Warning : This is just Yume having a mental breakdown, seriously. This episode update was WHACK.

Kouhei and Taichi walked to the park, and were the only ones there, despite it being a lovely day. There was a bench over by some trees, and they sat down side by side, curling into each other.

It wasn't long before they were fully snuggled up together. Taichi brought his legs up and draped them over one of Kouhei's. They leaned in to each other. Kouhei's hands rested on top of Taichi's knee as Taichi hugged him from the side. Their heads leaned in towards each other and touched in a lovely head bonk of love. It was perfect.

Last song: Holy by King Princess (as that was my sleep song last night) and before that it's hard to tell because I was queueing to see what I felt like sleeping to that night (I just repeat the song for an hour on the sleep timer) so probably either The Worst [Polyphia] or Soda [Nothing But Thieves] or Sleeping In Waking [Rina Sawayama]

Last Movie/Film: ok ok so. I thought it was Waves. But it might have actually been Wolf. Time is hard. Both of these were Quite Some Time ago now.... but since this is a doubled question: Waves and Wolf! Last Series: Leverage! (I haven't seen Redemption yet though) Sweet/Savoury/Spicy: oooh all of them <3

Tea or coffee: Ahhhh both? I'm currently not having coffee, nor do I go out of my way to make my own tea right now (but I will grab a mug when dad makes it). But during the school semester I'll usually have coffee in the morning (and maybe in the afternoon too if I'm tired) and keep adding hot water to my travel tea mug throughout the day, too!

Currently Working On: cleaning my desk so I can maybe start the art/pictures for the bottom Joe week belated thing haha oops... but who knows maybe I'll be in too much pain idk. Moving upper arm is not fun rn. But also sort of started the writing part of it~ Might make it sexy despite originally wanting to do it non-explicit! (I'm not sure if I'm good per se, but I'm less hung up over doing more explicit stuff after doing the top Joe pornathon) Then once I finish that I'm hoping to seriously rework my Etsy Chronicles (working title) and for that one maybe I'll even try to find a beta? idk. I am so excited for it though!!!!

Currently watching: ummmm nothing? Sometimes maybe youtube a bit? I'll loop a video of music (rn usually Ichika Nito or Tim Henson) for the background... intending to watch Hartenstraat <3

Craving: food: maybe chocolate mousse because I said I would make it as long as mum helped (limited use of the arm I got jabbed in rn wo pain so I just avoid moving it in ways it'll hurt). drink: we were going to get bubble tea after our second dose appts, but bc of the timing, they were closed. So maybe one of the fruity bubble teas!

Who was the last person you recall dreaming about? I don’t remember that, actually; I’m horrible at recalling dreams unless they’re a) a nightmare, or b) super weird. Anyway, I could be completely wrong but I can very vaguely remember seeing a co-worker or two in my most recent dream.

I see. And do your dreams ever have random people in them? No, not really. Most of the time it’s people I regularly see/interact with. What was the last spicy food you ate? Do you eat a lot of spicy food? The food itself wasn’t spicy, but I had fried dumplings the other night; and while they were good, it felt like it needed a kick so I added sriracha to the side to dip it in. My judgment wasn’t wrong because it turned out good, hahaha. And yes, I eat a lot of spicy food. I always prefer the spicier version of something if offered.

When was the last time you admired some flowers? What kind/colour were they? Idk I never do that with trees and flowers and such.

What were you doing when 4PM last came around? I was at Starbucks, just killing time.

Do you own anything that is sparkly or has glitter on it? Yes. My most recent phone case was super glittery.

Which streaming services do you use? How long have you been using them for? I have Netflix, which we’ve had for around four years, I want to say? and Spotify, which I’ve had for the past eight years. We’re also about to finally have Disney+ in the country this month and we’re in the process of setting up a family account for that as well.

Are you in the process of watching or re-watching a series at the moment? No I’m not, I’m terrible with series. I want to finish Our Beloved Summer before the year ends, though, considering I had stopped continuing it back all the way in like March.

If so, how many seasons does it have? And what season are you currently on? It just has one season, as most Korean dramas do.

To whom did you last send an email? Do you check your emails daily? Idk, it had to have been a client. I check my work Gmail from Monday to Friday since emails are part and parcel of the job; but I have it completely on ignore on weekends because fuuuuuuuuuuuck that shit.

What was the last item of yours that you misplaced? Did you find it? My earphones. I have a ridiculous story behind this too – so I went to Starbucks yesterday with no particular agenda in mind and really just to get some fresh air. I take out my earphone case to start enjoying whatever video I feel like watching, and lo and behold my earphones aren’t inside. At that point I had already ordered my drink and pastry but I didn’t want to spend the next 2-3 hours without listening to anything...so I just said fuck it, ordered a new pair, and had it delivered there. LOL

Anyway when I got home my misplaced earphones was in some spot in my room, so all’s good. In any case, I’ve been wanting an extra pair anyway because I lose stuff easily; so I didn’t mind my reckless idea of getting a new pair on the spot.

What was the last thing you ate, that you considered a treat/luxury? The five-course dinner we had last Saturday in celebration of my sister’s graduation.

I see. How often do you typically eat such things? We usually save hotel lunches/dinners for special occasions, so just a few times in a year.

Do you have any idea what you're going to have for dinner tomorrow evening? Not sure. If my dad’s cooking it’s always a pleasant surprise though!

What type of cake did you have for your last birthday, if any? Oooh I had a handful of cakes for my birthday last year. So the cake I bought for my family was marshmallow frosted chocolate fudge topped with a dozen macarons; my parents got me this adorable chocolate cake shaped just like a Starbucks frappe – they also improvised by adding cake toppers of Jin’s face; and Kata got me coffee cake.

Bonus entry but not really a cake – Angela got me doughnuts that were each molded out to spell Borahae :) Super fun and memorable birthday – I was a three-week old BTS fan back then so everybody had a lot of fun sprinkling in BTS references here and there in their surprises haha.

When was the last time you asked for someone's advice or opinion? It was around Thursday when Andi and I got into a conversation about law school.

Has anyone you know got a new pet recently? Hmm, not that I know of.

^If so, what kind? And what name did they choose? Nobody I know has had any new pets.

Who was the last person you knew that had a baby? How long ago was that? A family friend; she gave birth a week ago.

And is anyone you know expecting a baby anytime soon? Yes, a classmate from high school.

What was the last fundraising event that you took part in? It was a donation drive for the victims of the recent typhoon. A local Army chapter was hosting it and I wanted to donate whatever extra I had; we ended up raising around P80k! :)

How old were you 10 years ago? Who were your closest friends at that point? I was 14 at the time and my best friends were Angela and my now-ex.

^Do you still speak to any of them? I’m still very close with Angela!

Okay, I'll finish with something positive. Is there anything that you're looking forward to, in the near future? Finally resigning and finding a job that can serve as even just a little bit of a breather.

You guys definitely challenged me with your submissions yesterday!!

Thank you so much for sharing what random ingredients you had in your fridge and pantry. I came up with some pretty great solutions.

A testament the power really is in the sauce :0)

QUICK RECAP: 1) I’m sharing with you my “secret ingredient” to writing recipes and making instant meals from whatever I’ve got: SAUCES. In post #1 I explained how a simple sauce can turn a bunch of random ingredients into a real, satisfying meal. I also showed you how all the best cuisines (i.e. French, Italian) use sauces as a defining characteristic. In post #2 I gave you BASIC MEAL FORMULA (starch + protein + vegetable + sauce) with 10 super simple examples of it in use so you see exactly how it works (woot!) and why sauces are transformative. I’m also giving you five more examples today from your submissions plus my MOTHERLOAD universal sauce recipe that goes with everrrrything.

As promised (!!)

This is my MOTHERLOAD “universal” it-goes-with-everything sauce. I usually serve this sauce as a cold salad dressing but I have also used it as a “gravy” (lightly heat it on the stove) for steamed veggies and I’ve mixed it with cooked rice and vegetables for a baked casserole. It’s even magical over a baked potato with peas.

FYI--my omni friends like this sauce so much they practically drink it.

Mmmmm Mmmm Sauce (makes about ⅓ cup)

¼ cup cold water

¼ cup nutritional yeast

1-2 tbsp Dijon mustard

1 tbsp pure maple syrup

Juice of ½ lemon

1 tbsp miso paste

Combine all ingredients in a blender and whiz until well combined. Chill until serving (it thickens up a bit and gets better with age).

Add more miso for a miso-flavored (Asian-inspired) option, more lemon juice (or lemon zest) for a lemony sauce, more Dijon for a tangier variation or vinegar for a punch. You can also substitute tahini (or a nut butter) for the miso and a whole new flavor profile is ready for you to play with. Additionally, you can slightly alter this dressing by adding 1-2 tsp curry powder, 1-2 tsp dried dill (or fresh), toasted sesame seeds, tomato paste, smoked paprika, or any other herbs and spices you like.

When quadrupling this recipe, I add a can of chickpeas or navy beans. Now you’ve got enough to party!!

It really is the MOTHERLOAD sauce :)

As delicious as it is though, my family does tire of it (and barbecue sauce, and marinara, and teriyaki, and all the other simple sauce examples I suggested yesterday).

This is why I have a list of 122 sauces

and 69 oil-free salad dressing recipes

that I call upon to bring my meals together, especially when I haven’t been to the store in a while.

Without that list, I couldn’t write recipes or pull meals together out of my butternut at 6pm. That list/compilation of sauce recipe is my end-all-be-all-food-bible.

I’ve written close to 5,000 recipes at this point in my career and I’m still shocked at how a quick whisk-it-together sauce transforms “random ingredients” into a real, satisfying MEAL.

I could eat beans and rice with a side of broccoli or kale, sure. I get that “food is fuel” and that those healthy things are a meal… but anytime I do that, it feels like I’m missing something…

... Before I know it my head is in the fridge or pantry looking for that missing thing.

WHEN I USE A SAUCE? That doesn’t happen.

If you can relate, I encourage you to start using more sauces and dressings. Take my suggestions, examples, the Mmm Mmm motherload sauce recipe above, and run with them.

The basic meal formula makes it so easy. Plug and play!

Speaking of that, here are the five more examples of the formula. (Thanks again to everyone who submitted their list of random ingredients yesterday)

1. “Bowtie macaroni, lentils, and Brussels sprouts”

Three good options: Toss all of them with balsamic vinegar or a balsamic vinaigrette (add Dijon for a twist) or with marinara. If you like spicy, mix Sriracha into vegan mayo or yogurt and toss to coast everything for a chilled or slightly warm salad. I recommend roasting the Brussel sprouts if you can.

2. “Farro, kidney beans, half a green bell pepper, some celery”

Sounds like a Cajun meal! Saute veg, Add Creole Red Pepper Gravy.

3. “Spaghetti, canned green beans, canned carrots.”

I’ve got just the gravy! Dijon Gravy (⅔ cup water, 2T nutritional yeast, 1-2T Dijon, 1-3 tsp Italian seasoning, 1 tsp miso (optional), 2 tsp cornstarch. Whisk together heat over low). Toss canned vegetables in with pasta 1 minute before it’s done to warm. Drain, toss with gravy for a sauce, adding soy or almond milk to thin if desired.

4. “Udon noodles, tofu, frozen pea-carrot medly.”

That’s definitely a job for Pad Thai Peanut Sauce.

5. “Quinoa, black beans, bananas”

Oooh! I get to share one of my secret gems! Have a Belize-inspired meal with my Lime Dressing (3T veg broth, 1-3T white vinegar, juice 1-2 limes, 1-2 tsp maple, ¼ tsp garlic powder and chili powder (or hot sauce), few dashes of cumin, whisk, chill). If you have frozen mango, you could go simpler with my Mango Lime Dressing (blend together 1 cup mango, juice ½ lime, dash ground ginger, Sriracha or other hot sauce if desired).

6. “Pls tell me how to use chipotle hot sauce. I have most beans, hummus, bread, tortillas, salad, frozen corn, rice, pasta, quinoa.”

That hot sauce is used an a substitute for the paprika and chipotle powder in my Smoky Chipotle Dressing! (1/4c vegan mayo or hummus, ⅛ tsp liquid smoke, dash of smoked paprika, very light dash chipotle powder). Spread on a wrap and add black beans, spinach or salad mix, and tomatoes if you have them).

7. “Do you have any recipe that uses apricot preserves?”

Sure do! My Instant Sweet and Sour Sauce (¼ c apple cider vinegar, 2 tbsp apricot jam or preserves, dash garlic powder, hot sauce (optional). Toss over roasted cauliflower and shelled edamame or baked cubed tofu. Serve over rice.
