Great news that I just discovered: the new NHK asadora (short morning dorama) Maiagare! is being subbed. Our Cherry darling Akaso Eiji has a starring role in it, which is a nice big deal, and he’s already getting lots of magazine coverage in Japan because of it. Yay, as long as it’s not a gigantic lift to get/watch the episodes, I’ll be adding it to my list!

#maiagare #soar high #akaso eiji #all asadoras feature a main female character who defeats some kind of adversity to find happiness or success or both #maiagare is about a young woman who wants to become a pilot #one of these days i'll review my favorite asadora of all time okaeri mone #okaeri mone bucked a lot of asadora trends by having a female lead who didn't end up getting married and/or having a child in the show #which is a common trope for this dorama style #the writer of okaeri mone was adachi naoko same writer as kinou nani tabeta #and she took a lot of risks to create something incredible #okaeri mone marked the 10 year anniversary of the tohoku earthquake so that made that asadora a huge deal as well #anyway let's see how maiagare goes #it won't be okaeri mone but it's akaso's latest work yay!
