im thinking about saikis messed up relationship with romance on this fine night🫶
imagine him developing a crush on someone FIRST but since he can hear their thoughts and knows they dont already like him back, he thinks that that means they never will
because since he hears things so to the point all the time, he doesnt understand the natural progression of relationships and he thinks itd be weird and manipulative if he tried to get someone to like him while he can literally read their mind (which makes sense because there WOULD be a very thin line to tread..)
so he just avoids them and tries to get over it even though there mightve been a good chance that they couldve started liking him soon or even did but hadnt realized it yet themself.......

Okayyyy :)
Matsuzaki worries for Kusuo. He’s essentially mute as far as he knows, and he’s fainted before at the Sports Festival. It’s why he tends to get after Nendo or Shun for being too rambunctious with Kusuo, just in case it gets too much for him
It’s also why he looks out for potential bullying around Kusuo. Matsuzaki has been a teacher long enough to know that any kid that seems ‘off’ is usually targeted
Matsuzaki used to let Nendo grab any of the bugs inside to let them out, but then Nendo started to try and show his bestie. He puts a stop to it after Kusuo faints once more out of pure fear
His office is always open to everyone. Kusuo hasn’t ever taken up the offer, but Shun and Aren have before
After a while of walking into Shun, Nendo, and Aren doing God knows what while Kusuo watches, he no longer has to scold them verbally. Now, he just gives them a blank look and they shuffle out awkwardly
There was a stray dog on campus once, and “No, Nendo, we cannot have a school mascot”
He’s had to walk Shun through his fair share of panic attacks. Shun is anxious and flighty, so sometimes it just gets too much and he starts to freak out. Matsuzaki has taught him breathing exercises
Can and will stick up for his kids against other teachers. Matsuzaki has learned that teenagers tend to actually listen when they’re spoken to like human beings. Who knew?
He used to worry that Nendo was bullying Kusuo, but then he notices that when there’s a drastic change in schedule, he tends to stick close to the big guy. (Yes, I’m saying Nendo is a comfort person for Kusuo. He never changes and Kusuo clings to that)
Shun, Aren, and Kusuo all have a reaction to being scolded that worries Matsuzaki.
Shun tends to hunch over and shake. It does pull on Matsuzaki’s heartstrings, so he tries to stay gentle with him
Aren doesn’t get angry like he would expect. You can tell he’s listening and maybe even that he’s pissed, but he just tenses up and stays silent. There’s something like fear in his eyes that makes Matsuzaki worry
The few times he’s had to scold Kusuo, the kid’s eyes just blank out. Whenever Matsuzaki yells, even if it’s not out of anger nor directed at him, Kusuo just seems empty
He trusts Nendo to take care of Kusuo, and to an extent, Shun. Nendo can get Shun speaking up and with confidence, and he can bring Kusuo out of his periods of dissociation
He knows it’s not on their medical records, but he still accommodates for Kusuo and Aren. He lets Kusuo slink away to the corner when he seems frazzled, and lets him go to the library when it’s just too loud. He lets Aren do his work in his office so that way he’ll be able to sit down and actually do it
Matsuzaki tends to casually mention assignments that are close to being due when Aren is around. It’s not enough to make Aren feel singled out, but it has given him many “oh shit” moments because he forgot about it
He once accidentally fell asleep in class during a study period. People wanted to mess with him originally, but Aren, Kokomi, and Kineshi got the room to be silent so this guy could get some rest for once

Today’s morning is bright, and Saiki’s walk is quiet. Typically this would be no cause for concern. A quiet walk to school is few and far between, difficult to come by given the company he keeps. (He’d much prefer a calmer bunch, if he were granted the chance to choose, but that is neither here nor there.) Don’t misunderstand: he’d bask in this brief peace, guaranteed to be broken the moment he passes through the gates of PK Academy, if the reason for this uncharacteristic period of silence comes about because of the absence of one particular person—someone who, if one could hardly believe it, Saiki actually prefers to have around more often than not.
He walks past the street which leads to your home, his pace never slowing because he expects you’ll join him, as you do every morning. You’ll wait for him on the corner and smile widely like you haven’t seen him in weeks then skip towards him, falling in step easily. He’ll remain nonplussed as you hug his arm, give it a brief squeeze as you greet him—Good morning, Kusuo!—and then promptly let go because you understand he likes his space but you just can’t help but indulge a little bit.
However, none of the aforementioned events play out this Friday. You’re not on the street corner, not there to smile and fall in step with him. There’s no arm hugging or a bubbly greeting Saiki pretends he isn’t affected by. But the truth is that he is, the routine coming somewhat as a comfort, even at the price of sacrificing some of his beloved personal space. So when you’re nowhere to be found his brows furrow and he wonders where you are.
His steps slow until he comes to a complete stop. He wants to check up on you, sooner rather than later. There isn’t much time to delay if he wants to make it to school before the first bell, but this won’t take long. He crosses his eyes, activating his clairvoyance, and he centers in on you immediately. You’re still at home. You’re at home, and you’re sick.
A box of tissues rests on your nightstand and you’ve pulled your small trash can right next to it from where it usually stands by your door. You toss used tissues into it before nestling beneath your blankets, pulling it up to just below your chin and hugging it close in order to retain heat. Your breath evens out quickly and he can tell you’re asleep. Your body must be exhausted dealing with your cold, and he’s confident this is the way you will be the rest of the day—drifting in and out of sleep, dealing with the sniffles and congestion.
He blinks and loses sight of you and now he’s staring once more down the road. Readjusting his bag on his shoulder with a sigh, he resumes walking and thinks about his plans for the day. As it was the last day of the school week, he’d planned to go to Cafe Mami for coffee jelly to celebrate. But now that he’s learned you’re sick in bed, he’d have to make adjustments. Momentarily he debates if that’s really necessary. You probably wouldn’t want visitors in the state you’re in, and knowing you, you’d tell him to go to the cafe without you to enjoy himself anyway. The thought is tempting, truly, yet he can’t shake the urge to check on you.
It feels less like an obligation and more like a simple desire of his own to make sure you’re okay. Saiki shakes his head, more amused than frustrated. There’s no one else for whom he would so willingly do this, or much else, for, and he doesn’t think he’d ever tell you because you’ll tease him the way you are wont to do whenever his facade cracks and he’ll let you have your fun because when you ask if you’re really so different as to make him act this way, the answer is, well, yes. You are.
He imagines this scenario and the corner of his lips lifts in a small smile. Good grief. You could be quite the handful.
“Hey, Saiki!”
Nendo’s voice is entirely too loud for the morning and Saiki heaves another sigh, one that sounds as though it belongs at the end of the day and not the beginning. Nendo is joined close behind by Kaidou and Kuboyasu, and they easily fill the silence with discussions about going to get ramen after class and the latest movements of the Dark Reunion. Saiki really only picks up words here and there that allude to the topic of conversation but it doesn’t require his full attention. It’s the same song and dance every morning.
The commotion once he arrives at school is much the same. During lectures he is afforded the temporary reprieve from having his ears talked off, since the only one speaking is the teacher, but at breaks, the noise resumes, and though he always stays sitting at his desk, in hopes the others will get the hint that he’s uninterested in chatting, they inevitably crowd themselves around it, until he is right in the middle.
Hairo has outlined a new workout regimen and in his louder than normal volume of speaking he shares it. He’s going to start it today, and if anyone wants to join, they’re more than welcome. It doesn’t look like anyone wants to take the offer, which is expected. Hairo’s exercise routines were… a little extreme.
In any case, Hairo is nonplussed by the lack of enthusiasm from everyone else and remarks he can’t wait for the end of the school day.
“I think I’ve been losing muscle tone,” he laments, and he complements this statement with a casual flex of his arm, more so to point out the specific areas he thinks are getting soft rather than to show off, but even if he isn’t trying, his biceps are bulging and if his sleeves hadn’t been rolled up, they would have torn.
Saiki’s brow raises. Yeah… I don’t think that’s an issue for you, Hairo.
“I’ve just finished installing an indoor gym at my home, you know.”
Everyone turns to find Saiko has entered into the circle, a smug smirk on his face. When had he gotten here? Really it’s only Hairo who has any sort of reaction to this, eyes practically sparkling imagining the machines and equipment (or maybe that’s just the glare from the fluorescent classroom lights). All the same, Saiko relishes the attention, boasting of the privacy and space and how really, it’s so much easier to be productive if there’s no one else there but Saiki can only wonder if Saiko even works out at all. He doesn’t remember that being mentioned, and Saiki is nothing if not detail oriented.
Saiki doesn’t have long to ponder over this (not that it would’ve continued much longer because he doesn’t actually care about whether Saiko exercises or just set up a gym in his house to brag) before Nendo asks where you are.
Had he just noticed? You always join them on their walk in the morning. But Saiki can’t say he’s surprised it took this long. What he is surprised about is that Nendo had noticed in the first place.
“Oh that’s right,” Kuboyasu adds. “I thought she just went ahead of us today.”
Yumehara informs them of your whereabouts before Saiki does. “She texted me this morning she wasn’t feeling well so she stayed home.” Her phone dings with a new message and she glances at it, then looks back up. “But she says she’s a little more awake now!”
“It’s the Dark Reunion.” Kaidou’s sudden interjection draws everyone’s attention. He clenches his right fist, staring at the bandages wrapped around it. “They’re trying to get to me by going after my friends!”
Saiki remains expressionless but if he didn’t have such good control he would’ve rolled his eyes. Or maybe she just has a cold.
Upon Kaidou’s claim that a secret society is responsible for your illness, Saiki picks up Yumehara’s thoughts: I wish I was the one Kaidou was so worried about! Maybe if I got sick he’d worry about me too! Getting sick to grab Kaidou’s attention? That’s… going overboard, but Saiki can’t find it in him to be shocked, considering from whose mind this speculation has sprung.
“Poor [Name],” Teruhashi says, kind as always. She sets an index finger on her chin, gaze momentarily aimed upwards as she thinks. “I was about to suggest we all go to the cafe after school today and I wish she could join.”
This gives Saiki pause. Wait. The cafe?
“That sounds like a great idea!” Yumehara declares. Again Saiki hears her thoughts: If we go, I need to do my best sit next to Kaidou!
Whether a visit to Cafe Mami comes across as a good idea because it’s a fun way to celebrate the end of the school week or simply because Teruhashi suggested it, Saiki doesn’t know, but one by one the murmurs of assent resound through the group and he barely contains a relieved huff. He’d already changed his own plans from visiting the cafe to seeing you instead, and it’s a good thing too since it’s apparent his alone time would’ve been ruined. Now he has an excuse not to stick around.
Once the final bell rings, they begin their walk into town towards the cafe. The sidewalk feels crowded with all of them on it, and they have to split into pairs to keep the opposite side of the sidewalk free for people going the other way. Among comments from everyone else about how hungry they are, Saiki makes known his intention to just pick up food before leaving. There’s somewhere he needs to be.
“You’re going to go make sure [Name] is doing okay!” Teruhashi exclaims. It’s a statement, not a question. “That’s sweet of you.”
Saiki shrugs. “Sweet” is not the first word he would associate with his actions. It just seems like common sense to check on you. You’d looked miserable this morning, but he takes your message to Yumehara earlier as a good sign that you’re improving, slowly and surely. Still, he’d be more comfortable seeing you himself. He hadn’t gotten any other chances today to use his clairvoyance, but at least it wouldn’t be long now until he’d be heading to your house.
Chisato is working today and she seats everyone. Saiki goes directly to the counter to place his order—coffee jelly for him and strawberry mochi for you—and he stands off to the side while waiting for the treats to be packed. The others are sitting on the far side of the cafe (in his peripherals he sees Yumehara has taken a seat right next to Kaidou) but he can hear them clear as day discussing what food they should order. Yes, he’s certainly glad he won’t be sticking around. Spending Friday in the midst of that noise is far from ideal.
Holding the bag of coffee jelly and mochi in one hand, Saiki uses the other to push open the door, the bell jingling gently, and someone, Nendo it sounds like, raises their voice to shout across the room: Seeya later, Saiki! Then the door closes behind him, and all he can hear is the footsteps of other pedestrians and the low whoosh of cars.
He exhales slowly. Peace at last. He proceeds in the direction of your home, and when he thinks to himself that any longer and his ears might’ve begun to bleed, he’s only half joking.
In the neighborhood it’s much quieter, the only person he passes being someone walking their dog, and only a couple of cars drive past. He knocks on the door and he assumes you’re in your room and so it will take some time for you to open it, but you’re there faster than he expects. You open it just wide enough to stand in the gap, and immediately he notices the fatigue in your eyes. When you realize it’s him, they light up, and the fatigue fails to take away from the brightness of your smile as you open the door wider.
“Kusuo!”
Inside, he sees you’ve moved downstairs to the living room. That’s why you’d answered the door so quickly. There’s a pile of blankets on the couch and a tissue box on the coffee table. The television is on and playing an animation. He doesn’t recognize it, but it must be one of the new ones you mentioned wanting to watch. However, you’re not interested in it now that he's here and you grab the remote to turn down the volume.
“I thought you were going to the cafe today,” you state, head tilting.
Saiki shakes his head. Change of plans. Instead I brought the cafe to us. He holds up the bag of food and doesn’t have to tell you what’s in it. You squeal in delight that he’s come bearing treats, but the sound is a little raspy and awkward due to your sore throat. It’s still easier on Saiki’s ears than the earlier commotion he’d been surrounded with and, if he’s honest, it’s cute.
You plop down on the couch and wait as he joins you. He unties the bag and opens the box, first taking out the packaged pink mochi and handing it to you. Then he grabs his coffee jelly and the plastic spoon it came with before settling back against the cushions.
You sit cross-legged facing him and bite into your soft and squishy treat, humming delightedly. “Thanks, Kusuo.”
Saiki chews a mouthful of coffee jelly and glances at you.
You grin and hold up the mochi. “For the snack and for coming to see me.”
He shrugs because it’s no big deal. Or, well, he tries to play it off like it’s no big deal. But you know him better than that, better than most others do, and don’t brush it off so quickly. You breathe out dramatically and set a hand on your chest.
“What must I have done for Kusuo Saiki to give up his quiet time for me?” Then you giggle, and it’s punctuated at the end by a sniffle.
He tells you there would’ve been no quiet time at the cafe since the others had also decided to go, and that you’re much better company. Even when I’m sneezy? you ask him, and he chuckles. Yes, even when you’re sneezy.
His remark about coming to see you because he’d prefer to be here and not at the cafe with the rest of your friends is merely part of the truth. The rest of it is that he did genuinely want to check on you to make sure you were okay. Though to give this a voice felt like too much for someone typically so reserved in his feelings, but you understand perfectly fine as you smile softly. You’re appreciative of his actions, and it would seem Teruhashi had been right about them, for you murmur that he reminds you of the mochi you’re eating: You’re so sweet!
Grabbing your mug from the coffee table, you frown when you see it’s empty. “I ran out of tea.”
Saiki sets the spoon and now empty container back in the box then holds his hand out. You blink, momentarily confused, but when it registers what he’s doing, you give him the mug. As he stands to make his way into the kitchen, you call after him.
“Thank you!”
Having been to your house a number of times already, he knows where everything is and starts brewing a fresh cup of tea. You’ve turned the volume up on the television again, but you have to rewind to return of the spot you were at before he’d arrived. Once he comes back with a filled mug, instead of allowing it to continue to play, you pause your show.
You’d snuggled beneath the blankets and have to finagle your arms out of the multiple layers to take the mug from him. You say thanks again and blow gently at the tendrils of steam floating from it. The ceramic is warm in the palms of your hands and you sigh contentedly.
“Sorry I’m a little high maintenance today,” you apologize suddenly. “I’d make the tea myself but I just have such little energy…”
Saiki wishes you wouldn’t apologize because there’s nothing to be sorry for. So he tells you as much. Don’t apologize. Besides, he’d offered to make that tea, and if you wanted soup, he’d offer to make that too. He does understand where you come from, however. You tend to be more independent, opting to do things yourself, and you also know his propensity for being alone and needing space. As such, you’re careful not to be overbearing, and the idea of Saiki doing even little tasks like brewing you tea bothers you.
It’s endearing, the level of care you take to make sure he’s comfortable too, but when he says you’re far from high maintenance, he means it. You immediately understand what he’s implying and laugh before scooting closer and leaning your head on his shoulder.
“Okay, point made,” you concede. With a small smile, Saiki grabs the remote you’d tossed down on the couch and presses play.
He would struggle to call you high maintenance on any day considering who your friends are. They’re loud and all over the place, practically bouncing off the walls. Life could hardly be tranquil when around them and their antics. It’s the total opposite of Saiki, who values calm and silence. If they were high maintenance, he was low maintenance. That’s the way he prefers to be, existing in relative quiet and as close to mediocrity as he can muster. But he can't say he’s opposed to the occasional interruption to the otherwise mundane, especially where it concerns you. You’re not to be found on one side or the other, but right in the middle, and to Saiki, you are just right.

Rough Draft SAIDOU
I think it's a shame that people haven't done that much, or any, A/B/O for Saiki K. So here I am. Alpha Saiki, Omega Kaidou. I'm posting this because I forgot where I was going with this, so who knows maybe someone mighht give me an idea.
Saiki loves coffee jelly, he adores everything about it. The sweet smell, the way that it melts in his mouth, and even the coloring. This fact is known widely in his family and something that his brother uses against him frequently. Now with this in mind, it’s not really his fault that he has started to stalk Kaidou. Probably. Maybe. Just the tiny bit. It’s Kaidou’s fault for smelling so nice and being just as sweet as his scent.
Most people automatically assumed that Kaidou would be an Alpha. They were wrong. Typically Omegas start to show symptoms when they are thirteen before they go into heat, Beta’s at seventeen, and Alpha’s start showing symptoms at twelve. His parents were more surprised over the fact that his brother turned out to be an Omega than they were when he turned out to be an Alpha. The only thing overall that changed when he Presented was his instincts. They became much sharper and his need to protect became much stronger.
Back to Kaidou, obviously he’s a late bloomer. It’s not as if there weren’t signs. While Alphas are territorial over their space and mates, Omegas are much possessive over those they deem their pack. Kaidou has taken to shooting sharp looks at Teruhashi any time that she comes near their little pack, much to the amusement of Saiki and Aren, while Teruhashi obviously doesn’t like it but doesn’t say anything against it (she has a perfect girl image to uphold after all). Saiki has also noticed the way that Kaidou sometimes leans closer to him, brings him little gifts, and sometimes slightly hides behind him anytime a larger Alpha comes near the group.
Nendo always teases Kaidou over that. Telling the slowly turning red boy that he must be pretty weak if he keeps hiding behind Saiki, which always leads Kaidou to start yelling at him. Not that he really minds, he enjoys the feeling of the slightly smaller boy against his back or side. The only person who seemed to know what was happening to Kaidou was, surprisingly, Aren. The purple-haired boy puts something on the table, seeing that Saiki saw it and doesn’t say anything, hands it to Kaidou.
Now that he lays on his bed and thinks about it, there have been a million little things that revealed that Kaidou was close to Presenting. Then again that also brought in more questions. Somehow it seems that their little pack has silently agreed that Saiki is The Alpha of the pack. Every pack, no matter how big or small contains an Alpha that the others agree to follow so that there are no power fights within a pack. That explains Aren’s whole behavior of making sure that Saiki doesn’t argue over what is given to Kaidou. What does concern him is the way that he keeps calling Kaidou Saiki’s Omega.
He narrows his eyes as he stares at his ceiling. Aren has always thought of Kaidou as an Omega and seemed to think that the rest of the group knew. Nendo’s behavior has also changed slightly when Kaidou’s scent started to change slightly. Anytime an unknown Alpha or someone that wants to bother Kaidou was near he would shift between the person and Kaidou while shooting him a look. Why did they both look at him first though?
Now that he thinks about it, he has also been more protective over Kaidou. Following him while he’s invisible, scaring the people that wanted to use him a bit too much, anytime that he started to crave something it would miraculously appear somewhere near him. He has even been glaring at the Alpha’s that had the audacity to come near him the soon to be Omega.
All of that combined makes what happened today slowly click into place. It started normally enough; his father begging him to take him to work, avoiding Teruhashi and the others. Though there was something a little off; Kaidou. The blue cotton haired boy walked a little closer to Saiki, exhaustion written on his face, jacket missing the wrappings around his arms still in place, shockingly, Saiki was not going to admit how cute he looks. The exhaustion spread across the day until lunch. Kaidou slumped against the table looking miserable. Peaking into his thoughts the only thing that was going through was tiredpaintiredithurtswhydoesithurtsleepy. Hurt? Sniffing the air slightly, his Alpha perks up at the overpowering smell of Coffee Jelly, something equally as delicious overpowering the smell of an Omega in the brink of Heat.
For a moment nobody moved, before somewhere in the lunchroom a Beta states rather bluntly, “Why does it smell like an Omega in heat?”
The three Alpha’s instantly snap into action. Saiki removes his jacket and wraps Kaidou tightly in it, before picking him up.

1534 Nendoroid Hyakunosuke Ogata is finally available!
So, since Goodsmile finally made him available for preorder, let me ramble a bit about him (and how to preorder him).
Yeah, I know I already did it for the prototype but a little more can’t hurt.
Warning, I’m gonna use the images that are on the Goodsmile site page for him... but also the ones on Kahotan’s Japanese blog because they capture him better.
So let’s start by seeing him in full colour.
The colouring is not bad, we were already familiar with this pose as it was used for the prototype as well so I won’t really comment much on it. I’m not sure why they’ve chosen the ‘standard expression’ instead than the grinning one for this photo as he actually was grinning in the image that inspired this but whatever, the grinning expression is included and that’s all that matters.
We can see an improvement in the definitive version, which is that his eyebrows are drawn in manga style (we can see many lines form them) and not in anime style (were they’re made with a single, large stroke).
This was something I know many fans has requested so I’m glad Goodsmile listened them... even though they declare that their official inspiration is his anime version.
They also added lines below his eyes so I’ll say they’ve tried their best in reproducing his expression.
Kahotan’s blog allows us to see him from behind as well.
I love how they had drawn some rebellious strands of hair and hadn’t made them all slicked up, and his little hood is very cute.
It’s a pity it can’t be pulled up though but this would require three more additional pieces and it’s kind of clear Goodsmile wasn’t that invested in his cape as we can see in the images only one version of it.
Why this is relevant?
Because the right side of it is pulled up to allow Ogata to move his arm while the other is kept lowered. In hindsight probably it was better to include a cloth cape instead than a plastic one as I think this could limit Ogata’s mobility.
I’m not sure if he’ll be able to shoot with his cape on and the difference between the two sides might be too marked if he’ll keep his right arm down.
Oh well, this is something we will be able to judge only when we’ll have him and I understand this was a BIG problem for Goodsmile as they clearly couldn’t give him a dozen of plastic capes and pieces in cloth or in other materials that aren’t plastic are included only in rare occurrences.
The plastic cape is still VERY CUTE.
Okay, going on.
As Nendo’s arms are simply too short it was impossible to reproduce Ogata’s iconic gesture of hair grooming so I think, according to Goodsmile, this is the compromise they could reach... whcih shows also the grinning face we could see in the prototype.
It’s nowhere near the hair grooming but, as I said, that one was IMPOSSIBLE TO GET so I really apprecciate their attempt to find something that could work as equivalent.
I think this image might give an even better idea of hair grooming (it reminds me of when he did it after Asirpa told him not to shoot the woodcocks), but maybe it’s just me.
This image shows us they also gave him a left hand which can hold the rifle, which is nice.
We continue with something that left me a little perplex, Ogata’s shooting position.
I don’t know if whoever placed him and Kahotan also made a mistake in positioning him... but it seems his right hand is not holding the rifle at all... when Ogata normally does.
It wasn’t something problematic as Nendoroid Tanya Degurechaff can do it just fine.
Even Nendoroid Springfield seems to hold the rifle with her right hand more than him.
Still, it’s possible they just wanted to show that hand. In the initial image there’s a right hand that can hold the rifle, so maybe that’s the trick.
He still looks really cool when shooting.
Goodsmile gave Ogata a butterfly to try to reach. I’ll say even if they said they were taking inspiration from the anime, they definitely have considered the manga as the butterfly scene isn’t in the anime, just in the manga.
LOL, here they would have needed the standard expression and not the grinning one but whatever, Ogata reaching for the butterly is ADOURABLE.
Yes, the butterfly is not very detailed, but keep in mind it will be really, really tiny. You won’t see all the details and it’s a complete new butterfly as the ones included in the “after parts part 2″ set were different
The last image Goodsmile shows us is a very special one as THEY INCLUDED PARTS TO MAKE THE CITATAP SCENE!
I’ve sent requests and pictures for this one so I’m delighted they had included it... which was not an easy feat as it means this Ogata will come with an additional sitting body (in addition to the little wooden stump and knifes) which is really not so common.
I wish I could see his expression better but I still love him.
Overall I think they paid more attention to him than to my poor Nendoroid Asirpa (I made a full review here).
Asirpa came with two more expressions, but despite all her pose being based on her being seated, she didn’t have any sitting part and she came with very few accessories (the hand with the chopsticks, the bown and the spoon with the otter head), she couldn’t hold her knives to make citatap and there was not a single possibility to have her use her bow and arrows, with not even her walking stick being included, although, credits when it’s due, due to the intricate Ainu patterns, she was probably hell to make for Goodsmile as there’s the chance that one had to be handpainted.
Also, her bent arm was a single piece, meaning you couldn’t rotate it, while both Ogata’s arms are two pieces. this makes for a lot more poses.
What worries even more though, is how she’s not being re-released with Nendoroid Ogata. Asirpa was released in 2018/09. Now, when Goodsmile release a new Nendo of a series for which they had already released Nendo, they often re-release them. It’s the case of how Tamaki Iroha gets a new release because they are releasing Nanami Yachiyo.
No re-release might mean my poor Asirpa didn’t really sell well, so Goodsmile either has still some of her old copies or doesn’t feel like investing in her again.
This means we got Nendoroid Ogata merely due to the HUGE amount of requests... and we might not get any other Golden Kamuy Nendoroid unless he sells really well.
Due to this I encourage you all to preorder him, to show Goodsmile an interest in GK Nendo. This not only because the Ogata Nendo is beyond cute but also because only in this way we can hope to get new GK Nendo as well.
How can you do it?
There’s of course, the Goodsmile on line shop. You register and place your oder. You will have to pay additional fees such as import taxes if you’re not residing in Japan.
However preordering in a shop near your home might be important in this period due to the Coronavirus affecting mail services so what can you do?
You can also order at Goodsmile online shop USA if you’re in Canada or in the United States as they don’t ship him out of them.
So what if you don’t live in Japan, USA or Canada?
Many of Goodsmile partner shops allow for pre-order.
You can search for one in your country or close by.
I use and can wholeheartedly recommend the Neko no Koe shop as they always offered me a great service. You can pay after your Nendo reaches their shop and they can send it to you when you’re ready to receive it (which for me is an imperative as there are periods in which I’m not at home and they just hold my Nendo for me without any additional cost and wait to send them until I’m back). They offer their services also to who’s not Italian so you can mail them to ask for info ([email protected]).
BE VERY WARY if you try to pre-order him from a shop that’s not one of the Goodsmile parters one. I never heard of someone managing to get an Asirpa bootleg and it’s possible they didn’t make them as she wasn’t popular but they’ll know Ogata was ugely requested so yes, chances to find him as a bootleg are higher.
Bootlegs often have a horrible quality (they rage from them being very ugly to their parts not staying together or being missing) but, what’s more, harm the original producer (Goodsmile) and the copyright holders (Geno studio and Noda himself).
I wholeheartedly recommend to stay away form them.

A Stupidly Long Critique of Saiki K: Reawakened
A Fuckton Of Spoilers Ahead
So I went and watched the new season/continuation of Saiki K today on Netflix and.
Boy, do I have some words.
Spoilers under the cut!
Alright. So as I’ve said, today, (Dec 30th) Netflix decided to rip The Disastrous Life Of Saiki K out of Funimation’s hands and make their own continuation- Saiki K Reawakened. A 6 episode continuation and ending to our beloved show, that’s been hyped up for weeks now.
..Except, it doesn’t really feel that way.
The first episode, (Three Men, A Little Girl, A Police Officer, And A Dog) first of all struck me with this- they no longer had opening/ending theme songs. I posted about it earlier but this made me really upset. The op/ed songs are one of my favorite parts of the anime. Youth Isn’t So Cruel is a beautiful song, The Most Favorable! is hyper active and just a fun listen, Silent Prisoner is bad ass, and Put Your Hands Up always put a smile on my face, and that’s just the opening. But Netflix decided to take away the songs and it’s upsetting. I would’ve been happy even if they just re-used an old opening, because I was expecting something and it was really disappointing.
The episode itself was a bit upsetting itself. I like watch things in order, but the chapter this episode is based off of is literally like the 10th chapter of the manga. I can’t find the exact one at the moment but I remember it was early on (hence, Nendo and Kaido arguing about which one of them is Saiki’s friend and such.) Even then- I went in expecting 6 episodes about his powers reawakening, not “Here’s 5 episodes of chapters we skipped and then we’re gonna mention the powers being reawakened.”
That’s probably one of my biggest problems with Reawakened. It’s just makeup work.
I think it would’ve been better if they put these episodes either in the places they belong or in the Season 3 category under the original show. They didn’t deserve all this hype for filler.
Another thing I missed was that usually, after the ending song in every episode, there’d be a small narration by Saiki of what would come next week. Those were also super funny and I missed that. I feel like Reawakened was a bad fanfiction Netflix wrote which just killed the original work. I thought Reawakened was gonna be a bad ass, slow escalation of Saiki’s powers cranking themselves back up to what they were before the ending of Season 2. And it kind of disappointed.
That isn’t to say Reawakened didn’t have it’s few funny moments. I think the “useless powers” bit actually made me pee a bit.
But it was only of a few. Most moments felt out of character, or out of place, and the bit with the whole “teacher with a 10-year-anniversary-Jump’ was excruciating to sit through. I did like Saiki’s little smile at the end though. It felt like Saiki’s few expressions that make my heart scream ‘uwu’ were the one thing keeping me watching the show.
In Episode 3, (New Teacher with an Outstanding Feature), I personally felt like Iguchi’s existence was a dead horse they kept beating with a stick every time they called him a pervert. He just genuinely made me uncomfortable and felt like a bad forced joke.
On the contrary, Hii felt like a great addition. I think they should’ve added her in the original two seasons in the first place, where she was supposed to be. I didn’t know till the other day that she came in way earlier. She’s a lovable unlucky klutz and she produced some genuinely funny moments. (Though, that whole ‘what happened last time’ bit kinda hurt my soul.) Episode 4 was one of my favorites just because of her. It felt like she brung back what Netflix stripped away from the original anime.
Before I get to the big money maker, episode 6- I have to point out the elephant in the room.
The fucking English dub.
I figured out that I could turn it on at some point during the episode with the useless abilities so I turned it on. I had heard the trailer with Saiki’s..new VA… but I figured he’d grow on me along with the rest of the cast.
Oh my god I was so wrong.
All I heard was Kuniharu’s and Saiki’s voice and genuinely, I nearly threw up. I’ve never had such an urge to slam my head into a brick wall until I heard the voices. I can’t even say much else because I didn’t and still do not have the willpower to sit through the English dub. It’s just.. so.. bad. I can’t stand it. I know that we can’t have the original English cast back because Funimation copyright yadda yadda I get it. But good lord. I can’t stand Saiki’s voice actor. The sarcasm sounds forced, the pauses are uncomfortable, and it just..hurts. The original one felt fluent, and just organic. The English dub made me, in short, want to blow my brains out.
That aside- episode 6. Saiki Kusuo gets his motha’ fuckin powers back.
I had my hopes low when I started this episode out of fear since some of the others literally just made me want to gag myself.
But episode 6… (muwah.) A masterpiece. No anime is perfect but oh my god.
I loved how Saiki kept forgetting he couldn’t use his powers. Call it weird but the way he’s kind of a tsundere in the sense of lying to himself that he doesn’t like any of this and would be much better off without them is one of my favorite things. And it’s even better when he runs out of lies and has to face it. And even then- as his powers slowly integrate back, I about died. It was so funny, with Tortisuka holding his shoulder when he went invisible and Saiki using that as a way out of it, or hearing others thoughts and thinking of it as an auditory hallucination. I didn’t like how the thoughts sounded distant and kind of echo-ey compared to when they were easy to hear before, but that might just be me.
Also? This scene right here? Where all of his friends protect him and he’s upset because he had to be protected? I started bawling. Maybe it’s because Aunt Flo’s in town and I have an unhealthy emotional attachment to Saiki, but it just hurt so bad watching him upset like that. And on a personal level, I felt where he was coming from. I don’t cry much at movies or TV or anime but good grief, I was crying in the club.
The whole meteorite heading to destroy Japan had me in a bit of shock. I saw the cryptic advertisements hyping Reawakened but I almost forgot about them and even then a meteorite didn’t seem dire until it seemed like Saiki had no say in anything.
As the climax builds and Saiki hears his friends panic-
-also featuring the best line uttered by Akechi ever- but even as Saiko says “I need to get my friends to the bunker aswell!” (which, holy shit, I didn’t care for Saiko but that got me to tear up?) I was losing my mind. After so much disappointment and just agony from this continuation- this had to be the best scene there. It’s hard to describe. It’s just so much emotion.
And then it happens.
The ever tsundere-lying-to-himself Kusuo accepts that he’s a psychic who doesn’t mind his disastrous friends sometimes. What a way to end the anime. Call it a cliche beginning-is-the-end but I’ve never been happier to hear those Japanese words. I’ve never loved an ending so much. It emotionally hurt and was hell, but I loved it. This has been my stupidly long criticism of Reawakened!
So, tl;dr, Reawakened had it’s hard weak points but I’ll be damned if I didn’t love the ending. We love my favorite boyo, Saiki Kusuo. Also I’d die for Hii. Goodnight.
edit: recently i noticed that Saiki's eyes compared to everyone elses doesnt have detail (no pupil/shine etc) except for that epic ending scene with Saiki and I jsut- HOLY FUCK here's a gifnthat kinda shows my point- his eyes transition from normal to detailed
#Saiki kusuo#saiki k reawakened#saiki kusuo no psi nan#saiki k#critisism#i dont know how this got so long

The disastrous like of a Aromantic psychic
Saiki has never felt romantic attraction ever. Sure, it might seem odd to normal people but, this was Saiki, and Saiki wasn't like normal people. Oh no he was a very power psychic. One who almost always knew when anything happened. Mainly resulting in him knowing he was an anime character. Thus why he knew it was a fan fiction he was currently in.
Yet, even in this fanfic he was 'forced', (as he would word it), to help people and avoid getting attention.
He sighed listening to Nendo go on and on about this girl he saw in the hall with his other classmate, Shun Kēido. Both of which had refused to leave him alone for years now and considered themselves his friends. He usually could put up with them, but not today.
Not after this morning.
Saiki had Nendo fall down the stairs onto of him which hurt and was hard to tell was coming since his mind was told small to be read. Then Shin had spilt his drink all over him this morning. From there things just spiralled. Everyone he hung out with had either done something that could physically hurt him, done something to annoy him or damaged his property.
Yet, he would have ignored it. He would have ignored it all if it wasn't for what was just about to happen.
He was tuning his friends out, just as Teruhashi's thought came into his mind speaking over the rest. He quickly picked up his books just in time to save them as she slammed her hands down on the table but, he had been to distracted by the two males blabbering on to save his desert.
His beloved rice pudding dropped to the floor spilling all over.
Teruhashi jumped back apologizing and cleaning the mess. Then she threw it out like it was nothing. Then she proceeded to try and get him to talk to her. It was like nothing happene.
....and that was the moment Saiki broke. Years of putting up with these people. Years of putting with their stupid thoughts. Years of saving them from themselves and convincing himself that their fates would affect him. Risking possible damage to himself for these people. Heck, even saving a few of them from death and this was how he was relayed.
By losing the one thing that mattered most to him.
He felt the colour leave his face as his mind snapped. He just looked up at Teruhashi who was jus smiling, trying to flirt with him. After all it had been three years of talking to his body without him replying.
"I'm just saying we could totally hang out sometime. I mean all three of us can go to Karoke athis Friday-"
"IM DONE!" Saiki snapped standing up. He didn't seem to notice everyone staring at him. He didn't notice the tears in his eyes. He worked so hard and for what? The one thing he loved the most was being ignored.
"Wha-"
And then he did it before she could say another word. He came out in front of the whole school.
"I can't take the flirting anymore! I've tried to give you every hing I could! I'm aromatic okay?! I don't wanna date anyone! I-I can't do it anymore!" He snapped at god knows who anymore before racing off down the hall. He didn't hear anyone rushing after him.
So he rushed to the bathroom and opening a window in there. Once he opened it, he teleported back him seeming to forget all about his school shoes.
Once he got home he sighed taking off his school clothes. Then slowly he headed upstairs to rest in his room. When he laid back in his bed, he found himself smiling.
He had done it! He had finally freed himself of the chaos!! He had finally freed himself of those dumb asses!
No more teruhashi trying to go out with him! No more moments of Shin pretending he was an anime character! No more moments of Nendo being the dumbest creature alive! No more of Chio trying to flirt with him! No more Moments of Kashi trying to get him to work out so often! No more moments of Reita's stupidness!
How did he know he would be freed from these people? Well to put it simply Japan just wasn't as accepting of a place as people thought. If anything being part of the LGBTQ+, was a social death sentence in any situation. If it wasn't then..well people would start avoiding them.
So it was the perfect way to fix his problems! No more dealing with peoples problems! No more fixing things! From now on it was all about him and his little bubble.
Yet, if that was try then why did he feel so...upset?
He didn't know why but, his chest ached a bit as he buried himself under his sheets. He had no idea why though. It's not like he would miss his so called 'friends'. Instead he was now free from them. Yet, he felt so....so odd.
~time skip~
Two days later and Saiki was in bed every moment of that weekend that he could. He came home on Thursday night after coming out and hid in his room. And that's what he did for the rets of the weekend so far.
He missed school on Friday which had never happened before. Yet, he just felt more numb than usual. He didn't know why though. He didn't even feel good enough to eat rice pudding which definitely wasn't good.
This continued for all the next morning. Heck he even spent time in bed the entire afternoon. Maybe it was because he used so much of his powers Thursday. Like enough to make him feel so crappy. Yet, he knew that wasn't true.
As much as he hated to admit it, he realized he missed his classmates. Their interactions at least gave him something new to expect. They have him something to do other than study. Now he had nothing to do.
Nothing but miss them and eat rice pudding.
The power of rice pudding had motivated him to visit his favourite cafe. The one that served the best rife cakes. It was what he did every Saturday night, usually with one of his classmates as of recently, but today he was all alone. And that would be the way it would stay.
Saiki guessed he shouldn't be so emotional anymore. After all this was what he choose. If he didn't want to be alone, well then he shouldn't have come out. He sighed thinking to himself that it didn't matter anyways. He was graduating in six months. He would have been all alone again in a collage on the other side of town anyways.
He just sighed standing outside the cafe door. His thoughts filled his mind somehow being louder than all the other voices he heard around him. In fact he seemed to just tune out all of reality. Thus resulting in the conclusion he refused to admit.
His classmates were his friends. They had spent years getting to know each other while doing their little cycle of madness. Thus also getting closer together. In fact dare he even imply, sometimes his friends made him happy. He even dared to say he liked hanging out with them at times.
Yet, he had thrown that away over his own selfishness. And now he had nothing and no one. No one except his beloved desert food.
Just as he came to this conclusion h had his hand on the door. His mind seemed to calm down with it's own thoughts at this point as he slowly opened the door. He should have waited thought. Why? Cause the second he opened the door he caught the single thought that should have clued him to turn away.
"I hope I picked the right hiding spot."
The second he heard that thought, he had opened the door. The lights were out playing feeling so nervous. He assumed someone was there to attack him as he walked in. So he began getting ready to defend himself. If only he could focus his mind on relaxing. Maybe then he could hear more thoughts, but now his mind was thinking of his own worries.
However he took a step in the building the lights came back on. As they did his classmates jumped up screaming surprised as confetti and balloons were thrown over the room. He jumped a foot in the air as everyone smiled to him.
Every corner of the cafe was decorated with the A romantic flag colours. Heck there was even a flag over a table. Yet, what he focused more on was his mains group of friends. He moan friends were inches away from him smiling, as if they were seeing him for the first time in years.
"Wh-" he was cut off by Nēndo rushed over hugging him. His eye got bigger as his other friends held him close as well. He blushed before feeling the entire class hugging him which seemed to calm him down to hear all their thoughts. As he did he almost cried.
They were all about him. They were all thinking about him.
"How on earth am I gonna tell Saiki I'm sorry I've been forcing my feelings on him? I mean any way I word it makes it sound like it's all about me but, he's been there for me through so much. How am I gonna avoid hurting him." It was the only time he heard Teruhashi think about anyone other than herself.
"Saiki I'm so sorry I haven't reached out to you for so long. I hope you still wanna be friends even though I haven't been helping you as much as I can be." Reita thought smiling. Being the only one who knew he could do read minds, well, his words seemed more comforting than others.
"I can't believe I push everyone to drive for a happy life when I made Saiki feel bad enough that he ran away. I promise from now on Saiki I'm gonna give you as much as I can." Kineshi Hairo, always thought about how to motivate others. It was normal. Yet, it some how made the world to Saiki.
"You supported me through so much man! How am I gonna support you?!" Shun Kaidō always was full of thoughts about how he must be like a hero. Why on earth would he be thinking about anything else?
"Oh my. What can I do for you?! I mean you already payed for me to go on a school trip and help support my part time job here every week by visiting here. I mean I already got you some pudding for free today but, I suppose I could also offer you some time to just hang out when I get a free moment." Chisato Mera, has so many jobs but, this was her favourite. It was true Saiki came here for rice cakes every week, but something about her thought made him what to come every day.
"Oh gosh I'm gonna cry. I missed Saiki so much. I thought he just gave up. What would I do without a friend like him....No! No Chiyo! This isn't about you. Don't you dare start crying. Instead just focus on how Saiki and how to make him happy." Chiyo Yumehara, usually thought about how to woo men. Somehow this made him more happy than anything anyone else could say to him.
And that would have been it. He was being overwhelmed by his friends thoughts followed by other classmates thoughts about how much he had helped him and how they wanted to repay him. It was enough to touch his heart as he was lead to a table to sit down.
As he was, Nēndo explained it was a coming out party. One where they celebrated how brave Saiki has been for coming out. It was so odd to say the least, but it made him smile. It just made Saiki be overwhelmed by his emotions. So much so that he didn't lie when he was asked about why he didn't go to school.
"Well I figured you guys wouldn't wanna be stuck hanging around a someone like me." He admitted before finally eating his pudding. Just as he did he looked up to see guilty faces and hear guilty thoughts. Ones he was bound to hear again and had heard before.
That is Exocet for the one he heard at the end.
The only thought he ever heard from Nēndo.
"I made him feel like that?...why on earth would I abandon a best buddy like him? I mean what on earth would I do if he never existed."
Something about the guilty look and thought of gratitude finally broke him. Saiki was in tears. Like actual tears as he looked back down, eating a bit of his food. As soon as he did he felt his best friend Nēndo hug him again.
"It's okay. I'm always gonna be here for you." Nēndo smiled.
Without a second thought Saiki hugged him back.
The two just smiled clinging onto each other for support before everyone else slowly joined in. Each hugging and giving their support aloud for him. Each word just made him feel even more better.
Maybe standing out wasn't so bad.
If it meant he had friends like this and could be who he was, then he didn't mind standing out for once.
(The end)

Raya’s toy photography tips 2
Part 1 here
Alright kiddos, today I’m going to talk/show some examples of how you can play around with composition!
Many of the examples today will have been taken with my phone because as I thought it might be useful to mix things up a bit. Especially for those who don’t have access to a DSLR.
When you want to take a photo of something, it might feel natural to simply aim the camera at it from wherever you’re standing and snap a photo, making sure the subject is in the middle.
Something like this, maybe:
Aw, a sad borg.
Okay, this angle and perspective can work just fine, depending on what mood/look you want to capture, but a lot of the time, it’ll look more interesting if you get down low, to your subject’s eye level (or lower). Yes, this means you might have to crawl on the ground to get proper shots of your nendos. Or like me, photograph them on a table whenever possible...
So, let’s see how the picture changes when we move to closer to Genos’ eye level...
Do you see how he instantly becomes more of the focus of the photo? He’s more in your face and some of the busy background has disappeared simply by changing the angle. I would say this is a better photo than the one above. However, let’s see what happens if we take it a step even further...
I have now gone as far below Genos as my phone/the table would allow me. Compare this photo with the first one at the top. Even though they are taken from about the same distance, you can see a big difference between the two. In this bottom photo Genos is more the focus of the photo and the angle is more interesting to look at. Experiment with trying all sorts of angles to make your photos more interesting!
Here are a few more examples, using facial close ups. I’m not saying one of these are always better than another, all have their uses, but consider how changing the angle can change the picture considerably and try to take this into account when you get photos! What kind of emotion do you want the photo to show?
Next - it’s tempting to always place your subject in the middle of the photo, but the photo will often more pleasing to look at if your subject is slightly off-center. Again, it depends on what you’re trying to show, but don’t be afraid to experiment! Let’s look at some more examples...
First off, let’s go back to Sad Borg. Which of these two photos do you think tells more of a story?
Both have their merits and can be used depending on what you’re trying to express, but in terms of composition, I would sooner choose the right one. I've gone closer to Genos and used the empty space to the left to give a sense of isolation/disconnect from his surroundings.
Having said that, under normal circumstances you typically want to aim to have that open space in the direction your character is looking at. Let’s look a bit closer at this:
Saitama looking at something in the distance with him placed in the middle, with the open space behind him and with the space in front of him.
In most cases, the composition to the far right is going to give you the best result - leave more open space in the direction your character is looking at.
To summarize: When getting photos, try to think about what angle you want to use. Under most circumstances, I recommend to get down to at least the toy’s eye level. Experiment with where in the photo to place your toy. Usually, off-center is best. If your toy is looking at something, leave more open space on that side.
Last I will give a few examples of “proper” photos where I played around with the composition, to give you a few ideas/inspiration, if I’m lucky <3
#yes I do literally lie down on the ground for my nendo photography#which is why I generally prefer to do it outdoors during the warmer part of the year lol#but I will typically always come home with wet/dirty knees :P#nendoroid#obitsuroid#photography#tutorial

Review time! 1/8 Mikazuki Munechika
holy swordboys, batman!
file this one under “figures i didn’t expect to ever own but then saw on extreme markdown and snagged”
picture-heavy review under the cut as usual!
So, I didn’t expect to own this figure. For a variety of reasons. I didn’t really like how the prototype pictures came out; stellar paint job notwithstanding. The pose is kind of bland. The Awakened version was announced around the same time this version came out, and I like the pose/potential shirtlessness on that better. I saw this one in person once in a display case at Kinokuniya, and that made me think “hm, maybe regular jiji wouldn’t be so bad,” but the $170 price tag didn’t convince me. I had honest to god been intending to wait for the Awakened version to come out.
Then i went on fucking mandarake and saw they had this one for 6k yen. Considering his retail price is to the tune of 15k yen, i decided to jump on it. I knew in my collector heart that I would probably never see that price on this figure again. At that deep of a markdown he ran the high chance of being defected or damaged, but all manda had to say about quality was “box damage” so i added him to my cart and crossed my fingers.
fast forward a week and he shows up. not only is the box PRISTINE except for where the previous owner cut the tape, jiji is completely, utterly perfect. This man had seen the outside of his box maybe once.
AND SO, now i will shut up and get to the review pictures, which is what you’re all here for
Honestly, he’s perfect. He’s so perfect that I could just post these pictures by themselves and let them do the talking. But that would be boring.
Here he is from the side. The pattern on his outfit really stands out here; i’m just consistently amazed that that’s actually sculpted on instead of a decal. His sword is also much longer than i expected; I guess its length isn’t entirely clear in the official illustration
From this angle you can sort of make out his body line under all his clothing. The sculpting of the fabric folds is just fantastic.
Here he is from the back. He looks like he’s leaning, but it’s just the odd way that the weight is distributed. He’s putting most of the weight on one leg, but surprisingly enough he can stand solidly without his base. From this angle, the sort of wistful tilt of his head is just lovely. He almost seems like he’s reminiscing about days long gone by...
Here he is from the other side. More fantastic work on the folds.
I feel like i’ve swindled mandarake out of a perfectly good swordboy. He’s breathtaking from just about every angle.
Up close.... aaaAAAA he’s so pretty, I’m dying scoob.
In hindsight, I wish I’d taken a closeup of his face straight on, because there’s actually a gap between some of his bangs that’s hard to see at this angle. The sculpting on his hair is so exact, i’m surprised they were able to mass produce it...
Closer in you can see that no detail was spared. Even the small crescents in his eyes have been faithfully included--though they’re nearly impossible to see in the official artwork.
Back when the prototype pictures were released there was a bit of uproar about his face, particularly his mouth. The prototype’s lips were parted slightly, to better match Mikazuki’s serene smile in the official art--but it wasn’t all that flattering. In fact the lips were one of the reasons I was kind of turned off the prototype haha.... Somewhere between the prototype and release, the face was fine-tuned and his mouth changed into a close-lipped smile. I’m glad they made the change; it looks much more natural.
The tassels on his head also look nice.
Closeup of his breastplate and crest. Kogitsunemaru’s armor stitches were decals, but Mikazuki’s are individually sculpted.
Closeup of his obi zone. The amount of detail in this figure is incredible, and here especially. You can even see the strap where his sword is attached.
All of the tassels on this figure (except the ones on his head) are made of a flexible plastic--which honestly is a godsend, bc if they weren’t i probably would have broken them all off by now. Kudos to Orange Rouge for their foresight.
while the patterned blue definitely draws the eye, there’s something to be said for Mikazuki’s hakama as well. The gold embellishments can be hard to see, but at certain angles they catch the light well.
Tan sandals, and a simple base. interesting to note, Kogits’ socks had a center seam, while Mikazuki’s have an edge seam. You can also see a bit of his underclothes in the reflection here, which I had no idea he had. Another detail that would probably escape notice!
close in on his hand and the handle of his sword. Looking up his sleeve, you can actually see another sleeve nestled in there. He’s not just a faithful reproduction of the illustration, he’s a reproduction of what the design would actually entail.
Just as it did on the nendoroid, the gradient in his hair looks very nice.
More details on his back; normally this isn’t something you would ever see.
Closeup of the obi zone. The pattern on his sword belt is easier to see from behind.
Hidden within his sleeve is... another sleeve! The pattern on his sword is also very cool. I hadn’t noticed this until now, but each phase of the moon is represented on the scabbard.
more sleeve-within-sleeve i had no idea was there. He must be very warm.
And while we’re looking up things...
He has very feminine legs...
I couldn’t get close enough to really see but, thanks to MFC and twitter i know that Mikazuki is actually going commando. (link nsfw; anime boy butts ahead). Someone stop this old man
When I first took him out of the box I searched high and low for any kind of defect that would’ve caused a 60% markdown, but i honest to god couldn’t find any glaring mistakes. The only thing I found that might POSSIBLY have caused it was this near-invisible ding:
Joke’s on you, manda???
Here he is next to the now somewhat legendary nendoroid jiji. Truth be told, the nendoroid was what piqued my interest in Touken Ranbu in the first place--I’d literally never heard of it before goodsmile started making figures. (You can read my nendoroid review here and see the start of my descent into swordboy hell)
After all is said and done, I’m extremely glad I went out on a limb and snagged the nendoroid. Tourabu is my aesthetic in so many ways, and now i have a whole plethora of swordboys to love and throw my wallet away to. It’s nice to have a scale of my first swordboy crush, too. I think I’ll always be partial to the nendoroid--it was my first exposure to the series, after all--but the scale figure captures so much of Mikazuki’s elegance that the nendo is just too small for.
Together with my other swordboy love, Kogitsunemaru. (Of course my favs are the hardest swords to get) (I say, after getting them for free on tkrb pocket)
I bought kogits for my birthday last september (bc at that point i honestly liked his scale better/didn’t think i’d ever find a jiji in my budget) but ever since I’ve thought he looked kind of lonely. I’d wanted to get awakening jiji for him, but honestly I’m glad I got the default one. The two of them look natural together. Thanks to them both being 1/8 scale, their height difference is also accurate. It’s very slight, but it’s there!!
Is this what it feels like to own both Barbie and Ken?? my shipper heart is very satisfied with this purchase. I tried to make them kiss, but their swords got in the way. There’s an innuendo in here somewhere
The whole sword family! These boys are all lovely on their own, but.... ahhh, they look best when they’re together!!!
masato introduces us to the new boy
I was expecting them to be the same height, but masa is actually taller!
Of course, Ren is still the reigning champion (though it’s not fair since he’s 1/7)
Seeing how much taller Masato was made me think Souji might at least have a chance of being the same height as jiji. Nope. Sorry Sooj
Here’s where he’s living for now. I’d like them to be on the other side of each other, but Kogits is so tall that he blocks out ren and masato if he and jiji switch places. The black bases also look very nice on my desk.
god my desk is getting so full, and there’s only more to come... rip
All in all, while he was definitely an impulse splurge (i am not buying any more figures until my preorders start coming out, do not let me) and despite all my apprehension, Mikazuki has definitely earned his place in my collection. He’s absolutely stunning, and photos don’t always do him the justice he deserves. I’m excited to start working with him for real, and try bringing out even a fraction of the charm that he has in person.
While I still would have preferred a more lively pose, I now think this kind of thing is a fine start. Hell, it’s still better than nothing; I came into figure collecting when the prettyboy figure scene was preeeetty spotty. In the future--budget willing--I hope to show my support for touken ranbu figures with dynamic poses, so figure companies know that it’s a risk worth taking. (I guess that’s my one regret buying secondhand; OR isn’t going to see that money. whoops.) I’ve still got my eyes on awoken jiji, though if THIS jiji ran 15k a pop, lord knows what kind of hit my wallet would take on a fancier one....
Anyway, that just about wraps it up. Impulse control willing, my next review will be around April/May.

i actually started writing it
i said i’d write it and i’m here to dissapoint
title doubles as a link to it on wattpad if you’d like to read it over there so
chap 1. - this was never the way i planned
Saiki noticed it the other day when he was observing Satou's perfectly average normalness as always. He was standing with a girl Saiki usually didn't see him talk to. It's a girl with (h/l), (h/c) hair and (e/c) eyes. She's a stereotypical looking girl..which is.. no surprise considering Satou is the crowd he hangs out with. But even then, she seems to be considered pretty by most of the class, judging by the thoughts that flooded in Saiki's head.
Toritsuka walks around from the other door of the classroom and behind Saiki. "Spying on Mr. Normal again?" He asks, seemingly annoyed with Saiki's actions as if he isn't a parasite himself.
"Be quiet. You'll never understand why he's so perfect." Saiki hushes him telepathically, continuing to observe. The girl is sitting on her desk- right next to Satou's- swinging her legs cheerfully and chatting with him as he sits at his desk. "Who's the girl he's talking to?" Saiki asks curiously.
"Huh?" Tortisuka hums, looking around Saiki trying to see who it was in question. "Oh, that's (L/n)! The prettiest girl in Class 2. I don't know how you haven't heard of her before. She's pretty popular in the class because she does commissions for art and stuff. That, and she was apparently born in America." Saiki could tell by the name.
Saiki nods, observing quietly still. "Which gives me an idea! Follow me." Tortisuka perks up. Saiki sighs to himself, muttering a "good grief." Whatever dumb plan Tortisuka had in his head, Saiki didn't want to be apart of.
"No." Saiki refuses blankly as Tortisuka starts tugging on my his weakly.
"Come on! It'll get you in Satou's crowd." He argues, continuing to tug.
Saiki's quiet for a second. "..Fine. Just let go of my arm." Saiki sighs. "And don't try anything on the girl."
"What's it to you?" Tortisuka lets go of Saiki but nudges him as hard as he can. Which, really, felt like a weak poke.
"Don't disturb the peace of normal." Saiki glares at him as he's only left to follow him as he approaches Satou and (L/n).
"...I know! And the dude kept going on and on about being a big 'influencer' that could get me exposure and I'm just like, dude, pay me or I'm not drawing your icon!" (L/n) rants on to Satou as Tortisuka and Saiki slowly come closer in earshot.
"Thats..wow. Yikes." Satou comments.
"I deal with it all too much. I just don't get why people refuse to pay artists. I mean, it's how money has worked for hundreds of years, and 'exposure' isn't necessarily a currency, g-" (L/n) rants on and on before she's interrupted. By Tortisuka.
"(L/n)! Funny seeing you here." Tortisuka tries to squint his eyes for more 'appeal' as he leans on Satou's desk. From closer up, as much as Saiki hated to agree with Tortisuka, (L/n) was undoubtedly pretty. Flecks of gold surround her pupils and an everlasting blush crosses over the bridge of her nose from cheek to cheek. As Saiki stares, he begins to notice- his x-ray vision doesn't work on her. Which was strange and confusing, because it worked on everyone else. In fact, he could see the bones of Tortisuka out of the corner of his eye.
Saiki's mind begins to wonder- was she a physic? Did she have some sort of other power? Was she a fanfiction protagonist? Only one of these were correct, but Saiki didn't know that.
"Ah.. Toritsuka." (L/n) seems to be aware of how much of a parasite he is. "Eyes are up here. What's up?" ..And even then, she's still kind to him. Saiki elbows Toritsuka in the side to pull his eyes out of her chest.
He grunts in pain and stands up straight. "Well, my good friend Saiki here-" He nudges Saiki. He nods his head in acknowledgement. The quicker he stops making a fool of himself, the better. "-heard about your commissions and wanted to get a commission."
(L/n) straightens her back and pulls her phone out of the pocket of her skirt. "Give me a second, Satou." She smiles at him before turning back to Saiki and Tortisuka. She starts tapping the screen. "Alright. What do you want a commission of?" She hands her phone to Saiki, expecting him to take it. "There's some examples of my art."
Saiki slowly swipes through the gallery on (L/n)'s phone. There was a good mix of different drawings here, he assumed fitting to her own style. He didn't know much about art but he thought it was good.
"He wanted a drawing of..uh..himself!" Toritsuka makes up as he hands the phone back to (L/n). That sounds egotistical in Saiki's opinion, but oh well.
"Oh, that's fine!" (L/n) laughs. "Do you know how many people have tried to ask me to draw Kokomi in all these weird ways this week alone? I just can't catch a break." She sighs through her laughter as she taps a few apps. "Let me get a picture of you real fast."
She holds up her phone to take a picture, and Tortisuka throws his arm around Saiki's shoulder. It takes all his willpower to not punch him in the gut, frankly. "Out of the picture, Toritsuka." (L/n) sighs, as soon as he slips away she takes the picture, and then puts the phone back in her pocket.
She hums again for a second. "So, how much?" Tortisuka asks her.
"Can't you let him talk for himself?" She grins cheekily. "I'm thinking." She hums again for another second, nodding slowly and looking Saiki up and down briefly. 'He seems nice and the first guy this week that didn't ask for a naked picture of Kokomi. Plus, it should be an easy drawing.'
"Here's the deal- since I need the practice drawing guys, and it would've been pretty cheap anyway, I'll give it to you free. That cool?" She smiles. Saiki nods, ready to get this over with.
"Hey, what the hell, you charged me like 2000 yen for a drawing!" Toritsuka argues.
"Registered sex offenders do not get cheap artwork." (L/n) laughs. She's only teasing him but Saiki cant help but grin a bit. "Plus, you've asked me to draw poses of women I didn't even know were possible."
Toritsuka grumbles about something that Saiki did not want to hear. (L/n) turns back to me. "But anyway. I'll get it to you either tomorrow or the day after." She smiles kindly. "Class is starting soon, though. You should head back to your classroom. I'll see ya around." She waves Saiki and Tortisuka off politely and turns back to Satou.
..Well.
𝕥𝕚𝕞𝕖𝕤𝕜𝕚𝕡
Late at night after school. Saiki lies in his bed staring at the ceiling blankly. As night falls the number of voices buzzing in his head usually falls quieter but even then he can't bring himself to sleep and after a while, memorizing the pattern of the popcorn ceiling gets boring. Saiki crosses his eyes, figuring he'll just randomly pick someone he knows if they're awake. See what they're doing.
Random selection leaves Saiki to be observing (L/n). She's laying across a couch, some sort of tablet in her lap as she uses a stylus to draw. In the corner of the screen was a video call with a male friend of hers.
"Oh my god, shut up!" She laughs in English, pen stylus gliding across the screen as she draws Saiki. He figures that's no surprise, considering the events from earlier that day.
Her friend- a guy- sticks his tongue out at her. "What are you drawing?" He asks.
"This guy at my school." (L/n) shrugs. "Remember that Toritsuka guy? He introduced his friend who apparently wanted a commission of himself. But he's pretty chill and I need practice drawing guys so I said I'd do it for free."
"You need to stop giving away free art." Her friend shakes his head. The drawing Saiki can see over (L/n)'s shoulder is actually pretty good. He wouldn't admit it, but he liked it a lot.
"You try getting commissioned the same drawing of the same girl everyday and then not be ecstatic when someone doesn't ask for it, (F/n)." (L/n) rolls her eyes to (F/n).
"Well, that aside, how's your school been?" (F/n) asks. In the corner of the tablet screen her (L/n) had positioned his video, Saiki can see (F/n) wandering around and doing random things.
"Ah, you reminded me." (F/n) perks up. "They're switching me to class 3."
"What, why?"
Saiki felt the same way. Why was she switching to class 3? Why was the author pulling crappy plot convenient twists so early in the story?
"Yeah. The principal talked to me about- something about my test scores being better fit there, I don't really know. I only know, like, three people in that class." (L/n) shrugs, continuing to draw. She was kidding, right? There's no way. It cannot get this convenient for her.
Out of the corner of Saiki's eye, he sees the time in the corner of (L/n)'s tablet. 12:39AM... He sighs to himself. He's stayed up awfully late for having school in the morning. He uncrosses his eyes and rubs them. Doing that for so long hurt..
He figures he should get to sleep. He glances towards the toy, green-lensed glasses on his desk. He couldn't see through (L/n) with xray vision but could hear her thoughts clear as day and clairvoyance worked just fine. He couldn't help but wonder- how would his other powers work on her..?
𝕥𝕚𝕞𝕖𝕤𝕜𝕚𝕡
Saiki doesn't need to read minds to know that (L/n) was switching to class 3 today. Unfortunately for him, could hear everyone's thoughts as always.
Saiki was conflicted as to how to feel about (L/n). On one hand, she was a perectly average girl with her own few talents and special things about her. A perfect kind if person, by Saiki's definition. But there's a problem or two....
'(Y/n)'s coming to my class now, this is great! I knew God loved me! Maybe, with our beauty combined, I can finally make Saiki say 'oh!''
..Teruhashi and her seem to be good friends. Which is unfortunate because Teruhashi attracts attention. And ontop of that, his classmates consider (L/n) overly beautiful. He wouldn't admit it to himself or anyone else but a part of him agreed. He'd say it a million times but he didn't want to stand out.
"Hey, buddy!" Nendo waves a hand in front of Saiki's face. "Did you hear about the new girl?" He asks.
"There's a new girl?" Kaido asks. "Do you know anything about her?"
"Her name's like, (L/n), or something." Nendo shrugs. "I heard she was cool."
"Oh, (Y/n)! I know her!" Kaido brightens. "She didn't tell me she was transferring to our class."
"How come you know her?" Nendo asks.
Kaido's face turns red. 'I'm not telling them that I call her the escaped princess fro Dark Reunion for her own sake.' Kaido thinks to himself, unknowning he just spilled that secret to Saiki. Saiki was curious as why he called her that though. (L/n) wasn't the 8th-grade-syndrome type. "I met her freshman year when she moved here. We used to eat lunch together." Kaido shrugs, trying to play it off.
Before Nendo can call his bluff or any other nuisance Saiki knows can wander over, the teacher steps in the classroom and quiets us. "Class, today a girl from class 2 is switching to our class." The teacher begins. The class' minds begin to bubble up with excitement as they await (L/n) to step into the class.
"Please welcome her to our class." The teacher sighs, before turning towards the door and beckoning (L/n). (L/n) steps in the classroom and smiles. She seemed to be more glowy and happy than most days.
And as Saiki expected, almost the entire class gasps at her beauty. "I'm (L/n) (Y/n)." She smiles. "I moved here from America two years ago. I hope you guys will welcome me." 'Yikes, that sounds cheesy. Shouldn't have said that. Why are there so many guys with their mouths open? Oh shit, wait, that's Saiki. I didn't know he was in class 3.' (L/n)'s thoughts ramble on.
"You may take a seat next to Saiki." The teacher gestures to Saiki and the conviently open seat to his right. (L/n) smiles and nods, walking over and taking a seat next to Saiki.
On one hand, (L/n) seemed perfectly average in every other regard and seems to be less annoying than everyone else who chooses to 'bother' Saiki everyday. But because the girl excels in beauty and creativity, she draws a bit more attention then Saiki would like. He'd have to figure out how to play his cards right. He's said it a million times but, again, he didn't like attention. But seemingly normal attracts normal and that's what he needs to be a bit more normal. It's just like the female version of Satou. Atleast, that's what Saiki would keep telling himself.
Truth is- Saiki was oddly drawn to the girl. To you. He couldn't exactly figure out why so the best reason he came up with. Normal attracts normal. And Saiki is just a normal highschooler who happens to be an esper.
"Hey, Saiki!" (L/n) smiles and turns to the boy in thought. The teacher left the class to study and chat. Saiki figured she just wasn't having it today. "I didn't know you were in this class."
"Surprise." He responds flatly. (L/n) laughs. 'Hey, he's smiling. He looks nice when he's smiling.' Saiki chose to ignore that. He wasn't smiling. Don't know what she's taking about. She needs her eyes checked because Saiki wasn't smiling because of her adorable and heartwarming laugh.
"Hey, so, we should hang out sometime." She brings up casually. Saiki looks up curiously. "You seem pretty cool. Plus I know Tortisuka just had me draw you as an excuse to talk to me, but it's all good." (L/n) shrugs, leaning back in her chair. "Can't change that boy..."
Saiki sighs. "...Fine. Sure." He's got no choice but to reluctantly agree. Is what he keeps telling himself because (L/n) is a nice girl whos really hars to say no to for some reason.
Saiki's friends circle his desk as every other day but now it extends to (L/n)'s desk as well. He'd feel bad for them bothering her, but it seems that she already knew some of them and didn't mind them.
"(L/n)! You didn't tell me you were transferring to our class!" Hairo smiles, approaching her desk.
"Haha, sorry!" (L/n) scratches the back of her head. "I fell asleep kind of early and I didn't get a chance to tell many people.." 'Early? It was 12 in the morning.' Saiki thinks to himself. Despite all that, he was a bit curious as to how she knew all of them.
"You didn't tell me either." Teruhashi comments.
"Yeah, I know, I know, I'm sorry! I was told after school and I got busy the whole rest of the day." (L/n) apologizes.
"It's alright, (Y/n)!" Kaido smiles, his face bright red. "At least you're here now!"
'Hey. Kusuo. Kuusuuuoooo! Answer me, damnit.' Aiura bugs Saiki with her thoughts. Saiki about rolls his eyes into the back of his head. Aiura made this a daily habit ever since she knew Saiki had powers a long time ago. 'Turn off your aura. I wanna see the new girl's aura.' Saiki sighs, but atleast she's said something with an ounce of thought to it for once. Saiki turns down his overly godlike aura and the auras flood back into Aiura's vision as she focouses on (L/n)
'Oh, shit.' Aiura thinks to herself, looking (L/n) up and down. Saiki's intrest peaks as he excuses himself from his friends, walking to Aiura's seat near the back of the class. He slips off one of his gloves so he could use phsycometery to see what Aiura saw.
"What's it look like?" He asks, going to set his hand on her shoulder.
She jumps away from Saiki suddenly, nearly falling out of her chair. "KYAA! It's, it's nothing! Just a normal aura! It's all chill! All good in the hood!" She screams defensively. 'That's not very normal.. very artsy and colorful aura...even then it kind of reminds me of Teryukoko's aura, but...' Her thoughts aside, the more she screams the less she sounds like a gyaru and more like someone who saw one rap song and tried speaking like the rapper.
"You know I can hear your thoughts, right?" Saiki asks her.
She jumps back again. "AAAH!! Stop that!"
"Yare yare...That's not how my powers work." Saiki sighs. He wasn't sure why she was so freaked out about (L/n)'s aura but he figured she'd tell him soon enough. Even then, Kuboyasu and Kaido's aura shocked her, so it can't be anything that bad, right?
Saiki turns and walks back to his desk, his friends welcoming him back as he sits down. He turns to look at (L/n) as she meets Nendo, Yumehara, and Kuboyasu. He did have to wonder.. what could it have been that freaked out Aiura so bad? The only thing that freaks her out is when its super bad or it's connected to Saiki.
He supposed it couldn't be too bad. She's still just a perfect, average girl anyways.
"Hey, lets go to the arcade after school!" Kaido invites (L/n) excitedly, face bright red.
"Sure, why not!" (L/n) agrees, smiling brightly. "I haven't been to one in a while."
"I'll come too!" Nendo invites himself.
"I've got time to kill, so..." Kuboyasu trails off as he joins the party... Saiki sighs to himself. He supposed he was "obligated" to come aswell.
'That was kind of surprising to see for a girl like her...Well, I suppose everyone gets it eventually...' Aiura's thoughts bumble on in Saiki's mind as his friends continue to converse. 'But still, even then..' She sighs, letting her head rest in her palm.
'Having a red string...'

that dumb saiki k fanfic i wrote but chapter 2
chapter 1 | story on wattpad
chp. 2 - not my intention
There was one part of auras that had always confused Aiura.
See, she was born with the ability to see auras and into the future and all that. Ever since she could walk and talk she could remember trying to figure out people based off their auras, learning what they meant.. Not only did auras reflect someone's personality, but they could also reflect memories they held dear, emotions they felt strongly, and even then her fortune telling let her tell so much more about them.
But there was one thing she didn't entirely understand, even now as a second year in high school. When she was 6 or 7, she started seeing a new part of auras. A red string.
A red string, in most contexts, connects two soulmates together by an invincible string tied around their fingers. When she was around 7 she noticed that her parents had one tied to each other. Some times she'd watch people pass each other on the street and notice them form. Red strings were a part of your aura and they had only formed when you had actually met your soulmate. Aiura had this come easy to her but what always confused her was why it took so long for her to see them. Or maybe, why did it take so long for them to form?
°·.¸.·°¯°·.¸.·°¯°·.¸.°·.¸.·°¯°·.¸.·°¯°·.¸.
Saiki sighed as he walked along behind his friends..and (L/n), who you could consider his friend, but it's up in the air if he'd say the same. As Kaido and Nendo bickered and Kuboyasu sided with Kaido, (L/n) fell back to walk next to Saiki. Her thoughts rang clear as she walked and scrolled through something on her phone.
'This feels kind of awkward..' (L/n) frets as she bites her bottom lip, momentarily glancing to Saiki. 'I wanna talk to him but he's giving off the "please let me go never interact with humanity ever again" vibe.' Oddly specific. Saiki almost wished other people could notice that as well. He supposed if he wanted to make a friend of this girl- get his likability up a bit- he'd have to take charge.
"Do you like the arcade?" Saiki asks her, turning his head to her.
"Yeah. I haven't been there in a while though.." (L/n) smiles and scratches the back of her head "Never have the time or money, haha.. how about you?"
"I used to go alot as a kid. But the games are all really easy now." Saiki shrugs, turning back towards the other boys yelling ahead of them as the arcade approached.
"Is that a challenge?" (L/n) grins. 'This could work perfectly..!'
Saiki smirks, looking at (L/n) at the corner of his eye. "Maybe." This could work perfectly...
"Hah, you're on!" (L/n) laughs as she begins to run ahead, dragging Saiki along by the wrist. Saiki shrugs to himself, letting her drag him along. (L/n) basically bursts into the arcade confidently. "Alright! You seem confident so I'll let you choose a game."
"Ooh, you two are competing?!" Nendo asks, popping up behind the two "Let us choose the games! That way it'll be fair." He's dumb but he's right. Saiki cringes a bit- they're going to call attention if he wins too much. He'll have to moderate his powers.
"Here, let me choose first!" Kaido interjects. "(Y/n), follow me." His face turns red. 'Maybe she's good at shooting games! If I choose a game that she wins at, m-maybe..' Saiki didn't want to hear anything beyond that. It was pretty easy to see where that was going.
"O-Oh, okay! C'mon, Saiki!" (L/n) beckons as Kaido lead her toward some sort of zombie-shooter game. Generally, they were pretty easy as long as Saiki didn't get startled. Lord knows what happened when he used VR.
(L/n) grins and picks up the blue colored fake gun. "Come on! Longest one alive wins!" She smiles, bending down and inserting 200 yen. Saiki does the same and sets his bag down, picking up the toy gun.. it should be easy to moderate his powers and give her a fair fight here...
...is what he told himself. Saiki didn't necessarily play games like these very often, if ever, because he'll either jump and blow something up or he'll lose and nearly break a controller. Nendo stood behind Saiki basically screaming support in his ear as Kaido stood next to (L/n) with starry eyes.
And Saiki lost. Horribly. By horribly I mean he lasted about a full minute before dying when (L/n) kept going for another 3 just to tease Saiki. Which was fine. N̶o̶ ̶i̶t̶'̶s̶ ̶n̶o̶t̶. It was normal to loose at games. He'd just win at the next one so it'd seem normal.
He did not. Kuboyasu chose one of those racing games where the seat is the actual sort of motorcycle itself. The author doesn't need to explain herself here. They're pretty hard to cheat at with esp, but even then- Saiki and (L/n) alike were looking for a fair fight. Which they got. Which lead to Saiki losing horribly.
"Partner, come on, stop losing!" Nendo pats Saiki on the shoulder as he stands up off the seat with a face of- to say the least, discontent.
"Shut up." Saiki glares.
"Not so easy now, huh?!" (L/n) teases, shit-eating grin on her face. Saiki breathes out. He is a patient man. He is not going to get competitive over this. The only one that can beat him is him and he will win the next game.
..Why does he even care?
Kuboyasu chose the last game. It was one of those games where you threw basketballs into a hoop for a certain time limit.
...
...would you be surprised if I told you Saiki lost again?
Saiki huffed as the machine made some stupid loud sound as (L/n) best his score. This time it was not his fault. He is perfectly fine at throwing the balls and would've made all the shots if he wasn't distracted.
He wasn't sure why he was. But for a minute there.. he couldn't take his eyes off (L/n). The way she focused on the game and her face lit up brightly every time she scored...by the time Saiki had realized he was staring he had basically already lost. This wasn't like him to get distracted. Something was off today.
Kaido had pointed out (how horribly Saiki had lost, and-) that they should get going. They'd spent a while at the arcade. Everyone agreed- if reluctantly- and grabbed their bags.
Walking out the arcade and towards there homes Kaido and Nendo continue to bicker- probably about the latest Jump.
"Stop looking so smug." Saiki comments, irritated with the girl.
"Whaaaaat?~" She laughs. "I'll make it up to you. You like sweets?" She asks. Saiki nods (violently) causing (L/n) to laugh. "I've got some coffee jelly back at my apartment. You should stop by."
Saiki nods in agreement- mainly for the coffee jelly, only about 1/8 for (L/n)'s company- as she waves goodbye to the other boys. Her apartment was only a couple blocks from Saiki's place.
"Alright then! Oh, look, they're playing baseball in the park again.. Wonder if Satou's playing." (L/n) points out as the pair pass the baseball diamond along their trek home.
There's a loud 'clang' and an indistinguishable shout before Saiki realizes.
..That the ball hit his head. Right in the power limiter. Shit. If he were alone, he could just teleport home and have his dad or mom try and fix it but (L/n) is right here. He's got one choice, and he's gotta pray that it works...
°·.¸.·°¯°·.¸.·°¯°·.¸.°·.¸.·°¯°·.¸.·°¯°·.¸
"Saiki!" You screeched, as the boy fell forward and you just ever so barely managed to catch him before he hits the pavement. The ball must've hit him hard.. it even broke one of those hairclips he has. You set him down gently, picking up his bag and throwing it over your shoulder. You slide your arms under him and pick him up, standing slowly.
Jesus Christ. You forgot how heavy guys are. The last time you carried a guy was when (F/n) passed out on field day in middle school. Saiki wasn't heavy necessarily but you weren't necessarily Hairo level strong. You wanted to take him back to his house and tell his parents but there was a small problem.
You had no clue where he lived. At all. You knew he only lived a couple blocks away from you because Kaido told you but you didn't know where. So the best option was to take him back to your apartment.
What became a 10 minute walk home became a 20 minute walk as you struggled to carry the boy. He was knocked out, hard.. whoever hit that ball had to have gotten a home run. You wouldn't be surprised if the guy got two.
So after struggling for 20 minutes, nearly dropping the knocked out boy when you tried to unlock your door, and just generally regretting your decisions, you finally were able to plop the boy on your couch. Your tablet that you generally used for drawing was blown up with notifications from (F/n). Whoops. You set the tablet on your coffee table, calling him as you take the broken hairpin out of Saiki's hair, wanting to fix it.
(F/n) picks up fast, halfway through his English screaming as the connection struggles. "WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU?! I'm losing sleep, woman!"
"I'm sorry!" You laugh, fiddling with the hairpin in your hand. The pink ball on top had come off and some of the pieces on the bottom of the inside fell out. "I was walking home with that Saiki guy and a ball hit him smack in the head. Broke his hairpin and he passed out. I'm trying to fix the hairpin now."
"...And the guy?" (F/n) hesitantly asks.
"Heavy as fuck." You snort. It looked like small computer pieces on the inside but, who are you to judge? The problem was now this was a jigsaw puzzle and you hated those things.
"(Y/n)!" (F/n) shouts, reprimanding you.
"Calm down, he's fine." You smile. "I gotta fix this damn hairpin though and you're gonna do your homework and sleep young man." You jokingly glare into the camera.
"Fine, MOM. Bye!" He waves and hangs up. You lean your back against the couch as you continued to sit on the floor, now too lazy to get up. There was 3 major computer looking chips which by some dumb luck, seemed to fit pretty well in certain spots. They 'click' in pretty easily and the small pink ball fits back on pretty easy.
"Well..that should be about right..!" You smile confidently to yourself as you hold up the hair clip in your vision. You stand slowly and hover over the sleeping boy before gently placing the hairpin back where it once was.
You observe him for a second as you stand up straight again. He looks.. peaceful while sleeping. He wasn't smiling but he wasn't necessarily frowning, either. Content, really. You smile as you take off his green lensed glasses and set them on your coffee table. They'll break if he sleeps in them all the time.
You wander off to your kitchen, finally picking up your school bad and setting it on your dinner table. You grab a snack out of the cabinet and begin looking through your bag, pulling out miscellaneous homework assignments. You catch a glimpse out your window- the sun was already setting..
You hear Saiki in the other room shuffle around as he seems to wake up. You grave a coffee jelly and spoon from your kitchen before wandering over to him.
The strawberry-headed boy had sat up on the couch, eyes looking around confused. Hey, that was a good nickname.
"Hey, Strawberry. You're awake." You grin. He looks up at you confused and you freeze for a second. His eyes..
You didn't usually see his eyes very clearly since, green glasses lenses. Even then you hadn't known him for long. But his eyes... they were a mesmerizing violet color that you couldn't take your eyes off of. Realistically speaking, they were as plain as ever. But for some reason you couldn't help feel your face go red. Who's the strawberry now, motherfucker?
"Where am I?" He asks you.
"My apartment. You knocked the hell out when that baseball hit you and I didn't know where you lived so I carried you here." You hold out the coffee jelly and spoon to him, hoping he'll get the gist. He does and takes the snack faster than you could blink twice.

Saiki took the coffee jelly from (L/n) greatfully, momentarily forgetting about his limiter that, as far as he last knew, was broken. He had knocked himself out when he was hit for a reason- he figured (L/n) would call one of his friends or someone else to help. He had better luck leaving it up to luck when passed out then staying awake and nearly starting a tsunami cause he breathed wrong.
"Oh, by the way," (L/n) starts, "I tried fixing your hairpin. I tried my best." Saiki looks at her a bit confused before taking out the power limiter, and looking at it carefully...it was put back together just about the exact same way it was before it got hit..
"Thank you." Saiki turns to (L/n). She smiles and nods. 'Oh thank god I didn't fuck up.'
"No problem." She smiles. Saiki loses his train of thought for a second as he watches the girl's face brighten. He turns to set down the now empty coffee jelly cup down on the coffee table. He blinks for a second. His glasses are set on the coffee table.
(L/n) must've taken them off, but why wasn't she turned to stone? She should be frozen in place a long while ago. He picks up his glasses and stands up, putting them over his eyes as he throws away the empty coffee jelly cup.
His mind was racing. Was this girl a physic? Why was she immune to so many of his powers? Why was she kinda cute?
(L/n) interested Saiki. She wasn't affected by nearly any of his powers and he wasn't sure how to feel about it. On one hand it confused him highly and made him want to be wary on the girl, but the other part of him was interested in this girl. She was someone who he saw as normal, she wasn't a nusience like the rest of his friends. His chest felt light with an emotion he wasn't quite familiar with. The ever intriguing girl had ignited something in him that he wasn't sure what it was.
"You okay?" She asks as Saiki stands in thought. He hesitates, but smiles. "Hey, Strawberry, it's getting late. Want me to walk you home?" She asks, now with a shit eating grin on her face. Saiki, yes, the strawberry, feels his face turn warm and his heart skip a beat at the nickname. He wasn't sure why. He sighs to himself. He's overthinking things today. His pyrokenisis must be acting up since his limiter was out earlier.
"...Sure..but what's with the nickname?" Saiki asks.
(L/n) shrugs as she stands, walking to her front door and bending down to put her shoes on. "I dunno. It fits."
Saiki sighs at this curious girl and grabs his own shoes, following her out the door.
The two walk in silence as the sun sets, darkening the world around them. (L/n)'s thoughts are generally quiet. 'Fuck, I'm cold. I should've brought a jac- or not?'
Don't get Saiki wrong here. He's only warming her up cause he feels bad. They continue to walk in silence, until they stop in front of Saiki's house.
"This is my h-" Before Saiki can finish his sentence none other than is mother, Kurumi Saiki, comes out the front door, fretful about her son.
"Oh, Ku~chan! Where have you been, I was so worried!" Kurumi frets as she hugs her son close. Saiki sighs and squints his eyes at (L/n), who has a shit-eating grin. Kurumi turns around and spots (L/n). "Oh, and who is this lovely lady?" She asks excitedly. Saiki about rolls his eyes into the back of his head.
"I'm (L/n)! I apologize for keeping your son out for so long. He passed out when we were walking home so I took him home cause I didn't know where you lived." (L/n) scratches the back of her head awkwardly. Kurumi's face lights up.
Saiki cringes as his mother pulls the poor girl into a hug. "Aah, thank you for looking after my boy you're just so sweet I'm his mom Kurumi Saiki thank you so much for befriending him!" Kurumi gushes so quickly the author forgot to write punctuation.
(L/n) finally gets to breathe again when Kurumi lets go of the hug. "It's nothing, really," She smiles. "He's cool."
Kurumi starts to gush once more when (L/n) laughs awkwardly. "You're really sweet, Mrs. Saiki, but I have to get going."
"Oh, of course! I'm sorry for keeping you! Have a good night." Kurumi smiles.
"It's alright. Bye!" (L/n) smiles as she walks off into the night. He walks inside with his mother and takes off his shoes before walking to his room, sighing as he sits at his desk.
Why does he have such a headache..?
