Note
What was your starting weight? Also, what are some good tips for a twink to gain weight? you look great.
Started at 75kg/165lbs when I was 18. Now sitting at 98kg/216lbs.
I don’t think there’s one straightforward way to gain. It’s a bit of trail and error to see what works best for you.
For me mass gainer shakes did the trick. Not a big fan of custom gainer shakes since I don’t have the ingredients most of the time and too lazy to make them😅
Using milk and the mass gainer powder (optimum nutrition) made me gain fast and steady when I kept that up. I do drink 2 a day though.

Best BCAA and Mass Gainer: Essential Supplements for Muscle Growth and Recovery
When it comes to building muscle, proper nutrition and supplementation play an essential role. Two of the most popular supplements in the fitness world are BCAAs (Branched-Chain Amino Acids) and mass gainers. Both products can help you reach your fitness goals faster, but they serve different purposes. Let’s dive into the benefits of each and which options are considered the best on the market.
What Are BCAAs?
BCAAs are a group of three essential amino acids — leucine, isoleucine, and valine — that your body cannot produce on its own, meaning they must be obtained through your diet or supplementation. They are particularly known for their role in muscle recovery and growth.
Leucine: The most anabolic (muscle-building) of the three, responsible for triggering muscle protein synthesis.
Isoleucine: Helps with energy production during exercise and promotes muscle recovery.
Valine: Supports muscle metabolism and helps reduce muscle breakdown.
Benefits of BCAA Supplements
Muscle Recovery: BCAAs can help reduce muscle soreness after intense workouts, speeding up recovery and enabling you to train harder and more frequently.
Prevent Muscle Breakdown: BCAAs help to prevent muscle tissue breakdown during workouts, especially during intense, prolonged sessions or caloric deficits.
Improved Exercise Performance: They may enhance endurance, reduce fatigue, and provide energy during training, especially during long or high-intensity workouts.
Fat Loss: Some studies suggest BCAAs can support fat loss by preserving lean muscle mass, especially in individuals who are on a calorie deficit.
Best BCAA Supplements on the Market
Transparent Labs BCAA: Known for its clean ingredients and transparency in product labeling, Transparent Labs offers a potent 2:1:1 ratio of leucine to isoleucine and valine.
Xtend BCAA: A highly popular and affordable option that contains additional electrolytes for hydration, ideal for intense workouts or endurance athletes.
Bulk Natural BCAA: A great natural BCAA option with no artificial sweeteners or flavors, designed for those who prefer a cleaner supplement.
Kaged Muscle BCAA: A high-quality, fermented BCAA option that’s vegan-friendly and has no artificial additives.
What Is a Mass Gainer?
A mass gainer is a high-calorie supplement designed to help people gain weight, specifically muscle mass, when it’s difficult to consume enough calories through whole foods alone. They are often packed with protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, and minerals, providing the extra calories and nutrients needed for muscle growth.
Mass gainers are typically used by individuals who are looking to bulk up, such as bodybuilders, athletes, or those with fast metabolisms who struggle to consume enough calories in their regular diet.
Benefits of Mass Gainers
Supports Weight Gain: Mass gainers are calorie-dense, which helps individuals who have a hard time consuming enough calories for muscle growth.
Helps Build Muscle: The combination of protein and carbohydrates helps provide the building blocks for muscle tissue repair and recovery.
Convenient: Mass gainers are easy to consume and can be an excellent alternative for those who struggle to eat larger meals throughout the day.
Enhances Recovery: The fast-digesting carbohydrates in mass gainers can help replenish glycogen stores post-workout and aid in muscle recovery.
Best Mass Gainers on the Market
Serious Mass by Optimum Nutrition: One of the most popular mass gainers, it provides 1,250 calories per serving with 50 grams of protein and 254 grams of carbohydrates.
BSN True Mass: A well-rounded mass gainer with 700 calories per serving and a 2:1 ratio of carbs to protein, making it ideal for steady weight gain.
Bulk Natural Pure Whey Isolate: While primarily a whey protein isolate, this product can be paired with other carbs or healthy fats to create a customizable mass gainer.
MuscleMeds Carnivor Mass: Known for its high protein content derived from beef protein isolate, it’s perfect for those looking for an alternative to traditional whey-based gainers.
Should You Take BCAAs and a Mass Gainer Together?
Yes, BCAAs and mass gainers can complement each other well, but they serve different purposes:
BCAAs: Use BCAAs primarily around workouts to improve performance and support muscle recovery. They’ll help you maintain muscle mass, especially during periods of intense exercise.
Mass Gainer: Use a mass gainer to help you meet your caloric intake goals, especially if you’re struggling to gain weight or bulk up. It’s a great option between meals or as a post-workout shake.
If you’re trying to bulk up and build muscle, combining the two can provide the extra protein, calories, and amino acids your body needs for growth and recovery.
Conclusion
Both BCAAs and mass gainers are fantastic supplements for anyone looking to increase muscle mass and improve their workout performance. BCAAs focus on supporting muscle recovery and reducing breakdown, while mass gainers offer the calories and nutrients needed to fuel growth. Choosing the best products depends on your individual fitness goals and needs.
For optimal results, consider combining both, using BCAAs for workout recovery and a mass gainer to help fuel muscle growth. Always remember to pair supplements with a balanced diet and a consistent training routine to maximize your results.

The Best Optimum Nutrition Supplements for Building Muscle
Achieving muscle growth requires dedication, a proper training regimen, and the right nutritional support. For individuals seeking to maximize their results, optimum nutrition plays a pivotal role. High-quality supplements can help bridge dietary gaps and provide the body with essential nutrients for building lean muscle mass. This article explores the best supplements designed to support optimum nutrition for muscle growth, highlighting their benefits and how they can be effectively integrated into a fitness routine.
Why Optimum Nutrition Matters for Building Muscle
Muscle growth occurs when the body undergoes a process of repair and rebuilding after intense exercise. To support this process, the body requires an adequate supply of macronutrients and micronutrients. Optimum nutrition ensures that these nutritional demands are met, enabling individuals to achieve their fitness goals more efficiently.
Key components of optimum nutrition for muscle building include:
Protein: Essential for muscle repair and growth.
Carbohydrates: Provide energy for workouts and replenish glycogen stores.
Healthy Fats: Support hormone production and overall health.
Vitamins and Minerals: Aid in recovery, reduce fatigue, and enhance performance.
Top Supplements for Achieving Optimum Nutrition
1. Protein Powders
Protein is the cornerstone of any muscle-building plan. High-quality protein powders are a convenient way to meet daily protein requirements and support muscle repair. Popular options include:
Whey Protein: Known for its fast absorption and rich amino acid profile, whey protein is ideal for post-workout recovery.
Casein Protein: A slow-digesting protein that provides sustained amino acid release, making it perfect for nighttime use.
Plant-Based Protein: Suitable for those following a vegan or lactose-free diet, offering a complete protein source from plants like pea, rice, or hemp.
2. Branched-Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs)
BCAAs—leucine, isoleucine, and valine—are essential amino acids that support muscle recovery and reduce exercise-induced muscle soreness. These supplements are particularly beneficial during intense training sessions and can be consumed before, during, or after workouts.
3. Creatine Monohydrate
Creatine is one of the most researched and effective supplements for enhancing strength and power. It works by increasing the body's stores of phosphocreatine, which is used to produce ATP (adenosine triphosphate) during high-intensity activities. Regular creatine supplementation can lead to improved performance, greater muscle mass, and faster recovery.
4. Pre-Workout Supplements
Pre-workout supplements are designed to enhance energy, focus, and endurance during training. Common ingredients include caffeine, beta-alanine, citrulline malate, and nitric oxide boosters. These supplements help optimize performance, allowing individuals to push harder and achieve better results.
5. Omega-3 Fatty Acids
Omega-3 fatty acids, found in fish oil supplements, play a crucial role in reducing inflammation and promoting recovery. They also support joint health, which is essential for maintaining consistent training sessions.
6. Multivitamins
A comprehensive multivitamin can help fill nutritional gaps, ensuring the body receives essential vitamins and minerals necessary for muscle repair and overall health. Look for formulations that include key nutrients like vitamin D, magnesium, and zinc.
7. Weight Gainers
For individuals struggling to consume enough calories for muscle growth, weight gainers provide a convenient solution. These supplements are calorie-dense and contain a balanced mix of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats to support muscle building.
How to Choose the Right Supplements for Optimum Nutrition
Selecting the right supplements for optimum nutrition depends on individual goals, dietary preferences, and training intensity. Here are some tips to make an informed choice:
Assess Your Needs: Identify areas where your diet may be lacking and choose supplements that address those gaps.
Check Quality: Opt for products that undergo third-party testing to ensure purity and potency.
Consider Allergies or Intolerances: Choose supplements that align with your dietary restrictions.
Consult a Professional: Seek guidance from a nutritionist or fitness expert to tailor your supplement regimen.
Tips for Maximizing Muscle Growth with Optimum Nutrition
To get the most out of your supplements and achieve optimum nutrition, consider the following strategies:
Combine Nutrition and Training: Supplements work best when paired with a consistent and progressive training program.
Stay Consistent: Regular intake of supplements and adherence to a balanced diet are key to long-term results.
Hydrate Adequately: Proper hydration supports nutrient absorption and overall performance.
Prioritize Sleep: Recovery and muscle growth occur during rest, making quality sleep a critical component of your routine.
Conclusion
Building muscle requires a combination of hard work, dedication, and the right nutritional support. By incorporating high-quality supplements into a well-rounded diet, individuals can achieve optimum nutrition and enhance their fitness journey. Whether it's protein powders, creatine, or omega-3s, the right supplements can make a significant difference in performance, recovery, and muscle growth. Focus on selecting products that align with your goals, and remember that consistency and balance are the keys to success.

While I’m personally all for bro science and trickle-down gains, the best protein powders have come a long way since we were all freshmen in high school sucking down mass gainer shakes and asking seniors to swipe us the latest snake oil Max Power Test Boosters from GNC. That being said, your swole gym bro’s protein powder will probably get the job done—but with so many options on the market, finding the best protein powder for your specific needs can be a tall order. That’s why your gym buddies here at GQ Recommends did the heavy lifting for you and tested a grip of different protein powders to put together this list of our favorite ones, for your viewing pleasure. The Best Protein Powders, at a Glance:The Best Protein Powder Overall: Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey Protein PowderOptimum NutritionGold Standard Whey Protein PowderLook, is this the most exciting choice for the top spot? Definitely not. You’ve almost certainly seen this tub of protein on shelves at gyms and nutrition stores, and it’s probably that brand the jacked person you know first recommended to you back in the early aughts. However, there are a few reasons it’s our number one: It’s dependable, it’s affordable, it mixes well, it comes in a grip of solid flavors, and it’s got a decent amount of protein per serving. It also has a preposterous amount of positive reviews and anecdotal evidence supporting its efficacy. “I used [other protein powders] back in the day and loved them,” Austin Day—ACE-certified personal trainer, marathon runner, and former college wrestler—says. “But I always come back to Optimum.” I’ve personally gone through countless tubs of this stuff, and while it’s not my all-time favorite protein powder, it’s got a respectable 24 grams of protein per scoop and it’s the brand I feel most comfortable recommending to just about anyone looking for a no-frills, trusty whey concentrate. The Best Tasting Protein Powder: Ghost Nutter Butter Protein PowderGhostNutter Butter Protein PowderOkay, onto my personal favorite and go-to protein powder: Ghost. For years, I was an unflavored protein powder guy (I know, I know, gross), but this is the brand that changed my mind. With a range of flavors including Chips Ahoy!, Cinnabon, and (my top pick) Nutter Butter, this is without a doubt the best-tasting protein powder in the game. Their secret? They partner with snack brands and use the same ingredients you’d find in the snacks. (Like, there are literally bits and pieces of Nutter Butters in the protein powder—God bless America.) In addition to being undeniably delicious, it’s got a strong 26g of protein powder per serving, mixes well, and sits well in my stomach. The Best Value Protein Powder: Nutricost Whey Protein PowderNutricostWhey Protein PowderIf you’re into supplements, but don’t want to break the bank, you can’t go wrong with Nutricost. The products are some of the best bang-for-your-buck items on the market, and I’ve been using the brand’s supplements for years, from protein and vitamin D to creatine, magnesium, and more. As far as their protein goes, you’re getting a solid 25 grams of protein per serving—and for a $60 5-pound tub, that’s hard to top. The range of flavors leaves a little to be desired, but if you’re looking for value, this is our top pick. The Best Plant-Based Protein Powder: KOS Vegan Protein PowderMy girlfriend doesn’t digest whey protein powder very well, so she sticks to this vegan option from KOS. It’s only got 20 gram or protein per serving, which is on the lower end, but it’s also won numerous awards from a grip of publications for its flavor. (It’s actually the only plant-based protein powder my girlfriend will buy, since every other one she’s tried has been a let-down flavor-wise.) Do we love the “superfood” denomination? Not really, but the taste alone puts this one in our top spot for plant-based protein powder. The Best Whey Isolate Protein Powder: Isopure Whey Isolate Protein PowderIsopureWhey Isolate Protein PowderHold on, whey isolate? What’s that? Well, whey protein powder usually comes in two forms: whey isolate and whey concentrate. The difference is that whey isolate undergoes more processing, which makes isolate contain fewer fats and carbs per serving than concentrate (a.k.a. it “isolates” the whey). Does it make a huge, notable difference in your gains? Probably not. However, a few of our testers with sensitive stomachs report that isolate is easier to digest, compared to concentrate. The tradeoff is that it tends to be more expensive than concentrate. Our pick is Isopure: I’ve been a fan of this protein in the past, but the $80 price point for 41 servings was a little tough for me to swallow. However, this 25-gram-per-scoop formula comes highly recommended by a slew of testers and reviewers alike, and if you find that isolate is easier on your stomach, it’s something to consider. The Best Unflavored Protein Powder: Levels Grass Fed Whey Protein PowderLevelsGrass Fed Whey Protein PowderI was a Levels man myself for about a year, and if I’m honest, I picked it because of the cow on the tub—and I’m glad I did because this grass-fed protein is some of the best I’ve tried. Coming in at a dollar an ounce, it’s not the cheapest option, but it’s 25 grams per scoop, made in the USA, and has [deep breath] no hormones, no GMOs, no added sugars, no soy, no gluten, no bleach, no fillers, and no artificial flavors or sweeteners. My favorite part, though? The unflavored… flavor (?) blends seamlessly into whatever you put it in. One of my biggest gripes with protein powder is that I can always tell when that chalky whey flavor cuts through an otherwise delicious bowl of oatmeal, smoothie, or shake. This stuff? Undetectable. To really put it to the test (gird your loins), I mixed a scoop of it with straight water—yes, really—and could hardly tell the difference, besides the slightly, uh, thicker texture. The Best Clear Whey Isolate: Isopure Clear Whey Isolate Protein PowderIsopureClear Whey Isolate Protein PowderClear whey isolate is a relatively new item you might have seen gracing the online shelves of your favorite online supplement retailers. Basically, it’s whey protein that’s been “ultra hydrolyzed” to mix clear and be far less thick than the whey concentrate you might be used to. I was pretty skeptical at first, but after trying this out, I’ve gotta say, it’s a cool idea, and it actually works. All you do is mix it in water, give it a good shake in a blender bottle, and wait a few minutes for the foam to settle. The end result is like a slightly thicker Gatorade, and while it’s definitely not my go-to way of consuming protein powder, it’s a great option for those who want to use protein powder, say, intra-workout or outside on a hot day, when the idea of sucking down thick chocolate sludge might not be so appealing. (Two things to note: It’s only got 20 grams per scoop, and it’s pricey.)Why Should You Use Protein Powder? With so many health claims floating around social media, it can be tough to spot the supplement scams. For example, those “detox teas” probably didn’t give your favorite influencer a six-pack, and there’s a small chance that the protein powder your jacked gym buddy has a promo code for in his Instagram bio isn’t the sole cause of his jacked-ness.However, protein is decidedly not a scam and can help you build muscle—so long as you’re also eating a balanced diet, training hard, and focusing on your sleep and recovery. Protein powder shouldn’t be your only source of protein (you should try to get most of your protein from whole foods) but it's a great way to sneak in some extra protein throughout the day, and are hard to beat if you’re on a time crunch or on the go.“Protein powder is a convenient tool you can use to meet your daily protein needs, but it should be used to complement, not replace, a balanced diet,” Jennifer Conway, MPH, RD, LDN, and Director of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention at Waimānalo Health Center, explains. “Before supplementing, I recommend you identify your exact daily protein needs based on your weight, age, fitness level, and nutrition goals. The quality of protein powder matters, so look for brands that contain all nine essential amino acids and are third-party tested for quality and safety. For optimal results—and taste!—pair it with whole foods like fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats like nuts or nut milk, and supplement around your activity levels—like after workouts to support muscle recovery or for on-the-go nutrition to sustain your energy during the day. Remember that moderation is key for a balanced lifestyle and excessive reliance on supplements can leave gaps with other essential nutrients.”How We TestedIn my 15 years of strength training, I’ve tried pretty much every major protein powder out there, from no-name Wal-Mart brands to high-end, probably-too-expensive blends from the newest, most hyped-up DTC brands in the game. Plus, I also consulted with my network of meatheads testers, which includes my fellow gym rats office, former NCAA athletes, NASM- and ACE-certified trainers, and competitive BJJ grapplers. Winning the Weight Game: Find the Best Weight Gainer for You
Have you ever felt that your weight-gain goal is a never-ending hamsterwheel? Adding pounds can be a challenge for many. We'll explore the weight-gainers available to you, and the options that will help you gain more pounds faster than you could say "pass me the potatoes." The best weight gainer helps to fuel intense workouts and recovery.
What is weight gainer exactly? Imagine a mixture that contains a variety of carbohydrates, proteins, fats and calories in a single gulp. This is the perfect solution for those who are constantly struggling to keep up with their avian hunger but need extra energy.
You'll soon find yourself in a jungle of colorful products. Imagine you're on your grocery store quest and are bewildered at the number of bags and boxes that promise Herculean power with just a teaspoon of magic powder. Some are taller, but not all.
First up, Optimum Nutrition Serious Mass. Like a reliable friend who is always there when you ask for a favor. The serving size is a whopping 1,250 calories, and it boasts 50 grams of quality protein. Don't forget about the glutamine and creatine, both of which give a boost to your muscle recovery. Just mix with milk and chug.
Let's now talk about Muscle Milk gainer. Like the secret weapon you keep in your locker. It's not only packed with calories, it is also armed with Probiotics. Imagine it like a Swiss Army knife for your stomach, while also accelerating the caloric intake. It has a creamy texture and doesn't sit like a brick. Yummy!
You may have heard it before: "Go Big or Go Home". BSN True Mass is a product that lives by this motto. Every serving delivers 700 calories, 46 grams of proteins and essential amino acids. This critter is a great meal for enhancing muscle mass.
Don't forget Dymatize super mass gainer on your journey through supplements. Imagine a miniature Thanksgiving in every sip. Every serving packs 1,280 calories! Add 52 grams of high-quality protein to the mix, and you've got a vitamin arsenal that is impressive. You'll be ready to go into beast mode with this doctor-recommended diet.
Of course, drinking these shakes only represents one aspect of the equation. These shakes are not a genie lamp that will instantly transform you into a beautiful woman. All the calories won't do any good if your body isn't also working out. Workouts are not a backbreaking task, but a way to build muscle.
You should also always check the sugar and fat contents when choosing a supplement. It's not a good idea to add unhealthy fats, or have sugar surges that are more hectic than a classroom full of caffeine-fed toddlers. Aim for a diet that is balanced and doesn't cause your body to crash.
As we conclude this calorie fantasy, keep in mind that gaining weight requires both consistency and patience. You won't have a forest overnight, but if you keep nurturing it and tending to the seed, you will soon see it grow. Grab that weight-gainer and gulp with gusto. Then, like a toddler who is learning to walk, slowly march toward your goal.

The protein content promotes the building of new muscle tissues when combined with physical strain through workouts.
How Much To Consume
The optimum daily dose of the Rapid Gain is approximately two to three scoops (500–750 calories per serving). However, obtaining the exact amount requires consideration of personal variables including body weight and fitness level. Beginners can begin with two scoops and progressively go to three, depending on how well their bodies react to the extra calories.
Consume Post Workout
For best absorption, it is advisable to have the Rapid Gain shake within 30 minutes of finishing a workout session as at the time, the muscles are primed to take up amino acids for remodelling. Blending the Rapid GXN shake with water or milk helps provide quick nutrition when the body needs it most. Over time, this enhances the anabolic response from training.

Some tips for vegetarians -
Use vegetarian protein powders, eat pulses, tempeh, and textured vegetable protein instead of meat. Consume cottage cheese, tofu and paneer for protein. Go for quinoa, oats, and buckwheat as quality carbs. Stay consistent with strength training and consume Rapid Gain, the best mass gainer in India, as suggested earlier to build muscle effectively without meat. With discipline, results are achievable even on a vegetarian diet.
Focus on Strength Training
To effectively utilise premium proteins and nutrients in Rapid Gain, it is important to train with progressive overload in mind. Basic callisthenics alone may not stimulate muscle protein synthesis sufficiently. Exercises like squat, deadlift, bench press, rows etc. must be included in a full body routine 2-3 times a week. This causes the muscles to be rebuilt thicker through adequate nutrition of Rapid Gain.
Cardio and Rest
Moderate cardio for 20-30 minutes after weight sessions helps lactate clearance as well as improves work capacity over time. At least one day of rest in a week is essential for recovery and super-compensation. Adequate sleep, hydration, and stress management should be achieved with activities like yoga, which further support the growth process when combining rapid gain intake and targeted strength training.
Patience and Consistency
Most importantly, consistent usage of the Best Mass Gainer in India i.e. GNX Rapid Gain as per guidelines over several months is needed to experience considerable and symmetrical muscle accrual.
Impatience often leads to inconsistencies harming progress. Therefore, realistic and sustained goals can be set by sticking to the plan without deviations for the best results. Monitoring weight, strength and appearance periodically keeps motivation intact.

By following the right macros, workout routine and recovery protocol while using GXN Rapid Gain regularly, one can gain substantial lean muscles and improve overall physique within 6-8 months.
