A few months back I received a mail from this new start-up for a collaboration. They are into unisex self-care products and they have already released around twenty-five products in the market. From all I have read about them, their products are doing really well in this short time in the market. After finalizing, the product that they had offered me for review was their Root Therapy Plus Onion Oil. Though hair oils haven’t been my kind of thing for the last few years, I have started to use them again as my dandruff problem has cured. So now that I am back to using hair oils, I was intrigued by the offer. I have read how Onion juice can turn your hair around and so onion oil was worth giving a shot.

MY VERDICT I received this product around 15 days back and I have been using it since then. I usually oil my hair twice a week and that is what I did with this oil too. Having used it for just four times now, it’s a little difficult to give a proper review but I shall let you know the immediate effects that I have noticed. The first thing that I noticed about the oil was the fragrance and I found it too strong. I am not a fan of strong-smelling self-care products but then it’s onion oil and I was expecting it to have a strong smell. Though it’s a blend of so many essential oils and herbs, the oil is watery, easy to apply, it’s non-sticky and is very light on the scalp after application. So other than the smell, the first impression has been pretty impressive. I applied the oil overnight and washed it off the day after and my hair appeared healthy and showed some volume which was nice. The oil did not make my hair limp or I did not have any other problems like the itchy scalp or oily scalp. So overall, I like the oil and I will continue to use it. I am definitely looking forward to seeing if it does all that it claims but so far so good! And for the effectiveness of the claims it makes, I will come up with another review after a few more uses.
