RITUAL FOR EARTH 1001 wishes of children for the future of the earth were delivered by @flyingudder atop the triple watershed this week. To navigate that mission we were waiting 17 month for this unique constellation of winds to arise (with surprise from the Sahara ). The RITUAL FOR EARTH is inspired by the Tibetan Lung-Ta ritual. When crossing passes, good wishes for this world are handed over to the wind with the saying "Lha gye lo" - The Gods will prevail. I handed out 1001 leaves of trees with wishes of children for the future of the earth above the triple watershed in Swiss canton of Grisons to the wind and the three directions of flow of the water originating there – Inn (Danube), Mera (Po) and Julia (Rhine) - The Danube, the Po and the Rhine carry the messages of the children with them to the North Sea, the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. The RITUAL FOR EARTH is a contribution to the SHARING WATER project,an initiative of the ONE BODY OF WATER Association @reginahuegli, which is dedicated to the hydrological and cultural significance of the continental watershed and the management of water as a resource in Europe. We started in Andeer (Ch) and were flying in a height between 3500-4600m without additional oxygen in a speedrange between 15 - 100kmh. Our pilot @eugennussbaumer reached the Pass Lunghin exactly 🍃🍂🍃for the ritual after 1 hour. Eine soziale Skulptur interagiert mit der Realität.

Die Ankündigung für das RITUAL FÜR DIE ERDE basierte auf stabilen Wetterprognosen über viele Tage. Das Strömungsverhalten der Winde hat kurz vor der EUTER-Erhebung unerwartet gedreht. So war ein Ballonstart am 27.2.2022 nicht möglich. Der Schweizer Pass Lunghin ist nicht nur eine Wasserscheide sondern auch eine Wetterscheide.

Die Piloten hoffen auf eine Freigabe innerhalb der nächsten beiden Wochen. Danach ist eine Alpenüberquerung aus thermischer Sicht erst wieder ab Oktober möglich. Das Team ist sich bewusst, dass diese Kunstaktion nur in einem synergetischen Zusammenspiel mit der Natur realisiert werden kann.

The winds have unexpectedly turned. Our pilots don’t see a chance to elevate our hot-air balloon in the upcoming days. If the winds are with us till middle of March we can celebrate and perform the RITUAL FOR EARTH & MILKYWAYS OF PEACE otherwise we have to wait till November due to thermic aspects. None of us expected that this triple watershed is as well a unique weathershed and therefor so tricky to fly over.

Anyhow our team is calm, maneuvering the now and continues waiting (since 16 month: ) for this well orchestrated moment to arise.

The 1001 wishes from children (written on the leaves of trees) for the future of our earth are yet not physically at this hotspot of flow - but ongoing in our thoughts.

Especially all the ones wishing for LOVE, PEACE & UNITY. Our thoughts are the region where it all starts from. Like the three rivers are originating under the triple watershed our realities become alive due to the focus of our thoughts.
