Pillowfort??

The thing with Pillowfort is, I can’t see anything of its functionality before giving them money. Which...is sketch. I mean, I know it’s only like 10 bucks or something but still.

I’ve seen some stuff about it but I’m not really sure how it works. I know you have your own blog and I’ve heard you can reblog stuff (but it can disappear off your blog if OP deletes including any addition you’ve made). But I’m also really interested in its searchability function. What I mean is like...I’ve heard it’s organized around comms so is it like ooldschool LJ/DW style where you can’t go into a tag and find all the stuff everyone on the platform has posted tagged with that? You’d have to be part of a comm on the topic or search people’s blogs/comms by that tag individually? Is that how it works? Is there some other nuance I’m missing? (This is important for me because a) I can get the old-style comm function on, say, DW already and b) this is no good for me really as someone whose interests lean heavily toward small fandoms and rare ships which benefit greatly from the site-wide tagging aggregate system like tumblr has.)

I’d really like to know more about Pillowfort before giving them money or writing it off as not an option. Could someone familiar with the platform please advise? @gracerene09 I think you’re on there?

PS/ETA: also is the blog set up more like tumblr or like LJ/DW? i.e. is it friendly to posting gifsets without tons of alignment, etc coding?
