The reason he flips out so much is because repairing the pillar in a way that STOPS the cycle should have been impossible. This cleaned up the cracks so there was no cycle and no cracks to leave from. Not exactly why he hung back instead of dipping. Once upon a time, he might have wanted to stop the cycle, "be a hero" but whatever that was, it seems to have locked him into the mortal realm forever. I've been thinking about why it kinda took the olympics to get Gabby on people's radar with her playing her 5th year in the W. I think part of it is that she's a very selfless player and just does what the team needs her to do. She will sacrifice her stats for the team, cause she doesn't care.

France needs Gabby to score and be that player that puts the team on her shoulders. When she played for Chicago this wasn't the case nor was it in her other seasons with the storm to this degree. Most people only care about what shows up on the scoreboard.

I think Gabby needs a coach, Staff and Teammates that believe in her and have her back (after what happened in Chicago) so Coach say that she believes Gabby can be great means alot.

So I've been thinking a lot about a swap AU for Demon Slayer and I just want to write out my thoughts on here. I enjoy looking at other versions of this au and I just had my own thoughts/takes on it.

@garcavisconde aight Imma take this as you giving me permission to talk about my OCs and their story 😅

So, my player character is named Marjory. She used to work at Playtime as one of the people who actually put the toys together (I know they have machines but some toys are still handmade). She met and fell in love with Ethan, who is also a Playtime worker, he designs the toys! The two end up getting married too :3 Neither of them know about the fact that the experiments are done using children and employees. (I'm convinced not everyone knew)

He has to create the smiling critters, and since she likes dogs a lot, he made DogDay! He immediately becomes Marjory's favorite.

SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 3 START HERE

So, when Playtime need someone to become DogDay, he volunteered because he's Marjory's favorite. He only tells her he's gonna be part of an experiment, but not what it is.

He ends up becoming DogDay, but Marjory has no idea, to her, her husband just disappeared. When she asks Playtime, they don't tell her, so she quits because she doesn't want to be there anymore.

Years later, she is determined to go back and find out what happened. She packs a knife and gun just in case and goes.

Chapters 1 and 2 are pretty much the same as they actually are ingame. Chapter 1 she is pretty bad at using the grabpack, chapter 2 she's doing better, and by chapter 3 she is really good at it. It all goes normal until she finds DogDay tied up in the Playhouse. She's skeptical at first, but then she finds out it's her husband, so she cuts his cuffs, and basically stuffs him between her back and the grabpack.

He thinks he's just gonna slow her down, but she will not leave without him again! He helps her by alerting her of enemies and things, also during the CatNap boss.

In the end, when Poppy sees him she's kinda apprehensive, but Marjory immediately shuts her down. Either he flees with them, or they don't flee. Now she's even more determined to get out.

That's all I have for now since we don't have chapter 4 yet, maybe I'll add to it when it comes out!

I also lowkey wanna turn this into a fanfic, if I get enough motivation and people would wanna read it of course.

Leosagi/Leochi in Musicals

I have noticed that some people are putting the Epic Musical associated with ROTTMNT (Mostly revolving around Leo). I just have to say, I haven’t listened to the Epic Musical, but my God why hasn’t anyone done Leosagi in other musicals 😭. I haven’t watched many musicals, but here are some suggestions (that no one will use 💀).

Musicals That Can Fit Leosagi/Leochi

Hamilton - Historical Musical about Founding Father Alexander Hamilton

I’ve seen people using this in other fandoms. For this one it’s mostly Casey and Future Leo. But to include Usagi:

“Helpless“ - The roles technically don’t matter, but Leo could be Eliza (because he has a lot of siblings and also is blue) and Usagi could be Alexander. Usagi’s friends could be Laf, Muligan, or Laurens. Very wholesome song! It could also be reversed with Leo as Alexander. His brothers would be Laf (Donnie), Mulligan (Mikey/Raph), Laurens (Mikey/Someone Else), or Aaron (Raph/Donnie) if this was the case.

“Satisfied” - For some Angst, Leo or Usagi wouldn’t be Eliza 💀 (or if people ship Donsagi, idk the name, then this is a perfect song LOL)! Usagi could be Angelica and Leo Alexander or vise versa. (Context: Angelica and Eliza are siblings, Angelica is the oldest and likes Hamilton. However, she sees her sister Eliza likes Alex as well, so Angelica sets Eliza and Alex up and the two are getting married. Basically, a love triangle)

“Congratulations“ or “First Burn” / “Burn” - This is just to cause more Angst and rub salt over the wound to match with “Satisfied”. “Burn” is basically Eliza and Alexander breaking up because of “Say No To This” when Alex has an affair.

“Dear Theodosia“ - Can be used for the headcanon of Jotaro as Leosagi’s kid & Aaron Burr as Cassandra which would make Theodosia as Casey Jr. 

“Blow Us All Away” and “Stay Alive (Reprise)” - Used as the above. Jotaro can be Phillip (Alex and Eliza’s son). Or maybe replace the son as Casey Jr. Either way, could be a fun idea.

In The Heights - Hispanic musical with people who have a dream and struggling with identity/poverty. (Idk how to describe it).

This musical can be use for those fans who like to headcanon the Hamato children knowing Spanish. There are 2 couples in this play (Benny and Nina | Vanessa and Usnavi) that could fit Leosagi and there is a musical and a movie (I prefer movie audio since it sounds newer than the musical since that’s kinda old).

“The Club“ - Just for funsies. Leo/Usagi getting jealous that the other is gaining a lot of attention on the dance floor with other men (Imma assume Leo aka Vanessa is on the dance floor).

“Blackout” - Follows right after the previous song. Only part that would fit here is an audio most might have heard. The whole “You barely even danced with me” and then “Don’t make me laugh, I’ve been trying all night, you’ve been shaking your ass with half of the Heights”.

“When You’re Home“ - Could be wholesome with using Usagi as Benny (since there’s no confirm race) and Leo as Nina (Afro-Latino and half Japanese moment? Black Hispanic and half Japanese?).

“Sunrise“ - This is only in the musical version, but it’s so cute!! Takes place after “Blackout” where Nina and Benny found each other and stayed with each other. Nina teaches Benny some Spanish. “Well how do you say kiss me?” “Besume” “and how do you say hold me?” All of that. And also a moment where Benny is scared that Nina’s dad is going to know that Nina is with him (Nina’s dad disproves of Benny). Obviously, Leo is Nina and Benny is Usagi.

Bare: A Pop Opera - (TW: Self-harm also Drugs) Gay musical with two boys struggling in a Catholic Boarding School. They are secretly dating, but one wants the come out and the other doesn’t because of his strict father (also he has a twin).

I really recommend this musical, it might be slow but it can get you in your feels. Btw, it’s a sad musical (Trigger warning). Honestly, any songs can fit because it’s literally a gay story. Also a theater Romeo and Juliet play they are doing. A play within a musical.

“You And I“ - Listening to the lyrics ummm, Leo fits almost TOO WELL with being Jason 😂 Jason is the one with a twin named Nadia (who believes she is fat and she harms herself). Their dad is rich and Jason is the favorite sibling. Anyways, Jason is Leo and Peter is Usagi. This song is an introduction to how they are together (always being in secret and having to pull away when people are around).

“Plain Jane Fat Ass“ - Twin moment with Jason (Leo) and Nadia (Donnie). Angst or Hurt/Comfort with the two.

“Best Kept Secret“ - Self explanatory

“Ever After” - THIS SONG OMG. So Leo and Usagi are having a heated argument and it’s tense and pretty sad.

“Wedding Bells“ - Angst. Usagi imagines Leo with another person.

“See Me“ - This is gonna have to change, so Peter is trying to come out to his mother, but she is clearly trying to ignore it. So This could be Leo being Peter and Splinter being the mom.

“God Don’t Make No Trash“ - Sister Chantelle (I didn’t spell that right. Anyways this is definitely Mikey aka Dr. Feels) and Peter talking about sexuality (kinda).

I don’t know who can be considered as “Father”. Maybe Draxum or Big Mama.

“Bare“ - Hurt, no comfort between Peter and Jason.

Be More Chill - Awkward teens who are trying to be cool so they take a pill (From JAPAAAAAAN) and they are controlled kinda.

Main character, Jeremy, likes this quirky girl named Christine, so he’s trying to be cool to get with her. If you heard the audio (”I’m waiting for my porno to load”) then that’s this musical. I did see multiple Donnie animations (and a Leo) with the song “Michael In The Bathroom”. Yeah that’s this musical. Maybe Christine (Usagi), Jeremy (Leo), and Michael (Donnie).

The Idea: I included this musical mainly because the whole idea if that teenagers are trying to be cool by taking a pill that (roughly, hard to explain) has a person in their head who “helps” them be cool (in actuality, a douche or a player). With the headcanons of The Krang still in control of certain Turtles, I thought well maybe instead of inserting something like “Mind Raph”, just make the person in the head (aka a Squip) just the Krang 😂 (Same can be used for BeetleJuice The Musical)

“A Guy That I’d Kinda Be Into“ - Pretty cute song from Christine (Usagi).

“Be More Chill Pt. 1″ - Basically when the Squip comes in. Like listen and imagine the Krang behind the voices trying to manipulate people 💀

“The Pitiful Children“ - Basically a ‘world domination’ song. So just Krangs.

Heathers - Basically the movie.

This potentially fits the 2003 Leosagi more, I have no idea. At least, if we make JD Miyamoto. TW: Murders, Explosives, E.D., Suicide, Drugs/Alcohols, and attempt S.A.

“Beautiful” Or “Candy Store“ - The roles (based on colors) are Chandler (Raph), Duke (Donnie), MacAmera (Didn’t spell that right, Mikey), Kurt & Ram (The Foot Dudes? Bebop & Rocksteady), Martha (Todd? LOL), JD (Usagi).

“Meant To Be Yours” - Please, I need Psychopathic Usagi or Leo, I’ll take any 😭

Heathers: The Musical (2022), another version of the musical with some altered lyrics and added songs with a bit new style of musical form. “I Will Never Shut Up Again” - Wonderful song for Duke, would like to see an animation of Donnie (I like villain songs, lol).

“Seventeen“ - Wholesome song, hurt/comfort kinda, where Usagi and Leo are singing about having a life together (and not a life of being murderers).

I would add “Dead Girl Walking” but this fandom seems to not do much NSFW stuff with this ship, so I’ll exclude that song along with “Blue” as a suggestion.

Not Move Fast?! (Peter maximoff)

I walk down the stairs to the basement of my boyfriends moms house to where he usually is i mean it is his room i see him on the bed looking weird i walk over to him and sit down on the bed peter looking up at me almost a look of. Pain?

"Woah peter you okay?" I ask worried "ive just never seen you like this you're usually happy and running around and fast what's wrong baby?" I ask my hand finally reaching up to glide through his silver hair moving it out of his face a bit when i feel a wave of heat hit my hand i lay my palm flat against his forehead and yup he has a fever

"You're burning up peter" i say and his face scrunches up almost angrily and disappointed "i feel just really sick i dont know my stomach hurts my head hurts i dont feel good I just god i wish i wasnt sick" he says and i look at him sympathetically before standing up grabbing the small trashcan with a bag inside of it thats in peters room and i put it next to peter on the floor in case he throws up or something and i go over to the small fridge thats there too and grab a ice pack and grab a towel wrapping it around the ice pack and i walk over to peter putting the ice pack on the night stand next to his bed

I lay down his pillows and he lays down onto them quickly by accident and he whines in pain moving to hover over the trash can and i move his hair a bit giving him a moment before he finally grabs the trashcan and starts to throw up into it (poor baby😕) (im sorry if you have emetophobia thats what its called right or wtv where ur scared of throw up but i would do this for peter)

I rub his hot back soothingly "let it all out baby" i say as he throws up more making me feel bad and empathy for him after a moment and him no longer throwing up just making sure he doesnt again as he breathes heavily trying to take deep breaths and i let go of his hair for a moment and stand up rushing to grab some paper towels or something so he can wipe his nose and mouth and stuff

He lays back onto the pillows taking deep kinda heavy breaths i grab some water and some pills off the night stand and pour 2 into my hand and give them to peter which he pops into his mouth and i guide a glass of water to his lips which he drinks greatfully and goes to lay back down which i grab the back of his head gently laying his head down back onto the pillows

I move his hair off his forehead gently and grab the ice pack putting it on his head him feeling a little more cool and he lets out a soft sigh of relief making me smile a bit "you cant move fast peter if you do you'll make yourself more sick" i say softly my hand on his cheek my thumb softly rubbing his cheek as well as he looks up at me sickly "what? Cant Move Fast?!" He says loud and regrets it the pressure from yelling making his head hurt more and i put my hand on his chest gently "take it easy handsome, yes dont move fast you're only in bed unless you have to use the restroom or something and when you go to lay back down ill be here cs i dont trust you to lay down slow" i say and he nods softly knowing im right

"But its hard y/n, thats literally my mutation i move fast its how i think its how i talk its how i move" he says and i look at him understandingly "i know but would you rather throw up and be sick because your being fast or not be sick because your getting rest?" I ask "be fast" he says "peter" i say intimidatingly "fine okay i would rather be getting rest" he says and he crosses his arms pouting making me smile at the silver headed boy infront of me

"God you're such a cutie" i say as i lean down and leave a soft kiss against his temple which the ice pack isnt covering a little and i sit back straight up looking at peter whos looking at me lovingly and i cant help but smile "imma get you some soft food okay?" I ask and he nods softly careful not to hurt his head as he watches me walk up the steps and to the kitchen to make him some food

After some cooking and cleaning i finally got the food done i even got the kitchen more clean which is good cause magda peters mom has some tough times and im always happy to help her out i grab a tray with food and carefully walk down the steps and see peter lift his head up and he looks at me almost like relief or his eyes maybe lit up? Hm.

"You okay?" I ask softly and he nods and i gently place the tray in his lap which he uses his hands to steady it and he takes some bites of the food happy to get food back into his system and after a bit he finishes his food without his abilities and i take the tray back and go upstairs putting the dishes in the sink and i walk back downstairs to peter i sit down on the bed grabbing his wrist softly just to touch his skin a bit since i cant really kiss him and stuff "im sorry you have to take care of me" he says and i laugh softly "what?" Peter asks "i enjoy taking care of the only person i truly love wouldnt you too?" I ask squinting my eyes at him "of course" he says a smile spreading on his face finally, making me happy

"What are you planning on doing?" Peter asks after a moment of silence "probably just wash dishes and clean the house a bit before your mom gets back from work" i say and he nods softly "you need anything else?" I ask and he shakes his head and i start to stand up to go upstairs when peter grabs my wrist gently but firmly and i turn looking at him "can you not leave please? I dont wanna be alone i just want you here" he says and my gaze softens i knew something was wrong "lay with me please?" He asks using his puppy eyes that always make my knees buckle and i cave

"Fine" i say as i get into the bed next to peter letting the blanket fall on top of me and i turn to look at peter which he puts his arms out invitingly and i smile rolling my eyes playfully before i wrap my arms around his waist and cuddle up to his chest and he holds me there

"You're gonna get me sick mister" i say and i feel and hear him chuckle a bit "well at least ill be able to take care of you" he says a smile spreading widely on my face and i look up at him love filled in my eyes and his as well and i kiss his temple softly again before closing my eyes letting myself relax into peter

As i drift off to sleep his cooling down but still pretty hot body against mine but thats fine and i fall sleep comfortably in peters arms once again...

"Atreus, what are we doing?" Kratos calls as he trails behind his son, watching the young man leap from outcrop to outcrop. Atreus had suggested they visit the Lake earlier that day, not really explaining why, only requesting it. Kratos assumed that it would be to hunt or fish for food- they need all that they can get with this enternal winter- but he has quickly realized that this is, not, in fact the case.

At the sound of his voice, Atreus looks up from the rock he'd just been looking under, water lapping at the base of it. Most of the Lake has frozen over at this point, except for a few small pools surrounding larger rocks upon the beach. Atreus has been scouring these the entire time, popping up and out from behind them every now and again.

"Fishing," Atreus says. He darts to the next pool, dropping to his hands and knees to try and get a better look into the water. Kratos raises a brow, because it does not seem as if they are fishing. Atreus appears to be scavenging.

He grunts, conveying he wants Atreus to further explain himself. The boy does so, "I'm looking for a specific kinda fish." He hops to his feet. Must not have found the specific fish. He hurries to the next pool, which is hidden between two larger rocks. He shimmies himself between them for a better view. He continues, "Surtsrömming."

Kratos frowns, his nose scrunching subconsciously. He does not like that fish, and there are still plenty of other kinds. Kratos is not a picky person when it comes to food. Food is food. But this fish? Rotten. He would rather avoid eating it if possible.

"Why." He steps onto the rocks behind Atreus, arms crossed over his chest. "You do not like it."

"Yeah I know," Atreus says, hand darting down a thin crack between stone. He grimaces when it comes back empty. He looks back up at his father. "But... it smells."

He continues down the frozen beach, and so Kratos follows. He waits for further explanation. "I feel bad for Mimir," Atreus finally says, revealing why they're here. Not completely, but it's the start of it. "He can't eat anymore, and I see him looking at us eating jealously."

"What does that have to do with rotting fish?"

"It smells!" Atreus exclaims, throwing his hands in the air. "He can taste something that smells really strong!"

That... has logic to it, no matter how fragile. Kratos can see what Atreus is getting at with this.. "strategy" of his. Of course he is worried about Mimir being left out during meals, it's just like him. So of course he'd try to find a way to include Mimir...

...No matter how foul smelling.

Speaking of which, the pungent scent of rotting fish hits Kratos's nose and Atreus perks up. He rushes towards the smell and bends over, letting out a happy whoop as he holds up a handful of... nearly rotten fish. The perfect condition to create surtströmming... wonderful.

"Found some!" Atreus exclaims with excitement. "Come on, let's get it ready!"

And so they get it ready.

Kratos ends up cooking fish stew- not from the surtströmming- to try and cancel out some of the rotting fish scent for when Atreus brings it out. His boy brings Mimir to the dinner table, the head rambling about one thing or the other as he's set down.

"Dinner looks great tonight, brother!" Mimir chirps, his eyes aglow. "I can almost imagine how it tastes!"

"Be prepared for more," Kratos grunts, sitting himself down at the table. Mimir raises a brow at him, about to speak, when Atreus brings over a plate of the surtströmming. His nose wrinkles back instantly.

"Oh, god! What is that?!"

Atreus sits down beside Mimir with a triumphant grin. "Your dinner."

"What? Lad, I can't eat-"

"No, but you can taste it, right?"

Mimir stops, considering. Atreus watches him closely, anxious to see if his idea has worked as he'd planned. Mimir hesitantly takes a deeper whiff of the horrible smell, and his face relaxes.

"That's surtströmming, aye?" he asks, whimsical. How is he whimsical about that scent?

"Yep!" Atreus says, vibrating in his seat.

"I can certainly... taste it," Mimir says thoughtfully. He sighs heavily. "Why, thank you lad. I see what you were thinking... Now, how about I tell you about the time I ate surtströmming with the goddess Ran?"

"You did not," Atreus says with disbelief. But Mimir only chuckles, and dives into the retelling.

Kratos half listens, watching his small family at the dinner table.

Imma be honest with you, before BATDR came out, you literally held this fandom together with bandaids and stick glue. 2019-2022 was basically the dry age of Bendy content

i Do enjoy being in a fandom, i've always looked up to the danny phantom phandom a lot cause the vibes there are just fantastic, there's a lot of things going on, people have many interactions with each other, so i wanted to try to introduce that to the batim fandom and i'd like to think that i sorta did

i know that it is a popular opinion to not engage with a large portion of the fandom but instead just grab a few friends and sit in a corner with them but like

engaging with a bigger portion of the fandom every now and then can be SO fun and give people an opportunity to meet other people and idk

fandoms are communities of people just united by liking A Thing so it can be challenging to make a space for many people to get along but i dont recall any super serious only fandom related dramas in batim?? weirdos are in every fandom and you just blast their asses into oblivion with a block button

and there have been cases when i felt kinda bad for blocking someone because that meant i'd exclude them from something i wanted to think of as a fandom-wide event for everyone who would obey it's rules but that's where this outlook on curating your experience into a smaller circle is very much the way to go lol

aha yea 2019-2022 everything fucking DIED here but i was having a blast drawing my comic and also a lot of people who were into the sides of batim i was into mainly (the human characters) stayed around more than everyone else and it was really chill, i've met a lot of people and made many friendships :)

as the fandom was getting smaller there was a noticable drop in the amount of notes batim related posts were getting which is a very big symptom of a fandom dying but i think at some point it sorta stabilized who stayed there after batdr was delayed and delayed

i reblog and tag more than an usual tumblr user (when im active cuz sometimes i can not reblog anything for months because im busy lol) and that didnt start without a reason, it sure is a habit now and i really enjoy doing it, letting people know what i think about their stuff and putting nice things on display for others to see

reblogs are not just crucial for singular artists but also for fandoms as a whole, thats how you keep that train rollin

though here is a sad thing that many many artists dont reblog a lot, or reblog to their sideblogs that arent followed by nearly as many people as their main blogs

and thats like understandable, im the weirdo who puts a whole mess of many posts on my main but i think thats also the most effective way to help other people get traction and i never see this mentioned when people complain that tumblr users dont reblog as much stuff as they like

its even kinda funny to me when people complain about their stuff not getting reblogged when they dont reblog others stuff themselves at all xD though there is a bit of cyanide in that thought heheh

on the other hand reblogging doesnt work on stuff that i could see from other people: the stuff i reblog i get from browsing the bendy and the ink machine tag sorted by new + sometimes when i bored i scroll through my dash and reblog some random things but i follow 2k people so i dont really see any individuals art specifically, just a collection of random posts that i am able to scroll through in a few minutes (and every minute theres a bunch of new posts posted/reblogged by those i follow)

and that can take a long time! if ive been busy for months then scrolling through a few months worth of stuff people around the world made for bendy is so bad even on a beefy computer that it just pushes tumblr to its limits and takes HOURS to reblog and tag for me, and then i might even hit the daily post limit and have to continue tomorrow

but i enjoy doing this, bendy is my fixation after all and i fucking love art and what people can create for this thing that i like i soooooo desire to see it all

and i try to reblog as much as possible, though i dont obviously reblog *everything* from the tag, sometimes i just give a like or i just dont like the thing cuz its not in my liking and thats it

but i did make it a thing that during ink demonth i reblog all entries for the event no matter what my opinion of them is just to give some of that Exposure TM because hey maybe some of my followers Will like it

i dont run a super duper popular blog but there is a bunch of yall there and i think me reblogging something in this fandom at least may give a litol boost to the notes on a post

So here I am, feel free to ignore if I'm breaking any boundaries.

 Your story actually made me think of Tim’s process through the trauma and mainly how he processes most adult things. I do like soft, hurt, self-sacrificing Tim like any hot, red blooded fan, of course.

But let me argue that Tim Drake is not a child child, he has been his own responsible adult since he was six. He learned budgeting and bills and taxes and stranger danger and all the things adults eventually teach children from TV/the internet and he is not ashamed of it.

Kinda that when Jack and Janet left him alone with a housekeepr, he basically parentified himself.

So in comes the 12/13 year old who sees Batman tiptoeing the edge and goes: I can fix this dude so hard!

And yeah, Bruce is almost lost to his grief and barely conscious of the utter shitshow around him, “sure, whatever kid, be Robin, but train with other adults, I’m too broken hearted to adult right now. Oh, you learned from Alfred and Dick, great, Imma teach you and oh, you disappeared for a while, huh, you got even better, I wonder what you did, well whatever let’s go on patrol.”

And years pass, Bruce heals, he gets his family back, he gains allies and perspective.

And he realizes he is home and Tim’s tiny hand is pulling hin towards the bathroom and he is confused.

Tim, on the other hand, is so used to Bruce’s shit, that he simply taps him on the back of the knees to make him kneel by the toilet bowl and goes: “Okay, you feel up to puking on your own or should I make you?”

And Bruce is even more confused because his children usually weren’t like this, they were soft and depended on his stability, none of his children should see him this vulnerable.

And maybe he takes a little too long to reply because suddenly Tim is shoving two fingers down his throat while holding the back of his head and suddenly Bruce is vomiting and Tim pats his heaving back and makes sure none of it goes in his  hair while TSKING because “Really Bruce? Don’t be a baby, my hand can’t hurt that much, I’m like 13.”

And Bruce, for once, realizes he is not the parent in this relationship and he is not sure how it happened.

You can extrapolate Bruce Mommy/Daddy-issues Wayne would definitely fall for that scarily inteligent teen that has become his highly unimpressed new mommy if you like.

Or he simply tries (and fails) to parent this child who somehow doesn’t need him like Dick and Jason and Damian ever did and he is frightened that if Tim doesn’t need him he will leave.

Which is why Tim gets more benefits than Dick and Jason ever did at his age COMBINED.

A car? You got it.

A Ducatti? Red, black or both?

Your own team instead of integrating you to Dick’s? SURE THING!

It is quite telling that even if Dick is Bruce’s oldest adopted child and the one he is trusting the mission to, TIM is the one who is supposed to inherit the company and thus Batman’s biggest source of income and Bruce’s charity and social justice pet projects in case of Bruce’s death.

i love your tim HC so much because it reallly does align with how he behaves so often! tim is a child who has, often, had to parent himself. in the comics it’s implied that the majority of his developmental years in school were spent in boarding schools where his only supervisors were teachers and the few adults whose job were to look out for them. but even then tim would’ve had to learn how to deal with a lot of things himself- he had to put himself to bed, decide what and how to regulate his diet, how to deal with interpersonal issues along with any tension that came with living with another kid his age. tim is essentially a young adult in a child’s body. and to contrast that is bruce. who arguably, while he is an adult, lacks a lot of the landmark developmental milestones that tim has already had (through no choice of his own). 

bruce has alfred as a kind of crutch so many of the “adult” things tim experienced were things he never learned or developed the skills for. hence why when they came together, tim who was the more responsible, mature, and developed “adult” took care of bruce. it’s such an upside down pineapple situation where bruce is the grown up but the child and tim is the child but the grown up. so tim caring for bruce like when he gets poisoned and needs to vomit, tim treats him like a child who has swallowed something he wasn’t supposed to. he falls into caring for bruce like it’s a routine and bruce is struck with the realization of what had been happening while his head was buried in the sand from his grief.

bruce has sooo many hangups about his parents and their deaths, his relationship with them has guided so much of his life and how he expresses (or doesn’t express) his love. alfred had cared for and loved him but always maintained him an arm’s length away perhaos out of respect for bruce and the relationship he had with his parents. but tim! tim treats him in that soft way his mother did, taking a rag and dabbing away the sweat from his brow when bruce starts sweating buckets after vomiting. so many things tim does for him reminds bruce so starkly of his mother and father and it kind of makes him uncomfortable but that feeling gets trampled by and is the reason he never puts a stop to it - he likes it. he likes being doted on and cared for, he like that tim feeds him warm broths, oatmeals, and chicken soup. he likes that tim presses featherlight kisses to his scrapes and cleaned wounds. with tim there’s no expectation of him to make the first move, be responsible, or be the parent. not like there was with jason or dick.

but there’s also the fact that bruce no longer offers something to tim. safety, protection, etc. the things you expect from a parent. tim doesn’t want them, in fact he’s the one who provides them because bruce startles awake from a bad dream and tim is already there to comfort him.

bruce attempting to become the parent in their dynamic similarly failing leaves him scrambling and leaves him scared about the fact that tim could leave him.

this fundamentally changing their dynamic is so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its why tim gets more leeway than the others, why he’s treated differently and “allowed” so much independence. i think if jason and dick weren’t so preoccupied with their own lives and issues they might stop and be like “hey wtfff”.

tim and bruce’s relationship and dynamic is one of the most fascinating to me because the two of them are mirrors, foils, and almost caricatures of each other in some cases. the two of them share so much in common but are also fundamentally different people. if tim had been in bruce’s shoes from birth he would’ve likely followed the same path but been different. same with bruce. if he had been the little idealistic boy whose parents more or less neglected him, he would’ve followed the same path as tim had but been....different. the two of them are such good characters, their shared history and dynamic is fascinating and thank you so much for this really good deep dive into their character and relationship!!!!!!! it’s so good!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally fucken read the scanlations of the chapter and imma be real with yall, Tabata fumbled this immensely.

Allow me to explain.

All things considered, Jack's "death"* feels incredibly bland, not just how it's handled but also how it affects his character and the overall theme Black Clover has.

*(Tabata has a trend of coping out deaths, so I'm hoping this is a red herring to sort of divert our attention from probably the fact that Yuno's spell won't hold on forever, so we're, ironically, on a race against time. This also may be a sort of Fuegoleon situation, considering we haven't seen the Earth Spirit/Gnome yet, so considering Jack's blade magic is a sort of "final" earth form (earth>> ore>> metal>> weapon>> blade) but maybe that's just me on copium. We Shall See)

With his character, the death feels kinda bland and showy. Tabata's main good ability in writing characters is by putting a different spin on them or flipping the tropes. In Jack's case, he's supposedly the bloodthirsty battle maniac trope, with his complicated and restrictive home life actually being a reason for his carefree battle attitude. The PROBLEM here is that Tabata put too little time in his development/roster, not really enough of his own thoughts, and the last slash ends up being less of a "I choose how I will die, and I'll die swinging" and more of "all I can think about is slashing and that's what I'll do dying", which completely fucks up the whole character.

Jack is, as we know it, the ONLY Clover born commoner captain. Everyone else is either nobility or immigrants with ridiculous magic (Yami may have been technically considered nobility but his foreign status is more important to his character, we have so little info on Dorothy's life I'm not even gonna speculate). By all sense and means, Jack was likely the only captain who even accepted commoners and peasants with average skills. One could argue he was probably the first commoner captain, considering Zara was the first peasant magic knight, only about 20+ years ago.

This, coupled with Jack's very vague character writing, shows that Tabata didn't really know HOW to write him in an interesting/meaningful way. So he essentially kills him off because he doesn't know what to do with him.

This falls back into how the death itself is contradictory to the themes BC has. The theme Black Clover has, by essence, is that "peasants/those weren't born lucky or talented can strive to reach great, if not greater, heights as those above them using hard work and determination" as well as "the class system affects everything, and by being inherently bigoted, it infects every other system in regards to it". The problem here is with Tabata's writing falling into "tell not show" categories (whether its because of page limits, editor influence or other things), by trying to show both themes at the same time, he ends up punishing the underdogs MORE than those who are inherently privileged (nobles with lots of mana), if not actively rewarding them.

This could be attributed to either how much time Tabata spends on other characters vs those he ignores or how very few of the cast with ACTIVE roles in the story belong to the middle/lower class.

For example, Yuno's abilities and powerups in Spade arc and this current one FEEL like asspulls, mostly because despite being one of the main trio, we're not given a lot of time to SEE how he gets it/develops it. If we had previously seen a montage of him training to develop his skills in the 3 day period before the raids and the 3 days before Lucius comes knocking or even the 1.5 YEAR TIMESKIP, a LOT of the complaints about it being an asspull would be null because we'd actually see the work being put into it.

The opposite can be said for Jack. Jack falls into essentially the same category as Asta and Magna - people of lower classes that have to work harder than those above them to reach the same heights, but by putting more effort into it, the underdog status triumphs over the naturally gifted.

This could be seen all the way back in Spade arc, with Jack developing skills mid battle to face off/stall Dante, then being the one to silently kill him off to not sour the victory Magna got. Its GOOD that it was Jack who assisted in the kill because he was of the lower class like Magna and Zora and Asta. In addition, keeping silent about it doesn't sour the victory either because Jack likely knows the feeling of having hard earned kills being stolen.

Even the contribution against Lucifero is, even if minor, still valued because he's not the only one who got beat up, ALL of the captains got smacked up to show the threat Lucifero was.

The problem in character writing falls in this recent chapter, with Jack being the first fatality.

One could say that Lucius is being inherently bigoted in his own way - he's born of a noble lineage, all of the paladins are of nobility as well and its implied that the legless angels, who were described as "rebels" were actually peasants. Its a good choice, considering that Lucius is supposed to be the almost last antagonist, so he essentially HAS to show that he's a bit of a racist to uphold the themes of the story. He's both the Puritan and Calvinist wave in Christianity, while also claiming that those born with less mana are inherently more weak and should be erased and "rebuilt" to have the same amount of magic as everyone.

The problem in it is that not only does it undermine a lot of the peasants/commoners who actively got merit through hard work, it's also giving eugenics and the Christian idea that you "deserve" flaws that you were born with/can't control and thus further pushing classist/racist ideology. Lucius is still commiting genocide against the lower class and still is falling into the idea that "once everyone has the same amount of large mana, there will be no wars :)", indirectly blaming the lower class for disparities done by the upper class.

However, with his attack on Clover by fighting against those struggling to still live, would clash with the peasant/commoner ideology that no amount of effort gone into bettering yourself is wasted. All effort to become better is still valuable and Clover Kingdom fighting against the sentries/paladins/Lucius would SHOW that.

The problem is that Jack dying is not helping the idea or the narrative. Even the final slash only so much as leaves a massive canyon in the ground and kills off maybe 2 or 3 sentries, while Morgan is "miraculously" still without a scratch. Its equal parts infuriating and makes Jack's death feel for naught. Even the final regret of not being able to slash Yami only makes him fall more into a 2 dimensional character trope. It ends up with Tabata actively punishing the underdogs and trying to get rid of the characters who he's SUPPOSED to be able to write, as per the story.

Unless the final massive slash somehow does something to either turn the tides/bring Asta home/hell, even just getting him a spirit/demon contract, it falls flat for the narrative and doesn't progress his character.

So far there's no ACTIVE show that Jack is completely dead and done for outside of a forth of his grimoire already disappearing, so maybe there's still some last minute death save for him. I hope, because otherwise, Justice 4 Jack.

My mind has gotten jumbled with thoughts of that Life Is Strange au, so imma spit out the questions/thoughts I have here-

Admittedly, most of what I remember about life is Strange is Chloe's (AKA Donnie here) side of things, and it got me thinking

Chloe's got a step dad, and I had to wonder if Donnie has one too. And my mind went immediately to Draxum, and that's just... something to think about, I guess, but I can see it and it's kinda funny

One of the things I do remember but had jumbled in my head as to how things went down was that, in a separate timeline in the game because time shenanigans, Chloe had gotten severely injured and was bedridden for the rest of her life. But the incident that caused this wouldn't really happen the same way in this au, if at all.

Then, after making comments and mentioning Raph's spared only to get the response that he wasn't really spared, I had to wonder if maybe this incident did happen, but in the same timeline and away from Donnie, maybe. Or, maybe even the incident is the reason for the divorce in the first place?

I dunno, my brain is thinking things but it's hard to put them down in a cohesive way sometimes and it doesn't help that I'm trying to limit spoilers just in case

how the alt timeline (where Chloe gets paralyzed) happens here is VERY different, because I did not really like it.

Chloe's dad dying in the car accident = the day Splinter left Donnie with Big mama

In this AU the bad timeline is when Mikey tries to alter the past to get all of them to leave with Splinter, but instead he mucks up and HE is the one left behind.
