“i know. i mean, i wouldn’t consider it as a lie…” inha swallowed his urge to sigh, head rolling back against the backrest of the leather couch. would it be considered as dishonesty if the topic of the matter had not been mentioned in the first place? when did he even make such promise anyways? fidgeting with his fingers, hoping that she’d just let go of the topic, he took a side glance at the female through his lashes. she was just as he had remembered her as, the fashion editor of vogue in japan—in his views, just another uptight business woman. he nudged out his lower lip. of course, there was a reasoning behind her words. anyone would be alarmed, seeing their model smoking in their waiting room, windows wide open. he should have known better, but being away from home made him feel stressed. partly, it was his father’s fault for sending him away all the way to work in japan. at least, that’s what he thought. sitting back up right, he held up his index finger. “can you just let this one go, just this one time? please?”

the part elf gave him a suspicious look. she was trying hard to keep her serious face and not simply laugh. she had certainly managed to fool him successfully. which was very surprising given that her ability to act wasn’t something she was famous for. listening to his excuse and then his attempt to make her comply with his habit and not judge him any further she remained immobilized just like her facial expression. staring at the other and slowly relaxing the muscles of her face she ended up smiling widely. “gotcha!” she laughing taking out of her bag a pack of cigarettes. “i’m joking! relax. i won’t ask for your head on a plate. i’m no salome.” she took a seat on the couch and taking the long cigarette out of her package she attached it to the end of her new semi-long filter which was half the length of the one audrey hepburn used in some of her movies. “however , there is no need to have all these windows open. this room ..” she pointed at the ventilation. “is designed as a smoking area.” said the editor as she lit her cigarette inhaling the smoke and exhaling it in the form of circles.

         ( ❥ ) “what do you mean?” a frown fell upon his boyish features, though, the small curves at the ends of his pouted lips indicated that he was not at all serious. well, in a sense, the demigod was—just that he knew that his identity were meant to be partly hidden, especially the fact about his mother. yet, it didn’t stop him from telling the others from time to time, whenever he felt the need to remind himself that he indeed do have a mother, in a jokingly manner as not to cause any trouble. "don’t you believe me? what if i really am a son of aphrodite?”

To hear this was something absolutely impossible to Joohyun. While she did pick up an interest for mythology in the past, finding herself fascinated with them, she didn’t really go as far as believing in them. To her, they were just as is: a myth. “Ah, I get you.” Equally, her tony and expression were just as playful and joking, just to match his. “Maybe you mean son of an Aphrodite, not the Aphrodite. huh?” It did make sense in her head.
