I’ve had people get me to unfollow certain blogs all while they pretend to do, only to keep being friends with them. Why the secrets, why do that, and accuse me of having grudges?  So strange, yes? So, because of that, I no longer allow myself to be so easily influenced, a lesson I learned as a noob out here in Indieland-I follow and unfollow who I want! You should too!

WHY SOMEONE MIGHT LOVE THEM: Jan has a poet’s romantic heart. It’s there, under layers and layers and he will not just hand it to anyone. He’s built like a tank with muscles and a jaw you can cut marble on, so those looks are definitely present, but if one digs, they might find someone lovable there.

WHY SOMEONE MIGHT HATE THEM: He can seem cold and detached. He’s a clean freak who does not allow dogs in his home. Jan does not tolerate bullshit and has a meter that can read it at .00001. His memory is generally like a elephant and he does not tolerate whining. It’s annoying to those who want to try their deception and bullshit on him. His blunt ways have gotten him into plenty of trouble. People who come at him romantically may find an indifferent man and it frustrates them, simply because they expect to have it handed to them. If they think they can make Jan their second choice, they will find themselves kicked to the curb. He’s just difficult.

HOW THEY CHANGE:  If someone digs hard enough past his gruff exterior, there is so much more to offer and he will uncharacteristically spoil that person blind. 

WHY YOU LOVE THEM: After reading “Gutters,” my heart went out to him and I have never looked back. I’ve been RPing this guy for over 6 years, so needless to say, this boy’s my baby! People who IM with me know this- I adore watching him mature, grow and find all the spectrum’s emotions, drama and adventure. It has been a joy and I better stop because I can and will talk forever.

I think we all can get this way, it’s very human. I used to be jealous of this one Ned mun who used to steal my headcannons and RP ideas, like word for word or I RP Jan dancing with someone and they would RP their Ned tangoing the very next day and get the credit for it for their originality, etc. I decided it was flattering as others started noticing the coincidences and I diplomatically announced I would not entertain any hate that people send me about that other Ned. I wanted to foster good vibes, not for others to hate on them, they just needed my ideas. It was flattering, not for me to be jealous about!  It’s all good, I am still here!

story behind url: I had my original blog @cafe-der-nederlanden from 2012-16 and that stems from my love of coffee (My first RP blog was cafe-sverige so you see a trend) so when I decided to venture to Indieland, I wanted to keep that coffee love alive. Koffie huis Love = Coffee house Love. I am addicted, what can I say? Plus, Netherlands likes to take credit on some accounts I’ve read, for bringing coffee to Europe. You’re welcome!

inspiration for muse: Ok, so back in 2012, I was told to read the ever popular fanfic “Gutters” by my then-Finland mun to my Sweden. I was told it was a necessity as a mun to a Nordic muse. So I ripped through it, winding up with a headache from crying so crazy hard. However, there was a small appearance by a certain Netherlands that I simply could not expel from my mind. Who was this guy, besides the few things I’ve seen in fanarts? Why did he do the things he did in Gutters? Was there more than just some junkie pedo that smoked pot all day as I had seen him portrayed outside of Gutters? Could I do it? The ring I was in, well, I ran the ring so I had my “top officers” judge the hell out of my Netherlands application. If I sucked, no big deal, but if I did well enough, I could take it from there. Yep. That was April 2012. Been trying to prove there is more to Jan since that day.
