you, then keeping his cock buried to the hilt for beautifully agonizing moments, then pounding you again. You gasped and moaned and urged him on.
The tentacle that had stimulated your nipple wound its way upward, stretching thinner to reach your mouth. The pleasure in you was so much it didn’t faze you when it slipped delicately between your lips. In fact, you automatically closed your mouth on it and sucked at it, like it was one of Rick’s fingers.
The effect on him was immediate. He cried out and shuddered, his entire body tensing. You stopped your suction for a moment, and he cranked his eyes open to look down on you.
“Fucking hell, baby! That was like the tightest--like every single nerve in my dick flared. Do it again!”
You obliged, and Rick yowled. When he came to his senses once more, he used a shaky hand to pull the appendage out of your mouth.
“It’s too much,” he explained, in a tone that was almost ashamed. He draped the tentacle back around your tit as he continued, “I think if you-if you’d kept doing that, I’d have had a heart attack. I’m an old man!”
You giggled and assured him you didn’t want that to happen. He grinned down at you and moved his hips again, rebuilding the speed and intensity he’d done before. The tentacle that’d been in your mouth slithered back downward and its tip found your clit, sending electric bliss through you. The sounds you made were wanton and slutty. Once again you were grateful for Rick soundproofing his bedroom.
You were driven higher and higher towards orgasm, just like Rick. He groaned and fucked you steadily now. The tentacles kept you spread, stimulated your clit, and one probed your ass--
At that, you brought everything to a screeching halt.
“Nope! Nope! No way!” you exclaimed, while Rick tried to catch up with what had just happened to make you tense up, flail, and try to kick yourself away from him.
The tentacles holding your legs didn’t release you, and the one at your clit stopped moving for a moment, which created an odd mix of pleasure and dislike.
“Jesus, baby--what the fuck--”
“No anal!”
The issue finally dawned on him. Rick scooted back and grabbed the one that was still wiggling near your asshole.
“It’s just exploring, trying to increase the pleasure--” he began.
“No anal!” you interrupted. You knew he thought your insistence on that was unreasonable, but you weren’t into it and didn’t like it, no matter how many times he tried to bring it up.
“Okay, baby, I know, I know . . .”
You didn’t know how much, if any, control Rick had over the thing, but it did stop trying to nose around down there. The mood was broken for a moment, except the one at your clit very gently flicked at you again, sending a pleasure through you. You couldn’t help but gasp at it.
Rick groaned too, and murmured, “Baby, look--”
Picking up your head, you looked down your body. The tentacle that had been stopped wriggled out of Rick’s hand and went back to its exploration. Finding Rick’s cock, it twisted itself around him, enveloping him completely, making his cock larger. Thicker.
Rick groaned deep in his chest and you could imagine the subtle pressure encasing him.
“B-baby--shit, what if, what if I--” he started to say, then cut himself off to groan again. With effort, he was able to finish. “--what if I fucked you like this? Oh shit--you like girth, and this, this, this is--oh fuck--!”
Your mouth watered at his suggestion. “Fuck yes!”
With that permission, Rick pushed forward into your cunt again.
It felt like fire and sweetness and pressure and rapture all at once. His cock was so big, stretching you open more than you ever had been before. You cried out in pain and he hesitated, giving you a moment to adjust, before you grabbed at him and told him in a croak to continue. You panted and mewled at what felt like being split up the middle. You’d never felt anything exactly like it. It was so good.
Then, suddenly, Rick and the alien tentacle were buried completely inside you. You keened at the burning pleasure, locking your lower legs around his waist and gripping his shoulders with hands like hooks.
“I’m gonna move now, baby,” Rick muttered huskily, like the pleasure was overwhelming him too.
“No no no!” you begged. “Just stay like this, stay like this--”
So he did. Balls’ deep in your cunt, Rick didn’t fuck you at all. He rested heavily on you, trapping the tentacle that had been playing with your clit between your pubic bones. His thickened cock pushed you to your limits; without your direction you could feel your cunt’s muscles squeeze him, which sent further ecstacy deeper into your gut. The feeling compounded on itself, growing exponentially, it was so good, so good--
Without Rick moving in the least, you exploded into an orgasm the force of which you’d never experienced before. All your muscles contracted, you squirted, and you broke out in tears all at once.
Time stood still. Your pussy burned with continued, pulsating pleasure. Rick was saying something, but there was ringing in your ears and you couldn’t make out his words. You felt like most of your body was drifting, but were anchored by the extra thick cock still inside you. As your orgasm began to fade, you trembled.
Finally you had the wherewithal to wipe your face of the tears, apologizing for it at the same time.
Rick shushed you, and you were finally able to focus on him.
He looked flushed. His pupils were dilated, his breath came in sharp pantings, and he shook too, holding himself up with arms full of tremors. You pulled him downward.
“I fucking came too,” he explained in a voice that sounded like his throat was dry. “Just your reaction, just your cunt and that tentacle crushing me, and your orgasm too . . . holy fucking hell, baby . . .”
You lay together, exhausted, for a bit.
When he was finally able to sit up again, pulling out of you caused another cascade of agonizing pleasure in your groin. You cried out and he batted the tentacle still trying to stimulate your clit away. You and he were both soaked from the fluid you’d produced and his come leaking from you. His bed was a mess.
Gently, carefully, Rick unwound all the appendages from you both and even more carefully, pried the alien off his groin. It left a ring of pinpricks on his skin where it had attached. He set it aside and fell back to the thin mattress beside you. You lay sprawled. Your pussy felt bruised and hot, but you liked it.
“That was something,” you told him lazily, in the post-bliss haze.
“Yeah . . .”
The alien seemed to rest too at the foot of the bed, although occasionally one of its limbs would reach out and caress yours or Rick’s foot. He jumped every time it did; he could be ticklish.
Just before the point that you were thinking you needed to get up to take a shower and change the bed because everything was drenched in bodily fluids, Rick lifted his head and said,
“You wanna give it a try?”
“What?” “Do you want to try it?” he repeated. He jerked his chin to the mass of tentacles.
You pried an eye open to look at him. He was still panting a little. His hair was limp from sweat. He looked completely, thoroughly fucked. You knew you looked the same. But there was a glint in his eye that was tempting . . .
“Did I forget to mention that this particular alien introduces hormones into a male host’s system that reduces or eliminates a refractory period?” Rick continued.
As he spoke, his cock was already filling again. You put a hand on it. It twitched, and he moaned.
“This thing is going to make us fuck to death, isn’t it?” you asked lightly.
“Only if we’re lucky, baby!” he grinned as he sat up and collected the alien. “Now lean back and just relax . . . it takes a second to position it correctly . . .”

Yoga for Osteoporosis - An Interview with Loren Fishman, M.D. and Ellen Saltonstall

Osteoporosis is among the most extensive persistent conditions in the Western hemisphere. Exactly how does yoga aid counteract the impacts of bone loss and osteoporosis? In this interview, Dr. Loren Fishman as well as Ellen Saltonstall, co-authors of Yoga for Osteoporosis, discuss the outcomes of Dr. Fishman's research on yoga for weakening of bones and also a few of the factors to consider and also precautions for individuals with osteopenia or osteoporosis taking into consideration a yoga exercise technique.
Eva Norlyk Smith: You have written a book on Yoga for Osteoporosis and have conducted a major study on the bone-building benefits of yoga exercise on osteoporosis. What made you curious about this subject in the firsts place?
Loren Fishman: Weakening of bones is just one of the most widespread chronic conditions in the Western hemisphere, and it's tough to overemphasize its wellness results. Weakening of bones influences 44 million Americans. That's over half of everyone over the age of 50. It is HALF of all ladies of whatever age and also 25 percent of all males. It influences over 200 million individuals worldwide. So this is big time.
Osteoporosis creates a million fractures every year, many of which are vertebral fractures and also regarding 300,000 are hip cracks. We worry so much concerning bust cancer in females, however, in actuality the risk of a hip fracture is equivalent to the combined threat of bust, uterine and also ovarian cancer cells. And also it's not simply women who go to threat. For men over 50, although we listen to a great deal regarding prostate cancer, guys over 50 are in fact extra likely to have a hip crack than prostate cancer.
Fully 25% of the individuals that have hip fractures pass away. One more 25 percent go into an assisted living home never to leave, so fifty percent of people who acquire a hip crack have an extremely significant life change.
Eva Norlyk Smith: Exactly how does yoga aid counteract osteoporosis?
Loren Fishman: Well, let me count the methods. Most individuals have heard of Wolff's regulation: The architectonic, the architectural assistance of bone, follows the lines of pressure to which that bone is exposed. When bone cells get stimulated via being compressed or turned or extended, they generate more bone mass till that bone gets solid enough, to withstand the pressure. At that factor the pressure no more distorts the bone, and the bone-making cells quit making much more. What a remarkable feedback system. In weakening of bones, the bones flex much more, so pressure is a lot more efficient in boosting the cells to earn bone.
In short, like weightlifting, yoga works by worrying the bone. Yoga stimulates the bone with isometric tightening at almost every possible angle for long periods of time.
Ellen Saltonstall: Just what is usually overlooked in contemporary weight-training workout and absolutely when assessing the impacts of weakening of bones medications, is that there is a difference between framework as well as density. Dexa scans will obtain a measurement of thickness, yet they inform us absolutely nothing about the framework of the bone. Dense bone mass by itself doesn't always supply protection against cracks, unless the bone fibers are laid down in such a way to offer better toughness, the bone mass is not mosting likely to be very stable It resembles the distinction between a pile of steel light beams and also the George Washington Bridge. A bridge has been prepared by designers, so the light beams, when assembled, produce an efficient, completely incorporated framework, which could sustain significant quantities of weight-- because of the toughness developed by the structural interconnections.
In short, thickness as well as structure both issue for bone health. Sadly, we don't have hassle-free means to determine the structure of bones as of. We do have straightforward means to gauge the density. The weakening of bones medicines do function, they lower the danger of crack considerably, but the functional limitations of simply developing bone mass without correct structure and also stamina are completely ignored.
Loren Fishman: Yoga helps grow bone mass, however because yoga exercise positions draw and stretch the bones from every conceivable angle, yoga also might stimulate the development of a bone structure that has the ability to withstand better amounts of pressure, as well as several kinds of challenges.
As we talk about in our program, there countless various other crucial methods which yoga advantages individuals with weakening of bones, such as boosting equilibrium, muscle strength, series of motion as well as control, while reducing stress and anxiety. These are other vital advantages of yoga for people with weakening of bones since they each help in reducing the risk of falling.
Eva Norlyk Smith: Several yoga educators and yoga specialists run under the presumption that twisting postures must be stayed clear of by individuals with weakening of bones. Yet, you claim that spins are fine, also essential for people with weakening of bones. Might you clarify on that?
Ellen Saltonstall: It holds true that numerous people believe that twists are contraindicated. However, we have actually found that spins are extremely beneficial and also bring little bit, if any, danger. Spins provide such an in proportion stress to the vertebral body that it's not a crack risk. As well as though doctors caution their clients with weakening of bones never ever to do any type of turning, there seems to be no actual proof that spins are negative in and of themselves.
Of course, if you're turning and also lifting something at the exact same time, it's a different story. However, yoga exercise spins, as I stated, provide such a balanced stress, we feel that gentle, supported twists are risk-free to do as component of one's yoga exercise practice. And also they are crucial, because they give such a total stimulation to the vertebral body.
Loren Fishman: If you have certain various other back conditions, like a herniated disk, twists can be a problem. If all you have is weakening of bones, there's almost no other way of developing strength and promote bone development than revealing that vertebra to some stress. We do have to avoid forward flexes in individuals with weakening of bones, as well as the side bends they can do are limited. So benting the vertebra is just one of minority ways to obtain all the vertebrae under some compression and also promote bone growth in the vertebrae. This is extremely important, because a lot of weakening of bones fractures take place in the vertebrae.
Over the last Ten Years, we have given yoga techniques including twists to lots of, many individuals, normally over the age of 65, nearly all of which have actually had significant osteoporosis. This has been well over 30,000 hours of yoga. There hasn't been a single incidence of crack, Actually, nothing bad has actually taken place. We have not had one point go incorrect. This is something that both yoga teachers and yoga practitioners need to know.
Ellen Saltonstall: Obviously, the secret to getting the advantages of yoga is to make sure that the yoga exercise positions are performed with proper placement. Every joint in the body as well as every part of the body has an optimum placement as well as this is a clinical procedure. There are several yoga exercise designs that highlight this accuracy of alignment. If the joints are straightened effectively, not only do you obtain finest stimulation of the bones, however you have better equilibrium also. So one instance is the tops of the arms as well as the tops of the legs, i.e. the upper arm bone and also the thigh bone, both return in the outlets of the joints and also when they are rooted securely in the outlets of the joints, the congruency of the joints is better, it's stronger.
Another example of an alignment that we usually make use of is that the breast bones raises, and also this stops that stoop ahead pose that is generally seen in weakening of bones. So those are just 2 instances of placement, certainly, there are a great deal of alignment-based directions that we provide when instructing individuals with osteoporosis that are vital to obtaining the most effective, as well as best, results. For people with osteoporosis, just practicing yoga, without appropriate focus on alignment, could not be such a good idea.
Nothing in this meeting ought to be taken as clinical suggestions. Osteoporosis is a severe condition, always consult a doctor about any kind of medical concerns as well as before beginning any type of workout regimen.
Dr. Fishman is an M.D. as well as an Iyengar-trained yoga exercise teacher, along with the managing companion of Manhattan Physical Medicine and also Recovery. Ellen Saltonstall is an author, a yoga exercise specialist, a senior accredited Anusara yoga exercise instructor and also she holds a master's degree in the area of healing motion education.

Who Tube (Doctor Who YouTube) is hilariously terrible at the moment. You’ve got new fans being gatekept by old fans and then yelling at the old fans and then the old fans yelling back, people subtweeting each other on their channels “Some YouTubers, they know who they are”, people posting vicious rants as soon as episodes end--lots of really really toxic shit on both sides. Like. It’s hilarious--if you enjoy VERY thinly veiled misogyny on one side and blind adoration for progressiveness at the expense of decent writing on the other. If you listen to these people, it’s not very difficult to see where the canon schism between straight white “geek culture” males and anyone with a so labeled by said people SJW motivation come to blows. They both think the other side is just ignorant, and the constant lashing out is just. Wow. It’s really. Wow.
Saltiness ahead.
It frustrates me a lot, because I feel the show has been really hit and miss this season and the warring on YouTube is just another example of how you just can’t discuss this reasonably. It’s not all bad, but it’s certainly been far from all good. Some of it REALLY works, like for example Ryan’s dyspraxia and the decision to explore Yasmin’s character through her grandmother’s story, but some of it doesn’t. I was particularly dismayed today, spoilers, by James I being played through the lens of modern campness by Alan Cumming this week, turning the former monarch into a queer caricature (I know the guy most from his role in Spy Kids, Fegan Floop, which replays ENDLESSLY on british TV). I feel like a lot of the episodes of this season have been simply the characters thrown into chaos, bad guy is revealed to be an alien, then the Doctor gives a shockingly profound, emotional speech that makes you forget how awful some of the other parts were and you go away with ~feels~ and not much else, because all the endings are pulled out of the writer’s ass anyway. Just. That’s how I personally saltily feel about this show this season, like it’s been platforming for a bunch of different writers saying what they want to say about humanity through the Doctor’s mouth. Like she’s ceased to exist beyond her existence as that mouthpiece, and that in some ways the show has too. (just my opinion. anyway.)
But you can’t talk about this stuff. I find myself reading reviews and watching people who like the show and place no accountability on the show beyond being politically bold, and it drives me nuts. It doesn’t matter what form it comes in, so long as it’s pro-feminist, or it exposes people to history they might not have learned in class, or there’s a dude giving birth for 50% of the airtime. If I want to hear or discuss any challenge to those things, I find myself listening to purely negative reviews instead, and noping out when the person suddenly reveals halfway through that they believe that because men aged 18-40 is a big demographic, it only makes sense that they’re the group that are kowtowed to at every opportunity. Like wtf dudes, sorry you can’t hack that other people exist in the world and you aren’t being catered to 24/7 any more. Fuck off. So it’s no wonder the antis feel Doctor Who lovers are all SJWs and the pos!Who people are convinced that the antis are all racist misogynist fucks. (The showrunners do too afaik, and that isn’t helped at all by Chibnall and Jodie both being SO resistant to negativity that neither of them seem to be soliciting fan feedback that isn’t positive.) Is it hard to ask for objectivity, though? For something that comes down the middle? That isn’t racist and misogynistic, but maybe still cares about how the things we’re looking for in terms of representation are being handed to us? How about, at least, not having to listen to some people who are so entitled that they literally think that Jodie Whitaker shouldn’t have shot out any babies so that she can instead devote her entire life to making TV shows? (Seriously, I listened to one girl who thought that, and you could hear her contempt for people who have kids in every syllable.)
I’ve liked episodes of this season. The Kablam! episode was great, I only had minor complaints with the ep that I handwaved away because I felt like there was actually some dramatic tension. I liked episode 2 because it was idk. A fun adventurous romp and the characters all had flaws. I quite liked Rosa because it had the bones of something better, and that showed through in all the scenes where Rosa’s actress (Vinette Robinson, who was also in the Chibnall episode ‘42′, btw what nepotism how many british actors do you think there are?) interacted with the other characters.
But they weren’t all perfect, at least to me. Maybe I’m a negative nelly, because everyone seems to be tripping over themselves to scream positivity about the show in their reviews, but I, personally, feel like much of it has fallen flat. When they did finally drop - as they’ve been avoiding for much of this season - the ‘If I was a bloke this wouldn’t have been a problem’ thing, it wasn’t even delivered with a great deal of gravity or purpose. Maybe some people think that was a good thing, I don’t know, but looking at the way sexism was handled in Timeless, for example, and hell, Sliders (which was a trashy 90s show about jumping between alternate realities; or Quantum Leap for that matter, which had Sam jump into the lives of women in the past and experience days in their lifetimes), it’s way past the era of TV to deliver that kind of line like it’s inconsequentially drawing attention to something nobody noticed before, you know? Why is the BBC always 100 years behind, despite playing like it’s the most progressive thing ever? Why do we let it, and say “Sure we’ll take it, that’s enough” instead of also insisting they tell GOOD stories, and not wave their hand and say aliens did it at the end of every episode? I get it’s a time traveling series but the aliens show up and then the doctor waves her magic wand and ~science~ and yes she quoted Arthur C Clarke but she can do that and be powerful and tell powerful stories that aren’t completely...halfhearted, and if you don’t have trumped up stupid bad guys you don’t have to have flimsy solutions for beating them at the end.
We SHOULD be seeing ourselves in the media we’re absorbing. I firmly believe that. I also think, though, that we’re entitled to be respected by that media as well, in that the stories we’re seeing that show US should be good stories. They shouldn’t be concentrating on making as many nods as possible to as many corners of culture as possible that it stops caring about the story it’s telling, because whatever politically correct points it scores will ensure people overlook its flaws. It’s disrespectul, and we shouldn’t allow it, because it means we’re nothing but a commodity, an unquestioning storyblind audience that just doesn’t care so long as our representation needs are getting catered to. That means we’ll keep getting more representation, but a lot of it will be shit, because no matter what we’ll throw up our hands and give it ten out of ten and rigorously defend it no matter what caricatures it throws in front of us.
We should demand better stories alongside our representation. Fandom is so powerful now that we’re being written for, because as a whole we aren’t objective. We engage in mass squeeing, we’re GREAT at giving positive feedback and high ratings like it’s our job to do it even if it’s undeserved (and arguably Who NEEDED that positive feedback this year) and best of all anyone who doesn’t agree can be written off as an angry white dude, or racist, or just ignorant. That’s good for ratings and good for clicks, and networks eat that stuff up because it makes them money. But that isn’t respect, and we shouldn’t be selling ourselves out for a bargain basement price.
That’s my last word on it for now. I’ll probably complain again next week, and I know I KNOW this isn’t a popular pov for people, but I’ve made my bed with that. For those of you who loved it, I’m glad for you. I’m mostly disappointed for myself. And I still think camp James I was fucking terrible but I already know people love him, so what do I know?
P.S. my tags are for my flist so they can blacklist properly, not to force my saltiness down the throats of other Who fans. You don’t have to agree with me. I just needed to vent.
#wank for ts#doctor who#doctor who spoilers#dw spoilers#not spn#i'm a giant salty butt combo#cause see the thing is i love the idea of a female who#and i am conflicted cause obviously fake it till you make it#but i also find it so fucking insincere from the bbc and from the writers#and you know that poisons those big FEELS moments for me#when the Doctor goes into quotable mode and starts rambling off stuff about humanity#it all seems just so faked to me#but other people love it i guess#i look at the way eccleston's doctor ruminated on humanity for guidance you know#it's just a completely different animal and it makes me sad to see it cheered#when i feel like it's just so so empty#i am sad about it#so cheap

Bravery Despite The Wilderness
“Stop walking through the world looking for confirmation that you don’t belong. You will always find it because you’ve made that your mission. Stop scouring people’s faces for evidence that you are not enough. You will always find it because you have made that your goal. True belonging and self-worth are not goods; we don’t negotiate their value with the world. The truth about who we are live in our hearts. Our call to courage is to protect our wild heart against constant evaluation, especially our own. No one belongs here more than you do.” - BRENE BROWN. BRAVING THE WILDERNESS.
Full transparency: I am tired y’all! Not just sick of the “new normal” tired. Not I had a busy week and need a quiet weekend, tired. Not the kids have been rambunctious all week, we need a vacation, tired. I am tired, tired. I am tired of physically battling chronic illness. I am tired of mentally rationalizing that any of this “new normal” is normal. I am tired of emotionally shutting down because it’s “all just too much right now” while new blows continue landing. I am battle worn and it clearly shows. My hair hasn’t been washed or combed in almost two weeks. I have masses of hair on areas of my body where there should not be any. I change from running leggings back into lounging sweats and live there. I haven’t scheduled an appointment with my doctor in almost a year. I haven’t seen friends in months now. I. Am. Tired. and it shows by my lack of self-care.
Everyone wanted to make a big deal when Brittany Spears chopped off her hair. They said she was crazy, off the rails, unstable. What if? What if she had forgotten to take care of herself so long that she had no choice but to cut it off? What if her shaving her head was the first step she took toward loving herself in months? What if what you thought was the downward spiral for her, was actually the start of a healing journey, by caring for her hair for the first time in a long time? I may have gotten to the point of the big chop myself. We all forgo ourselves when we feel bad, scientifically proven. So how does one exactly go about walking bravely through the wilderness when they look and feel like a homeless crackhead? Where we always start: exactly where we are.
Merriam-webster.com defines “bravery” as: “the quality or state of having or showing mental or moral strength to face danger, fear, or difficulty : the quality or state of being brave : COURAGE.” Brittany was courageous. She looked in the mirror and realized where she was. She knew exactly what she had to do to fix it, and she just did the fucking work. She knew she would become a mockery before she cut it. Honestly, I don’t think she wanted to, but knew she had to. That’s why I personally think she sat window side in the salon. She was inviting the world in to watch her transform, knowing y’all would mock her. She moved forward despite the fear. She is brave. She walked in her wilderness. Her truth. Be like Brittany. Go chop your hair- Er… I mean go do self-care!
Wait, wait! No. Not bubble baths, candles and cheat meals. Yeah, okay. I mean those are good too, but they are not really the self-care I’m talking about. That’s marketing mumbo jumbo to get you to purchase the hope of “feeling better” so they can make some money. The self-care I’m talking about involves YOU, not THINGS for you. Down the rabbit hole we go!
Caring for our feelings. Western society teaches that you become stronger when you push your emotions down and bury them. You show maturity or valor for not having a biologically programmed response to a trauma. They paint an image that as you pick up all this emotional baggage you become stronger, wiser and smarter. The actual truth without the sprinkles: You are turning yourself into a trash dump for toxicity. Pushing down feelings does not do anything but create a pressure cooker. Be brave enough to hit the release valve. Sit with your feelings and find the value/moral that is being triggered. Remember yesterday’s message about emotions- feelings are just signposts to keep us on the path toward our values. Seeds fall to the ground in nature all the time. They do not grow from the fall, but from the nurturing of water and light. Your feelings too need airing out to stop weighing you down and inspire growth. Bring them to light and water them by setting healthy boundaries when your values are being tested.
Caring for our boundaries. Everyone pushes our buttons from time-to-time. We sometimes offend people when we don’t mean to. Sometimes people have the best intentions but lack an adequate understanding to actually help. People are people. We are all broken. That’s why I talk so much about the importance of giving and receiving grace. But what about the people or situations that aren’t just annoying or confusing? What about the people who no matter the time of day, they leave you drained? The ones who consistently go on doing the things that directly trigger your values, after you’ve told them it hurts. The ones who exhibit behaviors by choice. Do you know who they are? No? Start a journal of your emotional triggers, you’ll find them quickly! Once you do know, create a cushion, do not go on a blocking rampage. I mean it! Just create a space for you to be in control of how their bullshit comes through the fan of life at you. That’s what it is, a bullshit storm that they know will draw you back into their castle so they don’t have to be alone in misery. Don’t fall for it. If it’s not helpful to you, it’s just distracting bullshit. Dig a moat and stay on your side. You do not have to answer that facetime call. You do not have to respond to that text message. You. Can. Say. No. Especially when you really mean it. You have to control the fan here, not the shit flying through it at your face.
Opening to vulnerability. I know we all HATE, hate, hate this emotion. We loathe it. We conjure up images of death, disappointment, fear, loss of control. We hide it and bury it until an “acceptable” breaking point, usually a tragedy. I personally struggle with vulnerability. The second you see me fall off the social radar, I’m struggling. I shut down and close out. I suffer alone as to not spread around my negativity. Sound familiar? What really is this monster of an emotion that we all want to keep a light on at night around? Mark Manson so eloquently describes it as: “Vulnerability is consciously choosing to NOT hide your emotions or desires from others. That’s it. You just freely express your thoughts, feelings, desires, and opinions regardless of what others might think of you.” Vulnerability is simply authenticity. Do you still hate it?
Times of fear and uncertainty. I’ll say it just because we are all already so sick of it: RONA. It has been 299 days that our family has been social distancing, working, schooling, eating, exercising, growing and bickering, through a global pandemic. 299 days of news and media propaganda spewing. 299 days of losing the very things that we thought were safe. 299 days we have been watching the economy dump wondering if our financial situation would turn. That is uncertainty. That is palpable fear- a signpost that our values are disrupted. So what do we do? We feel, decide and adapt; just as we were created to do.
Every positive has a negative. Our brains automatically work on a negative feedback loop. Western social norms go against the way we are organically wired. Most of what we think we know is wrong and it has been scientifically proven. We learned all of this together since the beginning of the new year. We have grown. Now that we know better, we have to choose to do better. That’s the work. We cannot go on doing the same things and expecting a different result, that’s insanity. Take the first step into your wilderness. Instead of seeing the losses of 2020, see the opportunities that it made room for. Take one step forward from exactly where you are today. Take another tomorrow. Every day take one step. Prioritize your time to include yourself. Be brave. Hit that do not disturb button. Tell a friend that you are struggling and honestly answer their questions of concern to sit with your feelings. Schedule that walk with a friend you’ve put off for too long. It takes bravery to prioritize yourself but you and your values are worth it. Do the fucking work and ignore the superego!
That’s self care. Not bath bombs.

X-Tech: Never Possible Until it is
THU JAN 02 2020
I just watched the latest video by YouTuber, Isaac Arthur, who I’ve been following for years, and greatly respect, addressing time travel, but while he tried to cover every version of time travel that comes up in science fiction, and in legit scientific discourse... he did not cover the version I talk about in this blog.
I was a bit surprised, but then again, mine (explained in the entry entitled, Time Travel Basics, and fleshed out in some follow ups shortly after it) is basically the John Titor version of time travel.
And over the 13 or so years since I first read the Titor stuff online, I’ve noticed that nobody, either in fiction, or legit discourse, ever does venture anywhere near the Titor model... which is kinda strange, given that so many other, clearly unworkable models pop up all the time.
It’s not as though the Titor model is just so ridiculous that it’s not even worth considering... because, well... plenty of very ridiculous models for time travel are given very serious consideration, in our movies and science fiction novels, if not elsewhere.
Still, the original message boards where Titor appeared, to talk about how he was a time traveler, and explain what he knew about how his military issue time distortion unit worked, were forums for physics students and physics enthusiasts.
And what always struck me reading the back and forth on those forums was that nobody ever challenged his technical explanations. Everybody seemed to agree that the physics part of his story held up.
But that part was way over my head at the time, so I was very curious to understand why the physics seemed to hold up so well.
It took me most of those 13 years, watching recorded lectures and other videos on YouTube, and listening to several audio books on my commutes, dealing with different aspects of both quantum physics and string theory... before it finally clicked in my head, and I could see that Titor’s explanation not only squared with physics, but so did the schematics he’d provided.
Again, go back and read, Time Travel Basics, but, in a nutshell, it’s this idea of using two micro black holes... controlled by manifolds that inject electrons either into them, to increase their spin, or at angles across their event horizons, to slow the spin... to create two nested bubbles of frame-dragged spacetime, the inner one with positive time, and the outer one with negative time.
I won’t get further into it than that here, except to say that the one thing Titor talked about that always stumped me were the gravity sensors.
Inside his two nested bubbles of spacetime, he was essentially in his own tiny universe, outside the main universe, but was able to maintain a lock on the Earth’s movements backward through time (rotating backward and revolving around the sun backward as the whole solar system revolved backward around the center of the galaxy) thanks to gravity sensors that would give feedback to the manifolds, telling them how to maneuver the two micro-singularities to stay with the GPS coordinates on Earth’s surface, from which he had departed.
I finally got my answer one morning in the car on the way to work, listening to an audio book on string theory, when the author explained how, unlike light, gravity could be felt between branes (or membranes) of space time.
It’s one possible explanation for why gravity is such a weak force on our own brane, compared to much stronger forces like electromagnetism... because gravity leaks out into the greater, “bulk,” of the multiverse.
He didn’t know it, but he’d told me that Titor’s gravity sensors could work... which was the final piece of the puzzle.
Everything else, from creating micro-singularities in particle accelerators, and capturing them magnetically, for industrial use... to manipulating their spin, mass, and attitude with a manifold of cathode rays (such manifolds were how old color tube TV sets worked)... to the nuclear powering of the device... to the many worlds theory... all passed, for being physically plausible. So when the gravity sensors checked out too... well, that’s when I knew Titor was probably telling the truth.
So why am I so alone in this belief, in 2020... and why has the whole Titor model pretty much vanished from the conversation?
Well... this is what you might expect to happen when a person with a working model of something tries to explain it to people from the past who just aren’t there yet.
Imagine going back to the year 2000, and explaining on a serious tech forum how a typical smart phone from 2010 works... it’s a got a touch screen, and a bunch of gyros and sensors packed inside, and a lithium battery and... bla bla bla...
Even though they are all well versed on the subject of tech, and are only about seven years away from the first smart phone... it’s likely that nobody will take your strange new idea seriously.
Some will point out how certain features are just too far away... and the internet infrastructure couldn’t support such a thing... and the level of miniaturization isn’t realistic... and the batteries would be volatile and prone to explosions.
Others will argue that even if such a device could be Frankensteined together, nobody would want one device to do everything. Nobody wants to watch TV shows on their alarm clock, that is also their flashlight!
Why would they be like that? Well... you know how people are.. when they consider themselves the experts and the vanguards of a given field.
Who are you anyway? You’re just some rando who claims to own one of these so-called, “smart phones,” and you don’t even know how it works.
You’re just a fanciful futurist describing some fanciful vision for a thing that would be nearly impossible to make, and totally impractical, probably, and that nobody asked for. Get out of here!
My other example would be explaining how a modern airplane works, to scientists in... say... 1875. Even if you were spot on with your description of a typical 737... with its wings, aelerons, flaps, jets, etc... its hydraulic control tubes and its aluminum body... fueled by a petroleum based liquid stored in its wings...
They would counter by explaining to you why none of that would actually work, and even if it could... nobody would ever convince a hundred regular civilians to climb into such a death trap and “fly” from New York to Los Angeles... in “hours.”
Get the fuck out of here!
My argument here, about experts and vanguards rejecting working ideas from the future... is kind of borne out by how far off the mark they always are, when asked to envision future tech.
Such visions are always hilariously wrong, because they are always clearly based on exactly what they know in the moment... plus what little they know about a few experimental things going on.
But they never think about the unforeseen breakthroughs, both large and small, that can help make seemingly ridiculous things like the Boeing 737, or the IPhone 4, possible, practical, and marketable.
The above two analogies are not perfect though, because in John Titor’s case, he was in the military, using a military issue time machine. It wasn’t a tech civilians even knew about, necessarily... and also, as I said earlier, there really wasn’t any push back from the nerds on his forums about the physics.
They agreed it was theoretically sound enough not to bother attacking, and instead focused on his descriptions of the future... his past... all the world events to come later in the 2000s, 20-teens, and beyond.
And, while he answered honestly, he also explained that his appearance in 2000 meant they were all now on a different world line, that would not play out the same way.
His recollections were framed as predictions... and when the predictions didn’t come to pass... Titor was considered by most, debunked.
Some argued for a while... correctly, that they were never predictions, because he explained that we were on a different world line than his. But... others countered, by pointing out how this argument makes his predictions unfalsifiable... which, in logical terms, means they’re garbage.
The whole discussion ended there... without ever really touching the mainstream consciousness. John Titor was considered, by those who knew about him, to be just a fun hoax... and, like any other meme... fell out of fashion and was forgotten.
But my point is... he had schematics! He had sound explanations for how the tech worked! Screw the predictions... or arguments that the predictions are unfalsifiable! The tech holds up! Look at that! Talk about that!
Look at the rather flawless descriptions of how it came to be invented, what it was being used for, and what it was like to operate a time distortion unit, from the perspective of the guy in the driver’s seat.
It really irks me that everybody has both ignored and forgotten about that very tangible, testable part of Titor’s story... and then come back today with those same tired old arguments like, “If time travel were possible, we would have heard from one of them by now!”
Oh, really?
“If it were possible, we would have time tourists all over the place, and always would have, since Ancient Rome.”
Really? Cuz... what if it was just a military tech not available to the public and what if it only had a small practical range of a few decades... as explained both by Titor, and by my Time Travel Basics entry? Huh?
Huh???
Well... I guess I’m just gonna have to be content with being a crackpot, with no audience. :(
Be that as it may, my model predicts that WW2 is the great historical barrier for time travel... with only a few rogue time travelers daring to go even as far back as the late 1940s... where they could still hope to refill their oxygen tanks, and get some kind of crude repairs done to their time distortion units.
Most only go as far back as the mid 1970s, with a few outliers hitting the 60s or 50s, and probably never finding their way back to anything like the home worldline they came from, after straying that far afield with no way to establish their, “divergence” to any useful degree.
But the twenty-teens were (are, will be) a good pit stop... the Denver, or Phoenix of Time Travel... if it were a coast to coast drive across the U.S... because things were (are, will be) just advanced enough to stop and get your bearings, or resupply, or get repairs done... but far enough away from the home time (which is the late 2030s) to bother stopping.
It’s possible that the 2020s will be the same kind of Denver for time travelers of, say, the 2050s... and that the 2030s themselves will be a Denver for time travelers of the 2080s... but if so... these more sophisticated time travelers from further in the future will probably be a lot more careful about the cybernetic impact of their pit stops in these future decades.
In other words, they’ll be more careful not to turn the internet, and therefore the world around them, into a total circus of unreality, in which all the locals question their sanity every day on a regular basis.
Things should calm down for us, in the 2020s, is what I’m saying... at least in the socio-political sphere. The climate’s gonna be something different, but...
...whereas in the twenty-teens you were saying, “I can’t believe so and so is the leader of my country and so many assholes are coming out of the woodwork, and the rest of us feel unmoored from reality, as if we’ve been sucked into a parallel universe!”
In the 2020s you’re more likely to be saying, “I can’t believe we had a thunder snowphoon in July, and that Lake Eerie is on fire, but thank God the world’s leaders are on top of this, and have the support of pretty much everybody, except for the oldest, shittiest cranks who we all ignore.”
And maybe you’ll also be saying, “Thank God, also for [X-tech] without which everybody would be so fucked right now!”
Man, that was a long ramble!
Sorry.
I’m going to bed.
