My one big beef with Criminal Minds this far is Penelope Garcia not being played by a Latina actress ;-;
#can you imagine a fat brainy weird latina on a big popular show ????#the hardest move of the century#apparently ‘Garcia’ was originally written for a latino man#which if they were open to have a woman in that role why not a latina ?#or even if Kirstens audition was so good that they’d just give her the role immediately#(which I wouldn’t be surprised if it was shes terrifc in the show)#why not change her characters last name to something american sounding#or even change it to a norwegian last name to match her personal roots#like it’s probably v small and petty issue to have#specially for an early 2000s show#but this is NOT the first time I look at an actor who’s playing a latino character only to find out they aren’t latin at all ;-;#and I’m pretty sure it won’t be the last time it happens either
