its not the dresses being lacemonsters thats the bad thing (i dont dislike lacemonsters at all, altho cheap lace irks me)- it's trying to pass off miniskirts as lolita and trying to make up new substyles based on kabukicho subcultures where the only difference seemingly is... not being made of decent materials and not being long enough and not fitting a petti? which wouldnt make it a new substyle of lolita, it just makes it not lolita.
DML's new subbrand Emily was unveiled as "Gothic Lolita" brand, much to the pain of actual Lolita fashion enthusiasts.
