its insane how many of one piece's quirks have insane plot twist reasons behind them. like no one expects there to be a reason why the world is made entirely out of islands, or why the technology is so strange.

these worldbuilding details are played off so casually that you don't think too much about them too much. why would you? one piece is such a weird series that you just adjust to it!

ive seen so many people joke about how one piece has robots and cloning but no cars and they have to use snails as telephones. the concept is so ridiculous that you don't think on it at all.

so when its revealed that this world used to be super technologically advanced before the world government's creation you lose ur fucking mind!!

and thats happening again now with the reveal that this world has been slowly mass flooding for centuries now!! this might happen more in the future so im gonna think myself into a hole over what other silly quirks could be lore important later

i'm curious if the sword that nusjuro gorosei has could rlly be shodai kitetsu

in this chapter the hilt and blade were finally more visible when he was seen using the sword, as opposed to in the previous chapters where the focus wasn't on the details of how it looked, but more on the attacks themselves (if i remember correctly)

it looks so similar to zoro's sandai kitetsu:

"Sandai Kitetsu is a moderately curved katana with a white edge and a distinct blue hamon that has the appearance of flames. Its tsuba is golden and shaped like a rounded cross pattée." (x)

and to nidai kitetsu (that luffy had in wano for a brief time)

"Nidai Kitetsu is a moderately curved katana with a light purple edge and a distinct blue hamon that has the appearance of flames. Its tsuba is gold and shaped like a rounded cross pattée." (x)

it'd make sense the gorosei has one of the most powerful and legendary swords, as well as the first one in the kitetsu line

it also makes me wonder how he even got it.

This week's chapter is making my brain melt!! The sea level is gonna rise until it swallows the WORLD!? Is this how we get the All Blue!?!?! Is this why Noah was created!? Not to save the Fishman but to save the people on the surface!? Did Joyboy know? Does this mean his plans included saving everyone on land not just taking down the government! THE FORSHADOWING OMG! Water Seven, Aqua Laguna, and Lulusia's destruction all causing the sea level to rise!

This is only Vagapunk's first point I have a feeling the second will break my brain again. Considering how surprised this made everyone, I can't even begin to predict what the second point will be! The void century hasn't even been brought up yet and I'm already in shambles!
