Dude. Multiple events in this game have been given an air of gravitas and urgency. The blizzard around the orb of love, the shadow realm shenanigans caused by Gothel, restoring the sunlit plateu: all were treated as urgent and more important than other questlines. Obviously. Because the continued peace and security of your realm is at stake.

So after the emotional gut punch of the dream world, and the first proper confrontation between us and our abandoned MCR emo child self, whom we see tear open the sky in an attempt to usurp reality as we know it-

Merlin & FG take one look at the busted kaleidoscope masquerading as a sky and basically say 'dw it's fine! Keep chilling in the valley as normal. Btw here's a mild questline to follow at your leisure :)'
