pretty often when I say "polyamory would fix this" about fictional romances, I don't mean "their relationship problems would be resolved, and they'd live in conflict-free poly happiness"

rather, I mean "the story would be far more compelling if their issues were compounded by fumbling through non-monogamy"

which I think is far more interesting than another story about the "Most Troped Trope Ever" award winner.

or at least more funny
