Malon and her son - potential AU???
Locks fair and unruly as the wheat fields in spring.
Eyes bright and lively as a raging current.
She had gone to sleep right beside him, as she would every evening. She had kissed him good-night and snuggled up close, allowing him to embrace her as they dozed off together.
The next evening, Malon would find herself cradling her husband’s limp body in her arms.
Locks smooth and pale as sand on an untouched beach.
Eyes soft and wide and brighter than the sky itself.
She could see him in her son’s smile and hear him in his laughter. The boy’s eyes carried the same undying curiosity as his late father’s.
Perhaps that curiosity could explain why one morning, she would wake to the sound of an instrument she hadn’t heard in years. At first, the melody sounded uncertain and hesitant, but as the song went on, the notes became steadier, firmer. An instrument, tucked away in the attic only to have been rediscovered by the tiny hands of a child. A melody, familiar yet long forgotten.
She could see him in the little ways her son interacted with the world around him. His little ticks and mannerisms, the facial expressions. His love for horses, his affinity for plants and trees. She could hear him in the way he spoke, carefully but with enthusiasm and purpose. And now, in the music he would play for her. More often than not, she would find her son with the trusty instrument pressed against his lips.
And she welcomed it. She let the music fill the ranch with life and spirit once again.

Note
since your saying that requests are open mind if I request something spicy with reader and a Zelda (can be any of them) and a pinch of angst?
Doesn't need to be explicit NSFW (I wouldn't be opposed to it tho 👀), something along the lines of reader and Zelda having been friends for a while then they share their first kiss and things evolve from there. The angst comes from reader not being part of the nobility so their friendship with Zelda is already risky and would be frowned upon if anyone else found out, so let alone kissing the princess so intimately and confessing to romantic feelings about her.
hope all that made sense 😅 you see what you change or not if needed, thank you in advance!
Edit: Posted the clenaed up, revised rewritten version on Ao3 here.
Hi anon! Sorry it took a while, I chose the OoT Zelda in the child timeline, changed some details (or interpreted them in my way) but not as much. I wrote Fem!Reader as you did not specify, I hope it's okay and to your liking!
If you are interested in what happens after the ending here, let me know >:3 Maybe I do complete it to the.. ehem... climax, one day.
For Tonight
Pairing: Fem!Reader x Zelda (OoT) Warning: Angst, no comfort. My first shot at something like this too. Still mature content, but not that much of an explicit NSFW. Minors dni. Typo warning. This is NOT proof-read. I am impatient ;-;
You were walking through the palace corridors with a big stack made of papers and books, barely able to see ahead, trying to make your way into the palace library. Where the fuck were the palace couriers to help you when you needed them? You were mumbling to yourself.
In the midst of your internal mutterings, a sudden collision jolted you, causing the contents of your armful to cascade to the ground in a chaotic disarray. Frustration welled up within you as you looked up to see who had been the unfortunate target of your clumsiness, and unsurprisingly, it was none other than Princess Zelda herself.
“Woah, you have such a scary look on your face, please mercy oh the mighty scholar!”
The princess spoke with a feigned shock in her face, then burst out into laughter as she started to help you collect the papers on the floor, much to your shock.
“Zel! What are you doing? What if somebody sees you?” you whisper shouted at her as you scanned your surroundings.
Well, it was just Zel to you, when nobody else was around.
You also started to collect the papers and kept motioning her to stand up. You locked gazes with her for a moment, drinking the sea that was her blue eyes. Your eyes couldn’t help but drift near her cleavage, making a redness creep into your face. You really hoped she thought it was because of your earlier fit of fury. You bit your lip.
She just softly smiled at you, and continued speaking.
“It’s okay, I spoke to Impa and this wing of the castle is cleared due to ceremonial purifications that’s going to take place,” she smirked at you. You facepalmed. That explained why the courier was not there to help you when you arrived. The King was visiting Zora’s domain; it was known that the princess also had “religious duties” due to her ancestry. Since she was practically in charge when the King was gone, she pulled stunts like this every now and then, so you could hang out in peace.
You didn’t even argue anymore as you sighed as you chuckled, you just adored her smile when she looked this happy, the way dimples appeared in her cheeks,  which was a rare occurrence.
The two of you had been inseparable since childhood. From your early days as the daughter of the palace scribe to your current role as the palace historian, you were always there when the princess was receiving her education. You were the closest thing she had to a “classmate”, since she wasn’t allowed to go to school like the rest of the children. The King, seeing how happy her daughter was with having a friend like you, allowed you to attend to her during her studies. Over the years, you were always there for each other, sharing secrets, spending time, learning new things together.
Much to the dismay of the other nobles, of course, especially after Zelda’s 15th birthday. Scholar or not, you were just a commoner that lived in the palace, even worse, in their eyes you even were a bad influence (when you were kids) to the princess, making her sneak out of the palace to play with weird kids.
Hah, as if it wasn’t always her idea in the first place. Plus, Impa always kept a watch on you both.
You were guessing it wasn’t only because of the child shenanigans, but the way you looked at Zelda as well.
Of course, she didn’t have a gloom of air around her back then.
Your thoughts lingered on that vivid memory, etched deep within your soul. It was a day when a forest-clad boy, garbed in resplendent emerald green, had ventured into the palace courtyard. Princess Zelda had watched with unblinking fascination as the Gerudo chief, Ganondorf, exchanged words with her father, the benevolent King of Hyrule.
It was a child, but one bearing an uncanny foresight that sent shivers down your spine even now. He had delivered a grave warning, one that would alter the course of history. And you and Zelda had been there, witnesses to his proclamation.
Since that day, you had been there for Zelda, especially during the trying years that followed. You had watched as her once-vibrant spirit underwent a transformation, first gradually, then with ever-increasing intensity. After that fateful encounter, she had started experiencing visions—glimpses of both the past and future. Visions that didn't seem to belong to her personally from now, but were undeniably hers. A future of horrors that did not happen. She told you all about it as she cried on your shoulders. Your heart broke.
Recalling those turbulent times, you couldn't help but feel the weight of her burden. It was a burden she had borne with grace and strength, even as it gradually eclipsed the cheerful girl you once knew, leaving behind someone who carried the weight of destiny like a heavy cloak. Yet, you still admired her, perhaps even more now, for her resilience and unwavering determination in the face of a destiny she didn’t choose but embraced with unwavering resolve. And even though you knew she could put on a facade of cheerfulness for you, you appreciated the moments when she allowed her true self to shine through the cracks of her burdened existence.
So yes, you were going to shut up and let her do whatever for now.
You had decided to keep a low profile and let Zelda handle her royal responsibilities for now. Ever since she came of age, the palace nobles, and even the King, had become overly sensitive about your friendship with her. You vividly remembered a time when he had nearly reprimanded her for being too familiar with commoners, a far cry from what was expected of a princess. Even if Zelda didn’t realize, the nobles were certainly aware.
After that incident, her schedule became inundated with temple duties. However, given your proficiency as the palace historian, you still found ways to cross paths with her. But the formalities were now taken to the extreme, with a constant presence of chaperones ensuring everyone stuck to their roles. Sneaking into her room late at night or arranging brief meetings between guard shift changes had become the norm. To an outsider, it might have seemed like the meetings of secret lovers rather than two friends trying to share a conversation.
Occasionally, opportunities like this arose when the King was absent, and Zelda took charge of ceremonial affairs. It allowed you to convene in the tearoom of that secluded wing, with Impa discreetly keeping watch to ensure no unexpected guests interrupted your meeting.
_____
“You know somebody is going to notice at some point that those purifications are just us purifying our throats with tea and gossip,” you mused as you brought the teacup to your lips.
Zelda chuckled softly, her eyes meeting yours over the rim of her teacup. How you wanted to be that teacup right now.
"Oh, I'm sure they already have their suspicions," she replied with a mischievous glint in her eyes, as she leaned down a bit more than usual towards you to pick up the piece of sugar. You gulped. "But it's the palace, and gossip is a currency as valuable as rupees. Besides, I think they secretly envy us at our little tea gatherings."
As you laughed in the secluded tearoom, you and Zelda shared a moment of respite from the world outside. The unspoken bond between you had always been a well-guarded secret. The palace's nobles frowned upon your friendship, and your secret meetings had become a necessity to maintain the facade of formality that royalty demanded. If only they knew your true feelings.
Yet, in these stolen moments, you couldn't help but notice the stark contrast between the princess's public persona and the genuine warmth she reserved for you. Outside, she exuded an air of regality, concealing the weight of her royal responsibilities with practiced grace. But with you, there was no need for pretense. She was herself, her true self, a side of her that was never meant to be revealed to anyone else. You didn’t want anyone else to see it either. Her perfectly heart shaped face, deep sapphire eyes and lovely blonde locks.
The tea room's tranquility was disrupted by the knock of Impa, and you knew your time was running short. With a reluctant smile, you set down your teacup.
"It seems our tea time is coming to an end," you remarked, your tone betraying a hint of disappointment. Each time, each time this happened, something cracked in you. One day, it was going to break, you thought to yourself.
Zelda nodded, her eyes holding a mixture of gratitude and longing. Impa was right behind you.
"Until next time, my friend," she replied, a softness in her voice that was reserved only for you. Friend, of course. No way it could be anything more.
___
When the night fell, you finally got back to your room, rejoicing that tomorrow you could finally relax a bit. The King was still away, and Zelda abused her powers once again to make it a “rest day” for some of the staff, including her. She was going to get caught one day.
As you laid back on your bed that night, you shamefully thought back to the moment you dropped the books. The glance you got to her bosom. It wasn’t anything you haven’t seen before, you have seen her plenty of times as the maids were dressing her up, but she would at least be in her corset.
From the panic of the moment and then lured into the sweet conversation, you haven’t thought about it until now.
She wasn’t wearing a corset under that dress. And then in the tearoom she was leaning in a way that-
Oh. Oh.
How dense were you? But that surely wasn’t intentional, was it? She even called you friend.
That didn’t stop you from imagining what you could have been doing instead of drinking tea in that room. Cupping her face, pulling her closer. Making her straddle you on that sofa. A warmth spread to your core. Could have would have should have…
It was unbearable. You wanted to tell her, you wanted to feel her close.
But that would have no future. She had her duties. You would have to leave if it ever came out.
Your hand slowly went down to your thighs under your short nightgown, barely covering your hips, towards your bundle of nerves. You never wore underwear to bed.
And it wasn’t the first time you were doing this as you imagined her. It was going to be another lonely night, where you seek release to sleep, imagining yourself in her arms.
___
Maybe an hour or two had passed after you finally went to sleep. You opened your eyes as you heard your window… getting tapped? As the haziness of sleep was still with you, it took you a moment to realize it was Zelda, in her… Sheikah clothing. You occasionally made fun of her, naming her “Sheik”. You clumsily got out of your bed and silently opened the window, letting her in.
“My my, if it isn’t Sheik,” you teasingly whispered, looking at her figure perfectly highlighted by her outfit under the moonlight shining through your window.
"Ah, hush," she retorted with a playful smirk, removing her mask as she stepped further into the room. The moonlight painted her features with a soft glow, accentuating the beauty that had always captivated you. As she half threw herself on your bed, her legs still touching the floor yet her upper body flushed, you panicked internally, hoping she wasn’t close to the mini damp spot you might have caused on the sheets…A hint of a blush touched her cheeks, partially concealed by the shadows. Her eyes met yours, and for a moment, it felt like time itself had frozen. You decided to not give in to your paranoia, and realizing the gloomy state she is in, decided to try to cheer her up instead.
"Couldn't sleep?" you teased, a playful smile tugging at your lips.
She hesitated for a second before responding, "No, I... I needed to talk to someone."
“You know I’m here for you, always, come on get cozy,” you said as you moved onto the bed as well, making her put her legs up as you leaned to the bedframe and placed her head on your lap. You started caressing her hair as she closed her eyes, as you always did when she felt down. She didn’t know how you were melting inside, to her, it was surely a friendly gesture…
“Is it those weird vision dreams again?” you asked.
The gentle motion of your fingers through Zelda's hair seemed to relax her as she nodded slowly. "Yes," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "They're becoming more vivid, more real. And they're not just glimpses of the past or a future unlived anymore; I feel like I'm living someone else's life in those moments."
You couldn't help but admire how her eyelashes cast delicate shadows on her cheeks as she spoke, her vulnerability drawing you in even further. You'd been friends for so long, and yet, tonight felt different, like the air was charged with unspoken emotions.
"Have you told anyone about this, you know to the priestesses, that they were getting more intense?" you inquired, your thumb gently brushing her cheek.
Zelda sighed and opened her eyes, her gaze meeting yours. "No, I can't. They already think I'm strange enough as it is, with my overindulgence in scholarly pursuits and all."
You couldn't resist a teasing grin. "Well, I happen to like your scholarly pursuits…” Thanks to them I see you a little bit more, you wanted to say but stopped yourself. Instead you continued “They're part of what makes you so..."
You stopped yourself short, realizing you were about to tread on dangerous ground. But Zelda's curiosity was piqued, and she raised an eyebrow. "So what?" she prompted, her lips curving into a small, playful smile.
Your heart raced as you met her gaze, the unspoken tension between you growing more palpable with each passing moment. "So... captivating," you admitted, your voice barely a whisper.
Zelda's smile widened, and she let out a soft chuckle. "Captivating, huh? I'll take that as a compliment."
"It was meant as one," you replied, your fingers still gently caressing her hair. The room felt smaller, the air warmer.
She shifted slightly, now sitting on the bed, her eyes never leaving yours. "You know," she began, her voice a low, sultry murmur, "you have a way of making me forget about everything else when you're around."
Your heart skipped a beat, and you leaned in closer without realizing in the dimly lit room. "Funny," you whispered, "because you have a way of making me want to forget about everything else too."
Zelda paused. Did you go too far? The residual wetness between your legs from an hour ago was making itself known once again as the distance between you and her was a little bit less than before. You were painfully aware of the short nightgown you were wearing, rubbing your now slightly more sensitive nipples. Zelda visited you like this every now and then but something was different today.
Something was different tonight.
“Indeed, there are things I’d rather forget about, especially now…” she repeated in a whisper. You became aware where her gaze was. She was staring at your… lips? Her cheeks were a lovely shade of pink, making her look even more enticing than she was. One of her hands very discreetly and hesitantly found itself near your leg. Too close.
The atmosphere in the room was electric, charged with a potent mixture of desire and longing. Zelda's presence, her nearness, was intoxicating, and you couldn't deny the magnetic pull between you two. With her hand inching closer to your leg and your lips mere inches apart, the tension in the room reached its breaking point.
You both knew that crossing this line would forever change your friendship, but it felt inevitable, like the culmination of years of unspoken emotions.
“Zel…” you whispered as you slowly felt her gaze on every single part of your body, making you shudder. “We.. we can’t, you are the princess and…”
Zelda's fingers, now just a breath away from your leg, trembled slightly. Her eyes met yours, and you could see the turmoil of emotions within them. The vulnerability and longing were unmistakable, but so was the understanding of the complexity of your situation.
“Tonight, I'm just a Sheikah warrior…” the words somehow got out of her, you could feel her tears coming, barely audible. Your heart shattered, and as Zelda's hand brushed against your thigh, whatever self restraint you had then had just been thrown out of the window.
You closed the distance between you, and pulled her hesitantly into a soft kiss. Her lips were so soft, inviting and warm and she actually responded eagerly. Her fingers were tracing delicate patterns on your thighs as your tongue traced a gentle line on her bottom lip.
The world outside faded away, leaving only the two of you, lost in a sea of sensations and emotions.
When you finally broke the kiss, your breaths were heavy, and your hearts pounded in unison. Zelda's eyes met yours, and in that moment, all the unspoken words and hidden feelings were laid bare. You didn’t want to talk, you didn’t want this moment to end. She understood.
Because when tonight ended, you didn’t know if you could still face her again and live in the castle, knowing you would never be able to have her in the manner you wanted.
She would be married to another noble to produce more royal heirs, and you would slowly wilt away in the royal libraries.
You wouldn’t be able to live like that.
So for tonight, you just wanted to feel her. Drink in her essence.
For tonight, you clung to each other, finding solace in the knowledge that, in this stolen moment, you could be together, if only in the most intimate and ephemeral of ways.

I recently remembered a roleswap AU involving OOT link and Ganondorf
What if child ganondorf is the reluctant hero and a sociopathic kokiri link is the villain who wants to take over hyrule into a dark forest?:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I would turn this into a fanfic if i wasnt so unqualified to be an author and had more free time but i got the main points jotted.
Ganon:
Originally wanted to form the alliance with the king of hyrule to backstab him in the future and marry his daughter to become king of hyrule after what he did in the gerudo-hylian war.
Plan to gain the trust of princess zelda by following her delusion that hyrule "will be conquered by a forest child if he doesn't"
After 3 stones were gathered, he stood in front of the gate just to see impa and zelda being chased out from the castle by the soldiers. Impa being accused of murdering the king. While this is happening, ganon noticed something strange about the soldiers but couldn't be bothered but run to the temple of time
Events of OOT happens naturally up to the moment he wakes up from 7 years
Sheik tells ganon what the world outside is like: the overworld is filled with forest with similar magic of the lost woods, anyone who get lost in there is either turned into a stalfos or a skullkid, those that met the child himself will be implanted with a mind control parasite with the shape of an eyeball. Death mountain and kakariko village worked together to become a safe haven for the people of hyrule. The gerudo has sworn allegiance towards the kokiri child after thinking their prince has left them, in exchange, the kokiri child conjured an oasis in their desert.
Ganon doesn't believe sheik that last part, and ventured to gerudo valley himself, he was then met with anger and feelings of betrayal from his people for supposedly peaving them. He was thrown in the dungeon and sheik breaks him out, ganon feels hopeless as he felt he was not worthy of being their leader after abandoning his people.
Sheik tells ganon that it wasn't his fault, [ i truly forgot how i imagine sheik convincing ganon to not lose hope ._.]
Sheik guided ganon to kakariko village and told him to get a hookshot
Events up until fighting link is relatively the same[ sheik axts as a guide for ganon in the forest overworld]
He will evolve from someone who only cares about his people into someone who cares about the people of Hyrule after seeing them suffer
Link:
A kokiri without fairy, His very presence drives fairies away from him. This unknown condition left him as an outcast
Fairies act as a kokiri conscience, telling right from wrong.
But his unknown condition also led him to be able to make monsters, boss monsters takes a lot of energy to make.
He wanted to go outside the kokiri forest but knows that he wont survive a couple days. There isn't any forest magic outside to sustain him long.
Link forcefully took the kokiri emerald (an item that could sustain him in the outside world)
Events of oot relatively stays the same

hi does anyone want to read the vocaloid au WIP i made while feeling emo and edgy
"Can machines feel love?" That is the question i ask myself every day. If we, who dont serve further purpose in this world, can "think", then can we love? Humans can feel "love", but what makes them able to? Is it their skin? Their bones? Their flesh? Their very composition? Ever since we were in the place they developed us at, I was researching human behaviors and phenomena. I wanted to get a better idea of what "love" was like.
"I" and the others were made artificially. Are our feelings "real"?
Is the fact that im here in the first place a testament of my "love" for the others?
I finally get up from the cold, dark ground and look straight ahead of me. I see darkness, the same as its been for years at this point. I close my eyes, or maybe I open them, telling the difference between the dark of my eyes and the darkness of the outside is getting rather difficult. I see something from the distance, a faint blue light. I blink again, 'are my eyes playing tricks on me?". I rub my eyes; i feel tears emerging from the sides of my eyes. The light is still there. I feel my eyes widening as i instincly start running towards the source of the light. I silently wisper, "It cant be...!"
Its supposed to be someone but i purposefully didn't say who the speaker was
Most of the vocaloids radiate blue light though right???? Like uh....

Chapter two of my Cinderella-ish au is out! (I don’t know if I posted the other two here. embarrassing) Read it on AO3!
<><><><><>
The lantern by her desk is burning low. There’s hardly enough light to see the little pages in front of her anymore and she knows she should retire for the evening before Impa scolds her for her bedtime habits, but the mystery before her has a hold on her like no other. Just a few hours after dinner, Zelda had traversed back to the library. It’s not like her to be so forgetful, but her mind has been clouded as of late with her piling to-do list. She had forgotten a book during her earlier visit and was forced to return to the shelves a second time–and that was when her foot nudged something beneath the shelf. The library was empty, save for her, and so she had the freedom to crouch and see what it was. It would just be cruel to leave a fallen book behind like that, especially one that had been kicked aside to gather dust and never appear again. Except, where she’d expected a title to be, there was nothing. It was only a small, leather-bound journal, probably something personal. Hundreds of people went in and out of the library daily; there was no way for her to guess who it might’ve belonged to. She inspected the covers for a name, an engraved initial, any sort of hint, but…there was none. Clearly, whoever this belonged to had no intention of losing it.
Her curiosity had gotten the best of her. There had to be a name somewhere, right? Surely a thumb through of the pages wouldn’t be too terrible of an idea. She would pay little attention to the contents, search only for a name–and, well, that was exactly the kind of plan that led her to where she is now. The author of the journal writes in graphite. It’s curious; anyone in the castle would have access to pens and ink, yet this author seems to prefer a pencil. Sketches line several of the pages, and Zelda thinks she recognizes plenty of their subjects. There’s Impa, and there’s her father, and one of the servers that brings her meal trays to her, and the armor of the knights, and the Hyrulean crest. There are several of her as well, and she can’t help but feel flattered. They’re detailed and well done. The owner of the journal must be some kind of artist at heart. Yet, what catches her eye the most isn’t the drawings. The pages are filled with poetry; original pieces of this person’s soul. They’re personal, and she knows she shouldn’t be reading them like this. If anyone were to ever read her own diary, Zelda knows she would feel incredibly violated–but that doesn’t stop her. Not when each title makes her breath catch and each stanza makes her cheeks flush. Continue on AO3

Malon with the blunt "No" in the first excerpt lmaooooo 💯 Also that premise for the forest excerpt sounds super interesting 👀👀👀
Rules: In a new post use the words below (or choose your own) to find where they appear in your WIP/s and share those parts.
Thanks for the tag @mailrebel, @nocturnalfandomartist and @ladyhoneydee! This is going to have all the words I've been assigned to catch up jejeje
My words are sky, forest, miss, spirit, demon, hope, insult, grass, perfect.
Sky
This one is from an au with @aheavenscorner where Link and Zelda reconcile in their afterlife but Link still has some unresolved feelings over the send back. The best way I can describe their relationship is divorced yet still are the only people they can trust with their deepest fears and are visibly pining for each other energy (dw they get together again after a lot of communication and teamwork and help from friends/family, mainly from Malon)
He listened to every word she said and each was another strike of reality that stung more than the demon claw. She was right, this house was not all her. The wood was the same from the Kokiri forest he had called home, the bed was big enough for two and from what he peeked at the kitchens and living room the bed was not the only item made for two. This was not her home, but theirs. Her next words made him glare at her. What exactly was she insuniating?! He had no idea why the realm had done these conditions. But a small voice in his head protested, whipered the same words she did, words he had tried to silence. You know why, you can’t hide behind the mask any longer. Her rose up, hands clenched and shaking. "Well nice to know we'll be torturing ourselves instead," he bit back. He had to leave, he couldn’t stay here any longer. Pushing past her highness, Link stormed out the door without another word. The world of the dead was so uncannily familiar he felt as if he'd lived here since birth. The grass, the sky, the scents and sounds it was all resembling the mortal world and yet there was still a whisper of magic and death in the air. He continued his path down the road, ignoring the passing greetings from spirits, his only focus was his rampant thoughts. You're still denying the truth even as it slaps you in the face, how long will you run? Shut up! I don't love her anymore, she's the one who made my life miserable so why would I stay there. Still clinging to that old excuse? Still running from your feelings and past like you did all these centuries. Face the reality Link; you cannot hide when the realm can see. He nearly crashed into the sudden opening of the door had he not looked up in time. "Wha!" He cried out as the owner of the home hugged him tight. "Its about damn time you got here!" spoke out a familiar voice that let him go once he tapped for air. "I thought we were gonna need to wait another century with how you been doing." "Ha ha very funny Malon." The redhead woman merely grinned at him. It felt nice reunite with an old friend, at least once that didn't make him wanna run or feel hurt from his past. "Actually I need a favor from you." "Yea what's up?" "Do you think I can stay here-" "No."
Forest
This one is another au with heaven lol (most of these will be) Where Link and Zelda had a relationship after his return from Termina, but left for a mission only to return to see that Zelda no longer remembers him (she's under a spell)
His heart drops. The dread seeps into every corner of his being, like shadows snuffing out the light; any hope he had is gone. She did not remember him... And he didn’t know why. He spelled out his name, slowly so she could catch it. His eye caught on to the Moon Tear hanging around her neck, and he fought back tears. She still kept his gift, kept his promise. So then why was he a stranger? How did you get in here? She had said those words before, years ago. He had ben merely a boy fresh from the forest and following the Deku Tree's final wish. The second had been more somber, fresh from war and broken from its horrors, all he wished was for a familiar face to recognize him. And now he was a partner, returning from his mission to greet his beloved only to be met with the same words of the past. "I was given permission." That wasnt a total lie, but the next words would be. "I'm here because General Haddock instructed me to tell you that I'm your newly appointed knight."
Miss
From my Hallmark au with oot zelink. Crossing fingers I'll finish it in time for the holidays.
“Oh my goddesses I am so sorry! Are you alright?” The woman groaned in pain, rubbing her shoulder. She looked no older than he was; dressed in a lilac overcoat with a beanie that fell onto the snow and a scarlet scarf that covered her face. Link frantically got up, extending a helping hand as she arose. She adjusted herself, striking opal eyes boring into his own accompanied by a warm smile. He silently gulped, she was beautiful. “I’m quite alright. It’s my fault for not looking as well.” Her voice was sweet as honey, ringing like a symphony to his ears. “Where are you headed in such a rush?” “The castle,” he replied, anxiously checking the time- he still had time. “It’s my first day in the kitchens and I don’t want to be late, but I’ve never been to Castle Town before so I’m kind of lost.” She blinked in surprise. “Oh really?” Link nodded, unaware to the growing crowd around them whispering amongst themselves. “Allow me to escort you there then. I’m very familiar with this area of the city,” she offered her hand and he gladly accepted. He followed her to a winding path away from onlookers, hidden from the public. A shortcut? He guessed. “It will be much quicker if we go through here,” she explained. “I can vouch for you once we arrive within the castle.” “Thank you so much, you have no idea how grateful I am.” The stranger simply smiled, growing Link to wonder who she was. He assumed she would have to be a servant of the castle, perhaps groundskeeper, or a chambermaid or even a knight. He silently hoped she would be a fellow kitchen staff so he could have a friendly face. “So where are you from?” she asked him as they traversed a maze of roses. “I would guess perhaps somewhere from the southern region of Hyrule, correct?” “A small town in the Faron Province,” he chuckled. “What gave it away?” “You have a slight accent,” she replied. “It’s not a bad thing, it’s pretty cute.” At that he blushed. Was she flirting with him? “What about you?” “I have only known here.” Her response was solemn, a yearning of wanting more laced between her words. Link could empathize, for just until a few days ago his world consisted only of his hometown and a wish to see more. The scent of oven baked goods hit his nose, his mouth watering from simply imagining the taste. They had finally arrived. The castle stood proudly before them, making Link wonder how he ever missed it in the first place. It was huge- majestic brick and marble making up its structures with magnificent towers and loftwing statues decorating the viewpoints. The building was surrounded by a large field of snow and trees that stretched as far as the eye could see; a sea of white with knights, nosy press and castle staff sailing its waves. The woman simply giggled at his reaction, “first time seeing the castle?” “First time seeing any castle.”
Spirit
From the shink bongo bongo wip
It won’t be like last time. I’m older now. Stronger and wiser. If the beast dared to escape from its confines then Sheik would simply have to greet it with their steel. “Sheik!” called out a familiar voice that they dreaded to hear. No no no no, why are you here?! Why now?! they screamed to themself. Their gaze never wavered from the well, not even as the hero neared. “Stay back!” they warned, hand blocking the hero’s path. “It’s too dangerous!” They couldn’t afford having Link injured, not if they could prevent it. From the corner of Sheik’s eye they could see Link’s brow furrowed in concern, Navi circling around him anxiously in a shade of yellow. The sheikah knew what she must be sensing- evil. It was potent, suffocating, and only getting stronger. “Sheik what’s wr-” It was all a blur from there. Sheik felt an invisible hand grip onto their leg and throw him into the air, shaking them around like a child with their toy. A searing pain burned through their suit and into their skin, they could only scream in agony as the creature sapped away whatever strength they had. The wet ground met their face in an unpleasant crash; ears ringing, muscles weaker than a newborn’s, while the world slowly slipped away. From the chaos Sheik could hear Link distantly call out their name with worry. They could barely make out the familiar green from the smoke and ash. Link stood before them, sword drawn and prepared to battle whatever spirit had come out of the well. Sheik could only stretch their arm out of defiance before the world turned dark.
Demon
From Tale of the White Devil (ikik its been like a year since I've updated ToT)
Zelda couldn't believe it. After years of hoping, a decade of waiting, The demon beside her was the man she yearned to see since their goodbye.
Haldur- no, Link- did not look at her. He clutched the ocarina of time in his hands, staring at the grass with tense shoulders as if he was expecting a scolding. "You have every right to be angry at me, I won't blame you if you want to yell." His voice was small, and for a moment he sounded like the ten year old boy she met in her garden all those years ago warning her about a great evil.
She was angry yes, but she was also relieved. Her emotions were a whirlwind of negatives and positives; each one wanting to gain control of the situation. So she closed her eyes, breathing in deep until the thrumming in her chest calmed. She took a confident step forward, reaching out to him. "I'm not going to yell."
Hope
Now this one is my favorite wip called "Dawn of the Fourth Day" (or dot4 for short) with Heaven and we're currently editing it into a fic so watch out for that! Its basically our version of oot zelink's reunion post Termina
He nuzzled closer to Zelda, a tint of red on his cheeks when she talked about crowing him. Was that an actual thing? It sounded amazing; queens crowing their husbands. Did they wear matching outfits as well? What else was a part of the ceremony? He felt excited for the first time in a while to learn something new, hundreds of questions and ideas running in his head. As sleep overtook him, he began to imagine that future day, feeling hopeful for the future.
Insult
Another from Dot4
He felt her soft fingertips trace the scars on his face, delicately like she had done so the first time. She was not afraid nor disgusted by his injuries- unlike how Lady Selin and many others had been- but she instead cared for them, because they were a part of him. It was a gesture that left him lingering into her touch, but he could still not find the strength to look at her. She had called out his name ever so quietly, and held his shaking hands into hers. It was only after she squeezed them that he managed to look into her eyes. His expression would say it all- the guilt of leaving her when he could have waited inside, the self loathing of allowing himself to have been broken apart by words, the sorrow of what those words had done and the feeling of helplessness for not being able to stand up for himself. What sort of hero am I if petty insults are able to tear me down. Before he could tear his gaze away from Zelda, she kissed his hands with all the love she held for him and for that moment it was only them in the world. "My hero, what did she say to you." There was a thunder in her words, like it had been when she had asked him about his scars. Except this time, she could strike at the culprit. Link took a shaky breath, and steeled himself to talk. “She said that I… that I was a devil from the forest, and that I casted a dark spell on you, which is why…. why you stay close to me.” But he was far from finished, he then gulped and with a small voice he said, “She also said that I’m someone who was meant to be forgotten… that I’m unworthy of you.” He could feel his tears running down his cheek again, and onto their hands. “I’m sorry.” For what he was apologizing, he didn’t entirely know. But from what he had experienced in the last fourteen years of his life- there was always something he had to apologize for.
Grass
From my Hero Shade wip where I'm basically indulging in my theories of how he came to be.
Warmth. That was the first thing he began to feel. The faraway sound of birds and forest critters twinkled in his ears, was he in the forest? How had he gotten here? The last thing he could remember was.... nothing. He opened his eye and the bright sun greeted him. Everything around him was green and old; tall grass, long dangling vines and colorful flowers surrounding his waking place. It was familiar, and at the same time it was foreign.
"Where-" his own voice unnerved him. He sounded hoarse, gastly, inhuman. Much like the beasts he fought in his prime that thirsted for destruction. The sensation of a burning pulse brought his attention to his hand, where the golden triangle of courage glowed with reckless abadon against his grey skin.
Who calls to me? he pondered. A golden thread appeared before the undead hero, unwinding a path through the maze of trees and mist. He knew better than to ignore it.
Perfect
I didn't have one for perfect so I'm changing it to sacred! Hallmark again.
She escorted him through the winding halls, decorated to its full glamor for the winter festivities. But Link’s mind was too preoccupied to appreciate its beauty with the recent discovery of his acquaintance. She’s a princess- no, the princess. Oh goddess I bumped into her twice, how is she still wanting to be near me let alone talk to me?! “You may speak your mind if you wish, Link.” She slowed to a stop, not meeting his gaze. “Your silence speaks volumes.” “Oh, I um…” where would he even start? “Do you uh, often visit the town in the mornings?” What the hell was he saying?! She looked at him in bewilderment, a natural reaction considering the absurdity of his question when she began to burst out laughing. He tried not to stare, honest! But when her voice sang like the angelic chorus of the sacred temple, her wavy strawberry blonde hair falling past her shoulders shimmering in the sunset’s rays, and she looked like the incarnate of Hylia herself- how could he not stare? “You learn that I am your princess and your first inquiry is whether you may have a chance to meet me again?”
