OOC: hey, folks. Quick but very important PSA. It's something that'll be hard for me to say but I think for everyone it's better if I say it early.

I reblogged a fan poster earlier, but after talking with my friends, partner, and people I trust, I'm going to delete that reblog and put into place a policy where I ask people not to send me fan posters, and I will not look at them.

This is NOT about the quality of that poster or the one or two that are in my inbox right now. I spent all of today ecstatic that people liked my stuff enough to make fan works, but when it comes to fan posters, I realized that I can't look at them - like authors and fanfic. I do make a little money on the poster and sticker designs, and using other people's ideas is sticky. I don't want to steal full poster ideas or be locked out of a topic because someone got to it "first".

This is an interactive fiction universe, that much is true, but it's also something I want to do as a side gig. I have a few poster drafts that are inspired by asks I've gotten, but I feel that's different than redoing a whole poster.

I am so incredibly flattered people are making fanworks. I'm still flabbergasted that ANYONE finds my stuff inspiring enough to make their own works based on mine. And to be clear, fan art is 100% loved and accepted, but I just don't want to steal anyone's ideas.

If you'd like to make OPN fan posters, I would like to suggest tagging them with something like "OPNfanposters" so that I can put that in my block list.

I'm open to feedback on this and the policy may change later, but I wanted to put it out there early. Thank you all for understanding.
