Hello! I was jw, since you seem to be someone particularly outspoken about this, what is the issue with making nsfw fanart of the gaang? Obviously as long as they're over 18, definitely adults, and it's not something overly explicit, I don't get the problem? I feel like almost everyone in the atla fandom seems to forget that canonically the whole gaang is either dead or like 90, so.... they def didn't stay kids forever. Am I missing something? I'm genuinely asking.

it’s to do with the fact that in like 95% of ATLA material we see the gaang as kids and teenagers. yes, there’s art of them in their adulthood and we get flashbacks in LOK, but i highly doubt that the people who make nsfw art of the gaang waited until we saw them as adults before drawing them in sexual situations. i would bet that the vast majority of nsfw gaang art is the artist simply aging up their kid selves, which is hugely inappropriate and gross.

and i know a lot of people don’t intend for it to be taken that way and genuinely don’t think there’s anything wrong with what they’re doing, but aging kid characters up so you can draw them having sex is like......... why do you need to do that. i mean i just find porn of fictional characters weird anyway, but maybe that’s just me.

however! when it comes to stuff like making a/c/e icons of the characters we see as kids, which i think i’ve been a little more outspoken abt than art, i think it’s totally fine as long as you use art of them as adults.

when you look through a tag to see if your content is showing up in tags because a post completely died and instead find untagged pr0sh¡p content
