Fuck can you imagine the new internal list Tim has and how he compares it to Jason's from time to time. Half of them are grunts the other half is types of silence.

Low one syllable grunt- acknowledgement

Higher one syllable grunt- mild praise

Quick breath followed by nothing- stop talking. Now.

Low long hrm- he's not listening, he's faking. Won't notice you leave.

Low short hrm followed by nothing- he is listening, will notice something off. Prepare to lie.

Silence followed by barely there growl- did something that reminded him of Jason. Stop. Immediately.

Low growl- Don't question the methodology. Go behind his back later.

Grinding of teeth- Stop him from doing whatever he's planning immediately.

A quick guide to translating Bruce’s grunting (by Jason):

Singular grunt = hello/good morning/general acknowledgement of your existence 

Low, soft grunt = thinking/doing math mentally/too busy to acknowledge whatever you just said

Snort = I find whatever you just said amusing but I’m too manly to laugh

Grumpy morning grunt (generally made at doorway of kitchen) = I need coffee

Quiet hmm noise = someone messed up and this benefits me

Slightly louder hmm noise = I messed up and this definitely does not benefit me

Sharp exhale through nose = I’m injured but trying to hide it

Soft, extended exhale through nose = why do I have kids again
