today being the second worst day of connie's life...

also just saying, one of my favorite things to do with connie is being able to really balance the sweet and soft parts of her with aspects that absolutely do not get associated with it as much. like she is so kind, and patient, and soft spoken, but also she's a markswoman and really excelled and continues to in hand to hand training. that she adores dressing femininely off duty/in civilian life, and baking, and flowers (like who doesn't tho?) but also has such a high level of grit to her and a determination to be envied.

it just makes her so human and so fun to write.

not me thinking about how connie dies in 2019 in her canon verse and how she's definitely heard about steve being back and possibly even about bucky being still alive. it would be so painful but i hope sometime i'll get a thread where one of them, probably steve, actually comes and visits her, even just calls. it would honestly be more painful for her to learn her (at least in my headcanon, can be changed) childhood friends are still alive but neither can or do say hello.

y'all, if i get nothing else done today, i'll be proud of myself because I, Miss 'Three Months Ago Couldn't Get Out of Bed for More Than Ten Minutes with Passing Out' DID AN HOUR AND A HALF OF YARD WORK TODAY, AN HOUR STRAIGHT NO LESS IN THE HEAT WITHOUT FEELING LIKE I'M GOING TO PASS OUT ONCE. i knew the meds were working to the point i have a good amount of energy but it looks like my stamina is a BIT more in tact than i could've guessed!

and like 90% of the time, she's just like, "oh, sweetheart..."

just thinking about modern connie vibes like.... being stationed far from home so she's found her own little group of people to be with, some colleagues, some just from the most random of encounters. just the vibes of them hanging out, this friend group of people who share so little other than being far from home and being in the service. the camaraderie, the horrific jokes, someone burns something, connie tries to stop the most insane of them from doing something stupid to show off, the laughter, the snarking... i just love it.
