A year later

It's been a year since everything changed. Since everything I knew was lost, my world was destroyed.

It's been a year, since He left, leaving me completely damaged, broken and miserable.

But also it was a whole year of changes. I laughed, I cried, I danced, I kissed, even loved one of whom I kissed, but the most important thing is: I lived. I taught myself to live alone. To finally start being happy alone, to stop defining myself by the person I loved. I realised that there are wonderful people with me, that I am worth more than I always thought.

I realised, that sometimes you have to let the person go. If you love them, let them be happy, even if it means leaving you (but it doesn't mean I don't wish him to rot in hell).

I loved someone after. But this fire was too hot and wild to warm me during cold nights. This fire was meant to burn me down if I decided to come closer. So I let it burn away. I knew I won't be happy. So I let it go.

I've lost a lot. But I earned even more. A person. A man. Who despite differences between us is always by my side. Who is always ready to be with me. And I don't have to ask for attention, love, time together. He doesn't tell me how to put everything back on a right place or build my life. He's helping me with small, but very important things.

But the most important thing is that now I know: love shouldn't make you feel worthless, scared and sad. The person you love shouldn't be the one, who makes you feel like shit, who can look at your tears without feeling bad.

Love is not easy, but if it makes you feel shitty, it's better to let go, even if the pain seems to be too hard.

Now I know that.
