thinking about Jahaerys saying that every time a Targaryen is born the gods flip a coin and on one side is madness and on the other is greatness and Daemon and Rhaenyra are essentially two sides of the same coin and this season has been leading up to it but this episode was the first real glimpse at what it really means for them to be those two sides sides of the same coin
#i took a sleepy pill so i am probably not coherent but#one of the overarching themes in asoiaf is that everything comes with a price#only death can pay for life#you will never walk again but you will fly#etc#as rhaenyra's greatness grows so does daemon's madness#and i don't think that he is like#aerys level mad obviously#but the obsession with using the dragons#the choking#rhaenyra wanted peace#she wanted to do the right thing#idk i'm not really going anywhere with this#i just think it contextualizes so much of daemon this last episode#anyway i need to go to bed#but god#what a good episode#i can't stop thinking about it#hotd spoilers#hotd
