So about 20 minutes ago I was driving home with my sister and I hit a car in front of me at a red light. It's a rainy night and the roads are slippery so my tires couldn't get a good grip and I slid right into the back of this guy's car. It's totally my fault, I shouldn't have been driving as fast as I was in such weather and I definitely should have been keeping more space between our two cars. The driver in the other car, my sister, and myself all inspected both cars and couldn't find any damage. I got the guy's number and he got mine as well as took a picture of my drivers license and both cars. I however, being completely shaken up and not in the right frame of mind, as well as never having been in such a situation before, didn't think to take any pictures. I was embarrassed and horrified and wanted to get home. I'm now realizing how stupid this was after talking to my parents and I'm freaking out thinking about how this guy could go bash his car somewhere and say that I did it and I won't have any proof to show that I didn't do it!!!! I'm 21 years old so my insurance is high enough as it is and I can't afford to pay even a dollar more. I've texted him asking him for the pictures he took (lol..) so hopefully that works out but if it doesn't what the hell do I do if he comes after me? Like I said, my sister was there and witnessed everything...would that make a difference in the case? And please don't make me feel any worse than I already do about this.
