Some wenting about my job

so. my new job is great. Most of my male collegues are great. I know how to communicate with them. We can have a conflict and solve it.

Problem is. problem is. My other co-workers. Are absolute Karens. It sounds like mysogeny. So let me set the timeline.

I get a new job. I get a new job as first contact at a tech-support call centre. It's great. Good pay, 40h work-week, holidays off. Boss is actually a really good boss. professional, but friendly, if a bit health-obsessed.

My job is to learn the ropes. I get a bunch of co-workers. There's boundaries to be set. Well really, just the one, and that is: don't yell at me. Don't be shitty to me when you're in a bad mood. season four opinions that aren't me screaming about Eddie

Okay right off the bat: I'm sad that the Cali crew didn't get more screentime. Honestly, I feel like some of El's story could have been cut and we could've seen what was happening in Cali. I LOVE this version of Jonathan and I LOVE Argyle and I LOVE Mike getting to be a little bitch again. They just felt very removed from the story, which I get is the point bc they're all the way in Cali just-

Okay my larger is point is that all of the plots feel a little disjointed to me? Maybe when Vol2 comes out I'll eat these words like a silly little court jester, and maybe I'm misrembering anyway, but it seems like in previous seasons the plots have all been more connected? Like everyone was generally following different branches of the same tree. Again, maybe in Vol2 everything will make sense. It just struck me as off because that's something I really love about the show, everyone splitting up like Scooby Doo and reconvening at the end. Also, I find Vecna much less interesting after the Henry Creel explanation, though the thought of him monologuing to a bloody baby El is very funny.

Good things: As we all know, I love Eddie. I love him so much. I'm also pretty pleased that Lucas got a bit more screentime and development!! I think he's very interesting but by far the least developed party member. I love that Steve is back to his 'using oblong objects as weapons', and that him and Eddie basically have shared custody of Dustin. I LOVE that Max is working through a hell of a lot of trauma, one of my favorite things is showing the characters coping with what they went through. I really like that Mike was in a secondary group (I consider the Hawkins group to be the main), he really dominates scenes (which isn't a bad thing, he's a loudmouthed teenager) so it gives characters who are usually with him (like Lucas) more room to shine. I also really like his dynamic with Jonathan? Bc it seems like Jonathan has become a bit more confident, or at least less willing to be talked over, good for him. And I adore that Suzie cam back. Honestly I forgot that she was Morman so when they said Salt Lake City I thought 'Who tf could that be?'. She's great. You're right Suzie, the internet is the future. Also, is Eden free tonight? I really like El's skate attack scene, but not for the 'yeah, get that bitch!' reason. I like how it shows us the consequences of El's upbringing, that she basically has no ability to regulate or interact with her own emotions. I think this is called intrapersonal communication, but don't quote me on that. The past few years have been kind of a roller coaster of events and emotions and fate-of-the-world fights, and now without any of that (esp without her powers at all) she doesn't have any way to release any of the anger or grief or shame that's built up. She also never learned how to communicate her emotions to others that well, so even though she has a lovely family now (Joyce's "I have three kids" was very sweet), and I bet my left kidney Joyce would be willing to sit down and talk out some feelings, El doesn't have the tools to do so. Even though I found a lot of the Nina project scenes boring, El's story has a lot of emotional depth and is very interesting. I feel ike she's at her most interesting as a character, and that MBB is at her best as an actor, when El is in a regular shemuglar, everyday situation, because those types of scenes show us just how ill equipped she is to lead a civillian life, and once in a while they show us that she has a loving support system now who's willing to help her adjust. Last thing, I really like Murray. He's a nutcase, I love him and he and Joyce are a comedic duo. They should go on tour. As for ships:

Byler: never really cared about it, honestly. I'm not going to deny that that painting is pretty fruity but. Eh. Take it or leave it. I don't think Will is going to come out by the end of Vol2 though, I just don't see there being emotional breathing room the way there was for Robin last season.

Whatever the fuck is going on with Steve/Nancy/Jonathan: I'm an og Stoncy girl. That said, I think it'd be cool if Steve got to move on. Let him LIVE! I like Jancy best when they're working through a rough patch, though honestly I think the best thing for everyone would be to break up, heal and live a bit and grow as people, then maybe come back together in like a year or two. That's what I think would help them all (all as in everyone, bc even if Steve isn't in the relationship I think he and Nancy just need some space from each other) be healthier, happier people, so it's obviously not going to happen.

Mileven: Again, I have never cared. Eh. Maybe I just don't care about what Mike does that much.

If Marietta was unwilling to believe he's back she's kinda a moron- like what reason would Harry have to lie about the man who MURDERED his parents being alive?- Also knowing that Harry and his closest friends- which Hermione the one who made the contract is- at least believe he's back, she's a Racenclaw she should have known they wouldn't be playing around.

Yes, I agree! She feels guilty or something about Behrad, and something along the lines that Z1 is a better sister (in her mind).

I think Z2 plays up her... I don't know the right word, snobbyness? And sees it as teasing/having fun with Behrad but he doesn't really think it's as funny but just won't say anything (I hope that makes sense, like, she's not doing it on purpose, Behrad just won't say he doesn't like being teased like that) and before this episode she never realized what was going on in his head. Part self absorbed but also just part two regular family members who don't analyze how they communicate and have made mistakes, like any normal family. But realizing how much the TV show meant to him and why it meant so much to him...

Not to mention that she forgot his birthday (if I'm remembering correctly, Z1 asked after it, so she remembered, but I could be misrembered. I've only watched once, but either way this point still stands). She realized how little she understood the person her brother was and she just again had that realization that she's (and her parents, I'm pretty sure) have been focused on her and her career for both of their entire lives, leaving her little baby brother behind in many aspects.

I think she felt guilty- forgetting his birthday, learning about him, realizing how much she's been hurting him-- and decided that Z1 would be a better (and cooler, but that's a long culmination) sister, so she thinks she's giving Behrad what he wants and what he deserves (from her perspective-- I ache for a moment later when Behrad tells her explicitly that she is his sister, and Z1 is wonderful but she's not her and he just wants her, first and foremost).

And yeah, I feel like this is is gonna be a whole thing with Constantine but the thing is is I dont... think there's a completely fair solution? Is forcing Constantine to go in the totem fair? Is forcing Nate? Is it fair to split Zari, the person, into like, two week shift increments or whatever (like, is that really living life? you know what I mean). I don't think there is a "right" or "fair" way to handle this and at the end of the day, people are going to have to suffer. I think the outcome is going to depend currently on whatever happens to Constantine, but TBH-- neither Zari deserves to be hurt and it's going to hurt me.

That could turn into a beautiful and meaningful metaphor on what it means to live life, to be alive, to be in love, etc. But this is TV, a CW show no less, so I'm not expecting much.

Even tho Z1 is my 'preferred' character, i... I don't want to see Z2 hurt, you know? She's also just... a product of our environment and someone who will become increasingly relatable, especially to the kids of mommy bloggers and vloggers- she was basically content and money and while at first I thought her character was ridiculous, with just a second look I realized a lot of things about Z2.

Neither Z deserves to languish in the totem, but I predict that one of them will (if anything its just not very sustainable for Tala and it has to be exhausting). If things go worse with Constantine (I see a few people making dire predictions) I do think Z2 will chose to stay, or at least argue to be the one to stay with Z1.

I think its something that's easy for the rather socially uninvolved like me to laugh about but I think, especially in our time, its an important thing to think critically about- and in the context of this argument brings up so many valuable points-- Z2 was, arguably, forced to become this person. International mogul by nine or whatever young age-- she wasn't just a shallow, annoying person. She was really molded into that, but now she feels like a horrible person. A bad sister. She feels like she isn't actually worth much-- like she said to Ava last season, she's a cultivated personality but nobody knows or cared who she is. And Z2 is really feeling that again- unworthy, useless, like the lesser of two options. Which is a... really easy mindset to fall into when you're used to comparing yourself to others, and that's how Business Woman Z2 was forged, really. By being "better" than the other option and being trained to feel worthless and useless when she isn't (even if it's just perceived-- she feels like a bad and selfish sister, so in her mind, she's 'worse' and Behrad deserves the best)

(Just because I see a ton of kids now, and in the past with mommy blogs for example, being used as content. Even if you're just filming that kid completely organically-- ie, not scripting-- what ways are you subtly molding that child? How is that gonna effect their self worth later? And also the idea that the current rush of Self Entitled Teenaged/Young Adult Influencers isnt... their fault [at least not entirely]. They were raised as content-- that has to fuck up your perception of familial love and worth, as well as make them question what they are worth in and beyond that strict context. If they act selfish and entitled, maybe that's how they know, how they were raised, how their parents make them feel, what they think will earn them affection and love. Its not fair to treat child stars, now ranging into social media, as horrible people without giving them the opportunity to learn and mold and change and go to therapy, and I think Z2 helped.me examine this deeper.)

Listen Zari 1.0 is a personal fave and I adore her and IM SO HAPPY WE GET HER BACK FOR A WHILE but it seems like... its coming out of Zari2.0s depression or something.

The wntire episode it was just how much they missed Z1/talking about her the whole time and even Nate just didn't really... say anything when Z2 admitted she felt like nobody here actually cared about her.

It just feels like... she's going in the totem because she "knows" (from her perspective) that nobody will miss her, that they just want Z1 back, that they don't care for or about her. Z2 isn't necessarily (or maybe entirely is a better word) doing it for Nate and Z1 and Behrad and everyone else as much as she is doing it because she feels unloved and like she doesn't belong there. Especially not under Z1s shadow.

Almost like she is trying to 'sacrifice' herself (for lack of a less serious word) to make everyone else happy.
