Steve put the leash around a fence trying to make a portal to the neither as you sit down smiling at your human. Steve uses his flint and steel as the portal is red which makes Steve back away. As he backs away, he accidentally knocks you forward into the portal.

"Ughhhh, I'm so boreddd!" Veneer whined as you relaxed with him in his room, draping himself across your lap. "Let's go get something to eat! All this boredom is making me hungry."

It was a rare day off for him and Velvet, who had taken the opportunity to hightail it out of the mansion and leave you lovebirds alone. But while you were trying to read, Veneer was struggling to occupy himself - as usual.

"I have an idea," you slowly set down your book. "Why don't we go cook food instead? That'll cure your hunger and your boredom."

He sat up and raised an eyebrow at you, "Babe, have you seen me cook? Vel's already banned me from the kitchen, because it burned down twice...coincidentally when I tried to make food."

You laughed at that, shaking your head in dismay, "Well then maybe it's a good time for me to teach you how."

"Ooooh, you will?" He beamed, getting excited.

You smiled softly and nodded, feeling a little bad for him. His parents never gave him much attention, and Velvet was purely neglectful, so he'd never had the opportunity to have someone take the time to spend teaching him something.

"Of course, baby."

He eagerly got off his bed and grabbed your hand, practically dragging you off the bed and downstairs to the kitchen. It was massive, and a little daunting, but you'd been over so many times already you knew what went where and did what.

"So what do you feel for, Ven?" You smiled at the boy.

"No, no, no," he came over to you. "You're always making what I want. Teach me how to make what you're feeling for."

"But don't you want to learn your favourite so you can make it any time?" You giggled.

"Noooo," he pouted cutely, "I like it when you make it for me. And this way I can make what you like whenever you feel for it!" He wrapped his arm around you and kissed your cheek. "I want to do it for you so you don't have to do it yourself."

Your heart melted, and you swore you could have teared up just by hearing that, "That means the world to me baby." You kissed his slightly pink cheeks. "Okay I'll teach you what I like."

He beamed and clapped his hands excitedly, childlike wonder filling his gorgeous sapphire eyes as he watched you pull out various ingredients. He watched you glide around the kitchen, body moving instinctively cause you knew this house so well.

When you started making the food, he stuck to your side and gave you every ounce of his attention, his ears only listening to your voice. He was extremely good at listening, and even better at memorising, so when you asked him to repeat the recipe to you he knew it perfectly.

"Okay, now try actually making it," you prompted after you'd finished demonstrating. "I'll leave this in the fridge for later, I want to eat yours."

The blush that crawled across his cute cheeks made the comment even more worth it, and Veneer felt pride swell in his chest. Even if he hadn't made it yet, you were so excited to try his version regardless and it made him feel so warm inside.

He wasn't very bad at it, actually. When he did start making it, you were pleased to see he had been watching you so well that he knew exactly what to do, how much of each ingredient to put, and how to cook it. By the time he was done, your mouth was watering because it smelled even better than yours, and looked it as well.

"And you said you don't know how to cook," you laughed, taking the plate he shyly offered you. "It smells heavenly, babe."

His blush darkened, and he sat down next to you and watched in anticipation as you took your first bite. Your eyes went wide immediately, and you stared at your boyfriend in awe.

"Okay, you are definitely making this for me from now on."

"You really like it?" He beamed, puffing out his chest now with how proud and satisfied he was with himself.

"I love it," you leaned over and kissed his cheek. "It's perfect, Ven. Just like you are." That made him shy and flustered, which you were always happy to do. "I mean it."

"I know," he smiled softly, "But in all honesty, I just had a really great teacher." He smiled even more and you practically melted.

"Awww, Ven-"

"Now let's try baking!"

Baking did not go so well.

Not because he couldn't do it, or because he wasn't as good at it as cooking, but because the both of you got distracted way too easily.

"Babe! You can't eat all of it!"

Veneer laughed like a kid getting candy as he raced around the kitchen with the baking bowl tucked in his arms. You weren't far behind him, laughing as well and trying to stop him.

"You'll get sick if you eat too much batter!"

"Then you can take care of me!" He suggested cheerily, scooping more batter onto his finger and plopping it into his mouth. "Mmm..."

"Ven!"

"Okay fine, you want it back babe?" He smirked deviously, stopping and turning around to face you. His eyes glinted mischievously, and you stopped as well, getting worried.

"Ven, baby," you laughed nervously, "What are you doing?"

"Nothing," he smiled innocently, before coming up to you and handing you the bowl.

The empty bowl.

"Veneer!" You gasped. "You ate all of it?!"

"Fast metabolism, baby, I won't even feel it."

Your jaw dropped as you looked between him and the bowl, worried about his health now but also about how fast he could ingest a bowl of batter.

"That was fun! Let's make more!"

Your second attempt did not go very well either.

"Hey! Stop, I'm trying to concentrate!"

Your bubbly laughter was all that Veneer needed to hear to know that you weren't really mad at him for poking your face with his flower-covered finger. He smiled as you responded like that, doing it again.

"Babe!" You giggled, before turning and flicking some flour onto him. "Go watch the cupcakes while I finish these brownies."

"But I wanna watch youuuu," he pouted, before rubbing your face with his hands - which were still powdered by the flour. You gasped and backed up, knocking the cup of cocoa powder you were about to use off the table.

It landed with a loud clang, due to being in a metal measuring cup, and for a moment there was just stunned silence. Then...

"Oh, that's it!"

You bent down to scoop some of the now-ruined cocoa powder (their floor is super clean but regardless, you were both just walking on it) into your hands, before standing back up and tossing it at him.

He blinked as it covered his face, before returning your devious smirk and doing the same. Pretty soon the brownies were forgotten, and it was now a full-on cocoa powder war. The kitchen was filled with the sounds of your giggles, and you were so busy having fun that neither of you heard Velvet return home until she got to the kitchen,

Ik there's been discourse on if Emily did the right thing or not and I don't wanna get into that either but I think if they were both sober, then it would've delved into a more emotional conversation about the website and Emily could've explained in full why she chose that decision. That's at least my thoughts on it for now.

I finally got to read the update!! Don't mind me rambling a bit about everything I loved about it...

I really enjoyed the beginning of this chapter.  Being playful with Basil in the van is super cute. It was interesting to see Reem and Basil not getting along a little bit, it makes me intrigued about if there will be any cracks in our little friend group's foundation that might start to show. And if so what that might mean when things start going bad.

Also, Anita is adorable!! It had me giggling when she called everyone attractive--I loved getting to tease her about it afterwards. I chose to room with her and the siblings--though the thought of Basil sleeping alone makes me nervous for the future...

Definitely Looking at Anita's comment about how your sanity starts slipping when you go without sleep. I'm SO eager to reach the horror. Though the slightly slower, cheerful beginning is so great. I love getting to know everyone and seeing them happy and bonding, knowing that there's horror on the horizon...

Javier talking about his mom marrying his dad straight up made me snort laugh. I work with kids and they truly do say the most out of pocket things. It's very true to life. And ooooh, Basil and Gabriel just...staring at the woods got me so hyped. Reading that scene gave me a proper thrill, that little 'heart-pounding-faster' feeling that makes me love horror so so much.

Hell yes at getting to tell the kids a scary story!! I remember being a kid and hearing classics like Don't Turn on the Light and being scared out of my socks. It's sooo fun to be able to play at passing that on to a whole new generation!! I'm 100% in to romance Basil, but this update makes me want to do a run where I romance Anita. She's so so cute. And the siblings both are great in their own ways... I'm sensing that I'll end up doing runs for each of the ROs, you've made such fun and sweet characters!

Aaah that ending!!!! Genuinely terrifying, and made me so anxious about the kids!! I KNOW my MC is going to be hard-pressed to keep them all safe. I can't wait to see what comes next!! I love how you write characters, they're all so likable and distinct!! This was such a good update, it makes me really eager for more.

Basil and Anita's on-the-road scenes in the van were my favorite to write!! And yes, there's certainly a bit of tension in the group. MCs with high sociability or perception will be able to pick up on this, also on George's fondness for a certain colleague--- but don't worry, no one's at each other's throats. Yet.

And yay, some Anita appreciation!! Cut her some slack, she's not used to being around hot people and between a possibly cute MC and the FUCKING MALAKS of all people... yeah. It's not easy for her.

Ok so you know that you can also sleep in the van with Basil if your relationship stat/his approval of you is strong enough? I hope that was clear from the dialogue options and you just chose the cabin despite of it, bc if not, I might have to rewrite the choice. Furthermore, while I can see why you'd be worried for him, I'd be more concerned for an MC who chooses to sleep alone ;) [yes, this is me hinting at a future horror scenario possibly unique to that route].

Ah yes, Javier, my son <3 lol. Nahhh I don't favor any of the campers. Though, if I had to pick which one I liked to write the most, it'd probably be him.

Now I feel bad haha. Ok but srsly, kids can be VERY outspoken, and Javier especially has noooo social filter. You might notice that some of the campers' traits specifically correspond to some of the ROs' characteristics... Looking at Gabriel and Basil here.

Both campfire stories are also really close to my own heart, so I jumped at the chance to include them. As for the ROs, I do hope you'll do a run for each of them! I'm trying quite hard to make it difficult to choose between them ;)

I love that the ending hit the way it was supposed to. If you want to know what's up next, I have one word for you: confusion. Lots of confusion.

See, I need to give this story a slow, slice-of-life start, bc purely from a narrative standpoint, it wouldn't make sense for the horror to come out guns blazing. That's why the MC will at first be the only one to experience the horrors and for the horrors to (seemingly) originate from one of the kids, bc if it was more dramatic and the threat was to come from an exterior source, everyone would just pack up and flee and then the story would be over. That's what I figure.

Anyhow, I'm so glad I still got you hooked with this project. Thanks so much for this super long message.

- I’m just now noticing that the back office is playing music and that’s probably why Phee can’t hear the alarm go off. That is hilarious and also very frustrating 😅

- There’s no way downloading someone’s flight log goes that quickly but okay

- No NO no NOOO Nooooo. This moment was ruined by the Star Wars marketing team so it honestly didn’t hit as hard as it would have otherwise, but 😭😭😭. RIP Marauder. You will live on in our imagination

- I still can’t believe that they somehow heard our outcry about what would happen to Gonky, Lula, and Tech’s goggles if they blew up the Marauder, and decided to save EXACTLY those three things 🤣 (and Wrecker. So glad Wrecker is “relatively” okay, poor boy)

- Hunter’s slooow helmet turn until we see the starship above the island. Phew. And the Imperial March coming in.

- It’s so interesting to me how touchy CX-2 is with Omega. Why all the shoulder pushes? Shoulder touches are very much a form of affection and communication among clones. Has that impulse in him just been turned to violence?

- Sooo…we basically will never get wet hair Hunter 🤣🤣🤣 I’ll take this much dripping and cute Batcher scratches compensation though

- Okay. I’m just going to say it. The way they chose to have Crosshair miss the tracking device was so disappointing to me. Not the fact that he missed, but how he missed. Having him be distracted and fend for his life and be late for the shot was great. But I wish they had brought his hand tremble into play here as the main mechanism behind why he missed. They’ve been building that up all season and it would have made perfect sense. Instead he rushes and like trips and just shoots too early? So out of character. I didn’t like it and still don’t :(
