Friday Morning Thoughts: Just a few years ago, the thought of working out made me incredibly miserable. I dreaded working out. I was about 35lbs heavier and to be honest, I hated my body. I had no interest in being active or really moving unless I had to. I was stuck in a terrible rut health/fitness wise and I felt awful. . . . Fast forward to now, my day feels off if I don’t workout lol I love being active and I absolutely love lifting weights. I gave Crossfit a try for a couple of years back in 2013, but I wasn’t as into weight lifting as I am now. . . . I’ve been going to @crossfit_spot 4x a week for the past three weeks and I’m in love y’all 😍 When I’m here it’s like a vacation away from everything else going on in life. I would seriously go 6 Days a week if I had the time. Since I moved to New York my workout schedule has been sporadic and inconsistent. So far (3 weeks in), this definitely feels like something I’ll stick with. So if I’m not at #AMDA, this is where you’ll find me lol 😂 . . . A Few of my 2018 Fitness Goals: -10 Unassisted Pull Ups (unbroken) -Handstand Push Ups (& a Handstand. Guess I better get that 1st lol) -Back Squat PR of 250lbs (PR: 205 // Currently @ 175lbs, working my way back up to my old PR 1st) -Increased Mobility and Flexibility in Hips Weight Loss: I’d love to drop 10-15lbs. I do my best to remind myself that my fitness journey is just that - a journey, not a destination. Although I've yet to achieve my goal weight, I'm incredibly proud of my recent PRs: -3 Rep Max for Squats: 200lbs -5 Unassisted Pull Ups -5 Push Ups with a Clap ______________________________________ When I first started my fitness journey, I couldn't do ANY of those things. Going to the gym used to be a struggle, now it's fun 😁Consistency really does make a difference! Your body will adapt. You will get stronger! Trust me. This is what happens when you haven't ran outside in months and you have the brilliant idea to get off the couch to go run a 5k 😫 ______________________________________ If you've been following me for awhile, you know that I go to the gym anywhere from 4-6x per week, but listen - running outside is a whole different ball game people. ______________________________________ My fastest documented 5k is 25:05. This evening I ran a 5k in 26:43. Although it's not my best, I'm grateful that I have developed the ability to get up and go run just because I feel like it 😉🙌🏽💪🏽 ______________________________________ I will say this though - I'll probably be sore tomorrow.
