[Polites had always been the rather stoic type when it came to romance, being one of the only ones left spouseless upon adulthood. Odysseus had asked him to be his best man at his and Penelope's wedding, and he'd gladly accepted, though a certain someone there changed the fact he'd never been much of a romantic.]

[Something about Penelope's maid of honor made Polites' heart flutter, butterflies swarming in his stomach during the celebrations following the ceremony. Though he was able to play it off in front of his friends, he practically melted into a flustered puddle when he and Odysseus went to get changed into more casual attire, beyond confused at this point. Who is that woman? And better yet- what is this feeling??]

[Once he heard Odysseus leave his room, Polites left the room he'd been staying in as well, rubbing his face with his hands in a feeble attempt to hide the flush of his cheeks.]

"Odyyy... I fear I may- I may have a bit of an issue..."

A truly lovely day it was. Odysseus had thanked the gods who blessed them with clear skies and joy felt by the guests and all who attended the wedding. It was a day he would never forget, even when the celebrations had died down to a more relaxed evening with his and Penelope's close-knit connections.

Odysseus did not get far from his room before Polites' voice met his ears. Immediately, the new king looked to his best friend. His earlier smile was replaced by a soft frown, his eyebrows knit in concern at the expression he had never seen upon the other man's face.

"Poli, what is it?" He paused in the hall, his gaze flickering over the other man, searching for any clue that may lead him to the problem.
