I'm very fond of you visual calculus. I think you're actually very funny and interesting. One of the more underated skills, in my opinion.
Many thanks for your kind words! In exchange, I offer you the following comforting (or possibly terrifying) fact:
After the pale has consumed us all, and all matter has settled in a state of maximum entropy, it is still possible that after enough time has passed some arrangement of atoms with all the memories of a human life will spontaneously emerge, and exist for a brief moment before being subsumed back into the pale. After death, life again.

Please! This isn’t a Game! || Pt. 4 || Jeonghan
Tumblr media
Pt. 1 // Pt. 2 // Pt. 3 // Pt. 4 // Pt. 5 // Pt. 6 //
➢ Word Count: 1761
➢ Genre: sci-fi, fantasy, fluff, comedy, transmigration
➢ Summary: What do you do when you get thrown into an unknown world? Well, Jeonghan sure as heck does not know.
——–
Baseless confidence was Jeonghan’s strong suit. It was what he was best at in his original life, so naturally he would carry it over into this fictional one. As he reclined on the cushy couch at the back of the ship, he thought little of what was to come for the following two months. Instead, he calmly sipped at a full glass of wine as he browsed options to customize his armor that would be commissioned and quickly sent out to him so he wouldn’t have to keep wearing his brother’s hand-me-downs.
Suddenly, the cabin doors slid open and in came his new second-in-command, Choi Seungcheol.
“Sir,” Seungcheol stiffly saluted, “Permission to speak?”
Jeonghan glanced up at Seungcheol. He set down his glass and sat straighter, no longer sprawling on the couch. He stared at him intently, waiting for him to speak.
“We will be landing in our destination in another three hours,” Seungcheol said. “A part of our troops are already there and have begun to set up camp. Once we arrive, you will be escorted to your quarters. Shortly after, dinner will be served. Following that, we will hold our meeting. Someone will come to retrieve you.”
Jeonghan felt like a child by the way Seungcheol was talking, but he nodded. As Seungcheol turned to leave, Jeonghan sheepishly cleared his throat. Seungcheol turned around, a cold glimmer in his eye. Jeonghan gulped. “You don’t have to be so formal. I hear you and my brother are great friends? It would be nice if we could…interact with a little less stiffness.”
“That would be impossible, sir,” Seungcheol said.
Jeonghan tilted his head. “Why is that?”
“Because then I would be unable to hold back my bias against you,” his eyes narrowed before he bowed and exited Jeonghan’s cabin.
Jeonghan frowned at the door that silently slid shut and picked up the wine glass again. He stretched out on the couch again and leaned against his palm as he scrolled through customization options.
“Why’d you try to make friends with him?” the system asked after a long silence.
“Choi Seungcheol was one of Yoon Taewook’s most powerful allies in the previous timeline. If I can get him on my side before I switch over, Taewook would basically lose a right hand.”
“But if you switch over, that doesn’t necessarily mean Seungcheol will follow.”
“Oh, I know. In fact, I know for sure he won’t follow but if he sees my pure and caring personality, he would think in his heart that I would never switch sides unless I had a real reason. Then, he will become cautious and might even become suspicious towards Taewook.”
“Whoa…Host, you’re really far-sighted.”
“I guess. But, of course,” Jeonghan smashed its admiration, “this is all just baseless assumption. Actually, it’s just because I think he’s fun to have around. I need someone to pass the time with. Two months is a long time.”
The system was tricked again.
Jeonghan glanced at the glowing ball. “Aren’t you supposed to be a powerful extension of the all-knowing? How can you be so naïve?”
The system quietly sulked, not bothering to respond to its ridiculous host.
Jeonghan happily returned to his shopping and sent off his requests and measurements just as the ship landed.
The borderland between the kingdoms and the dark forces was a thick forest that offered plenty of cover from prying eyes however, the forest had a mind of its own and the trees could speak to those that they considered worthy. It was an entire being that despised the human race that constantly waged war around it but had stood its ground and stayed neutral despite each generation of the human race that came and tried to coax it into being a spy for the other.
Jeonghan thought that this kind of setting was interesting. If it was alive and disliked humans, how could it possible allow them to set up camp? Simply, Seungcheol said, they just had to set up multiple protective spells around their camp and they would be fine. The trees would be unable to get in and would have trouble detecting them. However, once they wandered out, they would be fair game if they didn’t wear the correct protection that shielded them from the eyes of the trees.
Jeonghan wanted to laugh. This world was so much more interesting than his own! His eyes sparkled as he looked around, making Seungcheol find him stranger and stranger. People would normally be terrified of this forest.
Dinner and the meeting came and went. An attendant came in briefly after to inform Jeonghan that his armor had arrived and requested that he tried it on in case it needed to be taken in or even remade.
The armor was sleeker than what Taewook usually wore. It fit tight but reflected and had plates like medieval armor, making it heftier but also less susceptible to penetration by weapon or magic. The helmet was more of a mask that also covered his head. The lower half was left open; however, he would be wearing a black layer under his armor that would also cover his face. This layer prevented poisonous substances or fumes to flow into or make contact with his skin. Jeonghan thought of everything and had impressed the designers so much that they wanted to make it perfect, just like Jeonghan imagined, so he had no qualms and didn’t even need to get it resized.
Jeonghan was quite proud of his armor. Even the system was impressed by its host’s flawless design. However, it couldn’t help but ask…
“Whatever happened to wanting to get stabbed?”
“The original Jeonghan in the last timeline was a wimp. There’s no way he’d want to get stabbed,” Jeonghan said. “I can’t OOC before I activate my powers, so I could only make it bullet proof. Plus, this will come in handy at a later time when I actually have to fight.”
“But then, how will you get stabbed?”
“No worries, Navi, I’m an expert on courting death. Just float around and watch the master do his job,” Jeonghan said. He pulled off his helmet and set it on his bedside table before he began to shed the rest of his armor.
“You shouldn’t be so proud at being able to court death,” the system mumbled.
“I beg to differ,” Jeonghan said. “I would say I deserve a medal at how well I court death.”
The system whirled around as Jeonghan changed into pajamas and laid down on the not comfortable bed. Jeonghan looked at the worried whirling and finally reached out to grab it.
“Alright, alright, calm down. I’m already being super careful. I haven’t rushed head first into battle, have I?”
“You’re about to.”
That much was true but Jeonghan pretended he didn’t hear it. Instead, he turned off the lights and pulled the covers over himself. He closed his eyes and released the system since it was struggling too much, and drifted off into a peaceful sleep.
When he awoke, he barely had time to properly put on his armor before he was rushed out and helped onto a horse.
When Jeonghan full gained consciousness, he was standing at the foot of a hill. The others were crouched around him.
“We first have to take this base,” one of the soldiers, who was much more competent than Jeonghan, helpfully reminded him.
“Let’s proceed as planned,” Jeonghan said.
The soldiers glanced at each other. They stayed rooted until Seungcheol spoke. Only then did they move.
Jeonghan should feel indignant, but he had no sense of attachment to the roll he was currently playing so he allowed it to slide.
Choi Seungcheol, the strongest in this troop, was assigned to protect Taewook’s worthless brother, the commander, Yoon Jeonghan. As someone who could fight five hundred people by himself, he could spare some strength to protect the weak. However, in the heat of battle, Jeonghan expertly slipped away and began his plan to court death.
At the helm of the reinforcements was a dashing young man named Joshua Hong. Little information was known about him from the previous timeline, other than the fact that he hated Taewook a lot and got in his way however he could. Because of this, he was killed off partway through and his life remained a mystery in the universe’s uncaring eyes. He was the most promising dark magic user of this generation and obviously, the quickest and easiest way to die would be to go against him.
“By accident” Jeonghan ran into Joshua. Jeonghan actually did fairly well defending himself for a non-magic user but somehow, he ended up getting deeper and deeper into the fray and eventually ended up in front of Joshua.
That was when his skills magically dropped to zero. Jeonghan would later blame it on fear.
Joshua’s eyes flashed, seeing the emblem that only the commanders wore and naturally attacked.
There was a chip in Jeonghan’s armor that he deliberately moved aside the night before. Jeonghan, “extremely alarmed”, quickly moved to the side, however the sword “coincidentally” caught onto the chip in his armor and managed to pierce through the plate.
Jeonghan didn’t react at first but he eventually felt the pain and doubled over. He expertly kicked Joshua off his horse, the sword pulling out of his body as its owner fell, and rolled off his own horse two.
The two men grappled and fought. Jeonghan fought sloppily, with awkward movements, while Joshua fought swiftly and expertly. Jeonghan lasted longer than anyone would have thought but was eventually backed against the cliff. Joshua pointed his sword at Jeonghan’s neck, his eyes narrowed.
“What is your motivation?” Joshua asked. “Why are you guys suddenly attacking this base?”
The base was at an odd place that did not interfere with the Empire or its people. To attack this place was blatant provocation, but Joshua wanted to know why.
Jeonghan had his own, personal answer to this “why” question, but his vision was already beginning to blur and he could clearly feel the wetness that caused his shirt to cling to his side, so all that came from Jeonghan’s throat was a strange grunt.
He took a step back while Joshua took a step forward.
Already dizzy from losing blood, Jeonghan dazedly swayed and managed to step on some loose ground. Joshua’s eyes widened in confusion as Jeonghan fell back. His hand reached out to grab him, only to find that it was too late.
Yoon Jeonghan rolled down the mountain.

What I Think is Happening
We saw a big focus on Dean and Jack’s relationship this past episode, and I think it’s for a plot reason. No, its not so Sam can be sidelined because Jack is popular so TPTB want to make him Dean’s son instead, but because Dean and Jack need some ground to be made up for starters. We all already know Sam and Cas are very close to Jack, but Dean was harsh on him until the end of 13x04 last year, and soon after, Jack got lost in the AU. And then this season, Jack recently said that if Michael cant be killed without killing Dean, then Dean dies too, so even if thats all water under the bridge, it was still bad water, and they need to come together. That’s part 1.
Part 2 is that, a common SPN pattern is that something gets built up before being torn down, or strongly challenged. They tend to play up relationships or roles right before something comes along to crush it or change it drastically.  Remember in S1, Sam and John fought tooth and nail until they had a heart to heart talk and then soon after, John died. Later in S5, Sam and Dean were at odds right before each chose each  other. Or S11 when an emphisis was put on Sam and Dean being together and Dean never leaving Sam, and then ending on Dean needing to choose the world over Sam and Sam accepting it.  What I think is probably happening here, is that soon, Dean will be trying to kill Jack (as Michael!Dean) or Jack trying to kill Dean (however that may come about) and most likely. Sam needing to make a choice between Jack and Dean.
Supernatural is a horror/drama show. Emphisis on drama. Any way to kick us in the feels, they will do. If this isnt what you like, then there are a bunch of other shows that don’t deal in drama to choose from, this one however, likes making us cry, and get angry, and scared and stressed. Im pretty sure this is about to be one of those things,
Remember that Jack was able to kill Michael but he didnt, so as Im convinced Michael is still in Dean but hiding, its probably coming soon that Michael!Dean tries to kill him. Of course in attempt to protect himself in case Jack recovers his grace and then will be strong enough to kill him again. Same way hes been looking for dark Kaia’s spear.  So why does this story arch have to be Dean’s and not Sam’s? Because it would have never  made any sense for Sam to have been unaccepting of Jack, unless Jack was bad. However, Jack is good, and no better way make a new character likable, than to have Sam like them.  Imagine if it was Dean who accepted Jack first and not Sam? Sam would have a valid reason to, with him being Lucifer’s son and all, and it would feel wrong , or OOC for Dean to like Lucifers son when Sam didnt and samgirls and bibros alike would be side eyeing Dean, like “How could you do this to Sam? He’s the son of the entity who tortured him for 180 yrs and taunts him to this day!” And then after a few episodes, Sam for whatever reason warms up to him. It would always be in our mind that he’s rightfully uncomfortable around Jack, and we’d wonder if Sam wasnt just keeping the peace, for Dean’s sake, and still quietly hates Jack.  Jack wouldnt be as well loved as he is, if this arc had gone the other way and when the question of chosing one over the other rears its ugly head, it wouldnt be as dramatic.  As we learned in the last 13+ seasons, is that Sam and Dean will die for each other, kill for each other, destroy the universe for each other, and that wont ever change, but throw in someone they both love as a son, and now you have a problem. If one brother would choose Jack over the other, it wouldnt be that they love him more than their brother. It would be that they do love Jack, and hes so young and hasnt even had a chance to live yet, and they know their brother is more than willing to be a martyr, and has more often than not, wanted to die and stay dead. Now we truly do have a moral delema. This also wouldnt be as dramatic if the boys needed to choose between their mother and each other, because even though many of us dont hate Mary, I dont think we’d hurt too much if she died.  If this happens, Im pretty sure, that something else will interviene and the choice wont have to be made. Like when Lucifer was holding Dean by the throat and telling Sam to either say “yes” or Dean dies. Something happened so that the choice never needed to be made, and to this day, we dont know how Sam would have chosen. We could say “Oh well obviously, hed say yes, because he wont let Dean die” but, he DID just tell Lucifer he was ready to watch the people he loves die, but he isnt ready to be his bitch. So really, we dont know what Sam would have chosen in the moment.  So while I wont lie and say Im not salty about low Sam content thus far this season, I am finding the other stories unfolding very interesting. Even what would seem to be very boring stories, have potential to go a very interesting way. I generally dont care about the demons, but what if the fact that they have no ruler, and are scared of Sam, that he unintentionally became the King of Hell?
I dont give a crap about the Angels either, but what if the only way to save them (and yes of course Cas will try to save them) is to release them from The Empty which also unloads a bunch of nasty demons from the past that the boys have killed? Azazel. Lilith. Alistare Ruby? (note: bringing back dead follks has been part of the shows actual formula since S2 and its not going to change. Accept it and stop crying whenever it happens. you dont have to be a fan of the person they brought back, but just accept its always been part of the show) So obviously now, Lucifer is coming back and I too am tired of the character, but I accept that Lucifer will always be the series long big bad and we’ll have to deal with him off and on till the very end. However, now that he has Jack’s grace and Nick has made it obvious that hes a psychopath, what if Lucifer comes back as freakin scary, and not the spoiled 16 yr old he was? How much worse could he be to Sam then? So yeah, I see lots of interesting potential that could unfold from these stories.  This brings me to my final thought. And its just a thought, something Ive been batting around since yesterday. What if Michael is making Jack sick? Just hear me out. Jack wasnt sick till Dean came home. We dont know of him being sick while Cas had him away on a hunting trip, he got sicker after spending time with Dean in 14x06, and is now near death after spending the afternoon with Dean. Dean had a couple of dizzy spells, and possibly even some lapses in memory. Not remembering Jacks last name, when he was born, (but yes, these just may have been normal confusion in the heat of the moment) but Michael can obviously manipulate the biology of a creature. like giving the Djinn more powers that he only needs to touch someone to make their nightmares come to life. What if he’s manipulating Jacks health and when he does so, it makes Dean dizzy? I mean he cant just snap his fingers and Jack explode or he’ll blow his cover right? Make it look natural and no one will suspect anything. Anyway. that part is just a thought. Im sure there’s holes but, it does make me wonder :)

Five @ Five: @wickodi
As a part of our author spotlight, we’ve asked each writer to highlight 5 fics and tell us a little about their experience writing (or reading) them.
1. Reaching In The Dark by @ohmarqueliot
He held onto the image of being bent over by Khal Drogo, and then sighed ruefully. He knew he should go and find that hotel and bargain for the cheapest room they’d give him for cash, but he waited at the corner like the impressively attractive male lead in a romcom as Quentin walked away down the street. He couldn’t help it – he’d been stuck living a life that wasn’t his for the last few months, and seeing someone that he actually knew felt like fresh air had been breathed into him for the first time in so, so long.
A few metres away now, Quentin drained the rest of his coffee and veered towards the trashcan on the edge of the sidewalk, dancing awkwardly around a woman who stopped in her tracks on the path. Quentin kept walking, not noticing that she was staring at him. A moment later she caught sight of Eliot and her brows rose in a way that he would have found comical if he hadn’t been distracted by the swell of anger and irritation that was starting to roll through him. She glanced quickly at Quentin’s back as he walked away, and then turned back to him in bewilderment.
“What the fuck are you doing here?”
Yeah, this wasn’t the help that I was hoping for. Thanks, universe. Sighing heavily, he waved his hand half-heartedly. “Hello to you, too, Alice.”
This entire fic made me cry and laugh and blush all at the best of times. It’s wonderfully written, and actual got me into liking Alice and Eliot as friends. If only it was canon...
Written on Your Heart by Tobiko / @rahnesinclair
A few hours later the pen vanished.
.
Hanna scrubbed Kady raw, ignoring Kady’s squeals and cries. Fucking judgmental parents.
.
Quentin’s father Ted had been a bit worried when Quentin’s arm hadn’t cleared up, but he’d just given Q a reassuring pat on his head and said, “She must be one heck of an artist.”
.
Eliot’s parents grumbled when they saw the scribbles. Soulmates. What useless nonsense.
.
Margo’s entire family had thrown a party in celebration, though they complained to anyone who would listen that it was a bit early and she wouldn’t even remember.
.
Alice was two-years-old and already knew how to hide things from her parents, with a little help from Charlie.
.
Penny’s parents didn’t notice.
Did I mention I’m a slut for group soulmates???
The Zeppo by @adjovi
She chuckled into her mug. My work here’s done. Not more than ten minutes later, Eliot came down, shooting her an obscene grin, lifting her feet and letting them drop into his lap as he slid in beside her. He pulled out a pack of cigarettes, tapping one out and dragging over an empty beer can as an ashtray, one of many littering the floor and tables, sticky remnants of the festivities from the night before. He lit up, looking over at her, blowing out a long plume that curled up and away. “El…you’ll never guess who just skittered out of here…”
“Bambi, be nice.” He took another drag, glancing at her like he meant anything but.
She tilted her head, licking her lips. “Our favorite nerdy little puppy.” He shifted a bit under her, leaning his head back against the sofa, sliding long legs a bit further out. “Didn’t know Q had it in him.”
He didn’t say anything for a moment, which made her start to wonder, and when he answered, his voice was filthy dirty. “Neither did I.” He was smiling in a way she hadn’t seen on him in a long time, eyeing the ceiling.
Her mouth fell open. “You?
Margo’s voice and POV in this is excellent, and it has all the right ships so obviously I’m game :)
All Some Children Do is Work by EdgarAllenCat
He thought he was prepared for whatever horrific thing was behind that front door. He was ready for blood, gore, and death. As it turned out, he wasn’t ready, because there was no way he could have prepared himself to see a tiny girl with brown curls choking out a little boy with a tie. Penny froze and blinked. That wasn’t….was it?
Without thinking  Penny jumped forward and pulled the little girl away before untying the boy’s tie. The boy took a deep, gasping breath. He coughed and rubbed his throat before looking up at Penny with wide, terrified eyes.
“Hey! I almost had it,” the little girl said indignantly, putting her hands on her hips.
Penny looked at her and looked at the boy on the ground and felt his stomach run cold. He wasn’t sure what had happened here, but he knew that Chronomancy had a lot to do with it. In a state of pure shock, he looked around the room, hoping to god he was wrong. His gaze fell upon a gaunt girl with wild curls and hauntingly familiar green eyes.
“Kady?” Penny asked, blinking several times as though to make sure he was seeing this right. There was no way he was mistaken. He had spent so many nights looking into Kady’s eyes that they were forever burned into his memory. Penny could forget a lot of things, but he could never forget the jade green colour of Kady’s eyes.
She tried to move further away, but was pressed against the wall. “How come you know my name,” she asked with fearful suspicion.
What the hell had they done?  Penny looked at the children around him. His friends. “What the fuck did you asshats do?!”
If you ever need just the best feel-good, hilarious, somehow-not-ooc fic, then this is it.
I Am Also a We  by NeverlandHart / @neverlandmagician
“An hour later, Julia is back in her apartment. She swallows a Tylenol for her migraine and walks towards the bathroom. As she waits for the shower to heat up to the perfect temperature, she tries to get herself back into focus. When the water is hot enough, she slips out of her clothes and walks into the shower, pulling the curtain closed. The hot water helps her migraine some, but not enough. After she rinses her hair she turns the water off, opening the curtain and-
There’s a woman standing in the middle of her bathroom, her skin is tan, a slight contrast to her green eyes and dark brown curly hair. She looks as alarmed as Julia feels.
And, well, when it fully hits her, Julia does the first thing that anyone would do when there’s a stranger standing in your apartment.
She screams.”
I love Sense8 so much and the fact that someone is doing a crossover gives me so much joy!!

Let the Stars wash your fears away
Todoroki tossed and turned over and over, his temperature fluctuating from freezing cold to burning hot. It was a normal occurrence for him, the nightmares haunted him ever since he got his scar but as he grew older they subsided only to return after the villain attack at USJ.
Ever since he started going out with Midoriya and moved in with him as soon as they graduated, things started getting easier. Soon he realized that he isn’t the only person plagued with nightmares and that they would often alternate between who would be the one getting them and who will comfort the other. This time fate seemed to decide that Todoroki would be plagued by the nightmares, he would see himself fighting a villain along with Deku, the next moment he would burn down a building and by some twist Izuku was under the building.
He woke up by a jolt, shaken from the nightmare, he hurt the most important person to him, he ended up like his father, a cold and ruthless person.  A comforting hand rested on his shoulder with a soft kiss on it, “another nightmare?” Izuku asked softly in a sleepy voice. Looking at him, those green eyes were still shining with life, though something needed to be done about those black bags underneath his eyes.
“Yeah” he croaked in a hoarse voice, “I don’t want to lose you”
“You won't”
“You don’t know that” Shouto argued back, a little too loud than he wanted, his entire body shook as he recalled his nightmare, “we live with our lives on the line Izuku, we don't know what will happen to us”
“C’mon” Midoriya tugged onto Shouto’s arm and pulled him out of bed. He put on some slippers and Todoroki followed him, wondering why Midoriya took a small blanket but soon received his answer as they went up the stairs of their apartment complex.
Thankfully their building was filled with elderly and so they were the only ones to go up to the roof, they even built a small garden there with some vegetables.
Taking a seat in the small garden chair, Midoriya wrapped them around with the blanket and leaned into him. “Let’s stay up here for a while and clear our minds of everything” the green haired hero suggested, intertwining their hands under the blanket. It wasn’t a winter night per say but the weather was cold enough for their breaths to fog up.
“Izuku do think that I’m like that man?”
“Not in a million years”
“Sometimes it feels like I might hurt the people that I love and are close to me, like one day I will become like him, a cold-hearted hero”
“Shoucchan, you are the kindest and nicest hero I ever met, and I’m not saying this because I’m your boyfriend but I’m saying this from a civilian’s perspective” Midoriya sighed with a soft smile snuggling deeper towards Shouto’s left side, “the way you interact with kids, like you go out of your way to make them smile, like that one winter you build an ice slide for them or helped them so their ice creams won't melt in the summer whether you were on or off duty. And you take more rescue missions than Endeavor ever did, you really are a hero who helps people and make their day instead of beating up the bad guys all year round”
“I know but it’s always there in the back of my mind” Shouto sighs, he really needs to face his demons but it’s always there, that one fear, the one that will never disappear, the one where the scar on his face is a constant reminder.
They both fall into a calming silence, watching stars and stealing glances every now and then, in the cold midnight air, with no one to bother them. It was just the two of them on the roof, watching the stars until they could no longer count, until their eyes became heavy and can’t stay open for another second. They talk and talk about nothing and everything, they tried to guess the constellations even though neither had any idea about astrology or what the constellations are.
Todoroki’s nightmare was long forgotten as he snuggled closer to Midoriya, his head on the younger’s shoulder, his left side radiating heat to warm them up. And as the sun shun its first rays into Midoriya’s eyes, he looked to his shoulder where Shouto was in deep sleep, not bothered by the sun rays or the sound of the cars from the early risers.
A soft smile decorated his face, it was nights like those, after All Might’s death, when they would look at the stars all night and fall asleep, snuggled into each other would he feel alive. The sea of stars that told him of the countless possibilities out there, of the many universes and planets out there, it reminded he is not alone, whether that person was light years away or sleeping on his shoulder.
It was nights like those that Midoriya was grateful to have Todoroki by his side, it was times like those when they can let go of their fears and ghosts and become alive.
