MLC: Sarah and Eugene
[Western Dragon Boyfriend]
“Oh for the love of a- Eugene!”
Fifth time this week, a wall of miscellaneous items almost crashing down on the young girl. All randomized junk from stuffed animals, plastic fast food toys, old rugs and so on. These weren’t even normal things for dragons to collect! She’d understand if they were like priceless items like artwork stuff but not random things.
The worst part of all this is when she tried to throw them away he’d throw such a hissy fit, not a toddler one but the kind where he’d get really weepy and cry…an that was something Sarah avoided. When he started crying he always had to hug her like a teddy bear until he was done, or she give in and not touch his things. But it was starting to get out of hand and their apartment was going to run out of space very, very soon.
She turned around, already she saw the dragon in question peeking just around the corner….he looked like a puppy who got caught piddling on the rug. Oh she was ready to tear a new one, the pile almost fell right on top of her, she could’ve gotten hurt!
She was already to yell….but instead stopped, pinched the bridge of her nose and gave a heavy sigh. No, yelling never solved anything and…she just couldn’t do that to Eugene no matter how bad he messed up. She needed to handle this with a calm mind.
“Help me clean this up please…” she sighed, in all honesty she wanted to cry…she was just so tired of this…
The constant fear of being crushed under an avalanche of junk, the back and forth arguing and then some…not to mention their apartment would soon run out of space for them both to live comfortably. She knelt down and started picking up a few of the things, Eugene knelt beside her and helped….she looked an already saw the tears forming.
“I’m sorry….I’m so sorry love, I know you don’t like this and I’ve been selfish but..I can’t throw this stuff away, I don’t know how to explain it in a way anyone can understand…”
He wasn’t lying, she knew if he was lying. This big boy as so bad at lying, it was so bad no one tells him if there was a surprise party cause he’d couldn’t keep the secret.
“I know hon, listen…I get its your nature to collect and protect your treasures, I just don’t see how any of these things are ‘treasures’ to be honest.”
Ooh…maybe she should’ve held back on that, now he looked like a kicked puppy…well no going back now, time to spring the question.
“Eugene, I think we ‘both’ need to work on this. I want to know what makes these things so special but you have trouble telling me. So I’ve been thinking…what if we went to see that Dr. Fortune we heard about on the TV?”
There was a long pause…flicking his long tail from side to side like a cat sometimes helped him think. He didn’t like airing out his problems to strangers but…an this was getting a bit out of hand. What if Sarah got hurt next time…he could never forgive himself if that happened.
“An….we’ll do it ‘together’ right?” Whimpered Eugene, he drooped his head down to look her this time directly….oh his heart jumped when she gave him a smile.
“Of course, we’ll do it together. In fact how about we make the appointment together after we clean this up. Sound good?”
This time was his turn to smile, oh it wasn’t fair for a smile to be that adorable! After giving a peck on the cheek to each other they proceeded to push the wall of junk back into the closet, they’d deal with it later.
[one week later]
Sarah had to admit, she never expected a doctors office to be so…huge or well furnished, especially for Eugene’s standards. When they made the call the doctor made a rather…odd request. They had to bring five items of Eugene’s choice to the first meeting, apparently to help understand his reasonings.
So after going through the ‘avalanche’ again, Eugene gathered five items. Each one he cradled to his chest as if it was made of delicate glass, odd sine they were made of plastic. Dr. Fortune sat across from them with a clipboard in hand, twirling a pen the other before turning to smile at them.
“Well, lets get started. Eugene, did you bring five things from your collection?”
With a nod, Eugene pulled out the items in question. One bobble head fairy, one kitty keychain, a little fast food toy car, a pendant from some costume jewelry and lastly a tiny princess figurine. Sarah blinked, they were odd little things to keep.
“Eugene, these are very precious to you right?” Asked Fortune.
“Yes…very much so.”
Fortune picked up the princess figurine “An out of all of them…this one is the most precious of them all cause its tied to Sarah.”
Sarah snapped her gaze directly on the doctor, they held the little figure flat in their palm. For a moment Sarah dismissed it as some random piece of Eugene’s collection..although she had a feeling she seen that little figure before but couldn’t’ quite place ware…an why was it connected to her. She watched as Eugene reached and plucked it from the doctors hand…he was smiling so innocently like he was holding a newborn kitten.
“I…bought this at the shop Sarah worked at when we first met, it was a souvenir shop at a renaissance themed park…”
Sarah’s eyes almost popped out of her socket when she heard that….now she remembered! Eugene coming in looking both annoyed and frantic, how she barricaded the door to keep the growing crowd of entitled brats out…an how he timidly asked to buy the little princess figurine….
“An all these other things are from dates you went on with Sarah, so your treasure is keepsakes from your time spent with your darling, correct?”
Eugene nodded, he clutched the princess figurine in his massive claws…shivering a little bit.
“Its normal for dragons to collect treasures but you can’t just collect every little thing she touches on your dates, but I do have a solution that may help with his hoarding.” The doctor smiled and took out their phone.
“For starters, pictures are wonderful keepsakes that won’t take up space in your house just your phone…unless you got the ‘cloud’ an a lot of memory on it. An if you want something to put in your room that really means something then sure keep it, but be aware that you two must live together an if these items get out of hand then you’ll need to throw them out or find a new space thats out of the way.”
From Eugene the doctor turned to Sarah.
“As for you, understand a dragon’s treasure is really precious to him and he’ll fight tooth and claw to protect it. However dragons also can be sensitive, so if it does get out of hand please try not to yell or guilt them into throwing some of it away. Be gentle in your approach and if so maybe work with them on finding a space that they can keep their treasures in.”
The two looked at each other…an back at the items at hand..
“It doesn’t have to be right away, take your time in how you tackle this problem. But remember…take it slow, if you rush things it’ll only cause problems. Start out with little things before moving to big ones.”
With that said the session ended, they thanked the doctor and left the office. The ride home was quiet to say the least, both digesting the advice the doctor gave them. When they came home..they found the ‘avalanche’ was still there…still the large pile of things from date nights or outings….
Sarah went to use the bathroom but…when she came back she found the entire ‘avalanche’ was gone. Eugene tying up a black trash-bag and setting it by the door. A big smile on his face, on the counter were some small items she recognized from trips they took.
“Um…honey, you don’t have to throw them all away, you can look through them and-“
She was cut off by his claw so gently pressing against her lips.
“I know…but to be honest…I’ve got what I wanted, I went through them and…I don’t remember half of the items in these piles. Some didn’t spark any memories, but the ones that did I’ve kept and I took a picture of the pile already. So I can safely say these can get thrown away.” He gave a big grin and held up his phone, a picture of the mess in his collection.
She then watch as he put some of the treasures he kept on the mantle in the living room…the princess figurine in the center. Sarah smiled…then ran quickly to her room, Eugene watched..his head cocked to the side a bit. She came jogging back holding something, gently she placed it next to the princess figurine. It was a special in incense burner designed as a castle with a dragon on top, when a incense cone burned in it the smoke traveled up and out the dragons nose and mouth.
“When did you get that?” Asked Eugene.
“…I got this after you left the shop that day.”
Eugene turned to her, eyes wide…
Sarah continued. “I thought it was so cute how you purchased that little figurine, so much in fact I ended up buying this at another shop at the fairgrounds….to be honest I didn’t know if I was ever gonna see you again so I bought it to never forget that day. How funny it was to see you come in the next day…browse the shop and ask me to give you a tour of the fairgrounds…”
He couldn’t argue with her there…the two looked up at the mantel, the princess figurine and the dragon statue. Standing side by side…almost like they were meant to be.

What are Backflow Incense Cones?
Cone-shaped backflow incense cones that emit incense smoke in the opposite direction, that is, downwards, from a normal cone, is known as a Backflow Incense Cone. This is mainly because of the small hollow tunnel that goes through the center of the cone and ends with a hole at the bottom of the cone.
What are Backflow Incense Cones and how does it work?
The incense cones create backflow smoke by using an incense burner. It’s called “backflow” because the smoke goes down instead of up like regular smoke.
Backflow burners use a simple natural phenomenon. No tricks are required to create the effect; all you need is a special incense cone with a small hole in the bottom. The waterfall is created using these backflow cones and a special burner design.
We all know that burning incense releases warm air. Normally, the heat generated when we burn incense releases smoke and the difference in atmospheric pressure between the surrounding air and smoke (warm air) rises and carries the smoke.
Because the backflow cone is hollow, the cold air inside the burner also reaches the smoke. This cool air draws smoke through the burner holes, creating a waterfall effect.
Range of Backflow available at
Megha Aromatics
How to use Backflow incense cones?
To light a backflow cone, make sure you have everything you need before starting work. You will need:
Lighters: All lighters will work, but we recommend using lighters with a longer neck, such as a grill or fireplace lighter, that are easy to use and keep your hands away from open flames. Backflow Incense Cone: Very Simple! Backflow incense cones come in most traditional flavors, so choose your favorite. Backflow Incense Stand: To get the full effect of backflow incense, you need an incense holder specially designed for backflow incense. Several beautiful holders let the smoke effect falls wonderfully onto multiple paths. Check out our interesting options available at meghaincenses.com.
How to smoke/light backflow incense cones?
Place the incense waterfall in a free area above the fire-dish.
Keep tongs and a glass of water nearby.
Grasp the backflow cone and tilt it slightly.
Lighten the top of the cone.
Wait until it starts burning properly.
Turn off the light/fire.
Put the cone on the backflow stand.
Watch the smoke as soon as the hollow part starts to burn.
If you have to turn off the fire until the cone is completely burnt out?
Then use tongs to place the cone in the water.
Is the cone completely burned out?
Wet the ashes until the ashes come out completely.
Top 5 benefits of using Backflow Incense Cones
Meditative incense waterfall
Using a backflow incense burner creates calm, swirling smoke. It has a very soothing effect on many people, so it is not surprising that waterfall burners are often used for meditation. An example of using a backflow burner is simply viewing smoke as an intensive exercise. You can also light incense and close your eyes to visualize the waterfall in the meditation space.
Dehumidifier
Do you know that a good incense burner also acts as a humidifier? It’s rarely potent or effective, but it can get rid of bacteria, pollen, and other particles in the room. You can also use a backflow burner to remove odors in your area. Consider incense cone lights with a floral motif.
Aromatherapy
Light an aroma cone and place it on a burner to actively participate in aromatherapy. The incense burners are made of heat-resisting materials like ceramics, for safety reasons. You can also use a backflow burner while doing your pedicure or going to bed.
Aesthetic Interior
The flowing waterfall effect makes these burners and aroma cones easy to maintain. Smoke creates a sea of smoke along the burner’s aesthetic path. This aspect adds beauty to your burner and can be a great decoration for your work area, bedroom, or living room.
The scent lasts for a long time!
Most incense sticks and cones don’t last more than 25-30 minutes, but the scent they provide lasts longer with backflow burners. The way the smoke enters the room is different as it thickens and it flows downwards. You can create a long-lasting fragrance. Different scents and smells have many different benefits. These scents affect the body and mind in a variety of ways. But on the surface, all it seems is that this scent gives positive energy and gets rid of the negative, stimulating brain cells and making them work more actively.
The backflow incense cones made by Megha Aromatics are an ancient blessing wrapped in a modern shell. It will purify your mind, body, and soul. So why not bring these magical cones home and surprise your family!

I found my incense burner (it's shaped like a house so the smoke comes out the little chimney ✨) and I was wondering why I hadn't used it for nearly a year until I lit a cone. It smells fishy and sickening and in the long term incense smoke is bad for you and can stain walls and carpets 🙃 I've opened a window but I might actually go and put my bins out just to get some fresh air. It is fun watching smoke curl out of the chimney though ☺️ almost worth not being able to breathe comfortably...

TALK ABOUT LAMPS MORE OAK
Lamps are SO GOOD. Have you ever gone to Disneyland? They have floor lamps and I love them. The lamps in my house are not very cool. I hate my ceiling lamp bc the way the lamp shade stays on is weird and makes me anxious that is gonna fall off and shatter and I know it can happen bc my mom has the same lamp and it happened to her plus it makes my light look really yellow which is bad for choosing colors. I could just take off my lamp shade but then I would look directly at the light plus where do you even put a giant glass lamp shade so I just leave it up there. I wish it was at least a better shape. Those lantern shaped lamps are very good shapes. They are my favorite. Have you seen a real lantern with a candle? I have it's So cool the Best lamp ever. I have a little hand held candle holder and I love it with all my heart bc when I put candles in it it's so cool it's like my own personal lamp that I carry around with me and I love having it lit it's so nice. I love looking at the flames in fire it's so memorizing have you ever roasted mini marshmallows on toothpicks over a candle flames it's the best me and my sister did it all the time. The smoke is the second best part (after the fire) bc it looks so nice and mesmerizing. I have an incense burner and the smoke is so visible and you can feel it when you touch it and it goes in such interesting shapes and they way it disperses around your hand is so nice to look at. That's why I love camp fires so much. Especially when it's almost gone and all that's left is the burning embers and everytime you smack the fire the embers glow again the smoke comes heavier and it blows in the wind and you can see it really well at night it's so nice. I got sidetracked talking about fire. Fire is distantly related to lamps bit just as good. One time in went into ikea and we had already gotten everything we need but we had nothing to do for the rest of the day and my mother turned to me and said "want to walk through the lamp displays?" And let me tell you it was Magical. I took so many pictures there were So many lamps I'm sure if I stopped back far enough in my dms I could find all the pictures I sent I literally sent like 100 pictures of lamps there were so many. They had little rooms with thematically appropriate lamps plus just walls of lamps. It was so bright and there were so many cool lamps. There were little shaped table lamps for kids made out of plastic and there were modern-ish lamps with boring shapes that we just like cones with a light on the open end. But then the unique modern lamps,, they were so nice. There was one lamp where the lamp shade was like one of the crinkly sphere things that you make out of tissue paper and hang on the ceiling as decoration and it was So cool. And there was another one where it was like a bunch of rectangles in varying sizes coming from one spot except it was a Lamp. And then there were some of the ones you see in diners all the time with the sort of oval shaped lamp and there very good lamps but the best diner lamp I've ever seen was in this restaurant in California and they had these beautiful read brown and green speckled diner lamps that made the restaurant so homey (plus they had lantern shaped lamps there too making the experience 10/10). Speaking of diner lamps, have you ever been to like a waffle house that's like out of the way and still has a jukebox and old music and you and maybe one other family are the only ones there? No? Well, I have, and what really makes the experience memorable was the lighting. They had basic ceiling lamps - rectangles set on the same level as the ceiling, with several bulbs in each one - and they were pretty shitty. There was at least on bulb out in each one some were out completely and they were dirty and weirdly spaced. But it made the lighting so unique and florescent and really made the experience more,,, eerie, I guess. The city type of eerie. I've rambled enough. If you want more lamps(and fire) send another ask.

Incense and Smudging~ A Millennia of Smoke
Read this on THEBONEGENERATION website.
One the few most important things I consider when practicing or living the craft is simply, ” Is my space secure and clean?” Incense and Smudging have been used for thousands of years for all kinds of gatherings, rituals, prayer, and in our case, spells!
What is Incense?
In the most basic of terms, incense is a material gathered in small quantities to burn. The place in which you burn from is most commonly a fixed spot and in most cases: cannot be moved. Different forms of incense include: stick incense, packed cone and other shapes, raw(Sap, splintered wood, & loose leaf) and fine ground (granule).
Stick incense can be put in an incense holder to catch the falling ash, as well as a simple container full of sand. It can be very cheap and easy to maintain if set up correctly. If you are looking to try out incense, Dollar stores and Walmart have a few very cheap scents you can choose from. You can also support online or local artists by buying their handmade products. I find the hand made version to have more care put into the product, leaving the incense smell less invasive and strong.
All others like loose leaf, splintered wood, granules, and cone incense must be put within an incense pot. These types need charcoal, which is heated by a candle, match or lighter from underneath (Sloped side) until sparks being to appear. Sometimes a hanging burner can be a good alternative to an immobile burner. It is best to hold the charcoal with a small pair of tongs to keep your fingers clear of any potential burns.
Note: Do not worry about the sparks. Settle it inside an incense burner on a heat proof surface to drop the chosen incense within. The groove of the charcoal should be facing upward for the incense to settle and burn.
Disclaimer: Hot coal can cause fires and burn you, so please use caution when using the tool! Here is a great way to handle the charcoal effectively without causing harm to yourself and others. Use tongs to handle the charcoal. The longer your burn the disk, the more likely it will break apart with used ash. Please take great care when using incense tools! Always keep a window open so as to not set off a smoke alarm. Burning often can cause some respiratory distress so it is best to burn on occasion.
Until recently, I didn’t know I was burning the incense at too high a temperature directly on the charcoal disk. It is common for the incense to burn quickly since the incense in sitting directly on the charcoal. You can find many different ways to burn it, but the best way I found would be if you bury a hot coal within a mound of rice ash in a heat proof container, (Glass, ceramic, etc.) It allows the bowl to not become too hot. You can lay the incense just on top of the ash, (With the coal covered) it will burn steadily, and won’t waste the incense, leaving the scent as it was intended. I have also found that you can burn the disk on rock salt in a heatproof container.
The smoke is aromatic, creating a smell that is pleasant, and can help change a mood or state of mind. Different materials that can be used as incense are: herbs, wood, resins /tree sap, and some minerals; These materials are dried, ground and burned. Even if you burn different kinds of wood, there are distinct differences in their scent as it wafts up to the sky. These scents are hand crafted to invoke different burning experiences.
Be Careful: Some woods and other natural items can be toxic/dangerous when burned. For Example, Green woods(Not dried yet), Soft wood like Pine (Full of sap, which can explode when burned),Driftwood (Full of Salt), Poison ivy, Sumac, & Oak (Poison being the indicator here, is never is a good idea to burn), Mexican Elder (Natural source of Cyanide), Oleander, etc are examples of things to steer clear of. Always double-check and make sure the natural plants you are burning are not toxic (Whether burned or not, the plant could still be poisonous!) Finally, do not burn anything that is considered a struggling species. This means that if it is endangered, definitely do not cut/gather it, let-alone burn it.
What is Smudging?
Unlike Incense, Smudging is mobile and the matter you burn is whole bundle. -Instead of grinding material into a fine powder or grains, you can gather aromatic herbs (Such as Lavender, Sage, and Cedar) to be bound tightly and left to dry. This allows the bundle to burn evenly for a smudging ceremony or a simple clearing of your space. You can burn the whole things but I like to use the bundles in sections. Smudging is most well-known to be practiced and passed down by the Native North American and South American tribes. Palo Santo is an aromatic wood that is used to cleanse as well as the traditional bundle of herbs. Sweet Grass is braided long, increasing it to a longer life of smudging.
Note: Incense and Smudging can be synonymous, however we must remember that Incense is usually never moved, whereas Smudging is carried by the hand to envelop smoke around an object, place, or person for cleanse and clearing of negative energy.
Origins:
Incense has been dated back to roughly 3000 BCE and has been seen around the globe in many different forms. The further back we look, the less documentation for use of incense has been confirmed. The Babylonians (Deeply centered within Central South Asia and Middle East stretching to the Northern parts of Africa) have been rumored to be the first to create Incense and with time it spread to the Romans and Greeks. Many cultures followed with this knowledge such as: Arabian, Chinese, Indian, Jerusalemite, Tibetan, Japanese, Egyptian, North American, and South Americans.
The use for incense was almost always for the very same reason: To chase off any uninvited and malevolent spirits from the sacred space. This isn’t to say that the well-meaning and benevolent were chased off too. They are generally well in co-habitation with this form of cleansing. This is what I like to call Separation.
It is still uncertain as to whether or not the Smudging and Incense clears of all spirit activity, but it is in my experience that the well-meaning spirits don’t mind leaving on their own, and therefore don’t need to be cleared. This means they can stay despite your removing what energies you don’t want in your home.
(I will be creating an article specifically about different kinds of spirit activity and how to manage the different energies surrounding you further along…)
~
Sage is considered the most common form of Smudge bundling but this form of smudging is quickly creating an endangerment of the Wild White Sage plant. And so I must urge my readers to consider an alternative and to remember to be respectful to the plants you harvest from. So if you can, replant what you take!
If you are foraging for your herbs, Always use the 1/15 rule which states: Take one for every 15 you see. This can apply to leaves, branches, flowers etc. It is better to spread out your harvest so as to not hurt a singular plant beyond repair. Also, be sure to avoid trails for it hurts the view for other hikers that want to enjoy nature as much as you do.
You could leave the path as long as you are dressed appropriately so you may not come in contact with any potential abrasive, poisonous plants/snakes/insects/spiders,or aggressive animals. Remember where you are wandering from and do not let yourself get lost! This is a common issue for those who want to forage; So please be mindful of where you are at all times.
I do not suggest foraging within a national park, or area owned by the government. Find a place like your backyard, a friend’s place or befriend someone to let you discover what lies on their land. -It can be difficult, but it is well worth it. If you don’t live on the land you are planning to forage, always ask for permission!
Important Note: Make sure you know exactly which plant you are harvesting. Many plants can look similar to each other but can be harmful from the tame version you are looking for. Never ingest plant matter like berries etc. without a professional or proper identification.
How can I balance my work as a witch to give back to the earth?
What a wonderful question! I always encourage bringing a bag of some sort to gather trash if any is present to show respect for the earth you take from. If you are in an area that is on your own land, you can always plant seeds as a thank you. If it is your own Garden: seeds, water, or shiny stones/glass is a fantastic offering to your preferred gods, goddesses, fae-kind, etc. Please be aware of what you leave as a thank you, and be sure to pick it up later if you are unsure if it will hurt the environment.

Backflow Incense Burners
OK, She-Ra: Princess of Power, I will get you a cascading waterfall of burning incense for Valentine's Day if you promise not to use the thing as a cauldron and Double, double toil and trouble a hex on me when you find I opted out of putting an engagement ring in it. Come on. Unwrapping one out of two heavily dropped gift hints isn't so bad!
Backflow incense burners are ceramic designs that hold an incense cone (rather than a stick) at their peak. When lit the cones release smoke that kind of billows and hovers along burner channels or near its output point. The effect can be dreamy as a fountain, mysterious as a castle tower in the mist, eerie as a ominous wizard, or comforting as a pot of tea. Here's a quick video of the featured fountain's lolling smoke.
At printing, backflow incense burners were available in a variety of styles and from a few different sellers on Amazon. The price is right on all of them, but burner quality may be questionable. If you think your Valentine merits a higher end rolling river of smoke, check out this extensive collection from Buddha Trends.

What are Backflow Cones and How it will Work?
In our last blog, we reviewed a brand new kind of incense, specifically cones. In this post, we'll look at a different kind of cones for incense - Backflow cones. As the name implies they are cone-shaped incense that emits smoke from the opposite direction to that of a normal cone, i.e. in the direction downwards. This is mostly because of its tiny and hollow tunnel which runs through its middle and eventually forms a hole in the top in the bottom of the cone.
How do they function?
Incense smoke tends to be more dense than air because it is made up of tiny particles of smoke. When a burning incense cone smoke rises in the upward direction because the hot atmosphere is lighter than room temperature air. Smoke travels through the hollow tunnel using backflow cones, and it cools when it travels along the hollow pathway. As it cools it gets denser and escapes at the lower part of the cone in the direction downwards.
How do I make them light?
Place the cone with the backflow either in your hands or use some tweezers.
The pointed end of the cone using the help of a matchstick or lighter. Be sure the incense cone is completely submerged in the flame for a few seconds before it begins to burn within its tiny flame.
Simply blow the flame out just like you would with birthday candles.
After exhausting the flame, and then the remaining flame make sure you look at the cone's bottom.
If you notice the ember's flame glowing and the smoke cloud that is coming out of the bottom of the cone, then your incense cone is correctly burned.
Give it a few minutes or until the smoke begins to be released from the cone's bottom. If you do not see glowing embers or smoke, you might have accidentally blown out the cone. You might be required to light the cone once more.
After the flame is lit correctly, place the cone that backflows into the incense holders. Make sure that the hole in the bottom is properly aligned against the seat holes of the incense holder. If it isn't then the incense vapor could be blocked, ruining the experience totally.
Once it is fully ignited, it can be difficult to get rid of the backflow cone and it can't be used in the future. The best method of taking off a backflow cone is to place it in one cup of water.
Words of Caution!
Here are some things you should be aware of when handling items that are flammable, such as incense cones.
Always put your incense upon a heat-resistant, non-flammable surface.
Make sure they are out of the reach of pets and children. Also, do not leave them alone.
Don't touch the ashes after the incense has been taken out. This is the same for the burner.
Please leave us an email below with any inquiries or questions regarding the purchase of wholesale incense cones.
