part of canon you think is overhyped for Kotor / Kotor 2 whichever you prefer 👀

stephen my dear friend. this is coming from me of all people: the romances

we all know i love them. kirnet is canonically divorced from almost every character. the romances are really fun, especially in k2… but only when they aren’t fully realized? like i love the fact that atton only confesses when he’s horrifically dying. its so fun for me (<- i love pain and horror)

again, i really love the shipping, i love seeing my friends ocs and their pairings and learning about their backstories. the romance (or the withholding of romance in k2) are really nice additions to the story, but they overshadow other relationships (both friendly and antagonistic) with other npcs, like kreia or the dantooine council. and also the fact that 1) the absolute trauma of revan’s memory wipe that makes them fuck off into deepspace with no notice and 2) the fact that the exiles relationships are all inherently parasitic, even if they’re mutual. there’s a horror and tension in the romances that i think would be nice if they were touched upon more

all that said like, this is like barely an issue for me lol, i just love the games so much that i have a really hard time picking out something that could be overhyped.
