Everyone knows how Nico is the ghost king, but can you imagine Percy meeting and falling head over heels for a daughter of Melinoe? She may as well be a living ghost queen because of her control over ghosts.

I imagine she shows her love for him in strange ways since regular lovers give each other flowers and chocolate, what the reader does? She shows up in his nightmares and battles off any monsters giving him trouble. She also did something weird for Valentine’s Day, but I’ll leave that up to your imagination 😉

Maybe she even has magic, to smaller extent to the Hecate cabin? (Blame Hades II and my love for magic for that idea), I don’t know, I can just see her having a lot of tricks up her sleeves.

Ok so I headcanon any child related to any underworld gods/goddesses usually have like dark eyebags, so Percy meeting Reader for the first time kinda freaks him out. A lot.

Reader just emerges from the darkness of the forest with shadowy figures following close behind, bro really believes that his soul was chosen to be reaped because the way they would look at him with dead eyes LMAO💀💀

But you were just walking around. In the dark. Lowkey talking to yourself until you saw Percy

I think Percy would find reader very odd at first, considering all the other people he’s met

Their dark eyebags and dull appearing skin makes them look like a walking corpse, and the way that they would just be lurking in the shadows, kinda talking to themselves would make him raise an eyebrow

But he didn’t know that you were just talking to the ghosts surrounding you, all of them yapping about ‘unfinished business’ they have

Reader would often be seen around camp looking a bit jittery, almost like they’re hiding from something but you’re just trying to avoid the ghosts that won’t leave you alone

“Shh shh, fine I’ll help you Jonathan. But later, people are looking at me again. Now leave me alone, oh gods Percy is walking over, leave leave!”

Since no one can seem these ghosts reader can see, Percy genuinely thinks you’re just off your rockers

Until you reveal how you’re mother is Melinoe, goddess of ghosts (he would be confused at first since he probably had no idea who that was💀💔)

Imagine Melinoe!Reader can like allow people to see ghosts if they’re touching them in some way!!! So to show the poor boy that you’re not crazy, your cold ass hands touch his arm and BOOM! Percy cannot believe all these ghosts just SURROUNDING reader

After that the rest is history

They both would grow so much closer since Reader finally chooses to fully trust in Percy as he accepted them and all their weird and scary abilities!!

Percy starts tagging along with reader when they go to take ghosts to the underworld, though Hades isn’t happy to see him most of the time

“It’s fine uncle, Percy’s just helping me.”

“How can he help you if he can’t even see the ghosts grabbing him?”

“Wait they’re grabbing me?!”

“He’s messing with you Percy.”

Reader and Nico would also be pretty close too

Since they’re able to summon ghosts, Nico sometimes asks if he can see Bianca, and they all sort of just have random get togethers in the middle of the night

Nico and Reader also shadow travel together whenever he needs someone to talk to

Melinoe!Reader would be a BIG gift giver, but they aren’t the most conventional gifts 💀

While some would gift flowers or plushies, reader would probably give him like wilted flowers and trinkets they claim would ward off unwanted spirits, and maybe even an authentic dreamcatcher too!!!!

Reader might even give him bones of small dead animals, which he accepts with a grimace on his face

“Wow ok! Um where did you find these exactly haha!”

“Oh you know, I was walking around the forest and began finding these small bones! Then I went further and found larger ones and then even larger ones! I would’ve taken one but it was too heavy, so you get the small ones.”

He would keep them in a glass jar that’s next to his bed though because it’s the thought that counts <3

He would also bring you SHELLS he finds whenever he’s by the the beach, sometimes even going to deeper waters to find the prettiest ones for your own collection🐚

Percy definitely carries a bag so you and him could put bones and shells in it to take home if you’re out of camp

I also would think that sleeping around reader would give anyone in their vicinity nightmares so they usually appear in Percy’s dreams to fight off any nightmarish monsters

At first he thinks he’s going crazy that he keeps seeing you in his nightmares until you explain that you can travel through dreams, hence why you’re basically in his brain now

AND FOR THAT VALENTINES DAY THOUGHT

I think Reader would think a good idea date for both of them would try summoning some kind of powerful ghost during the night for fun😭

Like at first Percy thought it was a cute picnic date and was like aww they’re so cute🥰 until he sees the ritual circle and is like what😀

He’s like super worried that your soul is gonna get possessed or something so he just keeps holding your hands to keep you grounded to the living world while you continue chanting and smiling

This dude can’t catch a break with you

During battles is when everyone around experiences what readers true power and magic is

While they may appear weird on the outside, them summoning ghost after ghost and making them solid life forms sends shivers and chills throughout every living persons body

It’s a really unsettling feeling tbh

So while Nico can summon the undead, you’re able to summon ghosts which makes you guys the perfect duo when fighting together

And they’re able to make their opponent hear the whispering voices of the ghosts around them which usually drives the fear factor up by a LOT

They could also sap any energy in their opponents body but they need to be touching the person which involves fighting in close range

I think Reader could also possibly drag out the soul of a living persons body, but it’s a theory since they haven’t fully tried going through with it

Also random thought but Melinoe!Reader loves going underwater with Percy because it’s the one place ghosts can’t follow them

So it’s just like, they can finally breath and not have a million voices demanding things from them

Percy is just super happy to help them in way he can

Plus it means he gets to spend more one on one time with you without having to worry about any ghosts watching their every move

Reader and Percy have matching rings that ward off any evil and vengeful ghosts

OH ANOTHER THOUGHT TO FINISH THIS OFF

Readers hands are super cold and I like to think Percy’s hands are super warm, so whenever they hold hands it’s like a clash that they both like

And when they hold hands, Percy is able to the world through Readers eyes

Which means that Percy kinda bullies the ghosts into leaving Reader alone for a while and getting some kind of privacy💀😻😻

Percy is super in love with this reader despite the unsettling vibes they can sometimes radiate

Reader is just happily digging up more bones to add to Percy’s growing collection :D

WAIT OMG HANG ON ZAGNOS AU IDEA

What if,,, when the house of hades fell, when Zagreus was about to be swept away to wherever he was going to be taken,,, Hypnos pulled him into the eternal slumber too. It was all so fast and last second that Hecate grabbed both of them, now comatose and fled.

So,, Zagreus and Hypnos lay dormant and sleep in the crossroads, Melione grows up SEEING her brother but never being able to actually talk to him because he’s asleep. He and Hypnos just lay in that hammock cuddled up together, and Mel can tell that clearly they’re extremely special to each other because Hypnos’ first thought was ‘Zag comes with me, he escapes with me’ and they sleep cuddled together, never leaving each others arms.

And somewhere in the dream realm, where they’re able to interact, at first Zagreus is mad because he wanted to stay and protect the house and his family. But then when he realises his baby sister would never get to even see him her whole life if he stayed, and that Hypnos acted on impulse out of love for him, he turns to feeling somehow grateful that he’s in the eternal sleep. Because at least his sister can SEE him. At least he knows his body is safe and when he wakes up he can help Mel. And he has Hypnos. For years when they’re stuck in that sleep together, they can finally take the time to simply be. Just sit in the dreamscape, enjoy life. Process things. Maybe even have some dream kids (Morpheus cough cough).

When they finally do wake up, Zagreus can help his sister take back the house and save their parents. Hypnos can offer a keepsake to help them out too, and eventually bring the kids back and fourth from the dreamscape to the physical world. When all is good again, and the families are all back together, Persephone and Nyx get grandkids out of it as a bonus to the family reunion. Poor Persephone may not have had the chance to raise either of her kids but she can at least help with her grandkids.

the seven (+ nico and reyna) if they were children if minor gods/goddesses

percy - i'm not gonna lie, it was so hard to find a minor god for percy. the best one i found is basically just another god the sea: nereus. he was a son of primordial gods; gaea (sorry for that, percy, omg 😭) and pontus, primordial god of the ocean. anyway, nereus was also a god of wisdom, prophetic visions (so it would kind of make sense for percy to be a 'prophecy child' if his dad was a prophecy god ig), and change. also! nereus valued loyalty (and, if we excuse demigod children lmao, he was loyal to his wife), and loyalty is percy's fatal flaw.

annabeth - themis, the greek goddess of justice, order, and overall fairness (not unlike nemesis), which are all values that i think annabeth holds close to her. themis is also depicted to be extremely wise (and sometimes she's also called a goddess of wisdom), another trait that annabeth believes in.

jason - aiolos, roman god of the wind (the greek version is aeolus). he's also known as the 'keeper of the four winds,' meaning he also controlled storm winds, so jason would likely have similar powers to children of jupiter. also, his name means 'quick-moving.' jason already has powers relating to storms and winds (those are his main powers, other than lightning), and being a son of aiolos would likely just increase his power over wind.

leo - i honestly couldn't find any minor gods that suit leo, but i think pallas, greek god of warcraft/handcrafts (and in some cases - 'useful arts,' which i'm taking to mean machines/mechanics, etc.). pallas is often also related to athena, goddess of wisdom, but i believe he's depicted as more of a 'quick-thinker,' which suits leo a lot.

piper - psyche, greek goddess of the soul; she's described, in mythology, as a mortal-turned-goddess whose beauty rivalled aphrodite's. the goddess represents passions, as well as misfortunes. this means piper could likely still have charmspeak because of psyche's close relation/similarity to aphrodite.

hazel - i feel like this one's sort of obvious; hecate. not only is she goddess of the mist and magic, but also ghosts, so hazel would have similar powers to a child of hades/pluto. hazel is already shown to have powers over the mist, and hecate is often associated with gemstones/crystals, which hazel can also already control.

frank - i really couldn't find many gods for frank, but i think honos, the greek god of honour, works well. he also represents glory, and in some cases, bravery. these are all some of frank's best qualities - ones that he himself actually values a lot too. additionally, honos symbolises victory and achievement, which are more qualities that frank would need for his role as praetor, etc.

nico - ok. so. the best one i could find was erebus; primordial god of shadows and darkness. he's also the god of a particularly dark part of the underworld, so it's likely he'd also have control over ghosts and bones (like nico does). this probably also means children of erebus could shadow-travel. and, although he isn't always perceived as powerful, erebus is. one interesting thing about erebus - even though he is not explicitly evil, his name is often used interchangeably with tartarus (which, if we're talking about experiences with tartarus: this could be an added factor as to why nico went to tartarus so confidently. if he didn't know enough about his father, he might've assumed he could be okay through tartarus.)

reyna - fides, roman goddess of loyalty and trust. fides is said to represent everything 'required for honour and credibility.' throughout the heroes of olympus, it's clear that honour and trust are two things reyna values deeply. it's also said that fides embodies everything needed for soldiers in rome, which, as praetor (for a long time), reyna is to be considered a soldier of new rome. additionally, loyalty and faithfulness are two qualities valued by artemis and her huntresses.

A/N: Hello- , so I found that writing headcanons is wayyyy easier then oneshots (For some reason idk) so I'll probably be writing more Cabin headcanons, and stuff. So yeah, also lmk if you would like a part 2 to this, because I have so much more ideas for apollo stuff. Anyway enjoy!

Every friday they hold karaoke nights

Surprisingly Will always goes up to sing (Mainly because of his nagging siblings)

No matter if you’re a good singer, a meh singer, or a OMG MY EARS ARE DYING singer nobody will judge - that’s just their nature

Since Apollo is god of the sun, all Apollo kids wake up at the crack of dawn

Yes. The moment you can see even the slightest sliver of the sun- all his kids stir and wake up

(Probably not by choice- It just kind of happens.)

On that note, they all probably start to become really exhausted when the sun goes down…

Like sure they can TOTALLY stay up longer, it’s just more draining for them, and they have less energy

(Although there are some rare cases where if the Apollo kids stay near Hecate kids, or Hades kids etc. like gods/goddesses of night- then they’ll be able to stay awake longer.)

Also no matter what time it is, almost always- whenever you go to the archery range, you’ll find an Apollo kid getting all bullseyes.

Most Apollo kids are open to giving out free music lessons

In fact sometimes on the weekends they have this thing called “Note swap” Where they all take their instruments and swap them, teaching everybody a new instrument

(And when it  comes to music- Apollo kids are fast learners.)

On rare occasions, there is an Apollo kid who gets the gift of the plague, however, usually it’s not very strong- and they can only give people minor illnesses

Adding onto that, Apollo kids almost NEVER get sick. Although- when they do…. Be prepared..

Immediately the ENTIRE cabin gets sick, and oh gosh- it’s. The. Worst.

Tissues littering the cabin floor

Everybody with noses as red as rudolphs - irritated from blowing their nose so often

Most times the sickness gets so bad, that the cabin can barely speak- their throats are too incredibly sore to do so.

Usually, when this happens other campers have to volunteer to help out in the infirmary- because Will and the other healers are just too sick.

(When this type of sickness happens it affects everybody except apollo kids with the plague gift)

They just have a constant cold- but it never gets worse than sniffles

Also by some miracle, the sickness always seems to stay contained and inside the Apollo cabin, never infecting a different camper.

The cabin walls are almost always covered in posters with classics, Beatles, Queen, etc.

Although, a cabin favorite is most definitely Taylor Swift.

There is not a time where music is not playing in the cabin, even if it’s just instrumental- they always have something playing.

When they welcome new campers, they always have a kind of initiation to find what they’re best at

Will would show them around the infirmary

Austin would give them some instruments to try-

Kayla would show them archery

Etc. etc.

They would probably have a mini shrine to all the campers that passed away, leaving little offerings of candy and such

(When I say all the campers, I mean apollo campers)’

They would have photos of Micheal, and Lee

Will would probably talk to them once in a while :(

And overall it would just be really sweet

I wanna add to the whole “hades keeping persephone’s things in a drawer” controversy. I watched all her videos the she uploaded patreon and I specifically remember Rachel herself saying that she was VERY aware it was creepy and she would not be okay with this behavior irl. She laughed it off saying that lots of romantic tropes like this would not be okay in real life—but in movies and media they get a pass because they frame it as something endearing. So she IS self aware about the whole thing at least🤷🏻‍♀️

Ugh, that just makes it kinda worse tho tbh LOL Like being self-aware of something being toxic doesn't make that toxic behavior 'okay', especially if you're intentionally romanticizing it or never making the FL in your comic aware of what her now-husband has been doing since day 1, especially in a comic that's trying to be "feminist".

Like I know it's something sold to teenage girls a LOT that it's "romantic" if the guy they "finally" ended up with was holding onto "keepsakes" from them before they dated ("omg, they were in love with me the whole time!") But a lot of people in their 20's and upwards can tell you that it's not so "romantic" when you realize that much of your relationship may have been manufactured or that the guy you're with was essentially stalking you prior to getting with you. It can make the relationship feel far more disingenuous and targeted rather than something that grew organically. Especially when it's really intimate shit that the other party should not have access to like personal letters you wrote in confidence to a friend.

Shit, I know it's not something that's "real life" because it's fantasy, but even Hades going so far as to ask the Fates for a tape of his memories that involved Persephone is a HUGE red flag - they make it VERY clear that you can't just do that, you need consent from the other parties who are involved in that memory, WHICH MAKES TOTAL SENSE, but they give it to him anyways because "aww he's in love and it's his future qween :>"

The irony that LO tries to be progressive with the notion of consent but then stomps on it every time it involves anything that isn't blatant assault. Consent applies to more than just sex. Persephone did not give consent to Hades taking the letter she had sent Hecate, she did not give consent to Hades taking the tape of memories that involved her, and she was never made aware of Hades keeping intimate objects that either belonged to her or were affiliated with her (ex. the mug with her lipstick print).

Like... is this romantic? Really? Because it seems more manipulative than anything else. I know being above the gods and even their own destinies is the nature of the Fates but that's why they typically don't directly involve themselves in the lives of mortals and gods (and in a lot of media that references them, they typically speak in riddles or don't fork over the information plainly) otherwise what would be the point of "fate" to begin with if anyone could walk up to the Fates and be like "hey, tell me something I'm not supposed to know so I can change the path I'm on."

God of War does this better than LO with the Norse equivalent of the Fates, the Norns:

Being self-aware of Hades shitty behavior does not make it okay to romanticize, it doesn't absolve Rachel of writing a toxic romance and selling it as "couple goals". Especially in a comic that claims to be feminist and aware of the importance of consent. If that's the case, Persephone needs to learn the meaning of the word 'no' and Hades needs to learn that he can't have whatever he wants just because he's a King.

it's incredibly funny the first god we encounter is Apollo, because Apollo is the guy people modded into the first game years ago

Hades (2) and FFVII (Remake, Rebirth and CC) crossover, but it’s the FFVII characters in the Hades (2) situation.

Don’t know if this is exactly how the character swaps would go, but here’s my take on it, and those who I don’t know (this is disregarding all ships amongst Hades and ff7 characters):

Ooo I love that idea! I’ll admit I still haven’t quite finished with the first Hades (I know, throw me out of the classics department), so my knowledge of specifics is somewhat limited esp in the Hades 2 realm of things

God I love the idea of Zack as Zagreus sm! I feel like that would work so well with him! I once read a time-travel fix it fic where he was stuck in a time loop of the escape from Shinra Manor to his death trying to get Cloud to safety and it was so heartbreaking, could totally see that kind of vibe there. The sunshine character struggling over and over again relentlessly trying to keep their positivity >>>>>

Despite my constant ramblings comparing Achilles to Genesis, yeah I think him as Angeal works so well in this situation, especially with having Sephiroth as Patroclus. God that hurts my heart to think about actually ahhh 😭

Melinoe I know less about but from what I’ve seen omg yeah I love the idea of her as Cloud! I could also totally see her as Sephiroth though with the whole being trained her entire life to kill thing, and speaking of yeah Chronos as insaneroth or Jenova herself is perfect imo, and as for Hecate idk who she’d be if Melinoe was Cloud but if Sephiroth she could potentially be Vincent in a sort of stole Seph away from Hojo or was charged with his protection by him au

Hades I could easily see as some Shinra director or even the president himself, not sure which one exactly though

in one of hecate's cases, there is a victim who was a ballerina. the crime is not even related to ballet at all, the victim's professional is just a fact that is there – and hecate sees their past self in her for some reason. they can't really put their finger on why, they don't even look alike. maybe it's because the way she was murdered is similar to the way hecate themself died, – but they haven't died, they repeat to themselves, it didn't happen, I never died. maybe it's just the ballet. when they read the autopsy report where all the additional injuries, even not the ones that caused death are described – when their eyes stumble upon a sentence about bruised feet, they visibly cringe.

after they are already work on the case for some time, they can't stop thinking about the victim even after they rest after long days of trials and investigations. they stretch in front of the mirror. they look at their chest, imagining it pierced through. by their murderer or by their mother's betrayal? it doesn't matter, anyway. that child is gone. them as a prosecutor is gone, too. that foolish person frantically running away from their past. they carry a lot of corpses in themselves, don't they?

but... they stare at their legs, that can still stretch widely all across the floor, that bend all the way to their back and can walk with their toes curled in again, if they tried. some skills you're taught as a child are stored in your muscle memory, you don't do them as well as you did anymore, but you carry them with you as a gift or a curse from your distant past. and the memories of grueling workouts, dark evenings and late nights in the training room are still fresh, once you try to reach for them. this person they were is far from dead. even that desire they had.. to be noticed, to be loved, to be worth something... if they try to reach for it deep inside their cold ribs, it's probably still there. it never really leaves once it was embedded in you since your earliest days with icy looks and absence.

what was her mother like? – hecate wonders, pulling out their file on the victim again. they could probably easily find her through their shared last name, if they tried. it's silly, it really is, – but hecate feels like they need to talk. they might have to advocate for the her, that girl. they suddenly actually feel like being a lawyer today.

i started high risk bfl like last week i think? personally weakspot carries me through 2/3 of it so its not too hard but the shackled captive… cant even make it past 60. my magic team suckssss, i got hecate to p3 along with eirene but its just not enough like idk. that one was hard in mid risk areak, now its 3x harder for me. i think depending on how much you were doing you’ll probably do less unfortunately

Constantine demigod kid manage to get around Lamia curse via stubbornness because he will not live without internet and Dad have load of ancient tomes and technomancy, making a magic VPN app for demigods.

It's kinda funny that technology is the bane of demigods because Percy Jackson came out in 2005, and the first iPhone came out in 2007, and so the books are in this weird limbo where the Internet as a portable and constantly accessible/necessary thing is starting to grow but isn't quite there yet and you could still encounter people that don't have a smartphone.

And now we have that key bit of worldbuilding and the terrifying realization that so much of culture and history is happening online or influenced by such. Demigods have no concept of memes, online jokes mean nothing, they're mystified by Twitter and social media. Annabeth has no outlet to write impassioned essays on tumblr because Daedalus' laptop doesn't connect to the internet.

Like, I kinda respect that it hasn't been walked back or retconned yet, but omg very soon it's going to be very easy to out demigods because even elementary/primary school kids are needing the internet for stuff or are being taught computer literacy and these half blood kids are gonna be SOL.

Ironically, I think that the only reason Constantine's demigod child could get around the curse is because they can be taught magic Constantine's way instead of through channeling the power of their mother. Otherwise I don't think that Hecate could allow the favoritism of one child over another by letting them negate Lamia's curse for all demigods, because she couldn't do that for Alabaster, after all.

I'm back again cos I randomly thought of Hecate and I can't stop. She has some sort of attraction and I can't explain it.
