i was just complaining about americans being insane about cheating and the tags on that priest tiktok post are like exhibit A. people talking about how she deserves it and just shouldn’t have cheated and so on. people will recognize that the institution of marriage is oppressive in all these ways but they’ll still call for saudi-style punishment for adultery

#cheating is at worst an asshole move #can it be worth a breakup/divorce over? sure!#but americans will think cheaters equivalent to child molesters and neo-nazis and never question it #(which has to be a very common confession that they receive)#my guess is 1. the whole thing is made up. the cheating the priest all of it #or 2. thats not how her husband learned it but the real explanation is worse and doesnt let her play the victim as much
