Recruitment to the post of Medical Officer (Assistant Surgeon) in Group A (Junior Branch) of the Odisha Medical & Health Services Cadre under the Health & Family Welfare Department. 
ODISHA MEDICAL OFFICER EXAMINATION 2022-23
The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) is the state agency authorized to conduct the Recruitment to the post of OPSC Medical Officers (Assistant Surgeon) in Group-A (Junior Branch) of the Odisha Medical & Health Services Cadre under the Health & Family Welfare Department.     
At present, Online applications are invited from the prospective candidates through the Proforma Application to be made available on the WEBSITE https://www.opsc.gov.in for recruitment to 3481 (Three thousand eight hundred eighty-one) posts of OPSC Medical Officers (Assistant Surgeon) in Group-A (Junior Branch) of Odisha Medical & Health Services Cadre under Health & Family Welfare Department in the pay matrix of Level 12, Cell — | of & 56,100/- of ORSP, 2017 with usual Dearness and other Allowances as may be sanctioned by the Government of Odisha from time to time.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR OPSC MEDICAL OFFICER (OPSC MO)
Citizenship: A candidate must be a citizen of India. 
OPSC MEDICAL OFFICER (OPSC MO) Educational Qualification: A candidate must have possessed:—
(i) M.B.B.S. or equivalent Degree from a Medical College or Medical Institution recognized by the Medical Council of India,
(ii) Must have a valid registration certificate under the Odisha Medical “Registration Rules 1961”; and
(iii) Possessed required conversion certificates recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI) in case of candidate having Degrees from Universities of Foreign Countries.
OPSC MO Age: (as on 01/01/2022)
Minimum age - 21 years Maximum age - 38 years 
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 (Twenty one) years and must not be above 38 (Thirty eight) years as on 1 day of January 2022 i.e, he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd January, 1984 and not later than 1 January, 2001.
The recruitment notification offers age relaxation to candidates belonging to certain categories and communities. It must be noted that all the relaxations and reservations would be given to the residents of Odisha only.
OPSC MO OTHER ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS: 
(i) The candidate must be a citizen of India,
(ii) The candidate must be of good mental condition and sound health and free from any physical defects likely to interfere with the discharge of his duties in the service and in case a candidates, who after such medical examination as the Government may prescribe, is not found to satisfy these requirements shall not be appointed to the service. .
(iii) The candidate shall be able to speak, read and write Odia and must have -
(a) Passed Middle School examination in Odia as a language subject; or
(b) Passed Matriculation or equivalent examination with Odia as medium of examination in non-language subject; or
(c) Passed in Odia as language subject in the final examination of Class VII or above; or
(d) Passed a test in Odia in Middle English School Standard conducted by the School and Mass Education Department.
(e) If a candidate has not passed Middle School Examination in Odia as a language subject, shall be allowed to pass the examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha within two years of Joining the service failing which no further increment shall be sanctioned and no promotion to the rank of Group A (Senior Branch) will be made.
