Okay, but I love everything about this and there are some brilliant thoughts here. I agree with a lot of it.

Slightly unrelated but sort of adjacent: When I was writing the latest chapter of Of Protein Powders and PTAs I got distracted thinking about what could’ve happened with the Black family if Voldemort had died during the first war and the cousins had stayed out of Azkaban or just not died. What (if anything) could’ve changed once their parents had died? Is there a world in which the cousins could’ve found their way back to each other? Where Sirius and Regulus could?

I’m really enjoying to explore some of those possible dynamics in OPPAP (lol, great short for the fic).

Me, looking at canon that heavily implies most of the Blakc family did not care about each other and that Sirius and Regulus quit speaking: This does not spark joy

Me, headcanoning that at least Sirius, Regulus, and their cousins love each other and they all regularly speak, and also confuse everyone else around because they frequently argue and have had duels in the hallways but it’s escaped nobody’s notice that when someone else does this, they are made to pay for it: This does spark joy

People can pry “Actually, all the kids were close in age and loved each other, they protected one another fiercely” from my cold, dead hands. To me, they embody “Yeah, we argue 95% of the time and fight, but we will band together against anybody else who does something” so I cherry pick my canon

Say what you will about the Black family, but growing up as I'm guessing most purebloods did, with little interaction with those outside of that close-knit circle, no proper schooling until Hogwarts, likely only tutoring - it's got to be lonely. And that's what happens in most families, isn't it? The children gravitate to one another because most times, they see each other all the time, more than any others. Then they begin to drift as they grow older.

I fully support this headcanon and have similar ones myself. I don't see how they couldn't have all been ridiculously close. Fighting, yes, of course. It was a dark bunch with dark teachings and parents that were likely aloof and cared little for showing affection of any kind. I can see all these terrible squabbles breaking out, and they're children, right? Children get angry, have tantrums. So boom, sudden bursts of uncontrollable magic. There's Sirius with a broom handle for an arm or Narcissa with all her hair gone.

There is nothing in canon that suggests they weren't close to some extent. Sirius only ever really talks about Andromeda, but that doesn't mean anything, except that she's the only one who agreed with him on their joint views of the world, so they remained relatively close until things fell apart in '81.

But I think it's the pressure that drove them apart. Bellatrix, being the oldest, like Sirius, was under immense strain, I'm sure. The pressure to conform, to age and marry appropriately, to start producing children of her own to carry on the line must have been terrible. And it broke her, drove her to that other side of insanity always looming over them all because they were pushed so hard.

Andromeda got out of it, ran off with Ted, but still stayed in touch as much as she could. Maybe she tried that with Regulus as well as Sirius, along with Narcissa (because Bella would have cast her off by then). But things fizzled as they grew and divided.

Then that left Narcissa. I feel like she and Regulus stayed the closest once the others were gone. And I think she grieved Regulus' disappearance and loss to a great, silent extreme.

That fracturing of family happens all the time, but they must have been intensely close growing up, and no one can argue me on that point. It's just how families work.

UTOPIA reveals COSMO’s  teaser photo for their upcoming comeback!

2K’s conceptual group Utopia, already released teaser photos for their group’s leader, as well as their lead vocalist’.  Those amazing group teasers are followed by the group’s visual, Cosmo (@cosmojnkyu.)

The teaser photo revealed Cosmo’s character for the conceptual comeback as ‘The Lion Tamer’ in which matched the way he’s dressed on the said teaser image. 2K also revealed that due to the member lineup change, Cosmo had been promoted from Lead Vocalist to Main vocalist. The group is gearing up for a January 28 comeback with their 2nd full length album “The Night Circus.” This will be Utopia’s first release as a six-member group after the official departure of two members. The title track will soon be revealed so keep your eyes open for the Utopia.

BUTIG, Lanao del Sur, Mar. 15 (PIA)--To create economic opportunities to decommissioned Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) combatants and their families in Bangsamoro communities, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Peace Process (OPAPP) launched the Php16M Waste Processing Livelihood Project, an Inter-Cabinet Cluster Mechanism on Normalization’s (ICCMN) Peaceful Return through Aggressive Inclusion and Social Entrepreneurship (PRAISE) project here on Friday, March 12,

DTI Undersecretary Abdulgani Macatoman said the PRAISE project is a joint-collaboration of OPPAPP which funded the second Shared Service Facility (SSF) project in the municipality and DTI.

“This is the project we have turned over to the LGU. Ito ay isang machine na nag-poprocess ng mga basura para gawing kapakipakinabang. For example, ang eco-bricks na pwede gamitin sa parks beautification at marami pa,” he explained.

DTI Usec. Macatoman watches a demonstration of the actual operation of the mechanized solid waste management system equipment, an ICCMN-PRAISE project under the joint-collaboration of DTI and OPAPP.

Asec. Ameenah Fajardo of DTI congratulated ICCMN, OPAPP, and the municipality of Butig for the establishment of the mechanized solid waste management system which will provide lucrative livelihood opportunities to the less fortunate and at the same time increase the solid waste diversion in the municipality.

She also reassured the public that the agency remains true to its mandate in ensuring Filipinos get back on their feet through providing livelihood assistance projects and continuously supporting MSMEs to foster economic opportunities and development in the country.

For his part, Ariel Hernandez, OPAPP's Senior Adviser to the Secretary and Chairperson of the Joint Normalization Committee stressed that the agency is one with the people of Butig in achieving a peaceful and progressive community capable of its socioeconomic potential.

“Yung kasaysayan ng Butig [ay] puno ng kasaysayan ng kaguluhan. It already became a recent history kasi nag-transition na tayo sa mapayapa at maunlad na Butig. Since 2016, wala na tayong narinig na may kaguluhan pa dito. Ang makikita na natin ngayon ay ang tourist attractions [at] government projects. Ang nakikita lang natin ay ang pagkilos ng mga local government officials para sa kabutihan sa Butig,” Hernandez said.

He also highlighted the various efforts being carried out by OPAPP through its various peace tables, which he described as a “platform for the common good” with the collaboration, communication, and coordination of the national and local government.

Meanwhile, Butig Mayor Dimnatang L. Pansar said the project is a manifestation of achieving peace wherein the municipality is thriving to be “the most peaceful town in the region” following the Marawi siege in 2017. 

“We will take care of the equipment to maximize its use, its purpose and objectives for the good people of Butig and its neighboring municipalities,” he added. (KAPS/PIA-ICIC)

MADALUM, Lanao del Sur, Apr. 26 -- Two days before the start of Ramadan, the 55th Infantry (Vigilant) Battalion in collaboration with the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPPAP) handed over food packs to 42 rebel returnees.

In a simple ceremony held at Barangay Multi-Purpose Hall of Barangay Dilausan here, Lieutenant Colonel Franco Raphael H. Alano, commanding officer of the Vigilant Battalion together with the Barangay Chairperson Aman Usop, conducted the initial distribution and handing over of the food packs to ten (10) rebel returnees.

Similar ceremonies were also held at the Municipality of Pagayawan were food packs were also given to eight (8) rebel returnees and in the Municipality of Bayang were 22 rebel returnees benefited from the program.

Each of the beneficiaries received 20 kilograms of rice, a kilo of dried fish, and a variety of condiments that they could use during the Iftar or the breaking of the daily fast during the holy month of Ramadan.

The rebel returnees are former members of the Daesh-inspired Local Terrorist Group in Lanao del Sur who through various efforts of the battalion and with the support of the residents, decided to return to the folds of the law.

The rebel returnees are currently undergoing various programs of the government to help them reintegrate back to society. (55th IB/PIA ICIC)
