oough, that's a very angsty idea.

To be honest though, I believe that they all began their corruption(minus sm) at the same time. It's just that they all succumbed to it at different times. Shadow Milk would definitely be first, followed by Burning spice, Eternal Sugar, Mystic Flour and then finally Silent Salt. Though I am basing this off of the timeline in Request Prompt #13.

Shadow Milk being the first to fall would be because of how long he'd been practicing dark magic beforehand.

Burning Spice would be next due to half Shadow Milk Jester Manipulation, half accidentally destroying a village and enjoying it a little bit.

Eternal Sugar, meanwhile, is kinda going through a burn-out period. Cookies keep coming to her to seek happiness, and she keeps having to give them it whilst pretending that she isn't devastated over what happened to Silent Salt. She's getting more and more tired until eventually, she just succumbs to sloth. Now no longer giving out happiness, but happening to destroy those who come to seek it from her. It's not too long until she's found and recruited by Shadow Milk and Burning Spice.

Mystic Flour is next, faced with the sight of her friends having slowly turned to evil. Would she be next? She was losing more of her will to not give in to the voice of apathy in her head each day. Eternal Sugar's disappearance just sealed the deal. And soon after she had become one of the beasts as well.

And, that leaves us with Silent Salt... After Mystic Flour became a beast he just... showed up and tagged along with them without a single word. They never knew how he felt because he never expressed it, could he even express how he felt anymore? Or was he just... a shell?

What’s the first part of your WIP that you created?

oough that was back in like... 2016? 2014? and i started with the first chapter right away which ended up being the fourth chapter and then became Nothing At All because i have wrecked this thang beyond recognition <3

curtis definitely, i think i get caught up on the details of everyone but he is the most wholly developed and also umm. very similar to me so i love him dearly. he is the worst.

3. What’s something you learned about yourself as a writer?

This is... a long one. TL;DR: It took me a while but I finally, actually internalized that I don't need to set goalposts for myself and consistently move them.

Story's gonna get vulnerable and involve a few other people too. Many of y'all probably saw me go through a whole character arc but I've never really talked about how I felt about this (aside from a couple close friends).

Around July/August, I noticed my readership going down because I had just finished a big writing project and I was moving on to other stuff/trying to figure out what my next big thing was gonna be. I have always always written for myself but ngl, getting lots of consistent engagement and then suddenly not as much anymore made me wonder if I was doing something wrong, if the quality of my works were going down. I vented to a group of friends (including you lmao sorry Juliet) about it and they were like "chill it's the beginning of the semester and people are getting rly busy it's ok" and I was like "yeah makes sense" but nope, I had just plateaued and was dropping off a little for a couple months.

Around the same time, I posted about reaching some sort of milestone and got an anon (maybe well intentioned but it seemed kinda backhanded) that basically said "oh if you ACTUALLY have that many reads that makes you the most popular writer in the cotl fandom. I'm gonna place u above everyone else due to this metric I just kinda invented." And once I noticed my readership had stopped growing and just kinda leveled off/dropped a little bit it made me anxious. Sadly, "keeping others interested" with my writing wasn't really a concern of mine until this started bothering me

I did know that recognition was not the same thing as talent but silly perfectionist brain thought "oough you're the exception btw. you're just not interesting anymore and therefore you're probably not as good anymore lol"

Anyway. October rolls around. I start getting some asks comparing my writing to bamsara's, starting with them mentioning little details that sound very similar but realistically are coincidences because sometimes multiple writers see a theme/motif and we all start chewing it. Anyway, it's obvious that anon is just trying to start shit. Maybe they saw how I'd been kinda beating myself up abt my writing for a little while and tried to make me jealous of them. I don't know. It's probably not worth trying to understand tbh. I just delete the asks. I keep anons on just in case there's a genuine concern.

at this point I'm gonna interrupt to say EVERYTHING TURNS OUT OK I PROMISE and I'm not tagging you in case it's a sore spot but Sara if you're reading this I'm literally so sorry that me learning the lesson I got out of this involved you getting these nasty messages too.

Bam posts something kinda vague about how they get compared to some writers they've never read before. I hope this is a coincidence but alarm bells are going off and I keep this to myself.

Anon keeps doing this every once in a while for a few weeks; at first it looks like anon is accusing bamsara of copying me (???? like i said, we're just exploiting similar themes) and then it starts turning into basically "they're doing everything you're doing but better." Bam obviously hadn't done anything wrong, so I keep supporting them as I do the other writers in the fandom. Eventually the anon gets kinda pissy that I'm not envious or trying to tear someone else down or whatever. I've kept this mostly to myself and they don't like that.

So when they send an ask in mid-November and this had been going on for a few weeks I finally answer an ask to tell them to shut the hell up (gracefully) and then I forget about it and go to sleep. Wake up the next morning and uhhh. See Bam feels like shit because they got a really scathing message. Comments say it happened during a stream and I check it to see if it's the same anon and it is. Fuck on a stick. I literally burn myself out with anger over the next two days until I donate to their kofi as a peace agreement. They reach out and apologize for something they didn't do and it takes me until now to realize that literally nothing I have worried about over the past few months matters at all.

Anyway. It all turns out fine because we become mutuals and hype each other up. Kicker is, whoever it was forgot to turn off anon in Bam's askbox so we got to block them and I'm pretty sure they deactivated too lmao. I reached out to a bunch of writer friends and checked in with them to violently spread positivity and I've been trying to violently spread positivity as much ever since. Yay. Happy ending but sucks that this had to happen for me to crush my anxiety. Bam and I are buddies now and I've also befriended many more writers since, too. cotl writers we are unionizing.

It's been a while since we've talked about kin stuff, so we're gunna do this for fun!

We broadly identify as a spiritual, psychological, and somewhat physical otherkin or alterhuman. Some of our parts are specifically nonhuman or therian.

Because this varies widely across our system, our collective specifically identifies as a constelic polymorph. Our hosts are robotkin, alienkin, and dragonkin. We've also got some foxes, a springtime conceptkin, horses, ethereal beings - all kinds of craziness xD

We gets shifts all the time, and all kinds. Mental shifts, phantom shifts, all of the above. Our most common shifts are the alien shifts, hands down, but again, that's because that's what one of our hosts is. I don't know if I'd say we really get cameo shifts, since we're a polymorph. None of our shifts have ever really been surprising.

Oough, this question is tricky to answer without giving it its own post. All of our parts experience their otherkinity in at least slightly different ways, so it always feels different depending on who's out and about, and it's hard for me to remember how it feels exactly if they're not co-con with me.

For the most part, the otherkin, alterhuman, and nonhuman community is fabulous! Everyone's so friendly and helpful and supportive. If we're being completely honest though, the only negative interactions we've had have been exclusively with the therian community. There are a lot of rather gatekeep-y folks in that community that seem to expect you to have one specific kind of experience, or else you're not welcome. We're definitely not saying all therians are like that, but we've encountered a number of them who are, so we tend to be a little wary on that side of Tumblr :')

Again, it's hard to answer for our entire collective, but I know some of us like subtle roleplay, listening to certain music, wearing certain accessories or gear, and being out in nature. It's little things that make us feel whole.

Not always, luckily, no. We certainly do sometimes though, and it's very uncomfortable. It depends on who's fronting and our general mental state.

Don't take it too seriously. There is no one way to be otherkin or alterhuman or a therian or nonhuman or whatever. Your experience is unique and wonderful, don't let anyone convince you you're not allowed to identify a certain way.

We do have some! We have some horns, and also cat ears and a tail, although we don't use them super often because we live with family and we're shy :') Eventually we reeeeally want some digitigrade hoof shoes, but they're so expensive :'D

Oh geeez, another super hard question xD A lot of our otherkinity is certainly psychological, with trauma and autism being the main components, that's easy. We have a lot of spiritual beliefs around it too, but it takes some prefacing to explain, and it'd be hard to do here without just going into a big ramble.

best movie? no. room for improvement? yes. a really good movie overall and the characters were good and made overall good/decently logical choices? absolutely.

 fin good. i love him. and the obvious hint he can use the force is 10/10 he did so much work in this movie. i like poe/fin or rey/fin. or all three together, fuck it, they all hugged in the end anyways

poe is good he’s a good boy him and finn are so good. poe gets a lot of development and care and we love that he struggles but loves his friends and wins in the end by believing in others to come. (he did think they lost but only for a second. he was proven right that people would come. thanks lando we appreciate you here.)

rey is amazing and her growth/struggle is great i love that she’s a palpatine that’s so metal. and she stays good oough yess. palpatine wins in the end? or at least A palpatine? the only survivor? no more sith OR jedi. just. rey palpatine and any other new force users like fin. FINALLLY, evil wins! kinda lmao hahhaahhaha

i like how technically the series stared with palpatine and ended with rey. 

it started with a slave child in the desert (anakin) who became dark, and ended with a child soldier in the dark who became light at the end (ben)

(though i guess by the end she is neither sith nor jedi)

plus he made an armada in secret the man was geared for success and had access to cloning tech too, as shown by snoke. if he couldnt have rey, he would have cloned himself or some shit. he has space voodoo, the man is scary and i love him for it.

ben was. ok. kylo was much more intimidating and straight forward with his actions at least. and ben switching sides made sense. what i didnt like was his ending very much. why tf did he and rey kiss????? they were enemies for 2 and 3/4 movies. they didnt even speak until he showed up to help fight palpatine. 

there is a bit of tension but not romantic whatever, he just poofed once he resurrected rey anyways. rip all skywalkers 2019

side tangent bc i’ve been seeing some fans crying over ben’s death, which i get it if you are a big fan of him:

im like, oh, he’s gonna climb up bc of course he’s fine and then save her since he saw her use force healing, so he’s gonna try it. he’s resurrecting the dead so it’s either gonna kill him or really make him weak. we got the former so. yeah. it was anticipated kinda. leia dying was much more emotional for me i guess. the love between her and her son was way more impactful than ben and rey. 

like i said!! they were enemies for so long!! he tried to reach out, but he was a slimey dark side bitch who was trying to convert her and she knew it and wasnt down with that shit!! that aint romantic ya’ll!! christ! he was only good for 20 minutes before he died and they didnt even talk before he just showed up! if they had more time really getting into it and if he was good and reached out to her to talk, that would have been way better and more convincing is all im saying. 

sure they fought together on snoke’s ship and talked, but it was still very. scary for rey. and then he attacked her friends and rebellion again! bitch, why did she kiss him!?

nothing against reylo shippers, i really dont care, that’s your business, i personally enjoy fin/rey much more, im just saying it seems forced in this situation. they tried to kill each other so many times. that’s animosity, not love.))

WHERE WAS ANAKIN AND OBI FORCE GHOST UGH. at least we got all of the voices of the jedi past helping rey in the climax that was awesome (including jin, obi, yoda, anakin, luke, leia, ect)

yeah also rip leia. she should have died in the second movie but she was good in this and it really hit the feels since carrie is... dead for real.

luke was good in this!!!! helpful boy!!! nice boy!!! i liked the flash back to when he trained leia it was so sweet to see them young again, if only for a moment.

the han solo scene was good ough my heart. 

all of the character’s choices were overall good and made sense in the scheme of things, everything was streamlined bc it had to be.

it kinda felt like 2 movies crammed into 1 but it kinda worked and that makes sense bc of TLJ’s.... choices and changes in direction. 

i dont think this movie was a train wreck. it’d place it as my 3rd fav star wars movie. for now, i may shift things around but you get the idea.

When I tried to play a violin, the sound I got was scratchy, so my teacher suggested I play a cello because we didn't have any in our age group. Lo and behold, not only did I get a better sound out of it, but I got second chair and got to play with upperclassmen before we moved and I had to drop it. My second instrument was a trombone. (I know... I know.) I tried to play a flute first, but couldn't get a steady sound out of it even after like two weeks of lessons... It was so humiliating. The band only had one other trombone though, so... My teacher handed me one and asked me to give it a try. In two months I made second chair and got my first solo part- "If I Only Had A Brain" in a Wizard of Oz medley because I could play OBNOXIOUSLY LOUD. I loved that stupid trombone, but I dropped it too because I didn't wanna do marching band, which was obligatory past 8th grade or something. Lame. 
•   Aside from playing and dropping goofyass instruments that are literally bigger than me yet still miraculously portable, I also got it in me to teach myself piano well enough to play the Tetris Theme and parts of Clair de Lune before getting bored with it because I... never actually had a piano to play on. I just downloaded a shitton of free piano key apps, taught myself what the keys were and how to read the music, and went on to try and play them on my iPad. My screen was a little too tiny to go and try to play anything more complicated than that- anything where the notes were more than 10 keys apart were kind of a hassle. So I stopped... C'est la vie. 
•   One time a friend told me she liked my singing and I was so flattered and appreciative of the comment that I cried. I'm a functional human being, who knows what to do with taking compliments and accepting positivity, AND FURTHERMORE...

•   HOW LONG (MONTHS / YEARS?): Ah... 6-7 years by now, I think! It feels like it's been a long time. 2 years for this blog!

Happiness Charge Precure, Iona Hikawa. my second favourite pretty cure, but my favourite season so... HER. I loved that she was a pretty cure who did not want to work with the others. very rare for magical girl shows from what I've seen. has good backstory and a really good arc and her learning to forgive Hime and become best buddies is so (≧∇≦)ﾉ

Mr. Men, Mr. Bump. he's a self explanatory little guy. lives right up to his name in being clumsy in extremely comical ways you couldn't make up, but its his resilience and going "oops, silly me!" and getting right back up or going "um, I need a hand" that wins me over. I wonder if he has a reserved room in the Happyland Hospital....

OHSHC, Tamaki Suoh. MY FAVOURITE GUY OF ALL TIME. OH MY GOSH I could ramble on about him for ages. I've realised I absolutely love the type of guy who seems so suave and cool when you meet him but is a LOSER™️, and I blame Tamaki for my love of that trait <3. but its also his undying love for people and the world and sheer optimism and ray of sunshine-ness, and his stupidity. the stupidity's always good too <3

Pokemon, Steven Stone. My F/O, and the handsomest guy I've ever seen what can I say <3. he's an autistic little dork and so charming, I would listen to him ramble about rocks and crystals all day. and he gave me a new appreciation of the Metagross line, love those funky little robots now.

Sonic, Amy Rose. she is PINK. and so so kind and the sweetest while also being a tough badass and I mean, who doesn't love little girls with weapons bigger than them. I think she and Winry Rockbell should be best friends.

Tenkai Knights, Ceylan Jones. He's a funny jokester. a silly little guy. you're gonna have beef with a little guy? for shame (quote). the second I saw him in the show I knew he'd be my favourite because he was sitting there leaning back in his chair cracking stupid jokes. But he's also a stupid little kid who's too full of himself and also kinda sorta very gay so like. instant fave.

Arthur, Buster Baxter. absolute DORK. I love his silly naivety to believe everything everyone tells him ("you really think that? that people would go on the internet and tell lies?") and he's also a silly jokester. my favourite episode of the entire show is that one where he tries to sell chocolates but lacks self control so eats them all and has to learn how to make new ones. there's something SO neurodivergent about this kid and I can't get enough of him. and he loves space too so 🤝

Sesame Street, Murray Monster. my 100% definite least common fave on this list. idk something about him just. is so comforting. he just rocks up with his little sheep, goes travelling around to different places, teaches kids fun science stuff while they teach him about different jobs, and he fails at all of them cause he's silly and dumb <3. and he's so optimistic about it and his joy is contagious. and how he hardly lasted on the show before his performer quit just makes him even more of an enigma to me and makes me OOUGH

Rainbow Magic, Jae the Boy Band Fairy. Charles the Coronation Fairy isn't real and can't hurt you, Jae is the only boy fairy to me, and because I automatically love every token boy character in any show he's instant fave. and his design with the letterman jacket and ripped jeans is SO gender to me. his story was honestly so fun as well, most Rainbow Magic stories nowadays feel a bit samey but his felt different. Maybe its just me lol. but I love this funky little fairy dude

Also, you don't need to put Fink in the dating sim. If they're a self-insert, I'd prefer not to have them there. It just makes it weird since they're basically just a real person placed into a fictional world. Sorry for being all like, "Oough I wanna skateboard with them," and mentioning that I thought they were a character. That wasn't a good move on my part and I should've done better. Don't force yourself to work to make your fans happy, please. Do what makes you happy. Working to make the fans happy as opposed to making yourself happy will make it all seem like a chore. Also, I'm not good with tone so I may have misinterpreted your reblog and the tags, so sorry if this takes it the wrong way.

i feel bad for people who get REALLy really attached to an anime girl from like. a really obscure probably not very good one off dating sim with like... no merch. but they like her just as much as the most popular one. that sucks man i'm sorry i hope she becomes real and you can get married.
