so I recently played through the Switch port of the original ff7 and the part where Hojo remarks that Cloud might make a good scientist before their fight... it gave me an Idea... AU where Cloud became a Shinra scientist/Hojo's assistant rather than military personnel... and he slowly falls in love with Zack after Nibelheim... and tries to free him... (ofc Hojo is NOT happy...)
