Revolutionary Army Punk AU

Ft: Luffy (not punk)

Steampunk is cool but i think just straight up punk would be cooler. I just think what they stand for lines up a lot better

Design notes:

I did some research and talked to a punk friend of mine for these as i am not a punk, myself, and I dont want to look like a poser. I think i did a really good job translating them and i want to explain my thoughts!

Sabo was first, of course.

I not only wanted to make the characters punk, but i also wanted to crank their designs up about 20 notches, so i gave Sabo’s scar one hell of an upgrade. In this version I tried to make it very clear that that cannon ball hit him head-on. I think it works really well with his punk vibes because under-cuts and shaved parts of the head in general are very popular in punk culture.

I largely tried to keep the silhouettes the same with this au, and It was really easy to keep it with Sabo because of the fact that he already has a lot of design elements that translate well to punk. His big pants into tall boots were perfect to translate, crust pants and steel toed boots fits him well. Trench coats arent a staple in Punk, but i couldnt take the coats away from him… him or Belo. They deserve it…

I threw away his cravat for a choker, i replaced his vest with a red tank top and his undershirt for fishnets, Patches up the wazoo, he looks very cool.

Belo Betty was next, she was super easy to translate. She’s already in the punk spirit with her tits out, we love to see it. Her hat was really difficult to translate, along with all the other hats, but a red knitted hat that has those two points cuz it’s essentially a scarf sewed together looks nice on her.

My punk friend suggested i give her a bunch of nets and harnesses and i really agreed that was her style, so i gave her red tie to Morley, slapped some harnesses on her and just overall just turned her sexy up like 50 notches. I think i was clever how i adapted her striped stockings here with how they have runs in them.

Karasu is almost the exact same. I just threw out his dinky little cravat and gave him a bandana and harness. I also gave him piercings. That’s the only difference. In the words of my Punk friend “hes naked and wearing a spiked mask, He can hang”

Speaking of what my punk friend said, he said that Lindbergh would get “demolished” in the pit, and that he looks like he’s scared of bees. The consensus was that he couldn’t hang. But also i still had to make him punk, so then he suggested CBGB punks:

Redneck, bluegrass, southern american punks. I was really in a rut with his design, I didn’t know what to do to keep the silhouette of his backpack. But everything changed when I chance got the idea of a guitar. And then everything flowed from there

He was so so fun to draw, i love his fucked up eyes.

For dragon, i didnt change much at all, even though it’s only his bust that’s shown. Imagine everything is the same, except now he has piercings. Dragon isnt concerned with the punk fashion, but the punk cause.

For Luffy, I wasnt trying to make him punk, but he felt a bit plain looking like base Luffy next to punk Sabo, so i just did the “turn design up 20 notches”, and just gave him a more visibly tattered hat, bangles and waist beads.

That’s about it! Ive been getting a lot of comments and asks lately saying that you guys like when i go on my design explanations, and i realized that i didnt do that for the last few AU’s, so i thought id type this up :)

Like look at those eyes. Those are the eyes of a man that has several things wrong with him and he's about to make each and every one of them and this rusty pipe, your problem.

Thinking about how Sabo would steal all sorts of jewellery and expensive clothes from the nobles he encounters on his missions. He takes diamond bracelets, emerald rings, handbags worth more than his own bounty and clothes so rare they have waiting lists of almost a decade. Then when his mission is over he returns back to the base and gives it all as gifts to you, decking you out in the finest the four seas and the Grandline has to offer.

You don't know if it's his desire to provide for you and his own strange way of thanking you for loving him so beautifully or a way of reminding the nobles of what they have to loose and rubbing it in their faces that their important social status can be taken away so easily to be given to a commoner. Sabo is sadistic and arrogant, he burns with hatred and is motivated by a messy sense of justice but he loves you in his own weird way.

The luxurious bracelets and necklaces that cover your body and the high-end bags that you wear as though they were commonly found in a normal boutique are proof of that. He's arrogant but his arrogance always falls at your feet and submits to a desire to make you happy. However, sometimes his own whims have to win and the hours he spends between your legs as you lay sprawled out in your sheets decorated in priceless luxuries are his tools of revenge against those who oppress the world.

Sabo's tongue spreads the Revolutionary Army's message and criticises the nobles, but it also serves to make you feel good. His hands steal overpriced artisan objects and fight off corruption; but also clasp on expensive jewellery to your neck and caress your body so he never forgets how you feel pressed against him. He craves and loves you with a deep burning passion and he serves his job with that same passion. So it's only natural that they combine occasionally in your bedsheets and escape through your cries of pleasure beneath him.

“Where did she come from?” Dragon asks as he stares at the running child, her tail trailing behind her as she ran

“She flew into the ship a while ago, said she was exploring,” Ivankov answers as he watches the girl jump into Koala’s hands, laughing

“I’ve never seen something like her in all my years!” Koala grins at the child as she curls up on her shoulder

“Nor have I, I don’t ever remember seeing one of her kind in my life,” Sabo speaks up as he leans in closer to get a better look at the girl

She leans back from koala, wiggling out of her grasp and flapping her wings flying in front of Sabo

“Whoa there, aren’t you cute?” Sabo glances at the child with a slight smile on his face, reaching a hand out towards her

She furls up in a ball, beaming at his comment, still keeping herself up in the air, her cheeks tinted pink

“Thank you~.”

“You have scales on your cheeks… are you a dragon girl?” Sabo asks, still reaching his hand out carefully toward her

She unfurls herself, leaning into his touch and allowing him to feel the scales on her cheek

“Im Dragon Hybrid; I guess that makes me a dragon girl,” she says, thinking about it

“A dragon girl… that’s pretty incredible,” Sabo murmurs, smiling softly at the girl as he lightly runs a finger across her cheek

“Are you a Dragon Man? They called you Dragon. Are you a cool dragon? Can you breathe fire? Or are you a water dragon? Does your form like a serpent?” She rambles, flying in front of dragon excitedly

“She’s energetic,” Dragon says before sighing as he watches the child and rubbing his temples as he watches her buzz around

“I think she’s adorable,” Koala gushes with a grin on her face

“No. I am not a dragon; My name is Monkey D. Dragon.”

“Awe, no dragon? Nothing?”

“What do I look like a Dragon to you?” Dragon sighs, rubbing his hand down his face as he stares at her

“Hmmm,” she thinks as he circles him

“Yeah, kinda do.”

“Please tell me how I look like a dragon,” Dragon asks with a scoff in his tone

“You remind me of some of the grumpy dragons; they have that same scowl you have right now.”

“That is quite an interesting way to describe someone,” Dragon replies, shaking his head with a slight grin

“She is an interesting child, that’s for certain” Sabo speaks up, glancing at her curiously while she circles his captain

He grins as he calls her over

“Check this out,” he says, lighting his hand on fire

She awes at the sight

“Are you a dragon?”

“Just an ability granted to me by my devil fruit” He smiles, returning his hand to its original state

“The mera mera fruit! Somehow both me and my brother have it.” ” He continues, excited about demonstrating his abilities

She marbles at his numerous tricks and fire abilities that he keeps showing her

She frowns as nightfall falls; hours had gone quickly as she went from member to member with her usual antics

At one point even giving Ivancov a heart attack as they casually started coughing out golden coins when they had asked her how she bought food for herself.

“Is this not how you guys normally get these shiny things?” She had questioned, much to the shock and horror of some of the crewmates

“Aww, I have to get going now.”

“You’re going?” Koala looks at her disappointedly; she had enjoyed being around the child

“Mmhm, I have to keep going if I want to explore and meet more places and people. Im sure I‘ll see you again 'cause we're both moving around.”

“Well, I look forward to seeing you again then.”

“Goodbye, be careful on your travels, alright?” Sabo says with a soft smile before reaching out to gently ruffle her hair before she takes off

“And don’t get yourself into too much trouble!” Ivankov calls after the girl before turning to the others,

“Well, she was a pleasant surprise” he grins

“I didn’t expect a child to just wander into our ship,” Dragon chuckles while rubbing his head

Reader had now somehow found themselves aboard the Moby Dick, she was tired from her travels and needed to land, and the ship happened to be the closest.

She sneaked her way to the storage room so she could sleep the night away, and she did until she was interrupted when two of the ship's commanders descended into the storage room in search of more food to restock the kitchen. Ace accidentally knocks into one of the boxes, startling awake the dragon girl; he stares at her for a while as she stares back.

“Thatch, are you thinking what im thinking?”

“Yep, old pops is gonna throw a celebration when he hears we have got ourselves a kid on board.”

She stares at them for a second and smiles

Ace chuckles before leaning down in front of you.

"What's your name, kid?" he says, grinning.

“Im reader!” She replies, her wings flapping gently behind her

"Well, hey there, Reader. I'm Ace. And that's Thatch," he says, gesturing to the man standing next to him.

She grins and waves at them excitedly

Ace laughs and picks her up.

"What are you doing stowing away on our ship, anyway? It's not like you could even fit in these boxes. You know, most stowers usually just do it so that they can rob our ship. But the thing is, I don't see any weapons on you." Thatch comments, observing her

“Im not stowing away! Im exploring!” The pout,

“And I don’t need any weapons! I got these!” She says as she wacks her tail and wings and gently headbutts Ace with her horns

Ace laughs as she headbutts him.

"You're pretty feisty, huh? That's a good trait for a pirate. And you say you're not a stowaway or a robber, but you're definitely a bit of a troublemaker, aren't you?"

“Im not a Pirate either.”

Thatch chuckles, a bit confused.

"You're not a pirate? Well, what are you then? A marine? A merchant? Or even a traveler?" he asks.

“Umm, I ‘m Reader!”

"Well, okay then. And how old are you, Reader?" he asks.

“8!”

Ace laughs, looking at Thatch

"Eight? Now I really want to take her to Pops. Because I can already tell that he's gonna love you, kiddo." He says, glancing back at her

“Popsicle?”

They snicker

"Popsicle? No, no, no, no. Pops. Our captain. Whitebeard? He's probably gonna get a kick out of finding a stowaway as adorable as you." Thatch explains

“Not a stowaway!”

"Okay, okay, okay. Fine, fine. You're not a stowaway. You're just an adorable little kid who decided, at eight years old, to explore on her own. Not to mention, you just decided to explore the ship of the Whitebeard Pirates, of all places.”Ace says, fixing his previous statement for the small girl

She nods, pleased with his description

I drew for @hamstercheese7's piece in the @opmetgalazine and now im gonna ramble

ham wanted each Rev army member to have high fashion artsy protest outfits inspired by different issues surrounding the OP world. My job was to figure it out while keeping the character silhouettes of each to keep them instantly recognizable despite the censorship portrayed in the article. and bc i wanted to keep the censorship i naturally couldnt show the actual fits so anyway: morley's was inspired by leather bdsm fetish gear x actual prison gear with all the cuffs and chains, pointiness and leather. "Prison themes could be a little inspired by both genderqueer fashion and the black panthers" as ham said except i took that literally. i mean impel down does have a gay club in its walls

betty's is inspired by Hunger Pains and of course the iconic Lady Gaga meat dress. meant to satirize the unfair distribution of food resources in favor of the wealthy who just uses it as a fashion statement yada yada im not a worder. the deliberate choice of lack of color for this spread robbed this one the most but blame the government. favorite detail is the rib cage hook closure pattern

iva's was the last i did and on hindsight the easiest. ham mentioned wanting a fishmen rights statement piece and ofc iva's entire fishnet getup was an easy translation. favorite detail i had to bend over backward to show is the harpoon heel

other ideas for characters i couldnt fit: - Dragon in channel-esque thom browne design for over militarization - karasu 'plight of the poor' statement piece i was imagining smth like Cruella (2021) garbage truck dress - sabo/koala in caricatured french noble fits pre-revolution

Was super jazzed to participate in the @opmetgalazine doing some little cute downloadable note/memo paper designs, it was a super fun project to work on and it came out SO nicely. Each sheet (with the exception of novas) had one larger and one smaller drawing that featured SWORD, X Guild, RA, Marines, and the Supernovas.

Hi, I have another request! This is going to be a long detail.. sorry!

Can Straw Hats, Heart Pirates, Kid Pirates, Whitebeard Pirates, Revolutionary Army and Marines react to Female! Y/N like Pinkie Pie, who is the entertainer.

Her personality is hyperactive, excitable, quirky, and outgoing but she's always quick to apologize when she steps on any foot or hands.

She's somewhere inbetween tomboy and girly.

She is talking fast

She tends to have a lighthearted manner in serious situations. She is often not taken seriously even by her closest friends, who occasionally call her out on her seemingly illogical behavior.

Hobbies: parties, singing, and fun!

She also has a pet baby alligator named Gummy whom she loves dearly.

Insecurity:

She is very sensitive to rejection too. When she thinks her friends don't like her anymore (it turns out to be a big misunderstanding involving a surprise birthday party) she loses the ability to think rationally, retreats into her imagination, and starts talking to inanimate objects.

She shows an insecure side of her personality, doubting her friends or herself. she believes her friends to be unfaithful, causing her hair to "deflate" . She slowly goes insane as she adopts several inanimate objects as new friends, pretending that they are real.

She tries to prove that she is responsible by begging her friends, eventually they accept it. She becomes overwhelmed by the task and shows doubt in her ability to handle the responsibility.

She worries that some of her crew will eventually forget about her and the rest of their friends when Luffy becomes a King of the Pirates or some of her crew accomplished their dreams.

She feels outdone and replaced. She gives up party planning and tries other tasks but fails at them. Her faith in herself is only renewed when she looks back on parties she had thrown for her friends.

Ability:

She looks silly and but she's the smartest one of her crew. She’s also intelligent and perceptive enough to explain the plan to the others in a more understandable manner. She made some crazy contraptions in her time, but the craziest thing is that they’ve all worked! She’s creative enough to come up with her inventions, but she’s also clever enough to put them all together. She’ll have to have blueprinted them, crafted them, wired them etc. has demonstrated time and time again that she’s got a real talent for music, but it all seems to come out of the blue. I mean, she didn’t even realise she could play the organ until she came across it by chance. She can play multiple instrumentals all and she can play them well.

Someone smart like (Robin and Law) couldn’t think of a way to plan. The immensely gifted, they didn’t think to use their plan to get out of their situation, and Female! Y/N looked so DONE!, but she always seems to be one step ahead. One of the crew deadass says to the other member, “Sometimes I think she’s the smartest one of us all” too, and the other member agrees. She’s lowkey brilliant, and they all know it.

She frequently sings songs of her writing, but the other people's reactions are not always favorable. Her friends react skeptically when she begins singing, and her audience reacts very negatively to her song-and-dance routine. But at the same time, some of her songs are received extremely positively by her friends and everyone else alike.

She is an Expert Baker.

She is an exceptional ice skating pony, stating that she's been skating since she was "an itty-bitty little-widdle twinkie-Pinkie".

She can break the fourth wall, She may act and sound completely insane, but she’s competent enough to fathom that she’s simply a fictional character on a human’s screen. She knows too much.

She embodies friendship! She knows everybody! She gets along with everypony!

She sports Cartoon Physics, which she can use to warp the fabric of reality around her.

She can evenly match Kizaru's speed.

When she keeps someone to her word, she pops out of a basket of sponges, a basket of apples, and even from the reflection-side of a mirror every time anyone is about to slip up on her promise.

She has a strange ability (Pink Sense) to predict the future through various twitches and involuntary motions made by her body.

Twitchy Tail: When stuff's gonna start falling.

Ears Flopping: Starting a bath for someone.

Itchy Back: Female! Y/N's lucky day.

Pinchy Knee: Something scary's about to happen.

Achy Shoulder: There's an alligator in the tub.

Ear Flop, Knee Twitch, Eye Flutter: The sky is about to be graced with a beautiful rainbow.

Itchy Nose: A swarm of bees.

Shudders: It's a doozy. Something that someone never expects to happen is gonna happen.

She has a very strong memory, enough to "remember everything about everybody in her village and another islands, which she would visit.

Well Organized: She has a secret room under their ship, filled with information on each party she's done and everybody's likes and dislikes and allergies.

I didn't understand if this reader is totally human or totally a pony as such, so I'll do it as if reader were a mix :p

─ You add twice the fun that Luffy seeks to this crew, you and he are like soul mates separated at birth, although you consider yourself much smarter than your captain.

─ Sometimes you have a little competition to see who of the two of you makes the best parties, whether to celebrate a victory in a battle or for the smallest thing, you always look for excuses to celebrate something.

─ Sanji is quite grateful that you help him sometimes in the kitchen, although you only make desserts for the most part, he appreciates that you cook for him from time to time.

─ Robin is the most aware of your powers because she always notices the movements of your ears, eyes or joints, she uses your power for her benefit on more than one occasion when you don't even notice it.

─ Nami always has to stop you when you start talking like a locomotive without brakes, many times she can't understand what you say because of how fast you talk, and you also get stuck from time to time, Chopper tries to help you and gives you some advice to modulate or speak a little slower.

─ Zoro doesn't have a good relationship with your pet, it always seems to bother the swordsman at the least opportune moments or he trips over the poor alligator, just like Usopp, he prefers to keep his distance from Gummy even though it is a fairly calm crocodile within reason.

─ On the contrary, Franky loves that little pet of yours as does Jinbe, they will always have some extra food for Gummy that it will accept with delight, the cyborg doesn't mind that his metal hands are nibbled.

─ You spend some time with Franky and Usopp making or helping with some of their inventions, contributing ideas here and there to improve theirs.

─ Although the vast majority are quite skeptical about your musical moments, Brook is always supporting you from the second you open your mouth to sing, joining you from time to time and adding background music, although he leaves all the dancing and choreography to you.

─ Law is doomed, he can't understand how you have so much energy, as if you were explosions and smiles constantly.

─ Shachi and Penguin adore your cheerful and chaotic personality, it gives that special touch to the seriousness of their captain and makes the days less monotonous.

─ It goes without saying that you form the most dangerous trio (for your captain's mental health) in the entire vast sea.

─ Jean Bart is the number one fan of your cakes, he will accompany you to the end of the world just to get any ingredient you need just to be able to enjoy a good cake or sweet.

─ Ikkaku is your translator when you speak too fast, she manages to catch all your words without problems, she always repeats what you say more slowly for Bepo, who seems to be the one who has the most problems understanding you.

─ You've probably felt disappointed or deflated many times in this crew because of Law, it's not that he wanted to misbehave but his serious demeanor made you think he hated you sometimes which isn't true, as irritating as you could be you were a good addition to the team.

─ Parties aren't a very common thing on the Polar Tang so you have more pressure when it comes to scheduling everything, you make sure to keep track of all the likes and dislikes of the entire crew to convince them to throw parties more often.

─ Law will also take advantage of your little spasms to foresee certain situations.

─ They're not big fans of your pet but Bepo is its biggest supporter just because he can talk to Gummy.

─ Being in this crew is like flipping a coin, sometimes it's one side or the other.

─ Kid usually enjoys all the whirlwind of emotions that you are, your small and ingenious ideas, your inventions… but sometimes you are too positive for him, he can easily get irritated if he is not in the mood for all your effusiveness.

─ Killer will sometimes ask you to calm down a bit because you are being too energetic hitting some enemies, he will offer you to bake to lower your energy a bit, although you seem inexhaustible.

─ Sometimes you are the one who gets irritated, since all these men carry too much negativity, that is why, when you know that something is going to happen, you decide to keep quiet or try to hide the movement of your ears and let that door hit Kid.

─ You love to share some accessories with Wire and you're giving each other little trinkets almost every time you land on a new island, they're usually matching necklaces, rings or earrings.

─ Sometimes you look to the side as if a camera was recording you and you talk to nothing commenting on the situation, Heat thinks it's a little weird but doesn't give it much importance.

─Most of the crew still doesn't understand how you're able to stay a few more seconds in the air before falling off a cliff, they can even see how the vowels of your scream come out of your throat and are projected into the air becoming smaller and smaller.

─ Prepare all your arsenal, because this crew throws the best parties you can find, of course, everything was organized by you and you know that nothing will go wrong because everyone loves to have any excuse to celebrate the smallest thing.

─ As well as taking advantage of the opportunity to do karaoke from time to time just so everyone can see your artistic skills, despite not being big music fans, some people tend to join in singing if they are drunk enough.

─ You have a whole room full of cabinets filled with useful information for parties, this crew is too big but that won't stop you from collecting data.

─ Ace and Gummy don't get along because when Ace falls asleep eating, your alligator eats his food.

─ Thatch always watches you work on your cakes in silence, usually doing his work on the side, sometimes he suggests giving it a personal touch or adding other ingredients that you don't usually use to innovate in your recipes.

─ Izo is very grateful for some of your inventions because they help him with some of his hobbies or training, he is also the one who enjoys your hyperactivity and energy the most.

─ Whitebeard doesn't understand most of the things you say because of the speed of your words, but just by listening to a couple of words he manages to understand you without having to listen to half of the other's sentence.

─ Marco is helping you figure this out, you need to relax when you talk, and breathe more between sentences or you'll choke on your own saliva one day.

─ Everyone is there when you start singing, Izo will do some choruses for you and Ace will dance for you, although his choreography is still poor, you have offered dance classes for anyone who wants to learn.
