A VERY lengthy ramble about Salmonids, Grizzco, and Big Run.
Aaaand this is the follow up to my previous long post where I talked about the new Drizzle Season maps with my stream of consciousness observations. It is long. I am sorry.
Now, I seem to be in the minority when I say that I absolutely love Big Run as an event. I sort of get this vibe that a lot of people aren't happy with it, and considering how infrequent it is compared to Splatfests, I can't say I blame them - especially considering how stacked against the odds the reward system is. Like, top 5% of the entire playerbase for a gold statue? The playerbase of one of the best selling Nintendo games of recent memory? That's a lot of people who're gonna be left in the dust simply by design. I honestly can't fathom why they made the PvE gamemode's event more competitive than the PvP one, but for someone like me? Between the two, I do enjoy Big Run more. I prefer mastering a difficult challenge with a rare accolade to prove it over the stomping/getting stomped that comes with Splatfests.
So yeah, there's gonna be a Big Run arc in Humanity's Endling. I am biased. I will admit to this. In fact, I'm even willing to spill the beans on the fact that Act II is the Big Run arc. You may think it odd that the Big Run arc is gonna be happening before the inevitable Alterna arc, but keep in mind that you are technically able to experience Big Run before the main story. In fact, the original trailer for Big Run sorta inadvertently hints at this since Mr. Grizz's radio is still the bear eating the fish, rather than the new one you get after clearing the main story. Now obviously, that's likely the case since Nintendo didn't wanna spoil that detail, but it's worth keeping in mind that the main story can just... never be done on a save file. Could be the final damn Splatfest of S3 before some asshole decides to actually do something about Cuttlefish lurking in the manhole, y'know?
Anyways, Um'ami Ruins as a Big Run map is... interesting. The first three maps we've had have all had some obvious way for the Salmonids to arrive - Wahoo World is on the coast, Inkblot was built on a river, and Undertow is literally the sewers, but Um'ami?
Tumblr media
We are in the desert. There is no water.
...or is there?
Now, bear with me for a second, because I'm gonna go full detective here. Full theorist. A game theorist, if you wi- *gets shot*
Why would the Salmonids even want to attack these ruins to begin with? Do they have some kind of deep rooted cultural vendetta against the people who built this place? Is there some sort of ancient artifact interred within these grounds which holds unfathomable power? Are the Salmonids simply stupid?
No, no, and no comment. It's a lot simpler, actually.
They're not after the ruins. They're after the town next to the ruins.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That clearly isn't Splatsville. It's nowhere near big enough. It's just some tiny town in the middle of literally nowhere that just so happens to border these ruins, and is likely where the excavators and archeologists that are working here live. Additionally, such a town in the middle of nowhere would need some kind of way to get water, and there's this cool invention made by none other than Mario "Jumpman" Mario himself (source: trust me) called 'motherfucking pipes'. Those pipes probably run under/around the ruins - hell, those pipes getting built might even be how the ruins got discovered in the first place - and the Salmonids, being the chaos incarnates that they are, hitched a ride.
But if that's the case, why are we fighting them in the ruins? One of two reasons: they're trying to secure the ruins as some sort of outpost first and we're stopping them before they do that, or Grizzco is actively countering them by cutting off their advance at the ruins themselves. I'd imagine there's likely some sort of measures at play as well to cut off the flow of pipes for the exact situation of, "oh god there's hundreds of fish climbing out of my toilet", which would even explain how all that water gets there. The waterways are closed; wherever it wells up is where Grizzco moves in, as that's the only place the Salmonids can emerge.
That's probably why the alarms were going off in Undertow Spillway, beyond a literal 'perimeter breach' alarm. They likely closed off every waterway going to/from the place to contain the advance, it gets dangerously close to overflowing, alarms start ringing... this is right underneath the city. Shit was dire.
Big Run is a phenomenon that is as much a natural disaster as it is a literal act of war. We get to play as the soldiers, since that's the 'fun' part, but like with any hurricane, tornado, typhoon, forest fire, flood, or earthquake, there's so many moving parts to the response that a lot of people don't know about. First responders, evac, medical, meteorological, just to name a few.
A lot of people seem to be under the impression that the Salmonids are just hapless victims of Grizzco, and Big Run is just them striking back after dealing with Grizzco for so long, but honestly? I disagree. I mean, Grizzco ain't exactly squeaky clean, that's for damn sure, but the Salmonids aren't all that great either. They have their own culture and belief system for how the world works, and part of that culture is one that idolizes combat to the point where they'll attack in droves simply because the clouds dictate. If anything, they probably respect Grizzco and it's workers to some degree for being such formidable opponents time and time again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Big Runs have been happening long enough for them to be mentioned in what's more or less the closest thing to an in-universe equivalent of the Bible, so their aggression is pretty heavily and historically documented. And clearly, they have no interest in joining the wider society outside of their clans in their murky waters (with Little Buddy being an extraordinary exception). Every sect of their society is trained for fighting one way or another; the smarter ones build and pilot weapons, the stronger ones are commanders, and they even have a place for the inexperienced where they serve as the snatchers. Their entire belief system is predicated on the idea that conflict makes one whole, that fighting and then dying is a process that lets them serve the cycle of nature. It's so deeply engrained into their way of life that they arm their children and send them to fight and die as well. They're a proud warrior race, through and through.
Does that justify Grizzco moving in to take their eggs? Because keep in mind, the Splatoon universe is also undergoing a constant energy crisis, and while we know Grizzco is doing shady stuff with the Golden Eggs... we're still collecting Power Eggs, too. In fact, that's literally the name of the job position - 'Freelance Power Egg Collector'.
On top of that, Grizzco isn't really keeping it secret. They're very open about what exactly is done. You go in, you fight Salmonids, you get their eggs, and you come back. It's a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it. It's legal, somehow.
Grizzco is likely providing legitimate aid for society through egg collection, which is probably how it's been able to grow to begin with - despite it being a front for Mr. Grizz's own schemes. Not only that, but society relies on Grizzco during Big Run. You can hate them all you want, but they're the ones who're making sure you still have a city to live in and power to run your damn internet.
But also, it's clearly not impossible to have some kind of positive relationship with the Salmonids, as the Octarians have managed to get some kind of trade deal going with them - although as of Splatoon 3, the Octarians seem to be less an actual army and more just the last few groupies Octavio still has after the Squid Sisters pulled some inspirational anime moment hijinks through the power of song twice. It just seems like the only thing the Salmonids are interested in are... more weapons. Weapons that they will then use during Big Run.
Imagine your neighbor breaking into your home and stabbing you with a knife you let him borrow because the clouds 'told him to'. It's... sorta easy to see why the rest of society hasn't really tried doing that. The Octarians probably didn't have much choice - or were at least comfortable with the trade since the Salmonids dwell on the surface, so they wouldn't be affected by their stampede.
Really though, it's a matter of two different shades of gray in constant opposition with each other. Lawful Evil versus Chaotic Neutral. Pick your poison.
If you haven't noticed, I've given this a lot of thought. Kaleb will have a ton to say in Act II about this whole situation. It truly is a uniquely fucked scenario, especially for someone who's world was taken away because of fighting like that... and that's without even getting into the actual things that'll happen during that act.
Before this post gets any longer, I do wanna put out a headcanon that'll be present during Act II, and that's the idea that there's only one Big Run that happens. I find it really weird and frankly absurd that this legendary, prophesized event of utter devastation at the hands of the Salmonids is... a neat, two day event that happens once every few months where they attack a single place and then leave. It's quite literally a biblical event, what's the deal?
So basically, the way I picture it is that Big Run is closer to a week, maybe longer, and basically everywhere is being attacked at once. Like, each Big Run we do ingame is just another theater for the fighting that's happening at the same time as the previous runs. Or, in other words, Wahoo World is under attack at the same time as Um'ami, and Inkblot is under attack at the same time as Undertow, and they're all under attack right now all at once. The fact that Mr. Grizz always acts like you've never heard of Big Run when it starts and the fact that you can hear the fighting in Inkopolis Square no matter the map honestly kinda lends to this idea.
It's just spaced out weirdly in the actual game's event lineup because having Big Run be a week long event that happens only once in the game's entire lifespan would be incredibly stupid from a commercial standpoint. Yes, I am huffing copium.
Anyways, I'm gonna stop myself here because holy shit this is a long post and it's so late that it's early. My sleep schedule is in shambles. I enjoy making these, though. I might do one regarding Alterna & Mr. Grizz himself when we get closer to the Alterna arc. Also I will still be playing Big Run tomorrow. Join me if you dare.

Ground Penetrating Radar Survey in Delhi: A Reliable Solution for Subsurface Exploration
In today’s rapidly growing world, accurate subsurface investigation plays a crucial role in various industries. Whether it's for construction, infrastructure development, or environmental research, knowing what lies beneath the surface is vital for making informed decisions. A ground penetrating radar survey in Delhi offers a non-invasive, efficient, and reliable way to explore subsurface conditions. From detecting underground utilities to identifying structural issues, GPR provides real-time, detailed data for a range of applications.
What is Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)?
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is an advanced technology that uses electromagnetic waves to scan and map the subsurface. A ground penetrating radar survey in Delhi sends high-frequency radio waves into the ground. These waves bounce back when they hit an object or material with different properties, such as utilities, voids, or rocks. The reflected signals are recorded and processed to create a detailed image of the subsurface, allowing professionals to assess the underground structure without excavation.
This method is highly effective in detecting underground utilities, voids, and even structural abnormalities. It's a valuable tool for industries such as construction, archaeology, and environmental studies, providing precise data while minimizing disruption to the site.
Applications of Ground Penetrating Radar Survey
Utility Mapping and Detection: One of the most common uses of a ground penetrating radar survey in Delhi is utility mapping. Before beginning any construction or excavation project, it is essential to know where underground utilities are located to prevent accidental damage. GPR can accurately detect a variety of utilities such as water pipes, electrical cables, gas lines, and sewer systems. This ensures the safety and smooth progression of construction projects by preventing costly mistakes.
Cavity Detection: Another important application of a ground penetrating radar survey in Delhi is cavity detection. Underground voids or cavities can pose a serious risk to the stability of a structure or project site. These voids can form due to erosion, mining, or natural processes and may go unnoticed without proper detection. GPR is highly effective in locating these subsurface cavities, which allows engineers to take preventive measures before any damage occurs.
Structural Integrity Assessment: GPR is commonly used for structural assessments, particularly for concrete structures such as roads, bridges, and buildings. A ground penetrating radar survey in Delhi can be used to examine the condition of concrete, detect cracks, delamination, or corrosion, and assess the placement of rebar. By performing these inspections, engineers can ensure the safety and integrity of existing structures, preventing costly repairs and ensuring long-term durability.
Archaeological Investigations: In archaeology, a ground penetrating radar survey in Delhi is a non-invasive method used to locate buried structures, artifacts, and remains. This technique is highly beneficial for preserving historical sites, as it allows archaeologists to explore without the need for excavation. By using GPR, archaeologists can gather valuable data on the location of buried objects and determine where further digging may be needed.
Environmental Studies: GPR is also used in environmental studies to assess the condition of the land, identify contaminants, and locate buried waste or landfills. A ground penetrating radar survey in Delhi can help environmental engineers identify areas that require remediation and guide cleanup efforts without disturbing the environment. The ability to gather accurate subsurface data is crucial for environmental safety and monitoring.
Why Choose Ground Penetrating Radar Survey in Delhi?
There are several reasons why the ground penetrating radar survey in Delhi is becoming the preferred method for subsurface exploration:
Non-Invasive Technique: One of the key benefits of GPR is that it is non-invasive, meaning it doesn’t require excavation or disturbing the ground. This makes it an environmentally friendly and efficient method for obtaining subsurface data without disrupting the site.
Real-Time Data: The ground penetrating radar survey in Delhi provides real-time results, allowing professionals to interpret data immediately. This quick turnaround helps with faster decision-making and reduces project delays, which is especially important in industries like construction and infrastructure.
Accurate and Detailed Results: GPR offers highly accurate and detailed images of the subsurface, providing valuable insights into what lies beneath the surface. The data collected can be used to assess the presence of utilities, voids, or other underground structures, allowing professionals to plan projects more effectively.
Versatility: A ground penetrating radar survey in Delhi can be used in various environments, from urban areas to remote locations. It works on a range of surfaces including concrete, asphalt, soil, and rock, making it a versatile tool for many industries.
Cost-Effective: Since GPR eliminates the need for extensive excavation, it significantly reduces the cost and time associated with traditional survey methods. This makes it an affordable option for projects of all sizes.
How Does a Ground Penetrating Radar Survey Work?
The process of conducting a ground penetrating radar survey in Delhi is straightforward, though it requires trained professionals to ensure accurate results:
Site Preparation: The first step involves assessing the survey site. The ground conditions, such as soil type and surface materials, are evaluated to determine the best approach for the GPR survey.
Survey Setup: Once the site has been assessed, the GPR equipment is set up. This can involve either handheld devices or larger vehicle-mounted systems, depending on the size of the area to be surveyed.
Data Collection: The GPR unit sends electromagnetic pulses into the ground. These pulses travel through the subsurface and reflect back when they encounter materials with different densities, such as utilities or geological layers. The system records the reflected signals.
Data Analysis: The collected data is then processed to generate detailed images of the subsurface. This data is interpreted by professionals to identify any anomalies, such as utilities, voids, or other structures.
Report Creation: After analyzing the data, a detailed report is generated, including the findings and recommendations. This report can be used for further planning and decision-making.
Conclusion
A ground penetrating radar survey in Delhi is an invaluable tool for anyone involved in construction, archaeology, environmental studies, or any project that requires a detailed understanding of subsurface conditions. It offers an accurate, non-invasive, and cost-effective way to explore what lies beneath the surface. Whether you need to detect utilities, locate voids, assess structural integrity, or conduct archaeological investigations, GPR provides reliable and timely data that helps professionals make informed decisions.
With its ability to provide real-time data and its versatility across different applications, the ground penetrating radar survey in Delhi is the go-to solution for anyone needing a thorough, efficient, and safe subsurface investigation. If you are planning any project that involves underground exploration, a GPR survey is the best way to proceed with confidence.

9:30ish am, 08/18/23
All works are temporarily on hold due to a wild fire close to my home.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
❤️ 💙
Update: 10:17am
All I can hear over the street construction for sewer are the echos of sirens in the city. The street construction crews are still working on my street. That tells me we are safe. For now.
Update: 2:40pm
More sirens. The air is thick and heavy with smoke. Burning embers are now hitting my neighborhood. Multiple areas have had small fires start up. We have set up sprinklers and started dousing our property.
Update: 08/19/23 - 2:55pm
The air quality is worse than before. We managed to get to the stores and get supplies to stock our van and camper. Lots of businesses are closed for the weekend, and if not, they close way earlier than before. We are all loaded and ready to go at a moment's notice.
Update: 08/20/23 - 8:10am
The fire has grown to 11,000 hectares as of 7:20pm last night. Over 30,000 people have been evacuated from their homes. A lot of people I know are. Power outages keep happening. The skies are still so smokey, we cannot see the mountains we are very close to. It's hard to see the houses down the street. Fire crews from all over British Columbia have come to our aid, which we are thankful for, even though we have multiple other fires happening in BC. As of yet, I am still lucky enough to be in my home with my family. Rest assured, we are packed and ready to leave when necessary.
On a lighter note, it is my eldest son's birthday today. We hope to make the most of this day. 🎂 ❤️
Update: 08/21/23 - 7:41am
First of all, my son loved his birthday yesterday. He understands what is happening as he's a teenager, so he wasn't expecting a big get-together with the fires happening. He was super happy he got ice cream cake and a whole pizza for himself and one for his best friend who was able to come spend the day with him. We gave him video game programming gear, new keyboard, new headphones, and movie tickets.
Secondly, it looks about the same today as it did yesterday. With the smoke in the air, the sun is red and it's cold outside when it supposed to be warm. Less sirens and one area on the evacuation map (that I noticed) has turned from evacuation now, to alert. It means those people in that area can go home for now, if local law enforcement allows it.
Update: 08/22/23 - 7:20am
I forgot to mention that all airports in our region are grounded and have been for at least two days due to the smoke and ash in thee air. All Canada post mail (to our region) has been put on immediate hold due to safety concerns. This is will definitely put a wrench into other delivery companies as well.
It finally rained last night. It was off and on all night. The smoke has cleared up enough to see the faded outline of the mountains 1 km away from me, finally.
One thing that boggles my mind is that so many people seem not bothered by the wild fires.
• The old lady I help was confused as to why I could not come on Friday or Monday. She apparently doesn't believe in getting ready for evacuation unless it actually happens. I have a family of 6, and 2 cats. I have to get all these people ready, as 2 are children, and 2 are seniors. My husband just had hip surgery 3 months ago, so he needs more help than he normally does.
• My father ignored my mother's pleas to pack up her things and get ready for the possible evacuation. He's a boomer that used to be a workaholic, and now he's retired and believes it's his God given right to be a lazy slob. So I had to do everything.
• The neighbor just gets on his motorbike and decides that going for a ride up the FIRE STRIKEN MOUNTAIN is a good idea.
• Other neighbors decided to have a BONFIRE in their back yard, while ash falls from the sky onto their heads.
• People in the city had the audacity to fire off FIREWORKS this weekend.
Tumblr media
Like, wow.
Update: 08/23/23 - 1:00pm
It rained all night. The skies are clearer and breathable today. More of the red excavation zones have changed to orange alert areas. People are now being allowed back into their homes. Packages and mail has started to arrive today.
Update: 08/24/23 - 7:16am
Yesterday was cool and mildly windy. We have a little more smoke lingering in the air than yesterday, but it's still better than it was on the weekend.
☆☆☆
Stay safe out there!
❤️ 💙

“Night of the Rogues” (part 2)
Tumblr media
PREVIOUSLY: In an attempt to defeat the Turtles once and for all, Shredder assembled a group of some of the team’s deadliest enemies: Rat King, Tempestra, Leatherhead, Scumbug, Antrax, Chrome Dome and Slash. This new villainous supergroup caused chaos throughout the city to lure the Turtles out of the sewers, and after capturing our heroes placed them inside the mascot statue of a pest control company, with a time bomb about to eliminate the green teens.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Rogues seem to have made a significant mistake in not taking April and the rest of the Channel 6 bunch hostage too. April and Irma find themselves unable to reach any of the team via Turtlecom, but meet up with Splinter, whose “sixth sense” has informed him that his students are in danger. He suggests that April contact Casey Jones by phone, while he will use the her Turtlecom to reach... Zach.
No! Flat no!
Really, Splinter? Insufferable child Zach is the second person you reach out to when you need help after Casey? Not REX-1, the super robot cop? Not Bugman, a legit superhero and friend of the Turtles? Not Usagi Yojimbo, a samurai warrior who as far as we know never did get back to his own dimension? Not Mondo Gecko, who was set up to effectively be a neighbour living near the Turtles in the sewers? Not Aunt Aggie, who may be an older lady but is nevertheless one of the most all-round capable heroes in the series? Hell, you could even dig Metalhead out of storage. I guess somehow all of these options escaped Splinter, the guy the Turtles turn to for wisdom, and so for one final time in Turtlethon we’ve gotta accept that this is now a Zach episode.
Tumblr media
To her credit, April does get in a shot by saying that she doesn’t think either Zach or Casey will be much help. Splinter, apparently unable to think for more than half a second, insists they’re “the only hope [they] have”, adding that he believes the Turtles “are in the greatest danger of their entire lives”. As much as I enjoy an adventure with high stakes, time bombs are standard fare for the Turtles to deal with, in broadcast time we just watched Donatello disarm one last week.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Did you think that the friends of the Turtles could just use a homing signal to determine where the Turtlecoms are? The next scene seems to exist entirely to shoot down that idea, as Donatello explains to the other Turtles that the metal frame of the pest control statue they’re trapped inside will make it impossible to reach them. Meanwhile, Krang’s excavation project is complete, and has revealed the starship of a legendary space pirate named Captain Logos, which crash-landed a thousand years prior to the city being built. Inside, Shredder and Krang find the Captain’s treasures. Shredder suggests having the Foot Soldiers begin dis-assembling the starship so that it can be rebuilt on the surface, but Krang has another idea, ordering the setup of a teleportation ray instead.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zach and Casey meet up with April, Irma and Splinter outside the Channel 6 building. Splinter now has some undefined handheld tracking device that doesn’t work in determining the location of the Turtles, and so Zach guides the group in searching for them by foot. (I don’t know why Zach gets to lead, I’d argue that he’s the least capable person here, even Irma has greater credibility.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The one member of the Channel 6 crew that The Rogues considered worth capturing was Vernon, who is dragged along by Leatherhead as he marches through town with the rest of the group. Cracks start to appear in the Rogues’ united front as Antrax makes an off-hand comment about how the world will soon be ruled by insects, agitating Rat King who dreams of a world conquered by rodents. Tempestra does her best to hold the operation together as Chrome Dome breaks off from the team to recharge, noting that he “has no use for money anyway”. Okay, but... neither do you, Tempestra, you’re basically an overgrown video game sprite.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Splinter and the other allies of the Turtles watch Chrome Dome break into a nearby building and follow him. Inside, Casey attempts to take on the robot but is hopelessly outmatched, getting tossed through the air without ever seen landing, presumably due to Saturday morning rules about how normal humans can be treated. Splinter and Zach attempt to double team the enormous warrior but are easily brushed aside. Eventually the group outwit Chrome Dome by luring him into a hydraulic press, rendering him non-functional.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zach hooks a standard PC up to Chrome Dome’s head and types “Where are the Turtles”. Somehow not only is the offline robot able to offer up this information but also a real-time countdown for the disintegrator device. With only a little over six minutes remaining, the group rush to the aid of our heroes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m sure everyone is itching to see how our favourite characters are going to get out of their current predicament. I refer, of course, to Bebop and Rocksteady, who have built a tower of wooden crates to reach the trap door. Punching their way through it, The Boys rush off to rescue their boss.
Tumblr media
Shredder and Krang are setting up to teleport the starship when Tempestra arrives, requesting the money agreed upon as the Turtles have been defeated. The video game villain is assured by Shreds that her payment will be materialising shortly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Inside the pest control statue Raphael retains his bad attitude, convinced that no human would ever do anything to help them in their time of need. Zach uses his small stature to slip through an air grate – I'm not sure why a roof-mounted statue of a pest control mascot would have all these facilities, but it does – and he soon frees the team, though a minute of time remains until the disintegrator is due to go off.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Rogues are thrilled to see the starship materialise, Shredder agreeing to share its riches with them. Moments later the Turtles arrive, using the device to blow up the ship and its contents. None of this is enough to placate Tempestra, who still demands what she’s owed on behalf of her team. Shreds counters that if the Turtles had been finished off as agreed, then none of this would have happened, but is outnumbered and forced to flee alongside Krang, the Rogues hot on their tails. With impeccable timing, Bebop and Rocksteady emerge in a transport module, pulling their bosses inside before tunnelling back underground.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now down to six members, the group of villains find themselves face to face again with the Turtles, with Donnie declaring that they “can’t beat all of us”. (Considering the only capable fighters the Turtles have added to their side since the last time are Casey and Splinter, I’m not convinced this is a monumental shift in the balance of power.) Realising that they won’t get paid for fighting now anyway, the Rogues break up, scattering into the night. In a rather defeatist moment, Michaelangelo remarks that there’s no point in pursuing them as “you know the villains always get away in the end”.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Splinter points out to Raphael that the events of the evening show how wrong he was about all humans being ungrateful and disdainful towards the Turtles. Raph agrees, but his new, kinder stance is immediately put to the test when Vernon emerges to yell at the team for allowing him to be dragged around town by Leatherhead. Michaelangelo gets the last word, pointing out that Vernon barely qualifies as a regular human being anyway. (Ouch!)
Throughout much of the time I’ve been writing Turtlethon “Night of the Rogues” has loomed large on the horizon, a marker that represents the point where the classic era of the series approaches its end. Here we have, at least on paper, one big blow-out that serves as a celebration not only of the many supporting villains the Turtles have encountered over the course of the show, but also the friends they’ve made along the way. There is a sense throughout that this is indeed a big event episode, but I can’t shake the feeling that the finished product pales in comparison to what it could have been. Shredder finally getting fed up and building a supergroup made up of the coolest villains we’ve seen in the show is the kind of fanservice I can get behind, but the line-up we get here could use some tweaking. So let’s do it.
Rat King, Slash and Leatherhead have all earned their place in this group, though how Shreds found Slash following the events of “Donatello Trashes Slash” remains unanswered. Similarly, while I’m a big Tempestra fan, her inclusion here makes absolutely zero sense, both in terms of her prior defeat at the hands of the Turtles and why a video game character is so keen to get paid. Ideally, then, the show would be allowed more time to show Shredder going around and recruiting each of the bad guys: this feels like a significant enough storyline that it deserves to be a two-part episode.
I hate that I have to say this because I do enjoy cool robots, but for all the hype leading up to his creation Chrome Dome was defeated so quickly that it invalidates his inclusion here. The one thing he had going for him was that he was staggeringly huge, and now he doesn’t even have that to the same extent. Scumbug and Antrax don’t fit either, this should be a group entirely consisting of established villains and each would be better served appearing in their own spotlight episodes.
That leaves us with three spots to fill, though admittedly it’s tough to select villains who are a good fit for this group. I would like to humbly suggest Alpha-1, the super-intelligent Foot Soldier: though Shredder didn’t get along with him, it’s not hard to envision a scenario where Shreds pulls the robot out of whatever dimension he wound up in and is somehow able to regain control over him, forcing him to work as part of the group. Rudolph Cobrato was a one-and-done villain who was defeated at the end of “Snakes Alive!”, but would work great within this group were he to somehow revert to his mutant form; finally Wingnut and Screwloose would provide two villains for the price of one: they were woefully underused in their one and only appearance, and if Zach must appear they have a prior history with him that could be worked into the proceedings too.
As alluded to earlier, Splinter only being able to come up with two allies to call for help and one of them being Zach, of all people, is some weak sauce. My ideal line up, I think, would retain Casey alongside Usagi, Mona Lisa, REX-1 and Aunt Aggie, with April, Irma and Splinter on the sidelines offering support in their own way. Again, we’d need at least two episodes to convincingly round up all these past characters and integrate them into the story, though with only fourteen episodes produced for broadcast in 1993 that’s a bigger ask than it was in years prior.
Armchair booking notwithstanding, the finished product is hampered by the diminished cast of voice actors. James Avery is gone, but I wish this could have been his last appearance instead of “White Belt, Black Heart”, as Shredder’s frustrations boiling over and leading to the creation of his villain supergroup feels like a big enough and fitting way to bow out. The absence of Jim Cummings as Leatherhead doesn’t help either.
And now the goodbyes. Zach (YES!), Tempestra, Leatherhead, Chrome Dome and Slash all appear for the last time here. Antrax and Scumbug won’t be back either, though given that we’d never seen them in the show prior to this, admittedly that doesn’t count for much. Departures will continue through much of the rest of the season, as David Wise begins the process of restructuring the show ahead of the radical departure to come in season eight: of the next five episodes, four will mark the last appearance of established supporting heroes or villains. The first of these will feature the hip-talking friends of the Turtles from Dimension X in “Attack of the Neutrinos”.

Nick and I finally got to do some yard work today.
Weeding the front was a nightmare-- the grass has grown in so thick in the borders that I felt like I was excavating an ancient civilization trying to uncover the tulips, peonies, roses and possibly phlox? In any case there's still lots more work to do. There are way too many roses here. The tulips are starting to open and they are very plain-looking. The brick flower box is full of mint (why?! It's going to be so hard to get rid of!) and those box hedges are going to have to go; they are so ugly and they were full of beer cans. We raked over the scar from where the sewer line got dug up, and Nick spread some grass seed.
The back yard is starting to come back to life as well. The border appears to consist of giant climbing Roses, regular roses, clematis which is so overgrown I don't even know where to start, Japanese maples, peonies, and what I think is phlox but could be something else. I made the mistake of buying a bunch of full-sun plants to put in the flower box out front, not realizing that it only gets morning sun. So now my coneflowers, black-eyed susans, liatris, and delphineum need somewhere else to live in the back yard. It strikes me as odd that there is not a single daffodil on this entire property. That will definitely change.

Key Applications of Mini Excavators in Urban Environment
Tumblr media
Urban environments invariably and implicitly mean narrow streets, busy traffic, and towering buildings. Imagine a large machine in the midst of this. An assured chaos, almost like an elephant placed mid-street. Instead, picture a mini excavator working its magic, squeezing into tight corners, and tackling jobs that bigger machines simply can’t. Pretty impressive, right? Well, that’s why people opt for mini excavators for sale. Construction companies have these machines in their arsenal because they do heavy-duty work without taking up too much space. Still wondering why these machines are an all-time favourite among city planners as well as contractors? Here are some applications for you to look at!
#1 Roadwork and Sidewalk Maintenance
City roads and sidewalks take a beating over time, and when it comes to their repair work, nothing gets the job done better than mini excavators. From patching up potholes to repairing curbs or digging up and replacing damaged sewer lines, these machines can handle a wide range of tasks.
With their compact sizes, they can dive through busy streets and not cause any major disruptions. In addition, they can also access areas that larger equipment cannot. Whether it’s about digging up asphalt, trenching for utilities, or even working in pedestrian-only zones, mini excavators make road and sidewalk maintenance easier, quicker, and less disruptive.
#2 Site Cleanup and Demolition
Urban planning doesn’t just involve construction; it also involves demolition, which means taking down old buildings, clearing out debris, and prepping up the site for new construction. While large excavators can do the heavy lifting, mini excavators are perfect for smaller and more delicate tasks.
From knocking down walls and removing concrete to clearing away rubble in tight spaces, mini excavators provide the precision and power necessary for the task without disturbing surrounding areas. In addition, they are also great for interior demolition where larger machines can’t reach. Their mobility allows them to easily maneuver through doorways and around tight corners, which makes them great for tackling projects in urban environments where space is always a luxury.
#3 Foundation Work for Small-Scale Construction
Not every construction project in a city requires massive cranes and bulldozers. When it comes to smaller-scale construction, like building homes, townhouses, or small commercial buildings, mini excavators are often the go-to choice. Their ability to dig precise, narrow trenches for foundations, footings, and drainage systems makes them invaluable.
They can also be used to clear debris, level ground, and even assist with backfilling once the foundation is set. In crowded urban areas where space is tight, mini excavators can work around existing structures, making them ideal for building on small plots of land.
Conclusion
Mini excavators work like a charm for small-scale operations, but they are equally beneficial in the large-scale arena as well. Just ensure that you get these mini beats from the right supplier, and you will be all set to make your next construction project seamless. Searching online for mini excavators for sale? Shop for them at Elvaan Equipment Solutions today!

Ultimate Guide to Drain Repair Mount Gravatt – What You Need to Know
Tumblr media
When it comes to maintaining the integrity of your home, drain repair Mount Gravatt is essential for avoiding costly water damage and unpleasant odors. Over time, drains can become clogged, cracked, or damaged due to various factors like tree roots, debris buildup, and general wear and tear. Without proper repair and maintenance, these issues can escalate into more serious problems, leading to expensive repairs and potential health hazards.
Common Drainage Problems in Mount Gravatt
1. Blocked Drains
One of the most frequent issues homeowners face is blocked drains. This can be caused by:
Hair and Soap Buildup – Accumulation of hair and soap residue in bathroom drains.
Food Waste and Grease – Kitchen sinks often get clogged due to improper disposal of grease, fat, and food scraps.
Foreign Objects – Items like wipes, paper towels, and hygiene products can block pipes.
Tree Roots Intrusion – Roots from trees and plants can invade underground pipes, causing severe blockages.

In cases of severe pipe damage, excavation may be necessary to replace broken or collapsed sections. While this method is more labor-intensive and costly, it ensures a long-term solution to drainage issues.
When to Call a Professional Plumber
While minor blockages can sometimes be fixed with DIY methods like using a plunger or a drain cleaner, professional intervention is recommended if you experience:
Persistent slow drainage
Recurring blockages
Unpleasant odors from drains
Water pooling around your property
Unexplained increase in water bills
Hiring a qualified and experienced plumber in drain repair mount gravatt ensures that the root cause of the problem is accurately diagnosed and effectively resolved.

How to Prevent and Fix Sewer Line Clogs Conroe TX Without Breaking the Bank
Sewer line clogs Conroe TX homeowners encounter can lead to major plumbing repairs and unexpected expenses, but with the right preventive measures, you can keep your drains clear and your budget intact. Sewer line clogs are often caused by a buildup of grease, soap scum, hair, food waste, and non-biodegradable materials. Over time, these substances accumulate inside your pipes, restricting water flow and eventually leading to a complete blockage.
Additionally, tree roots seeking moisture can penetrate sewer pipes through small cracks, expanding over time and causing significant obstructions.
If you suspect sewer line clogs Conroe TX are affecting your home, there are several signs to look for. Slow-draining sinks and tubs, toilets that gurgle or bubble when flushed, and foul sewer odors coming from your drains are all indicators of a developing problem.
If left untreated, these minor annoyances can escalate into severe blockages that cause wastewater to back up into your home, resulting in property damage and potential health risks.
The good news is that fixing sewer line clogs Conroe TX doesn’t have to break the bank if you take early action. Plumbers use a variety of cost-effective methods to clear clogged sewer lines, including drain snaking, which uses a flexible auger to break apart blockages, and hydro jetting, which blasts high-pressure water through the pipes to remove grease, debris, and even tree roots. Camera inspections are also a valuable tool for diagnosing the exact location of a clog, allowing for targeted repairs without the need for extensive excavation.
Preventative maintenance is the best way to avoid costly repairs and sewer line clogs Conroe TX homeowners dread. Simple habits like disposing of grease in a separate container instead of pouring it down the drain, using drain strainers to catch hair and food debris, and being mindful of what gets flushed down the toilet can go a long way in keeping your pipes clear. Additionally, scheduling routine professional drain cleanings can help remove buildup before it turns into a blockage.
Don’t let sewer line clogs Conroe TX become a financial burden. By staying proactive with maintenance and addressing issues at the first sign of trouble, you can save yourself from expensive plumbing repairs and ensure your home’s sewer system continues to function smoothly. If you’re experiencing persistent drainage problems, contact a local plumber to assess the situation and provide a cost-effective solution before it gets worse.

Drain Repair Solutions for Apartment Buildings in Bayonne
If you own or manage an apartment building in Bayonne, NJ, you know how crucial it is to keep your plumbing system in top shape. One of the most common and frustrating issues in multi-unit buildings is drain problems. Clogged, slow, or damaged drains can lead to water backups, foul odors, and even major plumbing disasters if left unchecked. But don’t worry—Silva Plumbing and Heating is here to help with top-notch drain repair solutions tailored for apartment buildings.
Common Drain Issues in Apartment Buildings
Apartment buildings deal with a lot more wear and tear on their plumbing systems compared to single-family homes. With multiple residents using sinks, showers, and toilets daily, it’s no surprise that drains can quickly become clogged or damaged. Here are some of the most common drain problems:
Clogged Drains – Hair, soap scum, grease, food scraps, and other debris can build up over time, leading to slow or completely blocked drains.
Recurring Drain Issues – If the same drain keeps clogging, it could be a sign of a deeper issue in the plumbing system, such as tree root infiltration or pipe misalignment.
Sewer Line Backups – When the main sewer line gets clogged, it can affect multiple units, leading to wastewater backing up into sinks, tubs, or toilets.
Leaks and Pipe Damage – Over time, old pipes can corrode, crack, or shift, leading to leaks or water damage within walls or ceilings.
Foul Odors – Unpleasant smells coming from the drains could indicate a buildup of bacteria, sewer gas leaks, or a blockage that needs to be addressed immediately.
How to Fix Drain Problems in Apartment Buildings
Addressing drain issues in an apartment building requires professional expertise. Quick DIY solutions like chemical drain cleaners often cause more harm than good, especially in older plumbing systems. Here’s what a professional drain repair service, like Silva Plumbing and Heating, can do for you:
1. Drain Cleaning Services
A professional drain cleaning service uses advanced tools like hydro jetting and motorized drain snakes to clear tough blockages. Unlike store-bought drain cleaners, these methods don’t damage your pipes and provide long-term solutions rather than temporary fixes.
2. Sewer Camera Inspections
If you’re dealing with recurring drain problems, a sewer camera inspection is a game-changer. This technology allows plumbers to pinpoint the exact cause of the issue, whether it’s tree roots, pipe misalignment, or a deep clog. Silva Plumbing and Heating uses state-of-the-art camera inspections to diagnose and fix drain issues efficiently.

In cases where the main sewer line is cracked or collapsed, repairs or full replacements may be necessary. With trenchless sewer repair technology, Silva Plumbing and Heating can fix sewer lines with minimal disruption, avoiding major excavation work.

Excavation Permits: What Homeowners and Contractors Need to Know
Understanding Excavation Permits
Excavation is a crucial step in many construction, landscaping, and infrastructure projects. However, before breaking ground, it’s essential to obtain the proper excavation permits to ensure compliance with local regulations and safety standards. Whether you’re a homeowner planning a backyard project or a contractor working on a large-scale development, understanding excavation permits can save you time, money, and legal complications.
At Dark Horse Drilling, we specialize in excavation in Jonesboro, AR, offering expert drilling and excavation services that prioritize safety and efficiency. In this guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know about excavation permits, including why they are necessary, how to obtain them, and what to expect during the permitting process. If you're planning an excavation project in Jonesboro, AR, our team is here to help you navigate the process seamlessly.
Why Do You Need an Excavation Permit?
Many homeowners and contractors assume they can start digging without official approval. However, most cities and municipalities require excavation permits for projects that involve disturbing the ground. Here’s why:
✅ Safety Compliance – Permits ensure that excavation work does not interfere with underground utilities such as gas, water, or electrical lines.
✅ Environmental Protection – Regulations help prevent erosion, protect natural water sources, and minimize land disturbances.
✅ Legal Requirements – Digging without a permit can result in hefty fines, work stoppages, or even legal action.
✅ Project Quality & Standards – Permits ensure that excavation follows best practices, reducing risks such as sinkholes, foundation instability, or flooding.
When Is an Excavation Permit Required?
The need for an excavation permit depends on the scope and depth of your project. Generally, you will need a permit if your project involves:
🔹 Digging trenches for utilities (e.g., water, sewer, gas, or electrical lines)
🔹 Excavating foundations for buildings, garages, or extensions
🔹 Land grading and site preparation for construction
🔹 Drilling or boring holes for wells, poles, or fences
🔹 Pond or drainage system installation
🔹 Excavating public or commercial property
For minor projects, such as planting trees or small landscaping work, permits may not be required. However, always check with your local building department before starting.
How to Obtain an Excavation Permit
The process of obtaining an excavation permit varies by location but generally follows these steps:
1. Check Local Regulations
Each city or county has its own rules for excavation. Visit your local building department website or contact them directly to determine if a permit is necessary for your project.
2. Submit an Application
Most applications require:
Project details (size, depth, purpose)
Site plans or blueprints
Contractor information (if applicable)
Environmental impact assessment (for larger projects)
Permit fees (costs vary depending on project size)
3. Utility Location Inspection (Call Before You Dig!)
Before excavation begins, you must contact 811 – the national “Call Before You Dig” service. This ensures that underground utilities are marked, preventing accidental damage and hazardous situations.
4. Obtain Permit Approval
Once reviewed, the city or county will issue an excavation permit. Processing time can range from a few days to several weeks, depending on project complexity.
5. Schedule Inspections (If Required)
Certain projects require periodic inspections to ensure compliance with local safety codes. Be sure to schedule these as needed.
Common Challenges in the Excavation Permit Process
Permit Delays – Incomplete applications or missing documents can slow down approval. Always double-check your paperwork before submission.
Unexpected Utility Conflicts – If underground utilities are discovered, project plans may need to be adjusted. Working with experienced professionals, like Dark Horse Drilling, can help navigate these obstacles.
Zoning and Environmental Restrictions – Some areas have strict rules about excavation due to environmental concerns. Research local zoning laws beforehand to avoid delays.
Permit Costs – Fees vary, but larger projects may require additional environmental impact studies or soil testing, increasing costs.

How Sewer Camera Inspection Helps Detect Hidden Issues in Your Drainage System
In the realm of property maintenance, ensuring a fully operational drainage system is paramount. Problems within drainage systems can lead to significant issues, including water damage, unpleasant odors, and health hazards. Traditional inspection methods, while useful, often fall short of revealing the intricate problems lurking beneath the surface. This is where sewer camera inspection technology comes into play, offering a precise and effective means of diagnosing hidden issues in drainage systems.
Tumblr media
Understanding Sewer Camera Inspection
Sewer camera inspection utilizes advanced technology to provide a visual assessment of drainage systems. A flexible camera is inserted into the sewer lines, allowing professionals to capture real-time video footage of the internal condition of the pipes. This method enables a thorough examination of the drainage system without the need for invasive digging or extensive disruption.
The use of sewer cameras has revolutionized the way property owners and maintenance professionals approach drainage issues. No longer reliant on guesswork or rudimentary assessments, inspections can be conducted with accuracy and efficiency, revealing problems that are otherwise concealed from view.
1. Identifying Blockages and Clogs
One of the primary benefits of sewer camera inspection is its ability to identify blockages and clogs within drainage systems. Over time, debris such as grease, tree roots, and foreign objects can accumulate in pipes, leading to reduced water flow and potential backups. Traditional methods of detecting these blockages often involve trial and error, which can be time-consuming and costly.
With sewer camera inspection, property owners can pinpoint the exact location and nature of the blockage. This targeted approach allows for more effective and efficient cleaning or repair efforts. By addressing clogs promptly, property owners can prevent more serious issues, such as sewage backups and extensive water damage.
2. Detecting Pipe Damage
Pipes can suffer from various forms of damage over time, including cracks, corrosion, and misalignments. These issues can result from natural wear and tear, extreme weather conditions, or even tree root intrusion. Identifying such damage early is crucial to preventing further complications.
A sewer camera inspection provides a detailed view of the pipe's interior, allowing professionals to assess the condition accurately. By detecting damage early, property owners can take the necessary steps to repair or replace the affected sections of the drainage system, ultimately saving them from more significant repair costs down the line.
3. Locating Leaks
Leaks in a drainage system can lead to serious issues, including water loss, structural damage, and the potential for mold growth. However, locating the source of a leak can be challenging without proper tools and techniques. Traditional methods often involve extensive excavation, resulting in disruption and damage to landscaping.
Sewer camera inspection offers a non-invasive solution for detecting leaks. By visually inspecting the pipes, professionals can identify areas where water may be escaping. This allows for precise repairs, minimizing the need for extensive digging and reducing the risk of further damage to the property.
4. Understanding Pipe Composition and Age
Knowing the material and age of the pipes in a drainage system is essential for effective maintenance. Different types of pipes have varying lifespans and maintenance needs. Sewer camera inspection can provide valuable insights into the composition of the pipes, helping property owners make informed decisions regarding repairs or replacements.
By understanding the condition and age of their drainage system, property owners can develop a proactive maintenance plan. This foresight can prevent unexpected failures and extend the overall lifespan of the drainage system.
5. Reducing Future Maintenance Costs
Investing in sewer camera inspection can lead to significant long-term savings for property owners. By identifying and addressing issues early, they can avoid costly repairs and extensive damage. Additionally, proactive maintenance based on the insights gained from camera inspections can help extend the life of the drainage system, further reducing the need for expensive interventions.
Regular sewer camera inspections can become a cornerstone of a comprehensive property maintenance strategy, ensuring that potential problems are identified and addressed before they escalate.
Conclusion
In conclusion, sewer camera inspection is an invaluable tool for property owners seeking to maintain the integrity of their drainage systems. By providing a clear and detailed view of the pipes, this technology helps identify blockages, detect damage, locate leaks, and understand pipe composition. These insights not only facilitate timely repairs but also contribute to long-term cost savings and efficient maintenance.
For professional sewer camera inspection services, Onn Point Civil Engineering is a trusted resource that can assist property owners in safeguarding their drainage systems and ensuring optimal performance.

Fortunately, professional solutions are just a call away. This blog will delve into the causes of blocked drains, the importance of timely repairs, and how expert plumbing services can help resolve the issue efficiently.
Tumblr media
Common Causes of Blocked Drains
Understanding the root cause of a blocked drain is the first step to fixing the problem and preventing future occurrences. Here are some of the most common culprits:
Build-Up of Hair and Soap Residue
Hair and soap residue are frequent offenders, particularly in bathroom drains. Over time, these materials can accumulate and form stubborn blockages.
Food Waste and Grease

Factors Affecting Sewer Line Installation Cost Per Foot and How to Save Money
When considering the installation of a new sewer line, understanding the factors that affect sewer line installation cost per foot is essential in managing your budget effectively. Many variables come into play, with the most significant ones being the length of the sewer line, the materials used, and the complexity of the project. The type of material you choose for the sewer line can have a major impact on the cost per foot.
PVC pipes are often the most economical choice, but they may not be as durable or long-lasting as other materials like ABS, ductile iron, or even stainless steel. More expensive materials typically come with better warranties, increased lifespan, and resistance to corrosion, which may make them worthwhile in the long run despite their higher upfront cost.
Soil conditions and terrain also play an important role in determining sewer line installation cost per foot. For example, if your property has clay or rocky soil, it can significantly increase the difficulty of excavation. In such cases, plumbers may need to use specialized tools or machinery, which will result in higher labor and equipment costs.
Additionally, if your property is located in an area with difficult access or dense landscaping, such as a garden with trees and shrubs, the cost may go up due to the extra time and effort required to dig and reroute the sewer lines.
Another factor to consider is the presence of any pre-existing infrastructure. If there are utility lines, gas pipes, or other existing sewer lines in the area where you plan to install the new pipe, additional precautions will be needed to avoid damaging them. This may include relocating or rerouting utilities, which can drive up the total cost of installation.
Furthermore, if the sewer line needs to be installed beneath a road or driveway, special equipment and methods like trenchless installation will be necessary. Although trenchless technology can be more expensive upfront, it can save homeowners on future repairs by preserving their landscaping and infrastructure.
To save money on sewer line installation cost per foot, consider getting multiple quotes from licensed professionals to ensure you're getting the best value for your budget.
You may also want to inquire about financing options, as some plumbing companies offer payment plans or discounts for larger projects. In some cases, homeowners may even be able to avoid some costs by opting for trenchless installation, which, while pricier initially, may offer savings in the form of avoided landscaping repairs.
