Today, I finished Small Saga in the same day I bought it.

Upon that completion, I decided to buy the accompanying DLC to chuck a tip at the dev—Darya Noghani—for having crafted such a beautiful, epic, and incredible adventure. It's about eight hours long and it's packed to the brim with incredible characterisation and exciting plot beats that other games struggle to even come close to. The turn-based combat isn't anything special but it's well executed but that's not what you're here for; you're here for the fantastic story.

I'm still amazed that the setting is just the gutters of a regular, non-magical Earth populated by talking rodents who've taken to medieval societies and yet the story accomplishes being a fantastic epic in its own right. The mundane becomes otherworldly, divine and demonic alike, and the presentation is immaculate. I heartily recommend this game to everyone. It's a real treat amongst indie titles.

How to Style your Bridal Party

First let’s all remember that a bridal party consists of a group on individuals with different style aesthetics who have come together to assist you on your wedding day. As much as your wedding is a celebration of your relationship and you are the star of the show, let’s be kind and understanding to the needs and preferences of your bridal party. So here are some seven quick tips to ensure everyone looks fabulous and your photos are memorable.

1 Bridesmaids

Ideally you want to achieve uniformity but with some individuality. For example, all the bridesmaids can wear the same dress, but each lady can style it differently with different accessories and hairstyles. Another option would be for each lady to wear a dress in the same fabric and colour, but each dress could be cut in a slightly differently style, as can be achieved with infinity dresses.

2 Groomsmen

Generally, it is accepted that groomsmen will wear the same suit in whatever variation tickles your fancy ie with or without a waistcoat etc. Should you want to add some individuality to their outfits restrict this to perhaps ties or socks in different prints but within the colour scheme of the wedding. If the groomsmen look too different it may look as though you asked random wedding guests to stand next to you. Weird!

3 Colours

Firstly, bridesmaids are not décor so their dresses should not be the same colour and shade as the table cloths or table runners! Rather choose a lighter or darker hue or a different colour that is within the same colour family as the wedding décor. This is easier to achieve if you choose more than two colours for your wedding décor. For example, wedding colours could include berry tones with accents of succulent green, thus bridesmaids could wear any of the berry tones, succulent green or even a neutral shade such as beige or black.

4 Style

It is important to make sure that everyone feels comfortable in their outfit. So, consult with your bridesmaids and groomsmen to find out what they would prefer. Some bridesmaids may not want to wear a strapless dress because it will be cold, she does not have the equipment to ensure the dress stays in place or she has a weird mole she would prefer to hide. So be considerate, you do not want awkward unhappy expressions in your photos.

5 Differentiate between the couple and the support team

The bride should not be in the same outfit as the bridesmaids. This rarely happens because as ladies we know how to put the spotlight on ourselves and hopefully you have friends who are supportive in this way. Men on the other hand seem to think that the groom can wear the exact same outfit as the groomsmen. I hate this. They look like clones and I always think if the groom doesn’t feel like getting married he could run away and the groomsmen could each take one step to the left and no one would know. The groom could be differentiated by wearing a suit or waistcoat in a different colour, shade or hue as the groomsmen. I would avoid differentiating through the use of a tie ie groom wears a tie and groomsmen don’t. In my opinion, this looks like a few guys forgot their ties at home, rather than a planned outfit choice.

6 Include the rest of the team

It is generally accepted that the bride, bridesmaids, groom and groomsmen are the bridal party but since most of your photos will include your parents, step parents, grandparents and of course flower girls and page boys, you need to consider these folks’ outfits as well. It is a good idea to consult and guide these people in choosing an outfit that will complement the bridal party’s look, to ensure beautiful photos, but at the same time, allow them to express their personal style aesthetic. This can often be s tricky situation especially if you have not spent a lot of time with the new members of your family or if you do not get along well. But I believe a wedding is a happy occasion and a fantastic opportunity to put any bad vibes aside, start a new and be friendly.

This is more important for the ladies than for the men, because the guys will probably wear a suit in the usual grey, black, blue shades and match his shirt to his date. So focus on the ladies! I suggest you get your group of significant mamas together for a coffee date and you share the wedding colour scheme with them.  You buy them each a big slice of cake and ask them politely if they would please choose an outfit that is within the same colour family as the wedding colours ie berry tones or green tones in the previous example. In my experience Moms of the Bride/Groom really like wearing navy blue because it is a colour they can wear again to multiple occasions and it is neutral enough not to clash with the wedding colours. This is a great option, because you can suggest that they add one of the wedding colours in a pop somewhere, perhaps with a scarf, jacket, shoes or jewellery. Metallic pops are also very elegant and stylish. If possible try to avoid MoBs and MoGs in black, even though this is a trendy wedding colour it always makes me think of funerals and makes me wonder why the MoB/G is in mourning on such a happy occasion? Any crazy bright colours like red or orange should be avoided, along with any colour that is similar to traditional wedding dress colours, such as white, beige, ivory etc are a no go. These colours will make these mamas stand out like a sore thumb on your photos and draw attention away from the bride which is not very nice.

7 Be Nice

Remember to be nice, kind and considerate, no one likes a Diva!
