Kind of parallels here. Definitely with the two Matt and Elektra ones, for sure. And kind of with the the Zack and Max one, too, in that both Matt and Zack trapped Elektra and Max in the same hold. And also because Matt and Elektra are canon. And Zack, at least, has feelings for Max, though they're one-sided.

But at the same time, the parallels also aren't one-to-one, because while Matt and Elektra are having fun, Zack and Max aren't at all. Zack and Max are pissed at each other here, because Zack is essentially testing Max--in thinking that her head's not in the game, and she's going to get caught by her military creators (who have scoured the city she just escaped from looking for her)--if he gets out of her way to let her go back to the city she abandoned to be there for her dying love interest.

Like, these two scenes led to the above moment:

And admittedly, the above was not the best first move for Max to make in attempting to fight Zack, because she pretty much trapped herself in his arms there, before he kicks her:

But then Max definitely gets her "head in the game," and starts kicking Zack's ass and does win the fight and go back to Seattle.
