Another Friday Night: Patrick Bateman x reader
Oneshot
Warnings/Content warnings: Smut, sex n stuff, major noncon, blood, cutting, virginity loss, Dom! Patrick, he is a psycho, Patrick Bateman being Patrick Bateman yk the classic stuffs
Note: Idk wrote this cus yk why not and I was feeling extra spicy (deranged), only did minor edits so sorry if it's kinda shit. This was very VERY self-indulgent. I tried to leave it gender neutral but it's definitely more fem. Sorry
Summary: uhhhhhhhh yeah
It was about that time of the year where things started ramping up for Pierce & Pierce : Mergers and Acquisitions.
Well not really it's a very grey place to work. You. Well you were just an office runner, no real handling of anything important appart from maybe keeping the pens in stock and making sure there was enough paper in each printer. Making sure the common areas were kept up like restocking kitchen suplies, cups for the water fountain and mediocre coffee station.
The best part of the job was spending the company credit card on snacks and stocking up the snack bar in the "kitchen" area. The kitchen wasn't really a kitchen it resembled a tiny apartments sad excuse for a kitchen but it was missing the stove and oven. Instead replaced with a tiny bench top microwave. Besides the point spending money on cute little snacks and restocking the snack bar was very therapeutic.
You took alot of pride in the "kitchen". I mean there's not much u can take pride in, in this job. You were technically a "secretary" but... It was mainly Jean which took care of the classic secretary jobs.
I'd like to think of it as secondary secretary or on call assistant. Unlike Jean you moved around a lot more whereas she was more glued to her desk replying to emails and phone calls. She was always so polite when she needed me to run some papers to another person. Usually you were last to leave the floor, after Jean leaves for the night you stay back replying to the last lot of emails she didn't get to, usually it was just 5-6 emails with 3 sentence replies.
She's pretty good at getting through the influx of emails everyday but the ones left weren't anything too big so you didn't mind getting the rest done.
Also, you stayed back just in case someone else on ur floor stayed back and needed some errands run.
More often then not its was to pick up food... Again. Half the time you were on coffee runs, lunch runs, another coffee run, another late lunch run, snack runs etc. The snacks run out rather quickly actually. If it wasn't food you would be picking up things from the post office, things from the dry cleaners or once again running a Manila folder to another big grey building down the block. Tonight wasn't so different. You stayed back like usual today there weren't any emails to reply to so you sat at Jeans desk surfing the Web and online shopping.
Tonight Patrick was staying back, you didn't know why it's not like he does anything appart from being a dick. Everytime u passed his office you saw him he reading a magazine in his office or doing a crossword. Everytime he had called you in to run a task it was something useless like throwing a piece of paper from his desk to his trash can in the left corner of his office which he was too lazy to do. He definitely does it just to fuck with you because every time there was a condescending or snarly comment. Of course you would without fail glare daggers at him or reply with an equally snarky and condescending remark.
Scrolling mindlessly for shit you didn't need untill the phone started ringing. It was Bateman. So with a annoyed sigh you picked up "Yes, what." you said impatiently. Honestly you just wanted to go, it was boring and you wanted to use your new artisan bath bomb. Plus it was Friday. "Come here" and then he promptly hung up. What could that prick even want. Getting up with a heavy huff and an attitude walking up to his glass office and pushing open the door.
You stared at him with an expectant look, 3 seconds had passed before he decided to speak. "I need you to carry this" gesturing to the fancy wine and Armani wine glass set that he got gifted today. "seriously... Too weak to carry this your self?". He ignore you putting on his blazer and picking up his breiff case ready to walk out. Bending over to carry his gifts you follow behind him leaving his office.
The elevator ride down was silent and full of tension. What a dickwad you thought. As we got to the ground floor there was a Porsche already waiting. Walking around back to put the wine and glases in the boot suddenly hearing "no I need you to hold on to them in the car, don't want them breaking now do we" he says emphasing the last few words. The driver opens the door for you to get in and shuts it after you give him a slight nod.
Patrick is already seated next to you and staring out the window. God even the way he sits is pretentious. Sooner or later we arrive at his apartment complex. We get out and he waves the driver away. What a dick move, you now had to call your own cab home. After he makes you carry the shit up to his apartment on he makes you call your own cab home??? God what did you ever do to make him hate you so much.
The whole journey you had been glaring at the back of his head trying to burn a hole through his skull. He unlocked his door and opened it up waiting expectantly for you to walk through. You do. As you look around trying to find a table or something to put his stuff down on. At this point your arms were tired and you were exhausted. Not to mention that it was a fucking Friday night. Your eyes landed on his white marble counter top and finally dropping his useless glasses and stupidly expensive wine off. His place was nice but boring as you expected. Clean but a maximalists nightmare.
As the weight left your arms you sighed and went to turn around and leave as you heard a *click* the sound of the door locking.
Did this bafoon straight up forget he just let someone into his apartment??? Walking up to Bateman who was leaning back against his apartment door looking sly. "okay ur stuff-" before you could finish your sentence he had you in a choke hold with a cloth over your nose and mouth. Struggling like a maggot in the beak of a bird, thrashing around untill all went dark.
Blurry white was all you could see. What happened. What the fuck. As your vision came back you sat up slowly. Where. What. You were confused and still trying to figgure out what was happening. Hands shakey reaching up to rub the blurring out of your eyes. Checking yourself for any missing limbs or anything that might indicate what happened. As you explore you feel a thick collar wrapped around your neck. Huh?? Pain shoots through your whole body. In two distinct pulses. As soon as it stopped you hear a chuckle comming from behind you. Turning you see Patrick sat on a chair looking awfully proud of himself. "Patrick..what's going on?" there were tears welling up but you were not going to let them spill.
He hold up a remote with 3 buttons shaking it like a toy in front of a baby tauntingly not saying anything. Pressing one of the 3 buttons with a click that almost echo's in the room. Instantly you feel the pulsing pain shoot through you body again. This time it went on for one second longer but it felt like a minute.
Angry and scared you shouted at him but all that came out was a high pitched pip and air getying caught in your throat. "awww what's wrong? Cat got ya tongue?" he teases walking closer now being over to meet your eye level.
You were on his bed, atleast he had the courtesy of putting you on his bed instead of the hard floors. Gathering your voice back up "Patrick what the fuck?" you manage to snap.
"I would drop the attitude if I were you"
"No Patrick what the actual fu-" pain sears through your limbs once again making you double over onto your side. "Be nice. Or ill shock you till your brain oozes out of your thick fucking skull" Patrick spits out, the dislike apparent in his voice.
As the pain subsides you open you eyes back up eyes landing on the knife he was now holding in his other hand. "Patrick why... Why?" looking up at him as he looms over the edge of the bed, voice no longer as strong or determined but quiet. Putting the knife down oh is side table he grabs a fist full of your hair making you sit up and look him directly in his eyes. "since you think ur so fucking smart why don't you figgure it out" adding a hmmm at the end as to belittle you even more. As if this wasn't already enough.
"what do you want" you whine out eyes casting down. His eyes were piercing straight through you. You didn't want to admit it but something inside you found this oh so very hot.
Letting go of you hair and grabbing his knife back he opens a closet. Watching his movement closely trying to figgure out what he was possibly going to get. He starts to set up a tripod. Oh God what the fuck you think to ur self. Panicking even more if that was even possible.
Adjusting the camera to face you he clicks a few buttons then clears his throat. "Ass up for the camera" in a stern demanding tone. Looking at him questionably to counter he holds up the remote for the shock collar you had on. Almost challenging you. Reluctantly you get on all 4s and arch your back with ur bum facing him and the camera. His footsteps comming closer untill you feel cold sharpness run up the back of ur thigh. Staying silent as he rips you skirt off leaving you in your stockings and a thong. You were still basically dressed but felt so naked and vulnerable. As he threw the now fabric rectangle on the floor he spanks your ass. The stinging making you involuntarily let out a little whimper of confused pleasure. "oh, so your are a little whore" feigning surprise. Hearing something scrape against the bed you try looking for clues as to whats to come next but fail as he strikes you with a whip? Cane? Unknown but it stung. Yelping as the thing made contact. The weight on the bed shifted as he got closer shoving ur face into the blankets "don't move bitch" he whispers into you ear before moving off again. Now you have deduced it was infact a cane and he wasn't going to tap you lightly. Striking your ass with the cane again and again while berating the living hell out of you. It hurt so good as tears soaked into the sheets. You could feel your pussy pulsing but you couldn't let Patrick know that.
"please stop" you were begging him as he kept whipping your cheeks with the cane. "Patrick please it hurts so much" "yeah it's supposed to hurt you dumb cunt" a few strikes later he stops. "stand up" he orders. Mustering up the strength you feel your stiff joints scream as you step onto the floor and straighten you knees and back. He's behind the camera "go have a good look at yourself" gesturing with his head to the mirror.
As you near you see the dark red lines left by the cane. Beads of blood forming at the skin and the skin that did split the blood was smeared by the other smacks all across your cheeks. "you see that" you nod slowly still looking at the carnage of your cheeks. "that's what sacarstic sluts get, I'm not letting you off with just that either" he warns as he roughly grabs you arm dragging you back to the edge of the bed and forcing you into your knees.
You could feel the heat and the pain radiate from your ass as your knees made contact with his carpet. With a hand firmly grasping at you hair and the other one skilfully undoing his belt and fly he pulls down his silk boxers revealing his massive hard cock. "don't just stare open up" yanking your head back so you would be looking up at him. Opening your mouth reluctantly he roughly shoves his cock in. Your hands automatically push against his thighs to no avail. He was so strong all you could do was grip at the fabric of his pants as he kept gagging you. He didn't let you breath and all you could hear was triumphant groans of pleasure comming from him. Your things were pressed together trying to quell the throbbing down stairs. As he pulled his dick out and let you breath he yanked to to your feet and forcefully ripped your shirt off and harshly yanking your bra off as the straps snapped and the claps split. "oh wow would you look at that, you don't know how long I've been wanting to fuck you brainless" as he roughly fondles your chest. His hand making its way up to you neck and then pushing you back onto the bed. "Patrick" you pleaded "Patrick please don't I'm" struggling to get out the words as he tightened his grip around your throat.
All you could do was let out a strangled moan. Finally letting go he sat back onto his knees and spreading your legs so that his cock was right at the entrance of your coochie.
Looking at him with pleading "Pat please don't, please I'm.." "finish ur sentence bitch" as he rest a hand on your inner thigh ready to rip your tights off. "I'm a virgin please don't"
"ur so fucking stupid ur pissing me off you fucking whore" as he rips a hole in your stockings and completely ripping your thong off leaving fabric burn marks on your hips. Without a second he thrust his girthy penis inside. Instinctively you tighten around him yet your legs were trying to push him away. None of your protest did Jackshit. Leaning to the side he grabbed the knife off the night stand again. Pressing his body against yours as he slid the knife up too your throat holding it there as he looked into your eyes while fucking you. All you could do was hold onto his forearm to lessen the pressure of the blade against your throat.
It hurt so bad but he didn't slow down he was pounding into you harder and faster. A shamefully moan every time he trusted into you. "you like my cock you little cum slut? Ofcourse you do u pathetic bitch" "because that's what you are aren't you" he cooes as you moan. He keeps ramming into you harder and faster untill you feel him cum inside of you.
A few final pumps and as he lifts himself up pressing his hand on your chest admiring what a mess you had become. "look at me" you had to fight your mind fog to look at him. "mm pa-" he slaps ur face leaving a sting hand print on your cheek "it's Sir." "slut" he spits out. "sir please no more" pleading with him again now fully exhausted. He just chuckles and walks back over to his camera taking it off the tripod and filming manually. "open up" hitting you leg lightly expecting you to spread them open again. But you didn't hear him still in a daze trying to process what just happened.
One quick shock back to reality quite litteraly you instantly spread open your legs. Kneeling down with his camera he reaches his fingers to display his hard work to the camera. You could feel the warm cum oozing out of your slit. As he kept using his fingers to spread your lips open. Standing back up again. "hands off your tits bitch" he demands. Slowly uuncrossing your arms from your chest you prop yourself up to face him properly with your legs still open. He's filming you. "okay repeat after me, I'm just a hole" "I'm just a hole" you whisper weakly. He drops the camera a bit to look at you and sighs with disappointment "a bit more enthusiasm and smile a bit" tilting his head to the side in sly mockery. "your a slut. Act like one" he states impatiently then lifting the camera back up. "I'm just a hole" this time you exclaimed with more life, surprisingly a smile was easy to muster up.
That sick part of you enjoyed this. "see that's not so hard is it" he teased as he propped the camera back on the tripod. This time he opens the night stand and grabs something. You couldn't quite see. *click* he opens it to reveal a switch blade. Frozen you followed him with your eyes as he sat opposite you. "patric- sir w-what are" squealing as he lunges at you pressing you back down on the bed.
His weight and strength being impossible to struggle against. "stay still doll, it's easier if you stay still" he chuckles as the knife nears your face. "pat" you manage to squeak out as he sliced up the corner of your mouth and up your cheek. The warm blood running down the sides of your head and down your neck. You actually started crying now the tears which you held back so long came pouring down mixing with the warm thick blood from your cheeks. He had finished with your other cheek now sitting back. Losening his tie and undoing a few buttons of his shirt. "look at how much prettier you are now" looking at you with admiration for his handy work. Taking off his tie "hands" he said composed like he didn't just mutilate your face, you stretch out your arms to him as he ties your writs up with his tie then strapping it through a slot in his headboard.
Grabbing his switch blade again he drags it up your thigh stopping when he reaches your sternum. Paralized in shock, fear and... Love? Your breaths slow down as he looks back up at you. "it's okay doll, just customising you a bit alright?". Proceeding to slowly carve his name into your torso. Each letter painfullfully deep and deliberately slow. Making you squirm with each slice. The muffled sobs bouncing around the room.
After he pumped 3 more loads into you he flopped onto his back and reaching for the smokes on his side table. Lighting one up puffing away nonchalantly. After he was done, he snuffed the cig putting it out above the I making the the dot above the I in Patrick.
Untying your wrist and you stared at the wall. Making his way to the bathroom and bring back a warm towel he kisses you for the first time tonight on your now dried up bloodied cheek.
Before tenderly wipeing the blood and dried tears off your face. You sat there on the bed not moving but concious just not moving. He got a second warm towel after the first one got drenched in blood to wipe down your torso and the rest of the dried blood off your body. "Get under the covers" his voice now softer. Before heading back to the bathroom to do his night ime routine. Getting under the blankets. Curling up into the fetal position despite the pain of the cuts in your torso screaming to stop. Trying to fall asleep. The lights flicked off and the bed dipped as Patrick got under the covers his warm body pressed up against your battered body. You were divided. You hated him more than ever you were scared, confused, angry, tired and yet your body seemed to move on its own. You sank back into his chest and arm as he pressed a kiss on the back of your neck. He was completely different than who he was 30 mins ago. You couldn't imagine the Patrick you saw in the office doing all that to you. You couldn't imagine the Patrick that cut you up pressing that soft tender kiss he just kissed on the back of your neck. Yet he did.

I Watched 🎵Siiiiiix!🎵 in Manila!
A bit of a late post, but hey, better late than never! Last October 10, my friends watched the International Tour of Six during their stop in Manila. The tour was only for a very limited period—only three weeks!—but we were very determined to catch this iconic pop musical live no matter what.
I know most musical theatre fans who are chronically online are familiar with Six, but for those who aren't, Six is a one-act musical retelling of Henry VIII's six wives in a pop concert setting. It started out as a concept album by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss while they were studying in university (how cool is that?!) It's currently running in the West End and Broadway and had shows and tours all over the world, including Australia, Canada, South Korea, and more.
I first got to know this musical way back in 2019 after seeing clips on YouTube, and I became intrigued by this very pop-y and modern musical. As someone who loved The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory, I was an instant fan of the musical. The music is very upbeat and the lyrics are witty. It's not your traditional musical, but that's what makes it charming and unique. It's also one of the shows that's very interactive with the audience and even encourages them to take videos of the last song as if it's a real concert.
When I learned that the International Tour was going to make a stop in Manila, I immediately told my friends who were also fans of the show. This would be the second musical we would watch together after Hamilton last year. Seeing Six with them was definitely a blast! After all, a musical about women empowerment with an all-female cast and crew is best enjoyed with your closest girlfriends.
Like most international musical productions that tour in Manila, Six is staged in The Theatre at Solaire. I'm pretty impressed with the photo-op backdrops they had this year with Six. It was closest to what I experienced during The Phantom of the Opera tour in 2019.
The best one was the throne set where you can also wear a crown from any of the six queens. I chose the red one (Cleves!) because it went well with my outfit that night haha. There was also a sparkly background that was kind of similar to this POTO one in 2019. (And yes, that's an Aragon headband from the merch shop that I'm wearing!) While in line for the throne set, there was also a quiz to help you determine which queen you are most alike. Sadly I didn't take a photo of the results but I got Catherine of Aragon, which I'm quite happy about!
Another highlight of the evening was when I discovered that my seat for Six was the same as my seat for POTO five years ago! It seems like the theater must have made some changes during the pandemic, including renaming the rows and seats. Imagine my surprise when I found out that B15 (my seat for Six) was the same as C17 (my seat for POTO). Luckily, I wasn't alone this time and had my friends with me!
As for the musical, it was very fun and I enjoyed every minute of it! When I'm watching a show, I'm usually not tempted to sing along—but with Six, I was literally biting my cheek to stop myself from belting along with the queens. I was bopping my head and clapping (when appropriate!) but my god, was it hard not to get on my feet and just start dancing as if I were in a real concert. Props to the cast for keeping that energy for the entirety of the show!
Also, I love that the touring company we had was from the UK because I honestly can't imagine experiencing Six without the iconic British accents. Don't get me wrong—I like the Broadway cast and listen to the OBC live recording a lot, but the British accents just make the show feel more authentic and the deadpan jokes are more hilarious.
I was also very lucky to catch three alternates and three principals in our show. If I remember correctly, this was the first show with half of the main cast and half of the alternates. My friends are also fortunate enough to meet all six queens at the stagedoor! Even though 3/4 of us are huge introverts, we were able to thank the queens for a great show and told them how we loved their performances.
Our (chaotic but precious) stagedoor photos (check image description for their names and the roles they played!):
(And yes, you can tell that 😃✌🏽 is my favorite pose!)
Milly Willows, who played Aragon, was the major standout in the show for me! Her energy was so infectious and lively. Maybe it was her performance, the Aragon headband that I was wearing, or the result I got in the quiz earlier, but I think that Aragon's my favorite queen out of the bunch. Yna Tresvalles was mischievous as Boleyn and her small stature, compared to the other queens, helped in the quirky Boleyn she's portraying. Erin Summerhayes, who played Seymour (a.k.a: "the only one he truly loved"), also gave a heartfelt rendition of "Heart of Stone." She also sang for us a lil bit on the stagedoor! Lorren Santo-Quinn was playful as Cleves and looked so pretty that it was hard to believe Henry divorcing her because "she didn't look like her profile picture." Lizzie Emery was snarky with her little quips and comments as Howard. Her "All You Wanna Do" was also very fun yet harrowing. And, of course, Eloise Lord, who played Parr—the voice of reason in the end!—brought the house down with her profound version of "I Don't Need Your Love."
Here's a little sneak peek of their Megasix from my friend's video:
And that's all for my Six in Manila post! It was a memorable experience and I had such a great evening. Can't wait for the next musical (Hadestown next year, please please please!)
#personal#six the musical#six international tour#six manila#the theatre at solaire#musical theatre#musicals#milly willows#yna tresvalles#erin summerhayes#lorren santo-quinn#lizzie emery#eloise lord#i love theatre so much!!!

Where can Filipinos find serious literature outside of the National Bookstore? I've been in there and there was only walls of Wattpad and romances. (NOT that those books are less valuable, but I'm looking for something different.)
I haven't visited any National Bookstore branches for Filipiniana books for nearly a decade now. FullyBooked has pathetic Filipiniana sections, but they're better than NBS. If you're in or close to Manila, Solidaridad is the one I can recommend for a physical shop. Personally, I just wait for the yearly MIBF and buy from there.
Most of my Filipiniana books I buy online. UP Press, UST Publishing, Ateneo Press, Anvil (my personal fave), and Avenida Books have Lazada and Shopee stores that you can shop in. That's my preferred way.
On Instagram you can even find small, independent presses like Papertrail Projects, Gantala Press, Southern Voices, Kasing Kasing, Balangay, Haliya.
Hope this helps, anon! 🤍

Strawberries, known for their sweet taste and health benefits, have a notable presence in the Philippines, particularly in the mountainous regions where the climate is cooler. Here's a comprehensive overview of strawberries in the Philippines, covering cultivation, production, markets, health benefits, and other related aspects.
Cultivating strawberries in the Philippines involves several key steps;
. Climate and Soil: Strawberries prefer cooler climates and well-drained soil with a slightly acidic pH (5.5 to 6.5). Raised beds and good irrigation are recommended.
. Planting: Strawberry runners or crowns are typically used for planting. Proper spacing and mulching are essential to protect plants and retain moisture.
. Care and Maintenance: Regular watering, weed control, and protection from pests and diseases are crucial. Strawberries require consistent care to ensure a good yield.
. Harvesting: They are usually harvested when they are fully red. This is generally done by hand to avoid damage to the fruit.
The Philippines is not among the world's largest producers of strawberries, but it has a growing market for both fresh strawberries and strawberry-based products. Benguet is one of the primary production areas, with La Trinidad being famous for its strawberry farms. The region also hosts an annual Strawberry Festival, highlighting the importance of this fruit to the local economy.
Where to Buy Strawberry Products
. Markets and Supermarkets: Fresh strawberries are available in local markets, especially in Benguet and nearby areas. Larger supermarket in cities like Manila also stock strawberries and strawberry products
. Specialty Shops and Online Stores: Specialty shops and online platforms offer a variety of strawberry products, including jams , preserves, and other strawberry-based treats.
. Strawberry Farms: Many farms in Benguet and La Trinidad allow visitors to pick their own strawberries, offering a unique experience and direct access to fresh produce.
Health Benefits: Strawberries are not only delicious but also packed with health benefits:
. Rich Nutrients: Strawberries contain Vitamins C, B9 (folate) and potassium. They're also a good source of antioxidants, which can help combat oxidative stress and inflammation.
. Heart Health: The antioxidants and fiber in strawberries may contribute to healthy heart by reducing LDL cholesterol and blood pressure.
. Weight Management: Low in calories and high in fiber, strawberries can be healthy addition to a weight management plan.
. Blood Sugar Regulation: Strawberries have a low glycemic index, which may help with blood sugar regulation.
Conclusion: Strawberries in the Philippines are primarily grown in the cooler regions of Benguet and La Trinidad. These areas are known for their strawberry farms and related products including jams and other preserves. The cultivation process may requires careful attention to climate, soil, and maintenance. The fruit offers a range of health benefits, from improved healthy heart to weight management, making it a popular choice among health-conscious consumers. (super long post ahead)
Hello !
I just want to preface this by saying that I'm starting this blog as a way to document and be able to look back more on my life, especially with my journey as a full-time artist. I've thought about vlogging or making short-form videos instead, but I'm not that comfortable being on camera so this is the best option! — thinking of this as a visual diary :)
☆☆☆☆☆
I'm Reign (or Rain, whichever is ok)!
I'm a 26-year-old Filipino artist/designer residing in Manila, Philippines and I own a brand called WE ARE MOODY aka MOODY CLUB.
I feel like I've never formally introduced or talked about what my brand is and how it started to anyone so I guess this is the right opportunity to do so!
To start, Moody Club is a variety brand that aims to tackle everyday emotions in a fun and creative way through art and design! I want to let people know that being moody is normal— or even cool! I'd like to subtly send out the message that you should embrace your feelings, whether good or bad because ultimately, it's part of being human.
The brand was formed in 2019 when I was about to graduate from college. I got a Bachelor's degree in Applied Arts and majored in Visual Design at a small school here in Metro Manila. I always knew I wanted a career in the creative industry and at that time I was heavily into streetwear fashion, so I started We Are Moody Clothing!
^ some of the merchandise I sold in 2019!
It was really fun to make designs and make them come to life, but back then, I had no clue how to operate a brand. I didn't know how to find the right suppliers nor how to efficiently sell online and manage my expenses. To be honest, it was hard especially since I didn't have any connections with fellow artists or entrepreneurs to ask advice from or at least interact with. So, I put it aside and got a job instead. It was a different industry but it helped me earn more income. Unfortunately, however, the pandemic hit, and the place I worked at shut down permanently.
I was struggling mentally during the early months of the pandemic (along with trying to sell baked goods from home aka MOODYBAKES — but this story's for another time!). I felt like time was being taken away from me and that I wasn't doing anything worthwhile. It truly felt like I was running out of time 'cause I was entering my mid-20s as well. Soon enough though I discovered the online journal community — specifically, the K-pop journal and deco world!
It was kind of the start of me "healing my inner child". I was drawn to making more handmade crafts, collage making, and sticker collecting. I definitely found comfort in cute things! It was the outlet I needed. I was also lucky to get to know fellow journal/deco lovers and eventually some local artists.
When I started gaining a following as moodzlover (my journal/art account on Instagram) I got to know KITA, a local artist whom I've admired and looked up to since I was a college student. She noticed my work and asked to collaborate. That was probably how I also slowly entered the ARTPH (local online art scene) community.
KITA X RAIN COLLAB
I vividly remember her telling me to start a shop too so I could sell my art in various forms such as stickers, prints, etc. It definitely motivated me to become a full-time artist like her! (I will be forever thankful for her friendship).
So that's what I did! Fast forward to a few months later, I re-branded WE ARE MOODY/MOODY CLUB and registered myself as a full-time self-employed artist!
I was worried that people might not really like what I make since I took a long break from designing or making art in general (I used to hate drawing in college) but thankfully, I've only been receiving love and support since then!
I've done several product releases, art markets, and collaborations in the past 2-3 years. Just last year, I became a partner artist at a physical consignment store and I was also able to buy my own website! Moreover, I moved from working alone in my bedroom to working in a shared studio space!
I feel blessed to be where I'm at right now but I have so many things I still want to do, and there's a lot of work to be done to get to where I want to be. Honestly, I still think I'm running out of time sometimes, but that kind of thought will always be followed by me remembering the saying, "Everyone has their own timeline".
I know I've come a long way but there's still a long way to go! There may be times when I feel stuck or tired but I still love what I do and I want to continue to make myself and other people happy.
I'd like to apologize if this has gotten way too long but I just wanted to share a little piece of my story!
Thanks for reaching the end of this post :)

24 January 2024
I can't believe it's almost 5 days since I last posted. Time flies by so fast, goddamnit.
I came back to Manila on January 21st to "recuperate", as I told everyone in my press release. It's been a crazy month in the hospital, doing licensing and accreditation stuff, seeing patients, leading people, and I think it's safe to say that I need a break.
Today, Ejii-chan and I did some general cleaning of our home. We were also able to replenish our groceries which took a while because neither of us wanted to go out and do actual grocery shopping. Help came when Grab and Lalamove were there to deliver everything.
I grilled a ribeye from Santi's in Magnolia that we got after meeting some friends for lunch a few days back. It wasn't as great as the ones we've had from other butcher shops and online, but it wasn't terrible either. We chowed it down while binge-watching a new Japanese show we started today.

Tips to Get Rid of Car Suspension Common Problems
What is Car Suspension?
Car suspension is a system of components that connects a vehicle to its wheels and allows for relative motion between the two. It is responsible for providing a smooth and comfortable ride, as well as maintaining traction and stability while driving.
There are several types of suspension systems, including independent, dependent, and semi-independent. Independent suspension systems have the ability to move each wheel independently, which allows for better handling and a smoother ride. Dependent suspension systems, on the other hand, have all of the wheels connected, which can result in a rougher ride. Semi-independent suspension systems are a combination of the two, with some wheels connected and others independent.
Function:
The main function of a car suspension system is to provide a smooth and comfortable ride by absorbing shock and reducing vibrations. It does this by using springs, shock absorbers, and other components to dampen the movement of the wheels as they encounter bumps and other imperfections in the road. In addition to providing a smooth ride, the suspension system also helps to maintain traction and stability while driving, particularly when cornering or braking.
Components:
There are several key components that make up a car suspension system, including:
Springs: These are used to absorb shock and keep the vehicle from bouncing excessively. There are several types of springs, including coil springs, leaf springs, and torsion bars.
Shock absorbers: These are hydraulic dampers that are used to control the movement of the springs and wheels. They work by converting the kinetic energy of the moving suspension into heat, which is then dissipated through the fluid inside the shock absorber.
Control arms: These are long, pivotable arms that connect the wheels to the frame of the vehicle. They allow the wheels to move up and down, as well as side to side, while still maintaining a stable connection to the frame.
Ball joints: These are used to allow the control arms to pivot, which allows the wheels to move up and down. They are located at each end of the control arms and are made up of a ball and socket joint.
Stabilizer bars: These are long, thin rods that are used to help reduce body roll while cornering. They are connected to the frame of the vehicle and the control arms and work by transferring some of the lateral force from one side of the vehicle to the other.
Common Problems with Car Suspension
Noise:
One common problem with car suspension is noise. This can be caused by a variety of issues, including worn or damaged components, incorrect tire pressure, or misaligned wheels. If you notice a loud knocking or clunking noise coming from your suspension, it's important to have a Car mechanic who can check out the problem as soon as possible., as it could be a sign of a more serious issue.
Vibrations:
Another common problem with car suspension is vibrations. This can be caused by a number of issues, including worn or damaged components, misaligned wheels, or incorrect tire pressure. If you feel vibrations coming from your suspension, it is important to have it checked out as soon as possible, as it could be a sign of a more serious issue.
Uneven tire wear:
If your car's suspension is not working properly, it can result in poor handling. This can be caused by a variety of issues, including worn or damaged components, misaligned wheels, or incorrect tire pressure. Poor handling can make driving more difficult and unsafe, so it is important to have your suspension checked out as soon as possible if you notice any issues.
Sagging or leaning:
If your car's suspension is not working properly, it can result in sagging or leaning. This can be caused by a variety of issues, including worn or damaged components, incorrect load distribution, or incorrect tire pressure. Sagging or leaning can make driving more difficult and unsafe, so it is important to have your suspension checked out as soon as possible if you notice any issues.
Causes of Car Suspension Problems
Worn or damaged components:
One of the most common causes of car suspension problems is worn or damaged components. Over time, the various components of the suspension system can become worn or damaged due to normal use and wear and tear. This can result in a variety of issues, including noise, vibrations, uneven tire wear, poor handling, and sagging or leaning.
Incorrectly inflated tires:
Another common cause of car suspension problems is incorrect tire pressure. If your tires are not properly inflated, it can cause a variety of issues, including uneven wear, poor handling, and increased fuel consumption. It is important to regularly check your tire pressure and keep it at the recommended level to help prevent suspension issues.
Misaligned wheels:
Misaligned wheels can also cause car suspension problems. This can be caused by a variety of issues, including worn or damaged components, incorrect tire pressure, or driving over potholes or other uneven surfaces. Misaligned wheels can cause uneven tire wear, poor handling, and other issues, so it is important to have them properly aligned to help prevent suspension problems.
Improper load distribution:
Improper load distribution can also cause car suspension problems. If you are carrying an uneven load or if the weight is not distributed evenly across the vehicle, it can cause issues with the suspension. This can result in sagging or leaning, as well as poor handling and increased wear on the suspension components.
Accidents or collisions:
Accidents or collisions can also cause car suspension problems. If your vehicle has been in an accident, It's important to have a car repair service inspect the suspension to check whether it is working properly or not. Even minor collisions can cause damage to the suspension system, so it is important to have it checked out as soon as possible.
Diagnosing Car Suspension Problems
Visual inspection:
One way to diagnose car suspension problems is to perform a visual inspection. This involves looking at the various components of the suspension system to see if there are any visible signs of wear or damage. This can include checking for worn or broken springs, leaking shock absorbers, and damaged control arms or ball joints.
Test driving:
Another way to diagnose car suspension problems is to test drive the vehicle. This can help to identify any issues with the suspension, such as noise, vibrations, or poor handling. It is important to test drive the vehicle on a variety of different road surfaces to get a more complete picture of the suspension's performance.
Using a hydraulic jack or lift:
Another way to diagnose car suspension problems is to use a hydraulic jack or lift to raise the vehicle off the ground. This allows for a closer inspection of the suspension components, as well as the ability to test for issues such as worn or damaged components and misaligned wheels.
Measuring tire wear:
Measuring tire wear is another way to diagnose car suspension problems. Uneven tire wear can be a sign of suspension issues, such as misaligned wheels or worn or damaged components. By measuring the tread depth of your tires and comparing it to the manufacturer's recommendations, you can get an idea of whether or not your suspension is functioning properly.
Repairing Car Suspension Problems
Replacing worn or damaged components:
If you have identified worn or damaged components as the cause of your car's suspension problems, the first step in repairing the issue will be to replace these components. This may involve replacing springs, shock absorbers, control arms, ball joints, or other components, depending on the specific issue.
Adjusting tire pressure:
If incorrect tire pressure is causing your suspension problems, the first step in repairing the issue will be to adjust the tire pressure to the recommended level. This may involve adding air to underinflated tires or releasing air from overinflated tires.
Aligning wheels:
If misaligned wheels are causing your suspension problems, the first step in repairing the issue will be to have your wheels properly aligned. This involves adjusting the angle of the wheels so that they are pointing in the correct direction and are perpendicular to the ground.
Loading the vehicle correctly:
If improper load distribution is causing your suspension problems, the first step in repairing the issue will be to ensure that the weight is evenly distributed across the vehicle. This may involve adjusting the placement of heavy items in the vehicle or redistributing the load.
Preventing Car Suspension Problems
Regular maintenance:
One of the best ways to prevent car suspension problems is to perform regular maintenance on your suspension system. This may involve replacing worn or damaged components, checking tire pressure and tread wear, and having the wheels aligned on a regular basis.
Checking tire pressure and tread wear:
Another way to prevent car suspension problems is to regularly check your tire pressure and tread wear. By keeping your tires properly inflated and replacing them when they become worn, you can help to prevent a variety of suspension issues.
Avoiding overloading the vehicle:
It is also important to avoid overloading your vehicle in order to prevent car suspension problems. By not exceeding the manufacturer's recommended weight limit for your vehicle, you can help to ensure that the suspension system is not put under unnecessary stress.
Driving carefully and avoiding accidents:
Finally, driving carefully and avoiding accidents is another way to prevent car suspension problems. By being mindful of your surroundings and driving defensively, you can help to reduce the risk of accidents and collisions, which can cause damage to your suspension system.
Where to Get Car Suspension Repaired
Automotive repair shops:
One option for getting your car suspension repaired is to take it to an automotive repair shop. Many car repair shops have trained technicians who are capable of diagnosing and repairing a wide range of suspension issues.
Dealerships:
Another option for getting your car suspension repaired is to take it to a dealership. Dealerships often have highly trained technicians who are specialized in repairing the specific make and model of your vehicle.
Specialized suspension repair shops:
Finally, you can also take your car to a specialized suspension repair shop. These shops are focused solely on repairing suspension systems and may have more expertise in this area than general repair shops or dealerships.

Why leaving the city to settle in the province is one of the best decisions in my life
I already drafted a post earlier, pero nawala lol. So, here's my second attempt.
Before the pandemic, I was living in a condo along EDSA with my then-fiancee now-husband. We paid 18K monthly for a studio-type condo, with pool and gym amenities. It was a dream come true for me since my previous homes in the metro were in not-so-Instagrammable places.
So a bit of a history of my living situations in NCR:
I left Laguna since HS for college and stayed in a dormitory. There were about 2-4 girls per room and my parents who crawled my expense through graduation often paid my rent late.
Then, I graduated and vowed to not have my parents pay a single cent for me anymore. I lived independently paying ALL of my living expenses including rent, food. My first home that I paid for myself is another dormitory with about a 7 x 7 room shared by another girl.
Then, I lived in with my then-fiancee and toxic ex in a 2-BR apartment in the middle of a busy Manila baranggay. When he left me, along with needing to pay some unpaid rent, I moved into a smaller a 1-BR apartment. Both were in the middle of a noisy, crazy Manila neighborhood where people drink and gossip 24/7.
So, fast forward to the pandemic doom, I got initial info (being an EHS & BCP person) that there would be lockdowns. My then-fiancee now-husband and I then rushed packing and left our condo unit (even after spending hours panic-buying some supplies) to go home. We never really imagined the pandemic lasting years, so for the first 3 months, we lived with our parents... transitioning between his parents' place and mine while we work remotely. But then, since we are getting married, we decided to buy a house. If there's one thing the pandemic made us realize is that HEALTH IS IMPORTANT... and he and I both know that we cannot live in a boxed condo as a permanent home. Luckily, his work perks allowed us to choose a model unit (fully furnished but a bit outdated) so it's basically ready for occupancy. It took us barely 6 months to get the papers settled (while also preparing for our wedding) but we got it.
We now live in a 2-story house located in a city in Laguna, near an SLEX exit. I'll save the logistical, administrative costs and construction gulatan costs for another story, but we were able to save enough to have some improvements like a gate, home gym, pocket garden, and repainting. We'll be spending our third Christmas (WOW) here and yes, it's still the life I want because:
Province life allows for a slower, mellower life. I am not sure if I can put it into words but there's something about waking up, walking down the stairs, taking a peek at the window and seeing Lolas sweeping their front yard, smiling and waving at you. There are neighbors who even if we rarely go out, reaches out to us to ask how we are, share a laugh or two. There are kids going to and from school. Even the traffic is way way better, not only because its decongested but because people are not in a rush? Like, kapag naluwas kami para pumasyal or for work, even a 2-3 second delay from the go-signal would cause people behind us to hit their horns like they are dying. Gulat na gulat kami at how full of rage drivers are, while here, people tend to give way. Though may mga kupal minsan, pero like 1:50 ang ratio compared sa NCR na 40:50 ata.
Everything is accessible. Maybe it's the smart location that the village is located, but Nuvali is 15 minutes away so we get to do our weekend runs and grocery shopping there every weekend. When we want a different view, Alabang or Makati is barely an hour away. We also have access to foodpanda and Grab, so we can also order food. And, when we grow tired of that, we also have an online Facebook page for the village where we can order food and have it delivered too. Kanina lang nga, dahil naka-isolation kami, pati pandesal inorder namin sa online village store.
The view can easily put you in a better mood. I remember during the MECQs, we'll just jump in the car and do a quick drive-thru run to Mcdonald's or Starbucks. We'll sometimes bring the cats with us para masanay sila. We'll eat inside the car, just open the windows a bit and see lush greens around us. On days when work feels too much or when I get depressive or anxious episodes, we'll just drive around, and instantly, I feel better as we pass by trees, farm lands and sunset view. When we run too, there's always a mini trail to discover.
We are nearer to our families. Though we may not be able to visit them as often as we want, but connecting is easier. We can have lunch outs over the weekends, or they can easily visit us at home and spend some time together. Malawak yun bahay at bakuran, so they can sleep over. Kapag may emergency, iba pa din yun may mga kakilala kahit paano na pwedeng takbuhan. We have my husband's office mates near the village and my Dad's office is also 30 minutes away from where we live. So, minsan sa amin din sya nauwi. Our house also offers a breathe of fresh air sa Mom ko when she wants to relax and play with her apos aka cats LOL.
Expenses are cheaper. Gas, groceries, services are cheaper here. Though we are not safe from the ~golden era~, we do have options like talipapa or wet markets. Since nearer din kami sa mga sakahan or isdaan, mas mura din talaga yun mga fresh produce. Sa Nuvali and LB area, madalas din may community market. Also, the 18K rent we paid for the condo? Imagine we pay less than that and we are owning this house after a few years. To share, even the 7K rent I paid for the 1-BR apartment can pay for a house here in Laguna too. No, I don't think renting is a waste of money since tinitirhan nyo naman sya, but imagine how getting a house can be a future asset (yun lupa, hindi yun bahay, but that's also another topic). But basically, LAND does not decrease in value ever. Ever ever. Kaya din bahay kinuha namin over condo.
There is space - to move, to breathe and to grow. Literally and figuratively. Literally, I am lucky to have my own home gym, and garden and garage that like now that we are in isolation, we can move around. It's easier to partition our lives between work and home, kasi may home office din ako. May place to sleep, to eat, to work out and that's important for an ADHD person like me. There also is room to grow... ewan ko pero the more I see how people can live in the provinve, the more lumawak yun pananaw at pangarap ko. No, I don't want a bigger house, but I now know that having a slow and steady life is possible. Yun, hindi kailangan pagod at ngarag to earn money, because people here, maraming may passive income and all. Parang here, money flows in even when you don't do much. Hindi ko ma-explain pero siguro totoo yun kapag mas malawak yun paligid mo, mas feeling mo din hindi ka nakakahon? (Though, we really need to do some spring cleaning LOL kasi ang kalat na ng bahay.)
My mental health has greatly improved. Probably because of all the reasons mentioned above. But, you know, taking myself away from that hustle and bustle of the city, really allowed me to slow down and think about what I really want in life. Dito sa probinsya ko narealize na life doesn't need to be complicated. Dito ko din na-allow ang sarili ko stop when I tend to want want want a lot? Kasi, in the midst of every grit and grind work day, masaya ako to just slow down, have a coffee or a glass of wine and spend time with my husband and cats. And really, that's all I need. In a world that tells you that you need to work-out, prep food, be excellent at work, learn new things, have a hobby, stay connected with loved ones and all sorts of MUSTS, the province life allowed me to tone it down and just do what I can. The more we do so much minsan, the more we lose who we are... or that's how I feel. The province life allows me to be just me~ whoever I want to be.
I know not everyone has this privilege, and for this I am grateful - for the opportunities that came our way, for the blessings given to us and for the hard work we put in. 🧿 It's weird pero the pandemic really did turn our life around, kasi naipakita sa akin kung ano yun importante - Health, connections and peace of mind. Yan lang pala talaga kailangan ko.
So, anyways, ayun lang. If you have the chance, give it a think. Alam ko hindi lahat possible ito sa work nila, but this is also why I chose to make it a non-negotiable when I consider work offers. Either remote or hybrid. Because this is now home and I can't sacrifice this peace for career progression or additional pay.
I hope you read this not feeling like I am boasting. Sa totoo lang, hindi ko inakalang dadating ako sa ganitong level of contentment... o baka natuto lang talaga akong maging grateful sa araw-araw. Good or bad, there's always something positive (gaya ng antigen test namin, eme). Nagpapasalamat lang talaga ako sobra for being here... so I really try to pay it forward too. My husband, I noticed, does the same na din. Every chance we get, we share our blessings.
Universe, thank you. I trust that 2023 would only bring us closer to the simple farm life we want. 🧿. 🪬. 👁️🗨️.

TASK 001: HOME
✳ 🎀 𝑀𝒶𝒿𝒶'𝓈 𝒶𝓅𝒶𝓇𝓉𝓂𝑒𝓃𝓉 🎀 ✳
Maja Lim has resided in the same Seoul apartment for over two decades. In direct contrast to the univocally beautiful Lim, the exterior of the complex is unremarkable in almost every way. The innocuous tan building, built in the 1990s and located in the lively Jongno-gu district among antique markets and art studios, does not reflect the playful nature of the surrounding neighborhood.
A different story is told inside Lim's tenth-floor apartment. At first, it can be challenging to tell the difference between her sun-kissed living room and a pastel paradise. Lim, of course, is one of South Korea's most popular streamers, but a quick glance at her Insadong residence reveals that she could've easily worked as an interior designer for kawaii cafes in Harajuku, Tokyo; she has an eye for all things cute and pink.
A common thread in Lim's home is a blending of soft and sweet with bite and edge, which she's applied to her career as an online personality. Lim is a collector and a maximalist, and there’s seldom an empty wall or corner. A travel souvenir (a Greek coin that has been out of circulation since the 1980s) here, a trinket (a waving sakura lucky cat from Japan) there; a photograph in a wavy handmade frame (designed by a local Insadong artist), a Sanrio plushie. Or two. Or Three. In fact, there are an inordinate amount of plushies in the Lim household. “It’s a bit of a self-soothing mechanism,” Lim admits with a laugh. “When I’m in a sour mood, I buy a plushie. Or go shopping.”
Despite the maximalism of Lim's apartment, it never feels congested... until you reach the closet. She has done her best to accommodate her vast wardrobe, attempting to keep it enclosed to the bedroom, but it has nonetheless splashed out into the rest of her apartment. A metal clothing wrack in the living room holds a few notable items (most of which are pink), but the garments themselves are exquisite enough to function as an art piece.
When asked what clothing she chooses to hang on the living room rack, Lim says, "I want to say it’s whatever I'm wearing most, but the truth is it's usually what I want to dress my friends in. I love having my girl friends over and dressing them up. I'm really into sleepovers. Painting each other's nails, doing each each other's hair, that sort of thing. It makes me feel like I'm finally getting to experience the girlhood — the teenhood — I never had.”
Lim's house has an air of permanence, of established roots, but she admits that she wasn't always a settler. She had never committed to creating a personal space for herself until she moved to Seoul. As her career blossomed and popularity grew, she considered relocating to a larger apartment in a more affluent neighborhood. “I’ll never follow through," she says. “I have a very personal relationship with this place. This neighborhood. I know all the staff at the local businesses and they know me. I feel very...” she pauses, searching for the appropriate word, “held here. It’s a nice community.”
It would be difficult to discuss Lim without mentioning her streaming setup. She does not, contrary to popular belief, have a separate room for gaming. A corner of Lim's bedroom is taken up by her desk, which is outfitted with multiple monitors, neon lights, and numerous trinkets from her favorite gaming franchises. "[Now that I'm famous], people assume I have a crazy complicated setup. That I must stream from a converted home office or a corporate warehouse. Manika Incorporated!" She laughs. "But, no, everything is still very homegrown, and I have no intention of changing anytime soon." As the adage goes: don’t fix what ain’t broke.
The Filipina streamer hails from Manila, and those with a keen eye will notice design references to her motherland. A large Pamaypay hangs above the bar area, a wooden Karabow guards a bowl of keys in the foyer, and many antique pieces are paneled in stunning white capiz, a natural material abundant in the Philippines.
“My apartment is an extension of myself,” says Lim. “It’s everything that I am, everything that I was, and likely everything I’m going to be in the future. It’s all right here.”
