hmm i don’t think there’s a neat comparison tbh but at a push i think a closer comparison would be cromwell x anne (which tbh i am less invested in tbf) because there’s more of a prior relationship there. the tragedy of h2 & becket is the love/friendship was there beforehand — and whilst i guess people disagree on how genuinely close anne and cromwell were, there was a working relationship there that makes the making & unmaking a more tangible betrayal, which just isn’t a thing for anne and jane. as far as we know, they never had a close relationship.
