Case Study B – ERP for OCD as a Company Director
Client Profile
Name: Alex
Age: 43
Occupation: Director of an International Publishing Company
Location: London, UK
Issue: Intrusive thought about coming to harm
Background
Alex was experiencing intrusive thoughts over 15 years. Alex had managed these, however, due to persona changes and workload, thoughts had increased in frequency and intensity.
for what it seemed to be due to stress and burnout due to the intense demands of the role. Due to the lack of sleep their health and personal life were suffering, and was looking to improve sleep.
Bespoke Therapy Approach
In-depth Assessment: Over the period of few weeks a detailed assessment of OCD and personal history (from childhood), as well as goals and values were done. We used psychometric scales to assess OCD and to check results.
Therapy Sessions: Flexibility was paramount for Alex as we worked in 2 different time zones due to travel. Also, accessibility was needed as at a times we had to use phone, messaging or video calls. Initially, Alex spend time understanding and learning about thoughts, then, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD was used, as this is the most researched and with best outcomes.
Memory Work: We used memory re-scripting as away to encourage learning and reflect on what Alex knew now and did not know when the thoughts first came.
Future Planning: Set up a robust keeping well plan, that suited Alex’s unique circumstance, as OCD has a high relapse rate.
Outcome
Alex intrusive thoughts reduced to about 25-30%, and intensity to less than 10%. Meaning, when a thought came up, it was staying around less and felt less overwhelming.
This significantly improved Alex wellbeing, and led to a better relationship at work and in private life. Alex was satisfied this work last 15 sessions over the period of 20 weeks.

Why to have a free consultation with a therapist?
Most of therapist would offer a free consultation, and I have been contacted various times asking what the initial free consultation with an online therapist is about.
I cannot say why other therapist do so, but I can tell you, why a free consultation with, me an online CBT and EMDR therapist, is important. So can answer some of the questions from people seeking support.
Importance a free consultation with a therapist
It is an opportunity for you to get to know me. It is a space for you to get to ask about your fears or worries regarding online therapy.
You may want to ask how secure it is, or if it is much more different. Learn about securoty and confidentiality of online therapy.
It is the chance for you to get to know me and ask about, how I may be ablet to support you.
Also, it is an opportunity for you to get the sense if I am the person, you would like support from to share, learn and be your best self.
It is also an opportunity for me to know, I can be of any help to you.
How much do I need to share in a consultation?
As I always say at the beginning of the consultation, I do not ask in depth or detail information. This is not the time to do so, and we need to come to an agreement.
We would discuss what would you like to get from therapy, from a wide perspective, as well as what therapy you may be looking for, Remote EMDR or Virtual CBT.
We can discuss if online therapy is a better alternative, than face to face.
You can then go and reflect on what we have discussed, and get back to me. Or we can arrange an initial session on the day.
I hope this clarifies what an online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy consultation or online EMDR consultation looks like.
You can contact me for a free consultation.

Online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and EMDR, are remote and virtual therapies with an increasing popularity, and a flexible way for people to look after their mental health, and to seek help through the support of a specialist Online Therapist, wherever they may be.
As this method of treatment is becoming more prominent, it has highlighted that break some of the stigmas that are associated with attending face-to-face therapy. Online therapy is also growing in popularity, given that it enables patients to simultaneously access support and treatment without having to endure obstacles such as long commutes or waiting rooms.
Online therapy is growing in popularity. With the prevalence of video calling and texting, it’s natural that therapy services would adopt this technology too. The Pros and cons of online therapy are many which are flexible and convenient. Doctors and therapists can meet with you at convenient times. There are no wait times for appointments. And therapy is accessible across borders, so you can receive psychotherapy from a qualified expert at anytime and anywhere. This makes vistual cbt and emdr ideal for travellers and businesses.
There are some pros of online CBT and EMDR therapy:
This is flexible. Individuals can access therapy from anywhere in the world.
Online therapy reduces stigma. Many people are reluctant to seek therapy for a variety of reasons, including concerns about confidentiality, stigma, and stigma-related social isolation.
It allows individuals to seek help when they feel ready to and without stigma.
The therapy can be done by people who work around the world. Some individuals work 12-hour shifts (6 a.m. to 6 p.m.), 7 days a week. They work from multiple locations, including their homes.
Delays in getting help can result in stress and illness, and online therapy is readily available.
Some individuals do not feel comfortable seeking treatment in face-to-face settings. Online therapy provides reduces this.
The decision whether to use online therapy depends largely on the person’s preferences and individual needs. In addition, there are concerns about patient confidentiality in online therapy. I keep your data as safe as it can be, and adhere to ICO and GDPR standards.
In the 21st century, when Zoom, Skype, Facetime and other technologies allow us to communicate through the internet, in-person therapy seems to be becoming a thing of the past. For people facing emotional difficulty, in-person therapy can be one of the most beneficial forms of support available.

Who can benefit from Remote CBT Therapy? Or Online EMDR?
Benefits of Online CBT Therapy and Remote EMDR for Clients On the Move
Who can benefit from remote therapy with an online therapist?
Whether you’re an international worker, a contractor, a remote worker, someone who does not like waiting areas, paying parking, or simply a client who loves to travel a lot, there is absolutely no reason why your wellbeing and therapeutic support should take a back seat during your travels.
Today, more than ever, therapy is accessible and affordable, wherever you may be in the world. As long as you have a working telephone or computer and a working internet connection, you can attend your therapy or counselling sessions and embrace the benefits of Online Virtual Therapy.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic started in 2020, businesses, employees and workers everywhere were thrown into a prolonged period of remote working, and we all very quickly had to get used to doing things a different way.
There are advantages and disadvantages to the whole situation, but I think it’s fair to say that the sudden transition brought on by the pandemic made the adjustment difficult for many employees and companies around the world. The future of work has changed for all of us in both positive and negative ways.
One advantage of this change is that as we have been learning to make the transition from in-person communication to virtual communication, therapists everywhere have been working hard to adapt the way we work. This has actually meant that we can reach more clients in times of distress.
Speaking for myself as an Online CBT Therapist, I have found that my ability to provide CBT Therapy to people who need support has actually increased since the pandemic, because I can now provide flexible virtual therapy for remote workers and travellers who aren’t able to come to in-person CBT Therapy sessions.
This has given a world of opportunities to people to access and expert online therapist!
I now work with people from all over the world, from all different backgrounds and cultures, and I can work together with more clients and support them to be their best selves
Online Therapy has helped so many people make positive changes to their mental wellbeing, and these people may not have been able to take the steps that led them to their healing path if they hadn’t had the option to do this online. For many people, traditional routes to treatment are just not accessible or practical.
Is remote therapy as effective as face to face therapy?
At its core, Online Therapy is very similar to face-to-face therapy. The quality of the Online Therapy that you receive is just as high as the quality of CBT Therapy that you would receive in a therapist’s office, but with the flexibility, accessibility and the reduction of the boundaries that face-to-face therapy bring with it.
You’re still talking to a professionally-accredited CBT Therapist for a (typically) 50–60-minute session. The difference is that instead of travelling to their office and discussing this in-person, you are either attending your session on a confidential video call or voice call, or if it suits you better, then you can choose to conduct your therapy session by any means, from video to call, or typing to each other online. You get exactly the same level of confidentiality, compassion, guidance and support as you would if you were sitting opposite your therapist in an office.
This means that you can discuss your thoughts and feelings with me, as your therapist, from any device and in any location, at any time of your choosing – as long as you have access to the internet. This could be on your lunch break, on the train, or in the comfort of your own home – you can simply schedule your Virtual CBT Therapy with me, and we can work together as a team to make sure that you get the support that you need to process and explore your emotions, share your troubles and embrace your therapeutic journey in a safe, flexible, empowering way that suits you wherever you are in the world.
What does and Online CBT Counsellor do?
As your Online CBT Therapist, I will work with you to identify, connect and change beliefs, behaviours and patterns on a physical, mental and emotional level. I may work with you to help you do this by:
Intention Setting
Goal Setting, Planning & Inspired Action
Sharing and Talk therapy
Empathy and compassion
Self-soothing and Positive Self-talk
Visualisation and Imagination Techniques
Identifying Negative or Destructive Thought and Behavioural Patterns
Identifying Negative Patterns and Habits that Impact Performance.
Using Positive Reinforcement Activities, Exercises, Methods & Techniques to Overcome Challenges and Improve Performance
CBT is a time-limited intervention and tends to be regular – usually weekly. However, when working with different individuals, situations and difficulties, the interval of sessions may be shorter or longer, depending on the needs of each client.
Is virtual Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) better?
Or just different?
In fact, it is as effective as face to face, with the gain of being flexible.

Boosting Employee Performance with Online CBT Therapy: How AXA Psychotherapists and ERP Therapists Support SME Mental Health
In today’s fast-paced business environment, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) face significant challenges, from meeting financial goals to ensuring employee well-being. As mental health plays a crucial role in workplace performance, more companies are turning to mental health services to boost productivity and create healthier work environments. One of the most effective tools for this is online CBT therapy, supported by AXA psychotherapists and ERP therapists. This blog explores how these services can enhance SME mental health and improve overall performance.
The Power of Online CBT Therapy for SMEs
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a well-established approach that helps individuals understand and change unhelpful thinking patterns, leading to improved emotional regulation and healthier behaviors. For employees, online CBT therapy offers a convenient way to address issues such as stress, anxiety, and depression, which can hinder job performance. Whether employees are dealing with personal struggles or workplace challenges, CBT helps them develop the mental resilience needed to thrive.
For business leaders, engaging with an executive therapist online can provide valuable insights into managing stress, improving decision-making, and fostering a positive workplace culture. By utilizing online CBT therapy, both employees and executives can enhance their mental well-being and contribute to a more productive work environment.
How AXA Psychotherapists Enhance Employee Performance
When it comes to mental health support, finding the right therapist is critical. AXA psychotherapists are highly qualified professionals who specialize in delivering evidence-based treatments such as online CBT therapy. For SMEs, partnering with AXA therapists ensures that employees have access to top-tier mental health care, customized to address their unique challenges.
An employee performance therapist can work closely with individuals to identify areas where stress, anxiety, or other mental health issues may be impacting job performance. Through targeted therapy, employees can develop the skills they need to manage pressure and increase productivity. AXA-approved online therapists offer the convenience of virtual sessions, allowing employees to receive support without taking significant time away from work.
EMDR for Performance: Unlocking Employee Potential
While traditionally used for trauma treatment, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is also highly effective in enhancing performance. EMDR for performance can help employees overcome mental blocks, build confidence, and improve focus, all of which are key to excelling in a professional environment.
For SMEs looking to invest in their employees’ development, EMDR can be particularly useful for those in high-stress roles or leadership positions. By addressing past experiences that may be impacting their current performance, employees can unlock their full potential, allowing them to take on new challenges with greater ease. Executives can also benefit from working with an executive therapist online who incorporates EMDR techniques to boost leadership effectiveness.
Addressing Insomnia and Sleep Issues with Online Therapy
Sleep problems, such as insomnia, are a common issue in the workplace and can severely impact employee performance. Lack of sleep leads to decreased focus, impaired decision-making, and higher levels of stress. Fortunately, insomnia therapy online and online sleep therapy offer effective solutions for addressing these issues.
Online CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia) is an evidence-based approach that targets the thought patterns and behaviors contributing to sleep problems. By working with an online AXA therapist, employees can receive personalized treatment to improve their sleep, leading to better overall performance and mental clarity.
The Role of ERP Therapy in SME Mental Health
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is another condition that can negatively impact workplace performance. ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) therapy is the gold-standard treatment for OCD, helping individuals confront their fears and break free from compulsive behaviors. An online ERP therapist can work with employees to reduce anxiety and improve their ability to focus on their tasks.
For SMEs, offering ERP therapy to employees with OCD or related anxiety disorders can lead to significant improvements in their work performance and overall well-being. Access to online ERP therapists makes it easier for employees to receive treatment without needing to visit a therapist in person.
Supporting SME Mental Health with BABCP Supervision
For businesses that provide mental health services, ensuring the highest quality of care is essential. BABCP supervision ensures that therapists are following best practices and receiving ongoing training to stay up-to-date with the latest techniques. A BABCP supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining the standards of therapy provided, whether it’s online CBT therapy, EMDR for performance, or ERP therapy.
For SMEs that employ in-house mental health professionals, investing in BABCP supervision can enhance the quality of care offered to employees, ensuring that they receive the most effective and professional support possible.
Professional Reflective Sessions and Group Trauma Therapy for Companies
Professional reflective sessions are an invaluable tool for fostering self-awareness and continuous improvement within teams. These sessions provide employees and executives with a space to reflect on their work experiences, explore their emotional responses, and gain insights into how they can improve their performance. By offering these sessions as part of an SME mental health strategy, businesses can encourage a culture of learning and development.
In times of crisis, group trauma therapy for companies can provide essential support to employees dealing with shared traumatic experiences. Whether it’s a major workplace incident or an external event that impacts the team, group trauma therapy helps employees process their emotions and regain a sense of normalcy.
Finding the Right AXA Therapist for Your SME

Enhancing Corporate Mental Health with AXA Therapists: How EMDR, CBT, and Reflective Sessions Drive Success
In today's fast-paced corporate world, mental health has become a crucial factor in driving individual and organizational success. High-performing executives often face immense pressure, leading to stress, anxiety, and burnout. For C-level professionals and corporate teams, investing in mental health services, such as online CBT therapy and AXA-approved therapists, can help enhance well-being and performance. This blog explores how therapies like EMDR, ERP, and reflective sessions can boost mental health in the corporate environment.
The Role of Online CBT Therapy in Corporate Mental Health
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a proven approach for managing a range of mental health issues, from anxiety to depression. In the corporate context, online CBT therapy offers executives and employees a convenient, confidential way to address personal challenges, improve coping strategies, and optimize mental health.
For C-level professionals, working with a C-level therapist through Online-CBT can help tackle stress, improve decision-making, and enhance emotional resilience. The flexibility of online sessions means that busy executives can receive support without disrupting their schedules. In addition, AXA-approved CBT therapists provide a structured approach to addressing work-related stressors, helping clients build mental resilience and thrive in high-pressure environments.
EMDR for Performance: Breaking Barriers to Success
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is often associated with trauma therapy, but it can also be highly effective for performance enhancement. EMDR for performance is particularly beneficial for individuals dealing with past experiences or mental blocks that hinder their success.
An AXA EMDR therapist can guide executives and professionals through the EMDR process, helping them reprocess negative experiences that may be impacting their work. By resolving these internal barriers, individuals can unlock their full potential, perform at their best, and tackle new challenges with confidence.
Tackling Insomnia and Sleep Disorders with Online Therapy
Sleep is essential for maintaining mental and physical health, but many corporate professionals suffer from sleep disorders such as insomnia. Insomnia therapy online and sleep therapy online provide targeted treatment to address these issues, ensuring that executives get the rest they need to perform effectively.
CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia) is a structured, evidence-based approach that addresses the root causes of insomnia. By combining online CBT with personalized sleep therapy, professionals can improve their sleep patterns, leading to better focus, decision-making, and overall performance.
ERP Therapy for OCD in the Workplace
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) can be debilitating, particularly in the high-stakes corporate world. ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) therapy is the gold standard for treating OCD, helping individuals confront their fears and resist compulsive behaviors.
An ERP therapist can provide online therapy tailored to the unique needs of executives and professionals struggling with OCD. This approach is highly effective in reducing anxiety, improving focus, and allowing individuals to excel in their roles without being held back by obsessive-compulsive tendencies. For those seeking expert guidance, Online-CBT makes it easy to find a CBT supervisor to oversee ERP and OCD therapy.
Sports Performance Anxiety Therapy for Corporate Leaders
Corporate executives often face the same pressures as elite athletes—constant scrutiny, high expectations, and the need to perform at peak levels. A sports performance anxiety therapist can help professionals manage the mental and emotional challenges of their roles, using techniques typically reserved for athletes. This can be particularly beneficial for executives who need to maintain focus and confidence under pressure, helping them perform better in high-stakes situations.
The Importance of Corporate Mental Health Services
Corporate mental health services are essential for creating a healthy, productive workplace. Mental health issues, if left unaddressed, can lead to burnout, absenteeism, and decreased productivity. By investing in services such as professional reflective sessions, businesses can support their employees’ mental health and well-being.
Professional reflective sessions provide executives and teams with the opportunity to process challenging experiences, reflect on their professional development, and gain insight into their emotional and mental states. These sessions, combined with other mental health services, can help leaders become more self-aware, improve communication, and enhance their decision-making abilities.
Crisis Response and Traumatic Event Services
