Or at least they were headed towards that before SHE DIED THEN HE DIED THEN THEY BOTH FORGOT ABOUT EACH OTHER AND NEVER MET EVER AGAIN. Though she’s also the guard attack hound keeping him safe… And vice versa he heals her and can rewrite her very being with just one wave of his hand. They’re both so so mentally and physically vulnerable both but they cling onto each other. They can’t perceive things accurately but despite it all someway somehow they stumble into something closer to resembling companionship just before they both die. Falin is just that kind and Thistle is just that lonely. Overworked. We both haven’t lived for ourselves in a very long time, haven’t we.

They both have a similar devotion to the people they love but again the difference is that Thistle starts overtsepping while Falin is self-effacing. The other difference between them is that people care about Falin <3 People have given up on Thistle long ago, and he has given people reasons to, while people refuse to give up on Falin. Yaad has a mini arc about it dw about it it’s ok he’s not all alone in the end 😭😭 He reached out for Marcille’s hand but they already all wanted to help him, they just had to be given the chance to, Yaad just had to be given the chance to, it’s okay I’m okay

one au idea i think would be super funny is if shadow somehow figured out that vio was only pretending to be on his side so he could get information and kill him like. almost immediately. like instead of them having time to actually get attached to each other that whole thing is foiled before it starts. and so instead of shadow flying into a rage because of a betrayal instead he's like "y'know what fuck it i can do that too" and starts talking like this whenever vio fishes for information

Jay is under no delusions that Ben will stay asleep long - he hopes that's the case because of course he does. Because, perhaps, there may have been a reason that, when he felt Ben's weight press a little more heavily against his side, Jay had gone still and regulated his breathing in a way that he'd hopes Ben would unknowingly match - nice and slow, perfect for just casually falling off into sleep.

The movie they'd had going has long since ended, the books surrounding them ( far more on Ben's side, but let it not be said that Jay put in no effort to get a little work done ) now untouched. He'd grinned in affectionate satisfaction, his stomach glittering with the kind of feeling that only comes when Ben lets himself be vulnerable around him. Honestly, it feels like uncovering a treasure way more valuable than gold.

At first, he'd passed the time idly scrolling his phone, listening for sounds out in the hallway and finding none but still making sure no one threw open the door and prematurely woke the king. Eventually, though, Jay finds his attention more captured by Ben than any photos posted on his feed or mindless games. It's dark out, but there's warm lighting from all the bronze sconces and a soft glow from the idle TV, and the different lights splay across Ben's face, highlighting the slight gold sheen in his hair, the softness of his cheek.

... Damn, if this isn't a dangerous game to play.

But he can't bring himself to look away; it's been no secret that one of Jay's daily priorities is making sure Ben gets some kind of rest. The kingdom might need him, but forgive him if he cares a little more about his friend than the mostly theoretical kingdom at large. From where he's standing - or, well, sitting - it's Ben that needs the looking after.

It's a little longer than he'd worried about, but not long enough, before he feels Ben stirring. Ah, well. He'd prefer if Ben had been able to get any more meaningful rest, but Jay's not going to complain. He quickly turns back to his phone - and then freezes at the question, his face warming and eyes darting between his phone and Ben.

Kakashi not being “strong” without the sharingan is such a terrible take. It’s thematically correct choice to have Kakashi give up his “gift” to show his acceptance of his grief and move past it.

Not only thematically correct but he’s proven time and time again that it hinders his skill and improvement. in Kakashi Retsuden he takes on fifty missing ninja with a frying pan at once, no sharingan.
