man I REALLY see what everyone was talking about re: wyll's story in the latter game fucking sucks and is a big disappointment. the whole wyrmway bit had no emotional depth? his decision after killing ansur seems kind of random and sudden? the resolution with his father after I rescued him from the iron throne was pretty lackluster too, and also some of duke ravengard's dialogue was as if wyll had made the second deal with mizora, which he hadn't (I think the fact that he chose to be blade of avernus triggers the dialogue for that, but. he can choose to be blade of avernus after rejecting mizora's deal.)

like, especially in contrast to really emotionally rich and intense storylines like astarion's and karlach's, it's like. come on.

#and like even just with the material already there they could've done so much more with it #like his whole choice about whether to accept or reject mizora's deal for his father's life is compelling #and I think they COULD have done something interesting with regards to whether he was going to follow in his father's footsteps #or embrace the life that he originally chose out of necessity after his father rejected him #like either choice ought to have a lot of complex emotional baggage because of his history with his father and the way his life has gone #and it's just....not touched on at all #and the kind of weight and scope of his father's actions is just never dealt with #there's a brief conversation and wyll's dad is like 'oh whoops my bad you're great after all son' and that's IT like are you kidding me #and wyll's just like 'cool. misunderstanding resolved my amazing dad likes me again' like?????#he kicked you out at 17 and you were on your own ever since!! come on!!#like the meaty emotional stuff is RIGHT there and they just left it lying on the table #scribblingface plays bg3
