I headcanon that Darius likes cute things considering how his unique abominations - the little one, the big any sport one and the dou models - are cutesy/slightly goofy looking compared to most of the other abominations we see.

(and from meta perspective his abominations could have easily had more 'elegant' or serious looking designs)
