I think you might be misinterpreting the poll option a little! That same option says in it’s entirety “Keep them around, but don’t put any energy in. Let them cut themselves out.” I interpret more as a “I’m done putting energy into this person but if they really do want me in their life, they’ll return some energy to me. If they don’t, then they’re effectively cutting themselves out of my life for me already.”

#asked and answered #anon #its like a situation where youre always rhe one making plans and such #and the other person never matches your energy #at some point? you stop putting in the effort to make plans for the both of you #because they dont match your energy #and at that point either A. they pick up the slack and start making plans too because they do care #or B. no plans ever get made and theyre effecticely cutting themselves out by not putting in any effort #so to me at least its not a respect or wasted energy thing !#i intrepret more as a positive self worth thinf #you’re saying ‘I am worth effort to keep in your life. if you do not put in any effort to keep me in your life #i wont be in your life.’ simple as that
